    Good afternoon,

    Although John did not write his gospel until late in his life, it is probably likely that he did write some things down either while with Jesus, or early after Pentecost. We just don't have these writings preserved. Who knows, perhaps John was a "record keeper" for the group while they were with Jesus. John founded many churches in Asia Minor. He must have written letters or preached at these, but the letters were not preserved over time. We just don't know.

    Yes, Steven,

    God isn't taken by surprise by any decision of man. His plan was determined before anything was created, and He is able to fulfill it with or without man's cooperation. Same is true of His covenant with Abraham. It was unconditional. So, not dependent upon anything man does or does not do. We should be careful not to diminish the our view of God's Sovereignty.

    God made a place for Israel in His plan AND for His church. We should be glad for this, embrace it, and pray for Israelites all over the world, not just Jews, but members of all the tribes, since the covenant was for all of Israel, not just Judah.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Hi Giannis,

    I think that one promise that is yet to be fulfilled is the gathering of the Israelites from all nations back to Israel. I believe the promise says that God will gather them back. I understand that to be a sovereign work of God, not by man's initiative.

    Please pray for deliverance for two different women who are both being victimized by controlling abusive relationships and aren't even the same outgoing women they used to be. There are children involved in both situations. It will take a move of God to free them

    What are the scriptures related to:

    1. Hearing from God personally.

    2. How to fear God?

    Please PLEASE pray for Sister Tasha, who had second chemotherapy and is feeling super drained and down hearted. Please pray for complete healing and uplifting spiritually. And merciful deliverance from all the chemo side effects that are making her so sick and His peace that passes all understanding. Also an unspoken request about the "relationship" she can't seem to get rid of. Please save him Jesus and/or send him away. Specifically. In Jesus name.

    Above all, let Your will be done in this situation.

    Rose I prayed and ask God to allow me to be a help to you,, there is no need to break any curse because Jesus Broke Every Curse that mattered on Calvary when He said "It is Finished",, i myself have had times when my faith has been shaken and i have heard of false teachers as well as false preaching, which claims that if you ever doubt your salvation,, you are lost. This is simply Not true, to me the best test of a True Believer is this ,,, "A TRUE BELIEVER WILL NEVER DENY THAT ONLY THROUGH CHRIST BLOOD CAN THEY BE SAVED",, so Rose i hope you ask God to give you final peace, not based on what any man told you but what You Truly Believe in your heart, the dying thief believed and was saved,, Only Believe, That Jesus is and is a rewarder of those who Believes in Him.
  • Commentary on Luke 2 - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Pulpit Commentary

    Verse 2. - And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days? It would seem that these Pharisees came from Jerusalem, and were no doubt privately commissioned to watch narrowly the acts of the new Teacher who was beginning to attract such general attention, and who already was openly setting at nought the numberless additions which the Jewish schools had added to the Law. Round the original "sabbath law" of Moses thirty-nine prohibitions had been laid down in the oral law; round these "thirty-nine" a vast number of smaller rules had grouped themselves. Amongst these greater and lesser sabbath restrictions were prohibitions against "reaping and threshing." Now, plucking ears of corn was defined to be a kind of "reaping," and rubbing the ears in the hands a kind of "threshing." "See," cried some of these spying Pharisees, "do thy disciples publicly break the sabbath, and dost thou not rebuke them?" The Lord's reply does not attempt to discuss what was and what was not lawful on the sabbath, but in broad terms he expounds the great doctrine respecting the significance, limits, and purpose of every law relating to outward acts, even in the event of that law having been given by God, which was not the case in the present alleged transgression. How rigidly the stricter Jews some fourteen or fifteen centuries later still kept these strained and exaggerated traditional sabbath-day restrictions, is shown in a curious anecdote of the famous Abarbanel, "when, in 1492, the Jews were expelled from Spain, and were forbidden to enter the city of Fez, lest they should cause a famine, they lived on grass; yet even in this state 'religiously avoided the violation of their sabbath by plucking the grass with their hands. To avoid this they took the much more laborious method of grovelling on their knees, and cropping it with their teeth!" Luke 6:2

    Ezekiel 8:10 Meaning and Commentary

    So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping

    things

    As beetles and others, worshipped for gods: and abominable beasts;

    unclean ones; not only oxen, but dogs and cats, and other impure creatures; for such were the gods of the Egyptians, from whom the Jews took their deities: and all the idols of the house of Israel;

    which were many, even as numerous as their cities: portrayed upon the wall round about;

    the pictures of them were drawn and placed around the wall of the room or chamber; and where they were worshipped by the PRIESTS and LEVITES, and members of the SANHEDRIN ; and this was not in one chamber only, but in many, as appears from ( Ezekiel 8:12 ).

    Then the man in linen with the writing kit at his side brought back word, saying, "I have done as you commanded." ( Ezekiel 9:10)

    Mishael: when the man in linen shows up, it is not good news. God told to open a secret passage; inside were detestable idols being worshipped by religious upperclass to the infants.

    There are videos of secret chambers in the basement of the Vatican. One had the Pope in attendance of the tour. You can verify it yourself.

    At this time, we have the Holy Spirit to guide believers in Jesus, away from cursed objects. I believe in fair judgment. Verify the expose'. If it's true, get far away from that. Cling to Jesus and the Word of God.

    Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH, the LIFE. There are no other escapes. As it shows in Ezekiel; no one can worship idols and "be in Jesus Christ."

    We bear a responsibility to search out these stories ourselves.

    Thank you for bringing this passage to Light.

    Hi Gigi.

    You're welcome.

    I find it amazing how so many have shaped their theology on God abandoning Israel as if Israel let God down in making his name great.

    God richness in mercy and his faithfulness is on display in dealing with Israel as well as us.

    It's amazing how some believe Gods promises to David " A kingdom here on earth where Jesus will sit on his throne " And the deliverance of Jacob has been voided because of their unbelief.

    The heart of flesh wasn't to come under the law/ ministry of condemnation. 2 Corinthians 3:5-9.

    They're misunderstanding God's order of events and Israels origin and purpose they feel the need to give God an excuse by saying those promises was given to the Church. Falsely claiming the church is spiritual Israel.

    Listen to Paul here in Romans 11:26.

    And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from "JACOB":

    For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

    Who's Jacob? certainly not the Church. Especially when putting it in the context of the previous scriptures. Romans 11:1-25.

    God bless.

    Thanks, Steven,

    I am glad you explained this. I have always believed that God's promises to Abraham are for all time. I believe that I should always want the best for all people, period. God has His reasons for setting Israel apart for Him for all time. I just trust His plan.
