Thank you for your reply. It still doesn't make sense to me then why would Jesus be so specific? When he said specifically be baptized in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit? I don't believe that Jesus would say anything to confuse us. Couldn't really be that simple? Just be baptized in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit? Would that cover peters command to be baptized in the name of Jesus? He didn't say Jesus only did he?

We know that confusion is of the devil. There shouldn't be any confusion Jesus said it. He told us how to do it in his name. So I'm wondering why my I see it in black and white actually red, but people are trying to say that it's not what it is

As I pondered your thoughts, it came to me that, if we think of about it...why would we want to stop God's will, even if, in His divine Providence, He brings difficult situations to us, seeing that in His foreknowledge, wisdom, counsel, and understanding, and great love and mercy, He knows what He is doing and why He is doing it. Why fight against God? :) It is best to surrender to Him, and seek His face in all things that He brings us to and through, and let Him make us more like Him via the tools He is using in our lives.

    Blessings,

Sorry about the typos. When should never voice text when they're in a hurry! Sometimes my phone changes things and if I don't go back to edit then it can be confusing. You're in my prayers today Roy. God bless you and give you a glimpse of how (I believe) He's always been in your life. You didn't make it to your age by not having some Jesus intervention!

Roy, Reading your reply reduced me to tears! Not out of sadness for you, but because I began to think of all the reasons that I love Jesus. He has truly been a friend that sticks closer than a brother. CLOS ER than a brother! And my family is pretty close. Jesus has not only saved my soul but he has walked with me through my entire life. He was there all the times that I got myself caught in satan's web. He stood by my bed side when I was sick and near death many times. When I was lonely he comforted me. When I was scared he calmed me. When enemies tried to attack me and take my soul, Jesus protected me. He dealt with them. Who do you know that would go out of their way to leave blessings in your path just for you, to make your life more beautiful? And warn you when there's danger ahead? Who do you know that would step out of nowhere to help you when you're in trouble or have a need? Who do you know that has made it a point to guide you when you need wisdom? He is always there 247. Who do you know that is always there when you're sick? Who do you know that always forgives you though you may sin against him 707? Who defends you when you don't deserve it? Who knows your heart and who can you 100% be honest with about everything? Even the darkest of things. Who knows your heart and every thought that you think and still loves you? Who has that kind of love for you? Jesus does. Jesus has been that kind of a Savior to me! He has been that kind of a friend? Trust me when I say I'm being very brief for lack of time this morning. When you have that kind of relationship with someone, it is impossible to not love them. So my prayer for you this morning is that you would have eyes to see what Jesus has really been to you in your lifetime. I realized that I love him. And that gave me a great desire to keep His commandments from my heart. Completely turned me around and sent my feet on a different path. I'm still far from perfect & I'm not worthy. Heaven will be a gift!

If God wills something to happen, is there anything we as human beings can do to stop it from happening? People talk about free will, but is our free will ever stronger than God's will? I hear people say that God does not force us to do anything, but if it is His will for something to happen, can we use our free will to prevent it from happening?

Verses 4 and 5-after stating the need to always rejoice, we see that moderation or reasonableness is mentioned here. This is important because if our expectations are not reasonable, we will not be able to rejoice.

Dear Richard, I think we are in total agreement. Your observations are very successful. I just wondered is it ever going to happen to see things like the ancient church saw? Are there going to be people like Paul, Peter, Stephen, Philip with such a huge amount of God's Grace on them? Were those things only for that time like some churches claim ? Has God changed? What do we need to do to make God give us that portion of His Grace? Can we do anything about it? Obviously miracles in the early church played a huge role in attracting people to God, we see it all the time in the Book of Acts. Many questions, aren't they? I think nowadays more than any other time we need people like them. They weren't different from other people through the millennia that devoted their lives to God like them. Nowadays that people have a new supergod whom they call "science" (true and fake) people need something really drastic to escape from satan's trap. Anyway nothing to miss if we pray for that.

    Hey Marke,

That's fine, the angels being the sons of God and mating with women is a subject that has no bearing on our salvation. May the Holy Spirit lead us and guide us in the discussions that we do in humility and love toward each other so that we all may grow.

Your other point on sin being passed down from the man is a different discussion that if you post it others may have some helpful replies. I know Adam was not deceived 1 Timothy 2:14 and in Adam, all die 1 Corinthians 15:22.

Eve also ate of the tree, she was not born of man, was she not under the same curse? Was it a curse on mankind as a whole without having it passed down to them from dad or mom? Is the sin nature a sin? Jesus had to have the ability to sin to fulfill the covenant, Hebrews 4:15. Just a couple of questions may others give you answers.

    God bless,

It's difficult and I know many here like myself have passed beyond teenage many years (decades) ago; some forget how challenging it was to be saved as a teenager, especially in the public schools where even some schools forbid prayer, Bibles and prayer meetings. However, to be a light to those unsaved in your youth -- keep your testimony blameless before them. It's easy to get angry and to make the unsaved feel excluded. However, you have a great opportunity to be a witness to those around you. Even if you had a Bible study with a group of 20 students and only one listens to you; that's a big number for God.

What about if they try to tempt you or distract you from walking in your Faith? The Word of God has advice on that and it's very firm:

    2 Corinthians 6: 14 & 15

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?"

Persecution will come but it came to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior too...

    John 15:17-21

"These things I command you, that ye love one another. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me."

Some will tell you "God loves everyone." God does love all His Creation but He also wants them to be saved. Many say that to cover up a hidden message that God loves sin. No...God hates sin but loves the sinner.

Be strong in your Faith and a witness toward the lost youth. Amen.

There's a greater number of people in these last that report hearing whispers or voices?

The medical doctors even though the number is increasing are simply writing it off as

Some form of anxiety or depression? Mass murders are saying some 1 or something was talking

and fighting them 4 Months B 4 the killing Spree? MK-ultra used unwary persons for ESP TESTING

then turning them loose in the public to let nature take it's coarse usually ending in

Suicidal acts or MURDER ! Extremely evident in the mass murders in our country and around the world e.g.SANDYHOOK

    Hi Donna,

Being baptized in Jesus name includes God, and the Holy Sprit, as they (all three) are ONE!

Being baptized in Jesus name, or being baptized in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - is equally the same.

    Hope this helps you.

    God Bless.

Why then should a man express such love to God? Please read 1 John 4:9-21, particularly noting that the sacrifice of His Son was the ultimate declaration of His Love for every sinner. And in response, "we love him, because he first loved us". This love is similar to that shown to one's family, yet much greater. If a sinner has been forgiven & released from guilt, his love towards God should know no bounds, for sin's weight has been removed, new life has been given him, God's Spirit takes up residence in him sealing him & giving him power to live in joy & victory.

So this can never be a matter with the 'human brain'; for sure, we can understand these words with the mind, but it's only our spirit that can be convicted, renewed, & respond with extreme gratitude to the Lord Who has reached down to us & done all this for us. We might willingly self-sacrifice for the good of our families, but will the Christian be willing to sacrifice his life for the Lord, if demanded? The true believer always will. Why? Because he is no longer his own, he belongs to the Lord, & the same Lord will empower him giving him the confidence & courage to face every test.

So, this is the love that the Bible speaks of. The faith that God gives us to call upon Him & to believe in Him, is the faith that makes our view of Him, our knowledge of Him, & our relationship with Him very, very real - not seeing with physical eyes but with the spiritual, & the Spirit revealing Jesus & His Word to us. A lot of words shared here Roy, but I hope that it goes some way to explain this Agapao (love), how we can have this special love for others, but fully expressed toward the God Who gave His All, His Best for our redemption & to be His eternal possession. Many in this world know all about God & His Ways, some even in the pulpit, but only those possessed by Him, living each day for Him, are called His children. May the Lord grant you help & understanding of His Love for you & your response to Him.

I can understand the sense of wrongdoing that you feel Roy, yet also believing (in hope) that all things will be well in the end, inspite of how your life has been going. I began a response to you much earlier, but my comment disappeared; maybe done so by the Lord as your comment to Donna would have changed it.

Therefore, on that basis, I wonder whether your belief in God, His Son, His Holy Spirit, in forgiveness, & everlasting life is confined to a head knowledge & not involving a heart relationship with the Lord. Please forgive me if that sounds confronting, but I write that in response to what you wrote, "I am not convinced that I know what "LOVE" is in this context...how does the human brain do that?" Maybe Donna will share her own thoughts on your comment, but if I may, I will add my own here.

Essentially the love you have for your family is similar to the love you should have for God (by the way, I'm not raising the extra-marital propensity that you are 'afflicted' with here) - just, 'what is this love?' In the Bible, we read of different types of Love that can be expressed to another. Without detailing all those here, the Love that you would have towards your family is called 'Agapao' (a Greek word denoting the highest form of expressing love, where these attributes are depicted: self-sacrifice, no conditions made, seeking the best for others even to the neglect of oneself). In the Bible, there are many verses declaring such love by God for us (the familiar John 3:16 being a prime example), & our expression of that same love towards God & also to others.

    Dear Donna.

It seems there is a contradiction between Matthew's and Acts' scripture. Not actually. Isn't Luke that writes in the Acts to be baptized in the name of Jesus only? Yes he is. But this is short for being baptized in the name of Father and the Son and the Holly Spitri. How do we know that? OK lets go to. Acts 19: 1-7, when Paul meets some disciples of John the Baptist in Ephesus.

He asks them if they had been baptized in the Spirit. They tell him they haven't even heard of a Holly Spirit. Now be careful what Paul asks them. He asks in what name have they been baptised in water. If the answer is in the name of Jesus only, Paul's question has no point at all. But if the answer is in the name of F and S and HS then his question has a point. He asks them how come you haven't heard of the HS, when you got baptised in water didn't you hear it? It is Luke that writes that, in spite of him having written before to be baptized only in the name of Jesus. So that is short for the proper saying "in the name of Father and the Son and the Holly Spirit."

This nation and its people chose years ago to take God out of public schools, jobs and many churches to a point where some of the "worse" sins are now being committed in churches and schools, including the sin of homosexuality.

I fear that our nation will not turn from her wicked ways but will continue down the path of unrighteousness. 2 Timothy 3:13 says "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." We are certainly seeing this verse come to pass! However, we believers have a duty to be a light in the world:

2 Timothy 3:14 says "But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;"

We have a responsibility to be lights in this wicked world and save who we can through preaching, teaching, admonishing and even pleading for men and women to turn from their wicked ways!

Jesus told His disciples to "watch and pray" so we should do exactly that, watch and pray! When we read or are made aware of wickedness (watch) we should pray (for that sinners deliverance and protection that we do not become involved in that sin too. Watch and pray brothers and sisters!

Dear "Jimmy Wayne Marcum", start and give of what you have.

Read the Bible and share what you get. Believers too, they need more encouragement now than ever before.

Everyone needs Jesus no matter who, in one way or another. And best of all, it's completely free to have people confess Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

And then it's good to take with us that we are different so sometimes it's best to listen to the Lord. What would He have done, we usually find the answers in God's Word.

Preserve your heart above all things and your faith in the Lord. Romans 14

May the Lord bless you and preserve you for all the days of your life. Love u in Christ. Jesus loved us first.
