Sister Suze, your thoughts are not you own, but of God, this is how he teaches us.

He brings questions into our minds, then give us recollections of scriptures to answer the question.

1 John 2:27 The ANOINTING IN YOU will teach you all things ....you have no need that man teach you anything......

Trust in Christ for you answers, not man.

I know you do this, thought it might help others reading this.

    God Bless You!

True Christians are not in danger of losing their salvation because of sin but false religionists are still in sin and will never be saved if they fail to seek the Lord for forgiveness. Lost sinners do not 'lose their salvation' because they never had salvation to begin with.

If Christians must maintain good works after they are saved then their salvation becomes a matter of their own efforts and good works, which is impossible. What sin is so bad that a Christian could lose his salvation and election over, adultery? Theft? Lying? Murder? Being late to work?

James let me give ya my take on the Elect...Old Israel was Gods chosen ppl the elect BUT under the New Covenant it the H.G our new innerman that has to be born in us via the seed of Christ..James we must birth a new innerman. 10 times in the N.T. it speaks of us having to birth a new innerman which is the H.G... As Jesus said that which is born of the spirit is spirit thats the H.G. that Child of PROMISE...As we have borne the image of the earthy we must also bear the image of the heavenly which is the H.G. the New ELECT...OUR NEW MAN...Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision ( not jew or gentile ) but a new creature...which is the H.G Our new Innerman...the New Elect...Ya gotta realize that if old israel were still the Elect they wd not need to be BORNAGAIN OF AN INCORUPTIBLE SEED...But Jesus told Nic a Jew a teacher of the law he wd have to be bornagain...Which means there is a new Covenant in place a new man is in town...Which is Christ in you

a new Creature...If any man be in Christ Jesus he is a NEW Creature...Now under this New Covenant there is a new Elect which is Christ in you the hope of glory....Every place in the O.T. where it speaks of a heavenly Jacob thats not old Israel thats the New Israel the Israel of God...the NEW Elect is Spirit the H.G..The Children of PROMISE that is gonna be as the stars of heaven in multitude...We can be the Elect ONLY if we are a JOINT HEIR with Christ... Gal 4 : 1

.... Romans 9 : 8 Not all Israel is Israel that is the Children of the Flesh these are not the Children of God...The Elect...Its the Children of PROMISE that are counted for the good seed the Elect ...Who are the Children of Promise...The H.G. is the CHILD of Promise...That is born in us via the seed of Christ..Thus its the H.G that is the new Elect the Child of PROMISE...

....Thats y we must be bornagain of an incorruptible seed even by the word of God, We must birth a NEW INERMAN which is the H.G. The Child of PROMISE...The Elect..

The Bible does not portray the Church as steadily growing from infancy like a tree that eventually covers the whole earth with Christ. According to the prophecy of Revelation 3 we see churches declining with time and some even dying. The last church mentioned, representing the condition of the church just before Christ returns, is the church of Laodecia where we see Christ standing on the outside seeking to make contact with some on the inside. That is not a good picture like a giant tree full of branches with the world resting in Christ.

31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:

32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

If we assume the picture here is one of good growth with all men or all men of all nations in the end dwelling in or under the branches of the full-grown body we must identify certain aspects of the narrative. For example, this picture cannot be one in which the kingdom of Israel blossoms in continual growth from the days of Abraham until the millennial kingdom of the Lord, so we must assume the picture here is one of steady growth of the church until at the end all nations become Christians or people from all nations become Christians.

But that scenario conflicts with what Jesus said of the decline of the Church towards the end in which it will be asked again, shall He find faith on earth in the end?

    Luke 18:8

I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Christianity will not be blossoming greatly in the end just before Jesus returns, but evil will be all but out of control instead.

    Matthew 24:22

And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

    He does.

1st through creation, our very breath, heartbeat, vision, taste, smell, every flower, tree, sunset, sunrise, the oxygen we breathe, every beautiful creature, every created thing. He made & gave us trust to keep it. Through HIS creation HE speaks to us. If we choose to listen. Through the seasons & sunrise, sunsets we see He is faithful. Through domestic animals we see HIS compassion. In life we see hope. All given by GOD!

2nd His WORD the Bible, is GOD speaking through HIS people, 2Timothy 3:16, to us, all that are willing to read it.

3rd GOD has spoken through HIS Prophets: Jeremiah 7:25, & HIS people

4th Through JESUS The Messiah John 3:15-16,

5th Through the HOLY Spirit that was promised by JESUS to all who believe: Ephesians 1:13, John 14:26, Luke 11:13,

Sometimes in our most difficult moments in life we want GOD to speak to us outloud. In those times we need a quiet voice of comfort, which we can find in HIS WORD, in prayer, all around creation if we seek HIM. The voice of GOD recorded in scripture is like thunder, many accounts it makes those who've heard it tremble in fear. Exodus 19:9,16,18,19, Job 37:5, Psalms 77:18, John 12:28,29,

I hope you will hear GOD more clearly

    Hopefully this is helpful

Dear Alex , just this second read your post so this is from my , not very good memory , didn't David wear a linen ephod when he brought the Ark of the Covenant into Jerusalem ? The only other time a linen ephod is mentioned is in regard to the High Priests or Levites garments I believe . Also , colours have meaning in the Bible , I believe that red represents sinful flesh , blue the priest hood and purple is the king . How do we get purple ? By mixing blue and red , what colour was the robe that the Romans put on Jesus ? Purple , blue priesthood , red sinful flesh mixed together make purple royalty . Just my wandering thoughts this morning . Hope you have a great day , much love in Christ .

  • Grow up from the Milk to the Meat of Gods Word - In Reply - 3 years ago
When a child is very young, they can only consume milk. Foods with more substance are beyond them; they can only process something specifically meant for infants. In the same way, those who are spiritually immature can only deal in simpler spiritual matters. This is not bad, when a person is a new convert. However, if a person remains in this state of spiritual infancy, when they should have grown enough to handle more solid spiritual "food," then they have only themselves to blame ( Ephesians 4:11-15). According to the writer of Hebrews, his target audience is going to miss some of the deeper meanings he will describe ( Hebrews 5:11), since they are "dull of hearing." In this context, that "dullness" means laziness and apathy.

Just as a child has to be trained to grow beyond milk to eating solid food, so too must a Christian's spiritual maturity grow through effort and experience. The prior verse used the term apeiros to describe these spiritual babies, meaning they are inexperienced or unskilled. Spiritual maturity has nothing to do with age, since it's possible to remain an immature Christian for a long, long time. Rather, maturity involves developing the ability to put our faith to practical USE.

In the context of the book of Hebrews, this has everything to do with making a purposeful effort. It requires that a person "pay much closer attention" to the faith ( Hebrews 2:1). It means Christians are to follow God's will without fear and without disobedience ( Hebrews 4:11). Maturity requires that a person learn to use our greatest spiritual tool, the Word of God ( Hebrews 4:12), in order to aid our discernment. The end result, according to this verse, is a person who can distinguish between good and evil. This is about more than just moral dilemmas-it's also a reference to knowing the difference between truthful, godly teaching and worldly, false faith.

It is also producing the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

    Galatians 5.

It helps if you'll go on Google, type in the scripture, and then type COMMENTARY.

BibleHub will have several commentaries. I like that one. It's alot of reading sometimes but you will definitely understand that passage when done.

Remember there is a special blessing on us (from the Lord) every time we read the Book of Revelation, chapter 1:3

    Hi James.

    Are you talking about Romans

    11:5-7?

"Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded."

    If so that's Israel.

    Mathew 24:24.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

These verses seems to suggest the same.

Vs 16: Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

Vs 20: But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

    Daniel 12:1.

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for THE CHILDREN OF THY PEOPLE: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

The children of Daniels people is Israel.

Israel is also called Gods elect throughout the Scripture.

    Isaiah 45:4.

For Jacob my servant's sake, and ISRAEL MINE ELECT, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.

    Isaiah 65:9.

And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.

    PARALLEL VERSES.

    Isaiah 65:22.

They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

    Jeremiah 30:7.

Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

    God bless.

An interesting read about the end time , notice 3.20 at the end of the book of prophecy .

At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you; for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes , saith the Lord .

This is yet future . And only a remnant . Israel is restored and Gods promises complete .

    Hi Giannis.

Here we have those who wanted the Gentiles to be circumcised. A seal "Binding them to the law."

And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

    And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

    Acts 15:7-11.

Did you catch what Peter said? He says we "Jews" shall be saved even as they "Gentiles" you would think it should be the other way around!! reminds you of Romans 11:25-26. Then James put it in sequence here in vs 16.

After this I WILL RETURN, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

    This is all future.

    Concerning Judas.

    John 18:9.

That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.

Judas had done already betrayed Jesus, but yet Jesus I have lost none!

Judas was never chosen to sit on the twelve thrones, Every time he was mentioned we were reminded that he was going to betray Jesus. Jesus called him a devil and a their BEFORE he betrayed him. He was never saved.

    God bless you Giannis

I will be talking to you tomorrow.

Hi Rutendo. We're not told specifically why Zebedee didn't join his sons to follow Jesus, but I suspect that a good reason would be that Zebedee wasn't called by Jesus to join Him. Jesus knew which men were to be selected to be His disciples, even as He chose Judas Iscariot who would betray Him ( John 6:70,71), so even though there were many other disciples of Jesus (those who followed Him around), only 12 were specifically selected to be with Him continually & Zebedee wasn't one of them.

Others here might have other thoughts why Zebedee continued with repairing the nets & going about his business - though he probably felt the extra workload upon him, being short of helping hands. Anyway, he probably realized then, or soon after, that this call by Jesus upon his sons, was far more important than trying to prevent them from joining Jesus.
