Leviticus Chapter 2

In this chapter, Moses is given directions concerning non-flesh offerings. They are:

fine flour, oil, and frankincense

unleavened bread or wafers , oil, and frankincense

fruits and vegetables, oil, and frankincense

These are to be brought to the high priest. He takes some of the offering and offers it as a sacrifice. The rest is for Him and his sons to have for food.

They are not to use leaven or honey in their bread. Most likely, the leaven stands for sin and the honey, worldly pleasure. God does not want any of these mixed in with our offerings to Him. We are told to examine ourselves before partaking of the Lord's Supper. We should ask God to show us sin that we are to confess and repent of. The Holy Spirit will help us when we ask this. We are to bring our offering with clean hands and hearts. We are to worship God without sensuality or with elements of the world. Reminds me of how much we pass off as worship in our church services and especially concerts have adopted the actions, atmosphere, and special effects of the secular music industry.

We are also to purposely set aside some of what we have from our agriculture and from our kitchen for and offering to God. He does not need to eat. So, what is the purpose of offering food to Him? Perhaps it is that we are to be willing to part with some of what sustains us physically and trust that He will give us our "daily bread" both physically and spiritually.

We are to bring enough to that the priests will have a goodly share for their sustenance. So, we should be willing to pay our pastors a worthy salary for their work for us.

The oil, perhaps representing the faith (the ten virgins had oil in their lamps (faith) that the bridegroom would soon come). The offerings of the work of our hands is to be done in faith (that God is a rewarder of those who seek him in faith). Also, oil was used for anointing common things for holy use (set apart for God) So, the oil may represent this.

This will cause many to be deceived. Matthew 7:22-23. says "MANY".

That should cause us to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith.

I like the way Paul put it in

2 Corinthians 13:5. You notice whereit says "how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?"

( He's saying IF Christ is in you you WILL perform a certain way.)

2 Corinthians 3:3-5 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, BUT WITH THE SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD;

( not in tables of stone,) BUT IN FLESHY TABLES OF THE HEART.

And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; BUT OUR SUFFICIENCY IS OF GOD;

God Lords over our hearts. Him IN us is manifested in our walk.

I believe that is what the Lord is saying in this rhetorical question in Luke 6:46 "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"

If he is your Lord he put his spirit inside you to perform his will!

We've been sanctified Positionally.

( Given an atonement).

We are being sanctified practically.

(Growing in grace and quickened by the Spirit. ) This is our walk.

Worship is in truth and in spirit. It's not a hobby!

When we're passing out God's word we're not going to be correct all the time but we should hold it dear to our heart and be cautious to not treat it like a conversation at a round table.

Neither will we find our walk perfect but the desire to be perfect should be there.

There has to be conviction in your heart. Not pride or glory seeking. There has to be a denial of self! Not man pleasers.

It's joy being redeemed but it's not a game!

It's not doing our best. Our best isn't good enough.

It's accepting God's best. His son Jesus Christ.

It's his ability to sanctify us is where we stand.

O Lord, you are our father, we are the clay, you are the Potter, we are all the work of your hands. Heavenly Father, thank you for another day that You have made, we will rejoice and be glad in it. Heavenly Father, look down in tender mercy on the families that were an is in the path of the hurricane, especially those ones of the household of faith. Thank you, Lord, that provisions are being provided for all. I pray that if our churches have resources to help these people that they do not shut up the bowels of compassion but be ever ready Lord, to come to their needs. Father, we continue to say our prayers for those who are suffering at this time Father, and maybe sick, suffering the loss of loved ones. Father, we ask that you touch them with your hand. Hello, I am wondering about Jesse, haven't heard from you for awhile. How are you doing?

Yes, Fred, it is the grace of God ( Titus 2:11-14) that brings salvation...it teaches us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for Jesus' return (our blessed Hope). He gave Himself that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

And check out 2 Peter 1:2-4. It says that God's grace and peace can be multiplied to us in regards to knowledge of God an of Jesus our Lord. And it says that -as His divine power has given to us all things pertaining to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue (Jesus'), by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these yo may be partakers (acquire the communicable virtues of God and reflect the character of God to others) of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Then it goes on to (vs. 5-11) to list what we should strive (with the help of the Holy Spirit) to acquire and how we are to attain maturity. It is so very wonderful that God does not convert us and then leave the rest to us on our own efforts and strength. We would fail miserably again and again in our own humanity. But with the divine gifts that God gives us through the Spirit, we can become increasingly godly in our behavior, devoted to God, desirous of becoming more and more like Jesus, and seeking to commune with Him in our daily walk. He is always with us, always able to deliver us from evil, always true to His promises, and will accomplish His purpose in us-to be saved from sin, death, and the devil; and to be made fit for the life to come. We already have eternal life, though we still have mortal bodies. But God's plan for His people is far beyond whatever we can even imagine.

Fred, we will all be changed one day. All sin and corruption will be completely and forever removed from us. Can't wait

if we live in the spirit of Christ, we shall do those things that glorify Him. If you are looking to displace sin in the process, remember we have an advantage over sin. It is the forgiveness of it! God came to heal the sick, there is a fine line we walk, it is called grace. Saving souls is on the front burner, anything else can simmer. We can never know the heart that needs what it needs. Only the holy Spirit does!

These are names that live within a child of God. When we recognize who we are before God, we understand that who we are is what He has made us to be. That within these names are the future generations that will glorify Him in whatever situation you find ourselves in! Nations, peoples, that shall overcome no matter what the circumstances. Now we see Him as He is, in the face of Jesus Christ! Now we know Him as He is. How perfect are His ways, that while we were yet sinners He died for us.

That we are in one body, the body of Christ! That nothing can nor will separate us from His ultimate sacrifice for ALL mankind . That the glory of God would be manifest in us, through the knowledge of the savior Jesus Christ!

Regarding worship there seems to be many Christians who assume its bad to put effort into anything or be obedient or do anything active towards living as a Christian, because they believe its 'works' and they've been taught that all works is 'bad' despite scripture like James 2:26. I believe they think that Christians are on autopilot as the holy spirit leads them, that their name is already in the book of life and that their actions don't even matter anymore. And if they don't feel a deliberate force (such as the holy spirit) making them worship God, then they won't. If they feel a 'force' instead directs them to go to an adult nightclub and engage in sin they may do that instead, however, even if that 'force' is mistaken for temptation from satan. But some who identify as Christians believe they no longer have freewill to sin, despite verses like Rom 3:10. Some assume that even if they sin by the world's standards that not really sin according to God, therefore they shouldn't have any concerns about it whatsoever, despite Luke 12:5.

Given this belief, does God want worship to be a deliberate choice? Is it a command we as Christians must continue to do daily as a 'sacrifice of praise', or is it something just here and there to consider doing if convenient, or should we do absolutely nothing and 100% trust a spiritual force to direct us if we ever need to worship God?

I think there's 3 possibilities commonly mentioned:

1. Eve had more children and one of Cain's sisters (or other relative) became his wife?

2. God created more people but it just wasn't stated (such as from the land of Nod)?

3. Eve herself acted as Cain's wife?

The subsequent verses clearly indicate that this group is taken out of great Tribulation. Many would argue that the 144,000 were witnessing to this great multitude; and this is the result of the world's greatest evangelistic outreach.

I; however question that in light of verse 14 of the same chapter. This indicates that their robes were washed and made white in the blood of the Lamb. It would seem that there is a link here to those who had stained garments such as Sardis church in Rev. 3:4; with a further admonition in the next verse of being victorious. In light of those who are in white and unwrinkled garments in Ephesians 5:27 and even the admonition of Ecclesiastes 9:8 as well as possibly the parable of the wise virgins it seems like a strong possibility that in the first part of the Tribulation some may be left behind who are currently compromised and worldly. In other words; that would make the Rapture a reward issue; rather than merely a salvation one.

At some point of course there will be those who are martyred for not taking the mark of the Beast. That appears to be after this event if we take things mainly chronologically. Even in that case; we need to remember by the sixth seal everyone is aware of God an Christ and they go to the caves to hide from their presence ( Rev. 6:15). That is a far cry from when eventually they fight against Christ at Armageddon. My point though is that there will be no need to preach as we do now that Christ is Lord but a declaration of judgment ensuing; and the Kingdom arriving on earth will be proclaimed. We see this also once angels and apparently an eagle go throughout the earth admonishing man to worship the Creator; not to take the mark; and the woes are given to Babylon. ( Rev. 14:6-12). Notice that at the end of this passage those who are about to die are mentioned; thus bolstering another group of martyrs after the one mentioned in Revelation 7.

We are reminded of James once again in regard to the tongue and how dangerous it can be. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways ( James 1:8

There are also prophetic overtones once again; such as the character of the Antichrist in Dan. 11:32. We also see in the first verse that godly and faithful man fails and ceases. That reminds us of what happens when the restrainer is removed in 2 Thess. 2:6. Verse 4 seems to show a world thinking that they are without leadership (small lord). The verse about silver tried in a furnace of earth; purified seven times reminds us of the seven year Tribulation as well as the concept in Leviticus 26:18 for God's people.

Verse 7 shows preservation from this (possibly the last) generation. That could indicate a deliverance FROM the wicked; or THROUGH the Tribulation when the wicked reach their apex.

God knows how to preserve His children as we see the concept in 2 Peter 2:9 (also translated dtemptations) also it is clearer in Romans 1:16-17 where we are kept from the "wrath to come." Verse 5 reminds us that as Christ said "the poor will always be among you." ( Matt. 26:11). It appears that children will be restored according to Isaiah 49:25 as well as literal releasing of prisoners in Isaiah 51:14; although other verses can be applied to Christ freeing us from the prison of sin such as Isaiah 61:1-2 quoted by Christ.

These verses could have been penned by David with some of his own personal situation on his mind at least; but these broad promises certainly go beyond just being applied to David's situation as the Spirit inspired these passages in Psalms as in all scipture.

Is there scripture concerning deathbed salvation? Many say faith without works is dead yet scripture says faith is all thats required for salvation grace is a gift from God. Not meaning to answer my own question, just need scripture to support.

That's interesting. Esau is a type of fleshly man and so is Jacob sometimes when used in scripture.

But Esau cared not for the birth rights. Jacob wanted it but he had to learn to trust God. When he did he was later named Israel.

( The birthright wasn't given by merit.)

This seems to paint a picture of the wickedness of the ungenerated heart of man. Man has no faith or desire for God apart from the spirit of God. A 1000 years of man being ruled by the Lord with a rod of Iron and when satan is loosed not only do they rebel, they go to war against the Lord. That's not the Church who follow the Lord because they hear his voice!

John 10:27. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

God's spirit in a believer won't lead him to rebel against God.

1 John 4:4. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

You might consider starting your reading at the gospels and you will encounter the healings that Jesus did. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John.
