    James:

The kingdom of God arrived 2000 years ago.

The kingdom of God is WITHIN YOU.

Colossians 1:27 ... this mystery Christ in you ....

Christ's First Coming was in the flesh, a ministery of three and a half years.

Christ SECOND COMING was in SPIRIT (LIFE), in the form of the Holy Ghost, like a thief in the night.

You PASSOVER, death has passed over you and you have been given eternal LIFE and that LIFE IS CHRIST.

... This mystery... Christ in you ......

Matthew 13:31 The kingdom of heaven IS LIKE (not actual) a grain of mustard SEED ...

Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The SEED is the WORD OF GOD (CHRIST).

..... which a man took (the man Jesus Christ), and sowed in his field.

Matthew 13:38 The field is the world.

Matthew 13:32 Which (the SEED) indeed is the least of all SEEDS: but when it (the SEED) is grown, it (the SEED) is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a TREE (of LIFE)....

The kingdom of God is THIS TREE (of LIFE).

..... so that the birds (fowls) of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

John 15:5 Ye are the branches ....

Luke 13:9 ....and the fowls of the air (the devil) lodged in the branches of it (the tree).

Luke 8:5 and some fell by the way side.... and the fowls of the air devoured it (the SEED)......

Luke 8:12 Those by the way side, are those that hear, then cometh the DEVIL (fowls of the air), and taketh away THE WORD (the SEED)....

Psalms 104:12 By them (the springs of water, living water) shall the fowls of heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.

Ezekiel 17:23 In the mountain the height of Israel will I plant it (the SEED), and it (the SEED) shall bring forth boughs (branches), and bear fruit (SEED), and be a goodly cedar (tree), and UNDER IT (the tree) shall dwell every fowl of ever wing, in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.

The devil WILL BE SHAKEN out of the branches of the kingdom of God (the TREE OF LIFE).

Matthew 12:28 If I CAST OUT devils by the Spirit of God (LIFE and TRUTH) then the kingdom of GOD is come unto you.

    God Bless You!

Ephesians 2:8-9 for by grace are you saved through faith and not of yourself. It is the gift of and not of works lest any man should boast.

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Hebrews 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are par takers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

1 Corinthians 5:5 To deliver such an one unto satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Let me be clear, under NO circumstances is sin ok for anyone to practice. Sin is what separated man from God in the first place. It is why God sent JESUS.

This gentleman was doubting his salvation because he believes he is addicted to pain meds. I walked this road with a husband who is a Christian and who was in severe pain on a daily basis. He did not set out to be on pain medications, but this is one of the leading causes of addiction. I don't know all the details, but I don't have to know them either, because God does. What I do know is that God is greater than anything we will ever face, sin or otherwise.

I am not a doctor, medications and the taking of medications are between this man and his doctor. That is for him to continue to address. He however needs help both naturally and spiritually. But clearly he has hit a roadblock that is now affecting his soul. My response addresses the condition of the soul.

God said, if you make your bed in hell I'm there. So my point is no matter what position you find yourself in, don't run from God, or be afraid about how you ended up there, BUT RUN TO HIM, and if you read the entire prayer you would see that. Jesus said "he that comes to me, I will in no wise cast out." When we come to him, we are really coming to the "Truth" Proverbs 33:4 says "The word of the Lord is right, and ALL God's works are done in Truth." God rescues those that come to Him in Truth. The bible says in John 1:17. Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ. Grace is God's ability and Truth is the force that ignites God's ability. We will ALWAYS get a response from God when we come to Him in TRUTH.

Matthew 13:33 Another parable spake he (Christ) unto them; the Kingdom of Heaven IS LIKE LEAVEN

Would this leaven, in this parable, be GOOD or would it be BAD, since it is like the kingdom of heaven.

    Leaven is itself a PARABLE.

The truth is, if you leaven the lump with the kingdom of heaven, then it leavens the whole lump (good).

If you leaven the lump with the leaven of the Pharisees, then it leavens the whole lump (bad).

The point is to be aware of the leavening you are using.

    God Bless You!

The signs are here though I believe that we are at the very beginning. Not saying we have entered the 70th week but the way things are going on, rumors of wars, supply chain issues and the COVID almost as the dry run for all other diseases to follow, one may want to take stock of what and how they should prepare as more serious events take place around us.
  • Erich - In Reply on Romans 8 - 2 years ago
Hi ELB, I appreciate the follow up. However, the warnings of God in the OT, whether it is prophecy or not, need to be taken seriously at all times. God is unchanging and consistent. His holy character and nature did not just change from OT to NT. While we stand on our faith in Christ and His atoning blood, we stand on our faith. To renounce Christ as a follower and assume we are still "saved" is a complete mockery of the suffering he endured for sinners. He saved us from sin, not in spite of sin. and, we have a free will to continue with him, or not. However, according to 1 John 2: 24-25 if we don't continue in the Son we will not continue in the Father, and will not inherit eternal life.

Again, I just ask why Paul wrote in Romans 2 "Who will render to every man according to his deeds:To them who by patient CONTINUANCE in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, ETERNAL LIFE:" if we are unconditionally secure. Don;t get me wrong, I love the idea of unconditional eternal security, but, it just don't line up with scripture in it's proper context.

    Dear brother

You are right about the prophesy of Isaiah, it is sbout Christ's thousand year reign. But who are the saints that will take part in that?

    Let's read Revelation 20:4

"4 - And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years."

Reading the above verse It is obvious that the ones who will reign with Jesus are those who resisted antichrist and didn't get the mark and got beheaded. I think that among these people there should be Jewish people as well but not only them.

The prophesy in Matthew 24: is often attributed by some christians to the siege of Jerusalem by Romans but could be for the one by the beast as well.

Hi Marke, thanks for the follow up. John 3:9 is not a OSAS verse. The one who is walking with Christ "can't sin" because they are covered by the blood of Christ. However, you can't ignore 1 John 1:7 "But IF we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." Only by walking with Christ will his blood cleanse us. This is not a guarentee that a Christian can't be moved away from the hope of Eternal Life, as stressed by Paul in Romans 2 and Galations 6. In addition to that, 1 Jn 2:24-25 lays out the condition for eternal life, which is abiding and continuing in the Son. We ware warned to remain in Christ. If we were eternally secure all these verses would read "the one who is in Christ will remain in Christ", but, it doesn't. There is the if/then condition, which is clearly salvation related.

Take the parable of the 10 virgins. All 10 started with the oil in their lamps, which oil represents the Hoyl Spirit. 5 were foolish and not on tending to their oil lamps. They let it burn out and were rejected at the door by the bride-groom, representing Christ on the last day. Even though he said "depart from me, I never knew you" doesn't mean they never had the oil! They just let their oil run out. Christ, Paul, James, John, Peter, and all the writers of the OT all echoed the same thing. One who starts their journey with God MUST stay the course. If they don't then they won't go to heaven.

Hello, I noticed your comment below and feel led to respond. I'm sure you mean well and are trying to be encouraging, but it's a possibility that some are badly harming themselves and don't need to be enabled and encouraged to continue.

    >Don't feel guilty because you are taking medication. Instead of allowing the devil to shame you.

If a person abusing himself nearly to the point of suicide and you tell him not to feel bad about it, it might not really helping him. I don't think its right to encourage anyone to abuse or deface God's holy temple. Feeling bad about sin isn't allowing the devil to shame you, Christians should feel bad about sin already. God gives us guilt for a reason, and is healthy sign for us to stop it. God hates sin and if we do violate God's commands I don't think other Christians should encourage us to disobey God and sin. Your prayer and other suggestions I believe are supportive. God bless.

    Reply to Erich.

A Christian becomes a new creature when born-again. There are certain sins that Christians are no longer capable of committing, such as denying the Lord that bought them.

    1 John 3:9

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

    Erich,

You have thanked me twice, you have told me that you value my insight and follow up, and you say that you love a friendly dialog. However, a dialog is no longer a friendly dialog once a person starts attacking other believers and accusing them of twisting scripture to fit their agenda. What agenda? A believer with an agenda would be one who can easily fall into heresy. I personally have no agenda. I have nothing to prove to you or anyone else. I am secure in Christ. If you're not, then I am sorry to hear that.

Like you, I also love a friendly dialog. If you wish to discuss scripture with me, I am happy to remain in discussion. But if you're going to start attacking me or others who are secure in Jesus Christ, then I will disengage myself from your "friendly dialog." If you believe you can lose your salvation, and I am not talking about anyone else but you personally, if you believe (you) can lose your salvation, I have no problem with that, no problem at all!

The picture of the fowls in the heavens dwelling in the 'majestic branches' of the mustard weed corresponds to the picture of Egypt in Ezekiel 31 exalting herself like a green bay tree, spreading her branches over all nations as she exalted itself among men.

2 Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?

3 Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.

4 The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.

5 Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.

6 All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.

7 Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters.

8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chestnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.

9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.

    10 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

11 I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.

    In answer to ELB

    Matthew 13

    King James Version

32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

The parable of the mustard seed follows the parable of the tares.

24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

The leaven and the tares are speaking of corruption sown in the lives of Christians and the Church. These are elements of evil and speak of false professions of faith. The mustard seed is small but it does not grow large except, as in this parable, it falsely presents itself as a giant in the faith with broadly spreading towering branches with room for the fouls of heaven to lodge in. Here is what the mustard tree really is:

    Understand the Weed Issue

It may be and seems largely accepted that the black mustard was the tree referenced in the Bible, but before planting it in your yard, you need to understand the weed issue. Black mustard is a winter annual weed in the mustard family.

I believe Isaiah 11 speaks to that. I believe that this chapter describes the thousand yr reign of Christ.

In the first half it talks of the wolf and the lamb, the child with the asp and the lion eating grass as the ox.

    Then, "in that day...".

The second half talks of the root of Jesse and how Jesus will set up his kingdom, having gathered his chosen people " again" and setting up Israel as an ensign to all the other nations. Remember in Matthew 24 Jesus warns those in Judea to run for the hills and to escape the city as the anti-christ lays siege to Jerusalem. At this time the nation scatters to other places. Then at Jesus'coming (in verses 29-31 I believe) the rapture. Then the battle of armogeddon. After all that comes the thousand yr reign of Christ.

At that time the nation of Israel will have their King and they will believe.

My dear brother in the Lord...NOTHING can separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus. Read Romans 8:38-39.

I have a word strategy to give you from the Word of the Lord. He said in Proverbs 3:6 "...in ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path." "All your ways" means whether you are walking in His will or have walked outside of it.

You are a believer and you are connected to Him, that is the reason you even care to ask this question. Because it concerns you. You know this is not his best, and you are reaching for the promise of His best which is in the life of Christ. Deliverance is yours so let's go to God and believe Him for your freedom. Freedom belongs to you in Christ.

Don't feel guilty because you are taking medication. Instead of allowing the devil to shame you. Let the shame return to the devil by holding up the medication to God and acknowledging the medication to God.

Pray and say "God, healing is not in this medication but healing is in your Word. You sent Your Word and healed them all, and that includes me. I use my voice to declare this. My dependency is not for medication, but my dependency is upon your Word. So even as I take this medication I ask you to bless it and make it fit for use, and remove from me any dependency for it. I put my trust in you. In Jesus Name. Amen.

ELB- You can't define disobedience? Negotiating what disobedience is can be very dangerous because it opens the door to willful sin and the assumption one's saved by a previous profession, as opposed to a walk with Christ. It's anything that goes contrary to God. We are told by Christ that HIS commands are to believe on Him and love one another. All god's commandments hinge on love. Christ is clear and unwavering that we MUST follow His commands, end of story. To say we love and follow Him, but, have hatred in our hearts is a demonstration that we walk in darkness. Let's look at 1 Jn 1:7 "But IF we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin". Notice that? ONLY by walking in the light will Christs ATONING blood cleanse us. We are not guaranteed "past, present & future" sins forgiven. Only past sins IF we walk in the way of Christ. Again, HE is the judge, not us. Paul is also clear in Heb. 5: 9 that Christ is the author of eternal life for all those who OBEY Him. Obeying is actually following Christ, not just systematically believing in facts about Him & assuming we have "free grace" and can never be "plucked" out of the hand of God.

Let's look at the OT, and please don't try and say that this was a different "dispensation" or that this has nothing to do with eternal life. This is salvation-based and demonstrates how God is never changing from Genesis through Revelation.

Ezk. 18: 20-21 "The SOUL that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. But if the wicked will TURN FROM ALL HIS SINS that he hath committed, and KEEP all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Also, please explain Gal. 6: 7-9 & Rom. 2: 6-8 if OSAS is true.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 2 years ago
    True, Justin,

There are no more apostles today. There are evangelists and missionaries taking the gospel to those places that need to hear the gospel, but they are not eye-witnesses of Jesus' resurrection, which all of the apostles were.
  • GiGi - In Reply on John 8:6 - 2 years ago
    Erich,

Thanks for your explanation. As a believer we all should be serious about imitating Christ in our behaviors. That is our primary call.

The Holy Spirit does correct us and urge us to return to this when we stray from obedience to His commands and fall into sinful behavior that weakens our resolve to refuse sinful temptations. I am not a OSAS person, but I do trust God has the power to keep me.

In regards to those who do fall away as not being truly saved, I do no hold to that. I have three sons who believed the gospel and trusted Jesus up into their early teens and walked away from Him. Do I tell them that even though they believed they were not really saved? To me this makes God out to be a liar and a trickster to our children who grow up in belief in Jesus and walk away. Would telling them that encourage them to want to put their trust in such a God like that?

I continue to pray for my sons to return to the Lord like the prodigal. I believe that God desires the same for them and will draw them back to him in His timing.

    I'm glad you asked!

Exodus 25, is where/when the Bible 1st describes the Ark of The Covenant / Testament. Exodus 26 is the detailed description of it's strict rules of being set within the holy place and the most holy, sanctified, behind the veil Exodus 26:33, then Exodus 30, Exodus 31, Exodus 35, Exodus 37, Exodus 39, Exodus 40,

Leviticus 16:2, is where the LORD warns, there are/were strict rules, even risk of life going before the Ark of The Covenant / testament,

Numbers 3 & Numbers 4, explains the care of the Ark & all things regarding the Temple; had dedicated people, & their children, that specifically looked after covering for items, even carrying them. Example: Numbers 4:5-15 note again threat of death in Numbers 4:15, & Numbers 4:16-20,

    Note Numbers 7:89, Deuteronomy 10:5,8, Deuteronomy 31:26, Joshua 3:13-17,

    1Samuel 5, 1Samuel 6, 1Samuel 6:19, remember the rules, GOD specifically said. 2Samuel 6:3-7, 1Chronicles 13:10, 1Chronicles 15:2-3, 1Chronicles 15:12-15, there are more examples._..if you would like more, let me know.

Significant that during the crucifixion of JESUS Christ our Savior that holy veil was torn: Mark 15:37-39, Luke 23:42-47, Matthew 27:50-51,

    Right David,

We can be like Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane asking God to take this cup away, but also say, not my will but His will be done.

We can pray to be accepting of His will no matter the answer and to be enabled to do His will when the answer comes.
