    Hi Kay.

    Thanks for your reply.

I've never heard a pre-trib view taught that there is 3 comings of Christ, I always understood that there is the 1st coming and the second coming to Earth.

The rapture is called the "harpazo" in the Greek. meaning "to snatch away" or "to seize," The Lord don't come to the earth, We go to him!

1 Thessalonians 4:17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD IN THE AIR: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

His second coming he comes to the Earth with judgment.

In these 2nd coming verses there's no mention of the removal of saints.

Here's just a few of many.

    Zechariah 14:4.

    Revelation 19:11-16,

    Revelation 20:1-6.

    Matthew 25:31-32.

The 2nd coming he comes with his saints.

If he raptured in his 2nd coming when he comes and make war against the nations who's going to populate the Millennium?

    Here's parallel verses to

    Mathew 24:31.

    Isaiah 11:12.

    Jeremiah 23:7-8.

    Jeremiah 16:14-15.

    Ezekiel 34:12-13.

    Isaiah 45:4.

    Goodnight Kay and God bless.

Nancy, I looked on a chart for Abraham's lineage online

You might google "Abraham and Nahor's lineages and see. There were "generations removed" in the lineages. Bethuel and Isaac were first cousins, but one generation apart (since Abraham had Jacob at such an old age and Nahor had Bethuel at a normal age). Isaac and Laban were "one generation removed" though closer in age. Rebecca, Laban's sister also was "one generation removed" from Isaac, being of the same generation as Isaac but her Father, Bethuel, was Isaac's first cousin. (Bethuel was the father of Laban and Rebecca). Jacob and Laban were second cousins but one generation removed" as Laban was the father of Leah and Rachel, so he was of the generation of Isaac and Rachel and Leah were of Jacob's generation but these women were not Jacob's second cousins.

Leah, and Rachel were third cousins to Jacob "one generation removed". Jacob's children and Leah and Rachel are third cousins

    "one generation removed.

I realize that these are "one generation removed" things are confusing. I come from a lineage of large families, so having cousins that are "one generation removed" is common as the older children in a family may have children older or close in age to the parents youngest siblings. But in this case, the "one generation removed" come into plat because of the wide age difference between when Nahor had Bethuel and Abraham had Isaac. Bethuel was a father before Isaac was born, thus there was a generation between Isaac and Bethuel but they were first cousins.

For example, If Nahor was 43 when Bethuel was born and Abrahan was 40, Bethuel was 45 when Isaac was born, (85-40) but they were first cousins. If Bethuel was 53 when Laban and 50 when Rebecca was born, Abraham would be 85. (33+53)

If Abraham was 85 when Isaac was born, Nahor would be 112, Bethuel would be 45, Laban would be just born. If Isaac was 30 when he married Rebecca, Bethuel (his first cousin) would be 75 (45 +30), Laban 30, and Rebecca, 27.

GiGi this is a second reply and addresses a different subject entirely - this concerns the concept og heaven and eternal life. We I try to get my head around this my mind boggles and my thoughts become more and more confused. I have reached out through the internet toward the offices of the leaders of the Church of England and to the Pope and the responses I have receive have been decidedly undefective and not in the least helpful.

Until I receive a rather airy fairy response from someone in the Roman Catholic Church I had a partially formed (but still very confused) image of something a kind to Old Testament drawings of GOD in his heaven surrounded by all the souls of mankind and I mean all the countless billions. In some way I would join this host and there I would again be united with all of the people that I loved on this earth and in some other unclear manner we would continue to "live" in total harmony with all every other sole in heaven in a wonderous existence of no stress and no pain, total equality under the blessing of OUR FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN and this in my mind would be represented on absolutely heavenly existence that would be infinite. It is because of this and my hope that GOD will forgive me my sins that I do not fear what happens after I die.

    What is your view?

    They were cousins.

    Abraham and Nahor were brothers.

Isaac and Bethuel were first cousin

Jacob and Laban were second cousins

Rachel, and Leah were third cousins to Jacob

    I think this is so.

GiGi thank you for your response and I fully support the non-denominational approach to the way in which we practice our religion and express our views not only between ourselves but towards others as well. In fact, whilst I have not got a a clear position in my mind I am inclined to extend the "non-denominational theme" to somehow encompass other religions that have positions similar to ourselves.

I have for many years lived and worked with Muslims across the Middle East and over South East Asia and I have enjoyed the company of Jews as friends and with the exception of the lack og recognition of Jesus Christ as being the SON OF GOD I find the principles of both these religions to be the same as ours.

Again I have lived and worked in South Korea for many years and have enjoyed very close associations with Buddhists who don't recognise a deity but nevertheless adhere to the same basic rules as we do. I have not in depth experience of Hinduism and from what little I have observed their religion is quite a mystery to me but again I have work with a god number of Hundu's and Sikhs and found them also to live a life that is largely built on the same rules for humanity (reference the Twelve Commandments) as we hold to.

I have difficult in accepting that our merciful and forgiving GOD would reject all these other member of the human race for not not holding precisely to the same religion that we share. I will be most interested in your views on this.

Dear Brenda, You are not alone by any means. Many people on here, ne included, raised our children in a Christian home, taught them the Truth, they believed and then went the prodigal way. Many of us, me included , are praying persistently for them to return to the Father. I was just talking with my friend (my pastor's wife) today about this, as we both have three sons and all six are not following hard after the Lord as we had hoped they would. We talked about why this is so. Couldn't and wouldn't God keep them in the true faith in Jesus as is promised in the Word, that none can be snatched out of His hand.

Our sons (and us) are being tried here and God has allowed it. So, what are we to believe? Is God's arm too short to save them now? NO! Is God not at work in their lives 24/7 to bring them back to Him? YES! Does God love them more than both their fathers and mothers love them? YES! Are they His? YES!

We believe that the Lord will indeed answer our prayers for our sons.

Jesus said in John 15:26 "..that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give it to you."

And in John 16:23-24 Jesus says, "And in that day you will ask nothing, Most assuredly, I say that to you, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full."

We believe these wonderful promises from our Savior. Be encouraged, Brenda, pray to the Father in Jesus' name for your sons to return in faith to Jesus, as we are persisting in prayer for our sons, too.

    Hello, Nadine

1 Timothy 6:16 says that God dwells in unapproachable light which no man has seen nor can see.

Psalm 115:3 says 'Our God is in heaven."

In Psalm 139, David speaks that there is no place he can go that God is not there.

Ephesians 1:23 says that God fills all in all.

Jesus says in John 10:30 says "I and the Father are one." and in John 10:38 Jesus says, "I am in the Father and the Father is in Me."

Then in John 14 Jesus speaks that "If anyone loves Me, he will keep my word: and My Father will love him. We will come to him and make our abode in him."

From these Scripture we learn several things about God.

    1) God is transcendent- which means that He lives apart from all he has created and cannot be apprehended by our normal, limited, human abilities unless he reveals Himself to us, regardless of whether we are believers or not.

    2) God dwells in heaven, with the angels and all other spiritual beings

    3) God is everywhere at once-this is called being omni-present. His Being fills the universe. There is no part of the universe where He is not, regardless of whether we are believers or not

    4) God is also-which means He is close at hand, near us. He is involved with us, regardless if we are believers or not

    5) God lives within each believer. The Father lives in the believer, The Son (Jesus) lives in the believer, and the Holy Spirit lives in the believer. God does not live within unbelievers. This union is privilege of believers in Jesus only!

    Hope this helps, Nadine.

    Dear Curious,

Those in the States have a huge blessing of having the right to vote for those who represent them. So, as Mishael says, do not

leave it to the other guys who vote. Learn for yourself what is happening and discover the policies and stands

of those running for offices hold to, not just what they say they stand for. Find out about their records to see if these and what

they say agree. In my 47 years of voting, I have never seen as fast of a deterioration of our economy, social stability,

criminal behavior in our streets and by those in powerful positions as I have seen in the past 2 years. It is very concerning. We

should care! We should pray! We should exercise the precious freedoms and rights we have as citizens as long as we have

them. It is a shame not to!

God could have easily had any of us be born in another country than here.

But those of us born in here are here because God chose that for us and expects us to make full use of the rights, privileges,

and liberty this county affords its citizens. By making use of these things we have power to turn the tide of our nation, to be a

restrainer of evil in our country and communities, contribute to the good of our country which in turn has historically provided so

much good to other countries and their peoples, much more so than ANY other country in the world for generations.

Even if the Jesus should come back sooner than later, we should not cower or remove ourselves from the responsibilities of

citizenship in this country waiting for Him. God has given such citizens a unique opportunity to self-rule that most of the world

    does not have.

Other systems are not the answer for us. These are the systems that will usher in the antichrist and his one world

government. So I pray that a multitude of us in these States to be wise in how they hold their citizenship.

  • Jesse - In Reply - 3 years ago
    Hi Tom,

I would like to share my perspective on this. I does seem sort of odd that John the Baptist would send his disciples to Jesus to ask Him those questions. Perhaps John should have known the answer. Was there any doubt there in John's mind? There may have been but we don't know for sure.

I tend to believe there was some doubt in John's mind which caused him to send his disciples to Jesus to ask Him if He was the coming Messiah, or should they expect someone else. Here's why I believe this. I think it had to do with the situation John was in (Imprisoned for preaching the gospel), and his concept of who the Messiah was supposed to be.

The Jews believe two things. First of all, they believe that when Messiah came, He would exercise judgment on the enemies of Israel. And John was out preaching judgment and the coming of Christ and he was put in prison for that. So now John's in prison for telling the truth and preaching the Gospel, and the Roman government still has the Jewish people captive. So John sees no movement there.

Secondly, they also expected that after He freed the Jewish people from the Roman government, that He would establish His kingdom here on the earth. However, John is in prison and the Jews are still suffering under the Roman government. In their mind, the Messiah was supposed to change all that and set up His kingdom now. So I can sort of see and understand the perplexity of John and why he would ask these questions.

Mishael, you are right. We do need to wise up as a nation and make the best use of our right to vote and inquire about things that are happening in our government, schools, and in businesses.

I was just thinking to day how bit by bit, the media is conditioning so many that take in movies, programs, etc. to be interested in and enjoy programming that promotes the occult, evil, magic, witchcraft, supernatural powers that are evil, etc. the industry does not just put out "adventure" focused on heroism, violence, etc. as in the past (I don't like that either) but now this is all mixed in with occultism, fighting some evil being or involving sorcery of one kid or another. Even children's movies. gaming, and programming is becoming more and more geared towards occultic practices. I do not want to support this at all! So, I do not go to movies, purchase movies, stream any movies or programming. It is harder when one has little kids, but perhaps parents should refuse to have their children indulge in such things and instead occupy their time with projects, outdoor activities, etc.

Go camping without phones, computers, tablets, etc. Go see our beautiful natural wonders all over our country. Resist teaching your child to depend on T.V. etc. from a young age. babies and toddlers do not need to watch videos or T.V. shows at all and will turn out better if parents refuse to give in this easy cop out. It means that parents, too, would need to refuse this entertainment for themselves, as well, because their children will need their parents to interact with them and play with them, read with them, go for walks with them. So, my suggestion to young parents. Be purposeful in your parenting from the moment your baby is born. Do not allow your child to spend time at friends homes that let their children watch these problematic shows and movies, because they will not turn it of just because you don't want your child to intake it. I speak form experience on this.

    Hebrews 13:17

17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Comment: if you watch election results, it's obvious that half the population is voting for the half that did not vote. Rain or shine, we need to give voting more of our priority.

Make a "cheat sheet", so we don't vote for the other party. It happens. Last one I voted in, the "vote party" option was gone. It's necessary to have the names of the person representing your party of choice, on the issues.

Don't leave it at home on Election Day. :D put in your wallet.

Suze: It sounds like from your post that Christ has already come the second time.

Hebrews 9:27 And it is appointed unto man (sinful flesh) once to die, but after this judgement (rightfully dividing the word of God, which is truth).

Psalms 37:28 For the Lord loveth judgement ..........

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered (in the flesh, as sinful flesh) to bear the sins of many (all); and unto them that look for him he shall appear the SECOND TIME (as the Holy Ghost)(as a thief in the night) without sin unto salvation.

Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death (on the cross, as sinful flesh) of his saints.

Isaiah 26:19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise ....

Christ arose to a new body that is immortal, as you died with him, you also arose with him, Christ is LIFE and TRUTH, when you depart this fleshly body all that remains is LIFE and TRUTH, as you bear the image of the earthly you will bear the image of the heavenly.

He who is born of spirit IS SPIRIT.

    God is Spirit.

Spirit is all the things that can't be seen, life, faith, love, mercy, truth, wisdom, understanding, knowledge, etc.

You will be the image of Christ, because Christ is the image of God.

1 Corinthians 3:21-23 ...for all things are yours ...and ye are Christ's and Christ is God's.

Christ is in creation bringing creation to truth, when you join him you will be doing the same thing.

Hebrews 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God (SPIRIT) the Judge of all, and to the SPIRITS OF JUST MEN MADE PERFECT.

Revelation 10:11 And he (spirit of Christ) said unto me (John) thou (John) prophesy again (as the image of Christ, working in creation, as a ministering spirit) before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

John 1:51 ....Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels (messenger's) of God ascending and descending upon the son of man.

GBU on our quest for truth.

These are very serious matters. The first section v. 1-18 show Jeroboam's wife entreated for her husband's sake about their son. The only conciliation here was that "some good" was found in the son and he would be mourned and buried. He was a child; so this shows some age of accountability aspect in God judging sins; and that grace appears evident here for salvation much as it was for David's baby from Bathsheeba who David stated that he would see again in previous passages.

The rest of the appalling future of his descendants were indicated in the following verses where it summarizes that they are mentioned in Chronicles.

The rest of the chapter shows about Rehoboam show a similar troubled future; and that there was a war between him and Jeraboam "all their days" (v. 30). Once again; we see the destructive effects of worshipping false God's which began with Solomon and how it not only messed up his future; but that of future generations. Solomon; it appears through Ecclesiastes finally learned the bitter lessons of folly; and having too much wealth and other vices. Fear God and keep His commandments ended that book; unfortunately Jaroboam didn't follow God faithfully during any of his time when ruling and neither did Rehoboam either. Only supernatural ears can truly HEAR His voice; and the god of this world blinds all who disregard the warnings and think that they know better.

I'm sorry for all the children who are hurt by adults and peers. I pray the Lord will turn your tragedy into an opportunity to be an advocate for abused kids, no matter the ages. I believe parents need to watch school board meetings to protest programs and new school books that promote agendas of lewd education materials. Expose it to the public. Parents are beginning to rally against the addition of "sexual" education in grade schools. I always think of John the Baptist: a voice crying out in the "wilderness". . Repent.

FOX NEWS reported today that DISNEY is pushing LGBT in their programs and videos. We need to boycott those "new" movies and videos. Kids can watch the old movies on YouTube.

While I'm on my soapbox: We all need to replace NETFLIX with PUREFLIX. It has good programs for everyone. No violence or filth; plenty of cartoons and kid programs.

We need mentoring in schools, for children trying to recover from abuse and be a much wiser child; not afraid of adults.

We can stop some of what our President advocates by getting our voices back. We have no voice currently.

WE ARE CONSTITUENTS. Senate and House representatives must have them to stay in office. Last election was a bomb because we don't read agendas and don't follow politicians past agendas. First time voters banded together to turn a 180 in Washington. 2 years later, paying 7.00 for a gal of gas, 50% food hikes, etc

We need to FLIP the next elections to the Red side. Re-register as Republican. It's legal. You can flip back anytime. Forms at Post Office. The goal: get this insufferable team of leaders in DC, GONE! The CONSTITUENTS can do this. It's never been done before. I say we are strong enough to do this, with God's help.

Our children's futures are gone. We just don't see it yet. If we pretend blindness it will continue to get worse every year.

Fight back. Re-register red and see how fast Congress reacts. This is our last chance to turn it.

Under Law (Mosaic, Levitical, etc) we lived by works. Salvation could only be obtained by works. This was only a temporary solution until Christ Jesus came to die for our sins so that we're freed from law by Salvation; nei, we are saved by Grace through Faith in Christ's finished work at Calvary. Therefore, Spiritual law is nothing more but written on the hearts of those born again.

What was the situational context of Galatians 3 (most of Paul's letter to Galatia)?

Galatia heard the Gospel of Grace (not works of the Law) by either Paul or another early witness that was in Paul's fellowship. Judaizers (which aren't much different from modern Messianics) came to Galatia and told them that the Grace of God wasn't enough. They tried to pervert the Galatian church's understanding of Grace and asked they go back under the law (works of physical circumcision, feast days, sabbatical law, etc). Everything Judaizers or Messianics teach is in contrary to the victory Christ Jesus gave us by shedding His Blood so that we may have Grace freely without works.

None of the context has to do with secular laws by civilization. Obviously, we live in this world and cannot rebel against civil laws of the land. This chapter has nothing to do with that. Reach Galatians back from chapter 1 for better understanding.

    Roy,

I should have also mentioned that the Gospel of John was written to the church around 95 A.D. So approximately 30 years after the other three gospels were written, the Gospel of John was written. John wrote his gospel to present Jesus as the Son of God, (His deity).

And John ends his gospel with the promise of Jesus' return. And that opens it up for John's sequel, as he wrote the book of Revelation, and talked about the return of Christ.

    Hope all this helps!

Holocausts were rhe sacrifices in the Old Testament era that were burnt. The word holocaust actually means that, it originates from the greek word "holocautoma" that means "all burnt". Later in the WW2 it was used for the crimes the nazis commited against the Jewish people.

    Roy,

Matthew, Mark, and Luke are known as the Synoptic Gospels. John is not part of the synoptic section. The word synoptic comes from the Greek word SUNOPSIS which means to view together. So Matthew, Mark, and Luke are to be viewed together.

Matthew's gospel was written to the Jews and was written to present Jesus as the coming Savior/Messiah. Mark wrote his gospel to the Roman mind because to the Roman people, everything had to match up with the law. Mark wrote to present Jesus as the suffering servant.

Luke was written to the Gentiles. It was written to present Jesus as the Son of Man. The book of Acts was also written by Luke, and both books used to travel together. In fact, the book of Acts was originally called Luke Part 2. It was later on changed to the book of Acts.

Paul wrote the doctrine or teaching section of the New Testament, Romans through Philemon.

And then from Hebrews all the way through the book of Revelation, that is all known as the Jewish Literature section of the bible.
