Hi Terri, I concur with Chris and would like to add this verse that Paul was unmarried, wrote many books of the Bible, and was one of the most effective Christian evangelists in history. It certainly wasn't an obstacle for serving the Lord. 1 Corinthians 7:8

I'm battling health problems myself right now but know that I'm praying for your family and your precious momma. God is in control. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. I love and appreciate you too GiGi.

Yes Heavenly Father please be merciful. Heal this marriage. Let no man put asunder what You have joined together. It is not good for a man to be alone. We agree together in Jesus name amen

    LaTonya,

I hope you are feeling well today. I am always happy to pray for you.

I have a request for you. My Mom is in the hospital (11 days now) due to severe sepsis. She is 88 and my siblings and I are taking turns being with her in the hospital as she is being treated. The plan is for her to come home to her house when discharged and we will care for her until she needs hospice services. So, it seems that the Doctors and my two sisters (who are power of attorneys) believe that she will not recover from this and soon be called home by Jesus. I have 9 siblings. Half of us want her to go to a skilled medical rehab facility before coming home and half want her to come straight home. So our vote was 5 to 5. I was in the first group as I would rather visit my Mom there in her last days rather than care for a person that is so fragile, and will be on oxygen and IV antibiotics when discharged. My two sisters who are POA's are in the second group, wanting Mom to come home to die with us caring for her and they made the final determination according to their viewpoint.

So, I realize that my Mom may have only a short number of days left unless God sustains her and brings a promising recovery. I am ready for that. But I just don't feel comfortable being so fatalistic about her outcome. So, pray for my Mom's situation. We all love her very much but have very differing ideas about what is appropriate and most compassionate care for her.

I was up at the hospital today with her and my oldest sister (who is a POA). We worked well together making sure Mom is comfortable, is fed her meals (as much as she can eat as she tires with just taking a bite), taking notes for the family, adjusting her position in bed, etc. I am very comfortable doing this. But the thought of caring for her in her critical condition outside of a medically staffed facility bothers me a great deal. I don't feel qualified to give the medical care she will need at her home. Neither are my siblings. Pray

Hello Terri. The Scripture that speaks of what you're asking is in 1 Timothy 3:12: "Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well."

I understand that this verse does not necessarily imply that deacons (as with elders) must be married. Rather, that to hold such offices in the Church there should be no evidence of any polygamy or having been in a divorce, that his marriage & devotion must only be towards his wife & none else. Of course, marriage was the preferred state to be in (for various reasons in such a ministry), but being single should not disqualify a deacon from holding that office.

In Gen 6, the Word makes it clear that "fallen" (angels or men) had sex with women who bore them sons, which were giants, and the population of giants took off and became large. Why can't people simply believe what is written?
  • Maria - In Reply on Genesis 9 - 3 years ago
Genesis 9:4 refers to all animals. God is giving Adam a rule that if he wants to eat an animal, he is not to eat the animal's blood, because the blood is the life of the animal that sustains it.

God does communicate with us through his word in the Bible. his word is alive, he says "I am the way, the truth and the life." "He who believes in me shall not perish but have everlasting life." also, he states in John 14:15 If you love, me keep my commandments.

We only have to believe in his word then we will fully understand that he is talking to us. those that seek him, he is calling them. We have to keep his commandments in our hearts " Exodus 20," then repent of all our wrongdoing, then little by little he will talk to your heart and will prepare you to fully understand his wonderful love.

Yes! the Angels are present even though you may not see them when you believe in the Gospel. They are holy spirits who minister under God and are messengers and deliver God's people from danger just like how Psalm 91:11 says.

I stand on Psalm 50:15 and Romans 8 and all the other promises in your word pertaining to the situation I have been lifting up to you. Please intervene powerfully. You know the circumstances. Please act now Lord. We need you. Please do the same for all others in need. All praise to you. I pray in your holy and mighty name. Amen.

The Sabbath is a commandment of God. In the book of " Exodus 20" the 4th commandment. It says "remember to keep the Sabbath, six days you shall do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath, you shall keep it holy unto your God. Sunday is the first day of the week. the Sabbath starts from sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday.

It helps if you describe briefly what kind of warfare you're going through. It can be physical, mental or emotional or spirits.

I went through the whole list. With Jesus inside of you, "they" know their time is over. Satan will accuse that you are not saved! That hurts but is not the Truth. I tell everyone to write the date of salvation in your Bible. "It is written!"

    LUKE 11:24-26

Christ sends the evil spirits away. But if we neglect feeding on the Bible frequently; building up our most holy faith..

The spirits may return: Luke 11:24-26 (the stronger man is Jesus 11:21). You must furnish yourself with Bible, Praise, and Assembling with the church folk)

    A reading list for you:

    Ephesians 6

    * Acts 19:19

    Galatians 3:13

    Luke 6:28

    Matthew 5:44

    Ephesians 2:13

The angels are sent by God, so we can ask in prayer for their presence in our homes. Act on the promises of the Lord. God wants us to go on from being milk fed baby Christians, to stand up and be warriors of FAITH in ahi's Word.

Commandments; if they were a NATURAL thing to do wouldn't need the Spirit of God to accomplish; merely our own efforts.

The meaning behind the commandments that Christ illustrates; such as that of lust and murder clearly point out the intentions of our heart as being part of what is within that produces BAD fruit in unregenerate men.

Cutting right to the chase; as Zechariah 3:3 and other verses state we have filthy garments when sin has contaminated us; and it seems clear even as believers this can happen. Our righteous deeds are as filthy rags ( Isaiah 64:6) and we need to understand that all of our love and affections also are self centered without Christ. Once we recognize our helpless state; then we can as Isaiah state "woe to me; I am undone." ( Isaiah 6:5). At that point then we can BEGIN to do the works of righteousness He has prepared for us from the foundation of the earth ( Eph. 2:10).

Then; of course we have to heed to sins not just of commission but OMISSION. And also avoiding things that are grey areas that may offend a brother or if we know to do good and don't do it is sin ( James 4:17). We can therefore; never do the law perfectly; and it must be done with the Holy Spirit within us.

Without the Spirit; even those things which are specifically warned against will; as man becomes increasingly blind be succumbed to; as wickedness increases; consciousness becomes seared even Israel was seduced to follow foreign gods warned against and they sacrificed their children to Molech; and worshipped idols. The teachers of the law became hypocrites; "sons of hell" as Jesus referred them to. And we can't follow the 1st Commandment on our own strength; or love the law as Psalm 119 the longest psalm in scripture indicates in the whole passage. Yes; as Christians if we love Him we obey His commandments.

We also TRUST God that these are what is best for us; even if as with human fathers it is not enjoyable in the short term.

    Agape.

Adam is the father of Cain. He is the father of all humanity, read the book of Genesis in the Bible. God, the everlasting Father, made all things good for the purpose of man's happiness here on earth. Sin was first introduced to Adam and Eve by the devil, because of their disobedience to God, when God told them specifically not to eat a certain fruit in the garden of Eden. this was why the sin perpetrated to his son Cain.

    Richard:

Revelation 22:2 .....the LEAVES are for the healing of the nations ....

    Parable:

Christ is the ROOT, we are the BRANCHES, branches bear leaves, the saints are for the healing of the nations.

Matthew 24:32 ......PARABLE ......When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth LEAVES, you now summer is nigh.

And what follows summer, FALL when the crop is HARVESTED, feast of ingathering.

Isaiah 6:13 .....when they cast their LEAVES; the HOLY SEED shall be the substance thereof.

    God Bless You!

Of course no one knows; surely it could have been ANY type of red fruit.

If we take a closer look at the fruit for the healing of the nations ( Rev 22:2); we see fruit that seems to come out every month.

From a purely scientific viewpoint; that which would be the combination of attributes of all generations which is the ancestral species would likely have the most number of nutrients; and of course the original tree of life which was restricted immediately after the fall likely was of a substance which would allow for eternal life with the original pure composition.

One could look at this tree in some ways as bringing eternal death; much in the same way but opposite of the tree of life.

Clearly the restriction from that tree allowed Adam not to have to live forever in his original fallen state and allowed for the promise of Christ and the 2nd Adam; as it were to be the future of all believers. Whether Adam made it or not isn't clear from scripture; as no mention of him is in Hebrews 11; for example.

So as to what it was is a mystery. Somehow; it allowed for the initial deterioration of human DNA and death to not only affect man but also the whole creation and for perhaps the moon and stars to become impure in His sight. There certainly is a physical component even to Hades; and certainly to hell.

It really is too awful to think about for any length of time. If Adam did make it to heaven; he will have the conscience that because of him and Eve all saints have had to suffer greatly. What a legacy. Thank God that there is something stronger; and the enemy no longer has power over the death of man restricting him from heaven (to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord now; Hallelujiah.) God may create circumstances and entities that turn evil; as well as understand good and evil; but must judge all iniquity with His wrath. Only Christ could become the curse for us hanging on the tree; much like the serpent on the pole in Numbers.

Not sure if you are saying can they be bothered IF you are going through spiritual warfare; or if anyone wishes to give wise counsel on the subject.

As to help; of course you need to be in a place where you repent of known sin and are truly seeking to walk in the Spirit; not just to avoid the consequences of your actions as the enemy is allowed to mess with you perhaps accusing you of areas which you have not placed under the blood; as it were trusting God for deliverance. If you are at that point; it is good to trust God to bring those who are Spirit filled and discerning to bring deliverance when needed. Fellowship at any true church if not part of your life should be sought out. Don't worry so much in trying to find someone who is on the outside appearing to be more "Charismatic" as it were. There are servants equipped to come to your aid; an in fact may themselves be in need to pray for you to be strengthened in the Spirit. When we help others in the Body of Christ it truly helps us; as no matter how weak we may be in the flesh; the Spirit has an endless amount of resources available. Also be careful who NOT to associate with or even pray with; should they have a demonic spirit or not give Godly counsel. The Lord will speak to you on those issues.

There rarely exists spiritual warfare alone without extenuating emotional; abuse; or other conditions affecting the mind; body and soul. A big part of achieving freedom is having the fear of death removed; no one can touch you unless God allows it. There are times; of course when people need to step in; obviously this goes beyond the bounds of how I can help you here.

I will keep you in prayer for now; if there is anything specific I suppose you can write a response for targeted prayer again; within parameters allowed here.

Lastly; set forth time and effort to help set OTHERS free. Don't assume your brokenness renders you ineffective; surely the enemy doesn't want you to minister to others.

The Apocrypha consists of giants and THE CHALDEANS.

It has no bearing on the story of Jesus Christ. The SUBJECT of the Bible is about JESUS CHRIST. It is Jesus's story alone, all by itself; from Genesis to Revelation.
