Alex. Well, if that's what you managed to glean from my comment, then I really have no more to add. If you begin to deal with the specifics of someone's comment (even a particular verse) rather than formulate your own ideas about the comments, then we might have a basis for discussion. I was writing about two kings & the satanic spirit that was in them & worked through them. What you've written has absolutely no correlation to that.

Can you give a meaning of TRINITY
  • Chris - In Reply - 3 years ago
Thanks for that Suze. I agree with much that you wrote, but rather than deal with each part of it, I would ask, What is the origin of our carnal minds? What was in Paul's mind when he stated, "the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God" Romans 8:7,8: where does this carnal mind/carnal life, lived in the flesh, come from?

Is this something God has given us from our birth, or has another intruded into humanity causing us to sin against God & that sin has been passed on to all generations? ( Romans 5:12; Acts 5:3; 1 Timothy 5:14,15; 2 Corinthians 2:10,11; 1 Thessalonians 2:18; Luke 22:31,32; etc., are a few verses showing Satan's activity, from the first day till the day he is put away, & our ongoing struggle to withstand him & his devices & to live in the power & joy of the Holy Spirit).

Satan is never absent - He is present - He is at work - and working in the hearts & minds of those who choose to live according to the dictates of their flesh & not in the fullness of the Spirit. Such were the gross sins of those kings mentioned earlier - if Ananias & Sapphira could have Satan gripping their heart so as to lie to the Spirit, how much more of Satan's control over those kings & indeed so many rulers/govts of today & their workings against Jesus Christ.

    Robert,

Matthew 12:40 says " For as Jonas was three days and three nights In the whale's belly so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth"

That comes to a full 72 hours not 36. Not sure I your math was off accidentally or purposefully.

For all this business of a person having to know that Christ did do this and all the suffering that he went through is a bit heavy. Yes a person needs to know that Jesus bore his/her sins on the cross, died and was buried, then on the third day he rose conquering death and hell. But the simple fact is that it isn't required to know this.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life"

Jesus hasn't been to the cross and here he is telling Nicodemus how to be saved...without the knowledge of what Jesus will go through.

Take Phillip and the eunuch in Acts 8:26-40. Yes the eunuch was reading in Isaiah 53:7 concerning the prophecy of Christ having to endure the suffering and death of the cross but when the eunuch saw water he asked. "See here is water. what doth hinder me to be baptized? and Phillip said, if thou believest with all think heart thou mayest. And he answered and said I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Acts 8:36-37

Acts 16:23-34 tells of the time Paul and Silas we're in Philippi, arrested and beaten with whips and thrown into prison with the jailer given orders to keep them safely. We learn that en earthquake cames and broke the foundation of the prison, with the doors opened and their bands loosed. The jailer came out and thinking his prisoners escaped was about to kill himself. Paul cries out for him to not do so.

Bringing us to verse 30, "And brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

And they said, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and they house."

That's just 2 passages showing the simplicity of salvation.

    The Kingdom of God.

    Part 3.

    "WITHIN YOU."

The better translation would be "in your midst" or "among you." Jesus was telling the Pharisees that He brought the kingdom of God to earth. Jesus' presence in their midst gave them a taste of the kingdom life, as attested by the miracles that Jesus performed. Elsewhere, Jesus mentions His miracles as definitive proof of the kingdom: "If I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you" ( Luke 11:20).

There are three popular interpretations of Jesus' words in Luke 17:21 that the kingdom of God is within you (or among you): 1) the kingdom of God is essentially inward, within man's heart; 2) the kingdom is within your reach if you make the right choices; and 3) the kingdom of God is in your midst in the person and presence of Jesus. The best of these interpretations, it seems, is the third: Jesus was inaugurating the kingdom as He changed the hearts of men, one at a time.

For the time being, Christ's kingdom is not of this world ( John 18:36). One day, however, the kingdom of God will be manifest on the earth ( Isaiah 35:1), and Jesus Christ will rule a physical kingdom.

Jesus told his desciples to pray for the Kingdom.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

    Mat. 6:10.

Some say the Kingdom started in Jesus ministry.

There's several problems with that view.

    1) Davids throne no longer existed then. "It still don't.

    2) Revelation 20. refutes that notion. "The devil is still at large, look around.

The Millennial Kingdom is a one-thousand-year literal and visible reign of Christ upon the earth during which Satan is bound, Israel as a people is restored, and the Jewish Temple rebuilt.

    Isaiah 2:1-4.

    Isaiah 11:1-10.

    Isaiah 65:18-25

    I like this one!!

Isaiah 11:11. God will gather Israel a SECOND TIME and all this will happen.

This is being fulfilled before our very eyes! He just haven't poured his spirit on that nation yet.

    God bless.

    S, Spencer,

I so agree. Scriptures are so very clear that there is only one God and that there will never be any gods besides Himself.

It is audacious to promote the belief in the deification of man. I think we should not desire to become gods and should really be humble and accept our position, purpose, and constitution as a creature. Creatures cannot change in their natures. men do not become angels nor gods. What a wicked teaching.

    Hey ELB,

The Hebrew word I see is helel (shining one), If I recall correctly, I believe the translators had trouble with this because Jesus is referred to as the bright and morning star in Revelation 22:16. They struggled with how to translate this proverb against the king of Babylon. The word Lucifer is from two Latin words 'lucem ferre', derived from roots LUX (light) and FERRE (to carry). I believe Greek is phosphoros or eosphoros.

I will not get into all the folklore, cultures, and myths but Lucifer was a name for the planet Venus, which is the brightest in the morning, but it was also called the evening star. Forgive me if I am wrong, someone else that has done a better study on this may can give you a better answer.

    God bless,

    RLW

Same with the Devil--he--unlike GOD--through the beautiful people that he USES--are in a constant state of "marketing," and false ADVERTISING!

If he were so powerful--instead of being COMPLETELY UNDERNEATH GOD--having to go to GOD for permission....

Who does GOD ask permission of?

From whom does GOD get GOD's power from?

    Who does GOD answer to?

Who tells GOD what to do?

    Who controls GOD?

Satan is like an insecure woman going around telling everyone how pretty she is, while GOD's greatness speaks for itself! Satan is teaching through his children--to fear him! But again...He whom Satan fears...

To put it like this: who barks more...the little yappy insecure dog to make himself SEEM "bigger" than what he is...or the big, muscular, secure within himself dog...? I grew up around a lot of dogs--so I know the answer. Small dogs are more dangerous to people, because they bite in their fear and insecurity, because they KNOW that they are weak--so they are on the defensive more than a big fella who knows his strength, power, might!

Read your Holy Bible--the TRUTH of GOD--you loading up your soul with the fruits and vegetables of what's REAL, and ETERNITY, may help you with "the cares of THIS world," fear from the bites of any yappy dogs, and help quiet the ring of any more marketing calls, trying to solicit donations of attention being paid to the unclean which KNOWS who is to TRULY be feared ..but...for a time..will be allowed to lie!

Also, Peter and the others were scared of spirits--remember when they cried out, when they thought YOUR Savior and King, Jesus was? But, too, remember, that GOD hath not given you a spirit of fear! Just marketing...! Just like the deceptions on the screens in movie theaters: big special effects, because it's to beat you down into fearing an insecure LOWERCASE god .... You ...belong to the Only UPPERCASE GOD!

SEE how much smaller that little g, is to the big G? If heaven is His throne, and the Earth is His footstool....
  • Anon Prayer - In Reply - 3 years ago
    I have prayed for you!

Fear not! GREATER is HE that is (now) in thee...than he that is in the world! Remember that he that is in the world--Satan, Lucifer, the Devil--had to ask GOD for permission to do anything to Job, and it was ONLY after BEGGING GOD for permission...was Satan THEN allowed to do SOME things to Job...but even then...GOD placed restraint around said granted permission, and use of power!

GOD is ALL powerful! Therefore, ALL power ...is GOD's power! He has allowed HIS power to be given to whom HE has allowed it--for their betterment or for eternal or temporal (and sadly, for some, perhaps BOTH) detriment!

The devils fear and tremble before GOD! They KNOW who the LORD Jesus Christ is, according to Matthew, and THEY call him the Son of GOD! Even the Pharisees and the chief priests didn't know Christ, but King Nebuchadnezzar knew Him from afar--His very form--when he witnessed "the Son of GOD" walking in the midst of the very fiery furnace that he--the king--had just thrown the 3 men CHRIST delivered from harm...while in the LITERAL midst OF danger!

"...even the winds and the SEA obey Him!"is what the men on the ship exclaimed when the Lord Jesus Christ commanded the wind and the waves overpowering the ship to be still...after He was awoken from His nap by said men, who--though not realizing the magnitude of His power--had the mustard seed of faith to at least run to Him and ask Him to do SOMETHING!

Great is His power! Devils need to deceive the world to fear them--with vain shows of scary pointlessness. But people call upon the All Powerful...He not only HAS power ..but He CREATED power! He created those devils, familiar spirits, unclean spirits, and the countless beautiful human beings that they infest and sully (hopefully temporarily, ONLY).

Think of one the outwardly prettiest, famous or unknown women that you know. Do these women have to walk around, constantly telling people how pretty they are? NO! Same with the Satan--

    The Kingdom of God.

    Part 2of ?

    Here's an article.

In Luke 17:20-21, Jesus says, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you"

The context of Jesus' statement is a question put to Him by His Pharisee detractors who had asked when the kingdom of God would come (verse 20).

Jesus' answer was that the kingdom of God was not coming in the manner the Pharisees were expecting. The kingdom would not be inaugurated with spectacle or splendor; there would be no great and magnificent leader who staked out a geographical claim and routed the Romans; rather, the kingdom would come silently and unseen, much as leaven works in a batch of dough (see Matthew 13:33). In fact, Jesus says, the kingdom had already begun, right under the Pharisees' noses. God was ruling in the hearts of some people, and the King Himself was standing among them, although the Pharisees were oblivious to that fact.

Various translations render the Greek of Luke 17:21 various ways. The phrase translated "within you" in the KJV and NKJV is translated as "in your midst" in the NIV, NASB, and NET; "among you" in the NLT and HCSB; and "in the midst of you" in the ESV. Earlier versions of the NIV had "within you" with a marginal note suggesting "among you." There is obviously a difference between saying "the kingdom of God is within you" and "the kingdom of God is among you."

Within you" comes off as an unfavorable translation, seeing that Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees at the time. Jesus was surely not saying that the kingdom of God resided within the Pharisees' hearts. The Pharisees opposed Jesus and had no relationship with God. Jesus in other places denounced them as "whitewashed tombs" and "hypocrites" ( Matthew 23:27).

    See Part 3.

Hello! I just signed up for the KJV Bible online. I was raised on the KJVI've been a believer 55 years, but took to reading a modern text several years ago. However, I am now back to the KJV primary because I learned Scripture in the KJV and have not been successful at memorizing a different translation. So I will be refreshing my memory with verses I love in the translation I love!

Melonie asks who we trust because her heart has been broken? God is Faithful!!!!
  • Mike Jasper - 3 years ago
We live in a time when trust is one of the most treasured of emotional and financial supports. Trust, which is an asset, valuable, and moral correctness which accents the person's personality and attitude is sought by so many. However, what we see today is just the opposite! who can be trusted? Temptation is running rampant upon the earth, however, how do we look to invest in the church when temptation from within the church is based today on business models which dictate many of the churches and greed is running rampant within people who work within the church? God is Faithful? Who do we trust in the world??? That is my Question Please comment!

Because of what Jesus said in Matt 22 I believe angels do not have the ability to have sex with humans.

    Matthew 22:30

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we live in a time when God is visible through his creations in my interpretation and opinion of John 21 KJV I would suggest that God is faithful to those who seek him. We live in a time where there are all kinds of temptations many of which some suggest are new under the sun. I think man's creations allowed by God are new under the sun, however God is still in control and mankind is seeking to be in charge of his destiny however miracles still happen, and God is speaking through Jesus our savior to surrender our temptations and discipline ourselves to the world through helping others, spreading the Gospel, praising God and using the resources of the Earth his creation for the good of mankind. Greed has become more a part of the human spirit than sacrifice and surrender. It plainly states in the Bible that is better to give than to receive however we look for wealth that is everlasting and this kind of wealth can only be given by God through eternal life, I would prefer to live with God forever than to have riches which last for a short time which is the basis of Jesus teachings how can I gain eternal life. Ladies and Gentlemen, we still live in a time when new drugs and treatments that preserve and destroy life have become known to man, the Bible speaks of becoming weaker and wiser, but perfection is not known to man only God has perfection due to being the creator of all things. Mankind must realize without his spirit he is dead. Amen
