Psalm 144:3-4 comes to mind for me.
"Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge pf him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him?
Man is a breath; His days are like a passing shadow."
Well said.
No one can be a believer unless the Holy Spirit resides within this person accomplishing all of
working out our salvation in us. He regenerates us, making us alive to God. He causes faith to take root in us, making it possible
for us to believe the gospel of Jesus. He gives us the assurance of salvation and the awareness in a believer that they are now a
child of God. He fills every believer with the grace of His constant Presence, influence, and power over sin. He enables us to
serve God in the unique way that He fits us into the body of Christ in ways that build up the body and glorifies our Lord.
I do not distinguish a believer who emphasized they have been "baptized in the Holy Spirit" from one believes they received the
gift of the Holy Spirit at conversion and this Spirit works within them to accomplish God's will.
To me, a believer is a believer is. One is not different from the other, or better, or more blessed, or more filled, or more
empowered, etc. than another. My hope and prayer is that within the body, we all esteem one another equally and love each
other deeply, and support each other as brethren, and glorify God together as saints.
I always appreciate you.
Revelation 7:1-8 occurs before the six trumpet, before the day of the Lord, when the 144,000 saints are sealed. Continuing, Revelation 7:9-15, where now it's the seventh trumpet, Revelation 11:15, and the same sealed saints have been resurrected, and are now standing in heaven. We know it's the saints because we're told they came out of the great tribulation.
(same scene, different angle)
Revelation 5:11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;*10,000 x 10,000 = 100,000+ remaining = 144,000
Look at the moment the saints are resurrected? Revelation 11:11-12
Look who the 5th seal saints were told to wait for before He judges the earth. Revelation 6:9-11 & Revelation 11-7
1 Thessalonians 4:17 Paul was not talking to the general population, he was talking to his kind, first fruits, fellow elite, saints, dead and alive. The scriptures bear this out, who they are, and is always up for debate if you think you are a first fruit.
You may be thinking of 2 Corinthians 3:2-3 "You are our epistle Written in our hearts, known and read by all; clearly " are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is of the heart.
Or 1 Peter 4:14 "If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified."
Or 1 Peter 3:15-17 "but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile you your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good that for doing evil."
Or the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:14-16, "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
These are the Scripture that come to mind for me. These are from the NIV. I do not have a KJV in my home yet. But you can look them up in the KJV if you have one or on this site. I just don't know yet how to bring a text from this site to a post.
Maybe I am not so far adrift in my thinking after all.
Best regards
Roy
So we wouldn't be able to live as God intended for us on Earth if He denied us this important trait; in other words, we would be less than human & would only live & worship Him mechanically & probably without feeling or expression. And yet the downside of this is that, in our free will, we can choose to disobey Him & go against His Will for us. Therefore knowing this, He even made provision for wayward, sinful man to come back to Him & that man would do so because he understands how far he has strayed from God & from His perfect creation. Yet, most will make the most of this free Will they have & choose to satisfy their sinful appetites & show no concern for their spiritual barrenness, even denying their Creator Who ever waits for their repentance & love.
God could have quite easily denied us Free Will, but we would not be a creation that properly fitted His Design & be representative of His Image; as those giving Him all worship, to the Holy One Who is worthy to receive all praise from His creation. Titus 2:11-14; 1 Peter 2:9.
Can you identify such a passage?
Thank you,
Joe
Be careful of the propaganda. The media lies per strategy, they are part of the problem. For starters in Ukraine, are you aware the US backed a $5 billion coup in early 2014? Then the US state dept, and Victoria Nuland installed Katzenburg as president. Katz started bombing Russian speaking, Donbass residents, and was the reason for Russia taking Crimea in referendum (after the coup). Russia invaded Ukraine to remove the Nazi's, to remove their US funded bio-labs, and to STOP the bloody 8 year war the Nazi Ukraine govt runs against the Russian speaking Donbass region. The biggest slap to Russia is the encroachment of NATO on Russian boarders, five times. Why didn't the US grant Russia security guarantees? Because the US MIC needs a war with Russia to get rich.
The US wanted this conflict, they picked Russia as their enemy long ago. The Russian's are being delicate in Ukraine, moving at their own pace, not the TV's. They didn't do what the US would have done upon entering: cut power, cut internet, cut supply lines, and kill everyone in sight.
If you ask me, it's the US that's always the troublemaker, who breaks treaties, treacherously spoils nations. Then denies it all, like Mystery Babylon does in the land of confusion. How bad can Putin be for doing what God told him to do: destroy Babylon. The anti-christ is a rock star politician, and undoubtedly, there's nobody like him. Putin is a hero for saving the world from America, and giving them every opportunity to play fair, but America would rather risk the abomination of desolation, to rule the world from Jerusalem.
Genesis 3:15. is very a pivotal verse.
It establishes the parameters by which God will redeem His people from their sin.
The seed of the woman is Christ.
The seed of the serpent can be the Antichrist or much broader. "ALL that is ANTI-CHRIST as mentioned in 1 John 2:18.
All the prophesies concerning the coming of Christ centers around this verse. Also Christ deity is presented here. "The seed of the woman". Biologically the seed is of the man. And also geneogically the seed of the man is always mentioned biblically. but Christ had no earthly father. This is amplified in Isaiah 7:14. This is Gods foresight!
This presents the second Adam mentioned in 1st. Cor 15:45. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam a quickening spirit.
What Satan took away from the first Adam, "Dominion over all the earth"
Genesis 1:26.
The last Adam "Jesus" Redeemed it and us by way of the cross. lifting the curse. Romans 8:19-23.
I hope this helps.
God bless.
Thanks for your input and God bless.
Before I take off, Just want to leave you with this. The word of God declares in Revelation 2:10
King James Version
10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
John was cast into prison and we are not told in the word what the conditions and situation in prison were. Howbeit, we later read and understood that "John the Baptists" was beheaded through the instrumentality of Herodias.
Nevertheless, the scripture again tell us in the same Book of Revelation 20:4
"And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years."
Whatever the case concerning John the Baptists, I reckon he was Spirit filled, and endowed with the knowledge of the Word of God. HIs dilemma could not have been any pressure from the Prince of darkness (Satan) the Devil that he succumbed to.
Let me leave you with this verse from the Book of Deuteronomy.
Deuteronomy 29:29
King James Version
29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
God knows why and what John the Baptists, was going through. When we meet him, we will get to know because he'll revealed everything to us. (His children).
"You do not have, because you do not ask." James 4:2
"For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13
"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
"And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12
The Lord's day, and the day of the Lord are 2 very different things.
I have never quiet understood what being on fire for the Lord meant.
I do know that we are to be filled with the Holyspirit. And we feed on the word of God so we can grow.
1 Peter 2:1-2. Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
It is the Lord that work in us, it's not us manifesting anything.
We should have a regenerated heart that grows and desire to be more like Christ.
It's gentle and abiding in the truth with a quiet spirit.
1 Peter 3:4. But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
God bless.
Thanks for your reply.
I believe we are given the Holyspirit is given to every believer.
What ever we do for the Lord it is he that does it through us.
Philippians 2:13.
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
1 Corinthians 12:11.
This goes for spiritual fruit as well as spiritual gifts.
When we are born again we are a empty vessel and have nothing to offer. All our fleshly talents is insignificant.
It seems in the scripture we are confirmed by our fruit, "Not our gifts." Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
WHEREFORE BY THEIR FRUITS YE SHALL KNOW THEM. Matthew 7:15-20.
Also:
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: FOR WITHOUT ME YE CAN DO NOTHING.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. John 15:4-8.
All this is inward. Filling an empty vessel.
God bless.
Not being pawns in the hands of a cruel emotionless God, rather, it is better to exist and have the opportunity to be redeemed and know God than not to exist at all. But God is all good. He would not treat us as if we didn't matter at all, but rather He created the universe, the spirit beings, the creatures of earth, and human beings for a perfectly good reason-to be able to act on all that He is because in doing so His infinite, perfect goodness flows out of Himself into creation to culminate in human redemption and a new heaven and new earth. All the angels and heavenly hosts, and the saints will cry "Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God of Hosts".
and Blessing, honor, wisdom, and strength, be to our God forever and ever." I love reading in Revelations these responses from these created beings in response to all that God brings about. None of them ask, "Why did you make me this way?" (as if a creature could do better that Almighty God). No, all of us in heaven will all agree that God's ways are altogether righteous and just, good and perfect, praiseworthy and amazing. Can't wait!
The answer may be one possible reason why God loved us enough to give us freewill. He doesn't want people to choose evil, but many do and suffering usually occurs as a result.
For me, in all of this, I believe that God in His essential nature is infinitely perfect and an aspect of this perfection is to self-exist and to act on His perfections. Therefore, being infinitely merciful, loving, gracious, how would He act on these perfections? Within the Godhead of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, there is perfect love, but there is no need to act mercifully or graciously towards each other because there was and is no sin in any of them to need mercy and grace.
If God made us perfect and angels perfect and neither could ever sin, how could God act mercifully and graciously? How could He act on His forbearance and forgiveness towards sin if there was no sin? How could He act on His hatred for sin by acting wrathful or His justice by judging rightly if there was no sin to hate or judge?
I don't think God will allow any of His perfections to lie latent and unacted upon. I think that in the resurrection we will know so much more and see how infinite, how perfect, how, glorious, how holy God is and be astounded and worshipful.
We are not robots, we have personality, will, emotions. Nor are we pawns in an egotistical plan made time
I agree with you in prayer for this relative. Lord God, bring swift healing and guide the surgeon in all ways. Allow a surgery date to become available very soon. We ask all these things,. Heavenly Father, in the name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.
God bless you and what you do.
Bible some will ever see?
You wouldn't mind if i make a small linguistic correction, wouldn't you? "Pneuma' is pronounced as "pnh-vmah" by Greeks not pnyoomah. It means spirit, in ancient Greek air and wind as well. Again sorry. God bless you.
reborn Christians. Finally about your question about commandments you should know that there are commandments in the New Testament as well. Example given Love your enemy, Don't judge your brother, Do not separate your wife/husband, Do not lie, and generally speaking do not sin, and what is considered a sin by God is described in the Gospel.
You could start reading the Gospel from the begining, the Gospel of Matthew and progress trying to solve your questions but still i think you will need help from people that have some knowledge. May God show you the way. God bless you.
The Roman Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox Christians do fast at lent for 40 days ( or the last week before Easter) because they celebrate the Easter as a holly day. So they fast before Easter and have Holly Communion at Easter. Not sure for Catholics but Orthodoxes do that. The fast they do is not a total absence of food and water or just food as it should be but they Keep away from certain foods like meat, milk, eggs,, olive oil and some other food.. Although this practise has started relatively early in church's history there has not been something like that written in the Gospel. On the contrary apostle Paul says that there are no Holly days now as there were in the times of the Old Testament. See Galatians 4:9-11. But as it written in Romans 14 it is not a sin if you do all these things as you do them for God but my opinion is if you know the precise way to serve the Lord just stay there.
God bless you
Genesis 2:21-25 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man."
Thanks. I believe all scripture comes from God.
Everyone believes their way is correct.
That's why we have scripture.
We should be using it to better understand God's way more perfectly.
It is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
For instruction in righteousness.
Thanks again
Jim
