Hello Mello. Yes, we see this declaration by the apostle in 1 Timothy 1:19,20 and 1 Corinthians 5:1-7. What Paul was doing, was to use Church discipline to identify & weed out those amongst them that were found to be involved in gross sin. In the first passage, Hymenaeus and Alexander were in some way affecting the Church with their blasphemous teaching. In the second, there was fornication evident in the Corinthian Church that was going unchecked & without the required discipline & correction.

When sin is evident in the Body of believers (the Church), there has to be a quick response, as it not only shames the Lord Who purchased her, but also invades & affects the whole lump (the Church), slowly destroying the faith of many. Paul, in these instances, said that the only action that should be taken when there was a refusal to repent of these sins, was to "deliver them to Satan", or, 'cast them out of the assembly, refuse them fellowship, & put them back into the world that is Satan's area of influence & control'. Satan cannot be allowed to have access in Christ's Body & those toying with sin & also wanting Christian fellowship will never influence others for good & will eventually affect the whole. Unfortunately, Church discipline today is not the strongest point in many fellowships, & often blatant sin is either disregarded or addressed without necessary action.

Hi Joe. What you read in James 2:1 is simply another way of saying what you believe is true, i.e. we should not show partiality to certain people in the Church, especially as shown in the following verses (examples). So, we could read the verse as, 'My brethren, the faith you hold in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, should not be tainted with partiality'. I trust that makes it a little more clearer.

    Psalm 139:13-16

    13 For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother's womb.

    14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

    your works are wonderful,

    I know that full well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you

when I was made in the secret place,

when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

    16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;

all the days ordained for me were written in your book

before one of them came to be.

America is infected with tens of millions of unsaved heathen who very forcefully support the murder of innocent infants in the womb. These unsaved savages are wicked. The Bible says the wicked are like the troubled sea...

    Isaiah 57:20

But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

The wicked will not stand in the coming judgment of God when He returns to earth to judge His enemies.

    Romans 1:18-27

    18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

No one was ever born homosexual. Even youth exposed to fornication, pornography and other perversions will cause one to believe this. They'd worship the creature and not the Creator (God) and for this cause God gave them over as they are of a reprobate mind. The only cure is to be born again ( Ephesians 2:8-10)
  • Daniel - In Reply - 2 years ago
Romans chapter 1, the Apostle Paul.explains that this and what the cause is for one to act such a way. To be clear, no one is born that way and Romans 1 should clear up any confusion.

I went online to do a search "Bible verses about relationships" and got several good lists. There is a lot online that would be helpful.

A lot of what is written in the Bible is about marriage because God's goal is the marriage of Jesus to His church. However, there is also a great deal written about how we should relate to God and one another.

I would like to recommend eSword, a free to download and keep Bible study tool with many translations and commentaries. I read Lev 20 in it and read the commentary by David Guzik. That chapter is about Israel's relationship to God and avoiding idolatry and sexual impurities for men and women. These impurities are about dishonesty in our relationship to God. (Plus God gave us these rules to live by for our bodily health; another discussion entirely. His plans for us are well integrated.)

We all suffer from the pulls of the flesh although there are different pulls for every individual. They all divert us from seeking a relationship with God.

I hope that my post can be a starting point for your further studies.

My sister just wrote something to me in an e-mail that is such a nugget from heaven, I just have to share it with you all. She wrote:

"Then my thoughts went to how some people who have a place of prominence; people we might see on TV who are supposedly Christians; wear necklaces with crosses on them.

And immediately The Lord put this in my heart....We are to be CARRYING our crosses; not WEARING them.

    Simple; but so true.....

We LIKE to make that cross teeny and tiny and manageable, a VERY RELIGIOUS thing to do; because it gives us and others THE IMPRESSION that we are 'carrying' and mindful of the cross; but our crosses are MUCH BIGGER than a little piece that can be worn as jewelry. Selah."

    Luke 9:23 :

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Thank you Roman for your kind words. However, any thing I have that is wise and good to hear is not mine to claim, but from the LORD JESUS CHRIST Himself. Glory and honor goes to the LORD at all times.

It's always good to hear other view points on any subject matter as it pertains to Scripture. May we continue to seek God's glory and praise at all times. Any thing with hallucinogens in it would have compounded the already existing problem of sin. Ezekiel knew what was at stake and would have taken the proper steps to remain "kosher" in his preparation of the bread. Chp 4: 14-17

Have a good day Roman, may the LORD shine His face on you and yours.

    SolaScrip,

The bible says we will never know why The Lord does everything he does until eternity and i believe there was a reason it was changed, but does it really matter what the pastor says while baptizing you because its salvation that gets us to heaven. In conclusion there is on reason to argue over a matter like this.

We were once wild "reckless" vines. Father planted Christ to be the only source of eternal life. Father is the gardener who tills our hearts to become the people we were always meant to be, not only in Heaven, while living here on earth. Jesus is now the "I AM" Vine, He will forever be!

Hello, sorry to respond so late. I'm a Christian, i have been a believer since 1974. I don't feel we as believers in Christ ought to crumble under the agenda of those bent on destroying our constitution of the US. This political correctness gets to the point of stupidity when we bleep the Bible. Some in Ohio say we shouldn't say hello because it has hell in it. I heard it was said Jesus' name should be illegal to say in public because it is a dangerous name to use, that was Canada. Yes His name is dangerous to devils because we cast out devils in His name. Oh, a d since when is a natural act of going to the bathroom a curse word. Americans like to put a punch behind words so we have some that we have been told are "bad words". Are they different if we use poop, dung, feces, or any other ones describing the same act. Oh and my Webster encyclopedia has only 1 definition for "crap" it says crap is "buckwheat". So when did buckwheat become a bad word? Makes one think. Were parents trying to make us "proper" or were they a little ignorant because of schools?

You are wrong because you follow the tradition of men, and not after Christ according to the scriptures of Colossians 2:8

"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." you deceive the world because of the tradition of men who are philosophers or theologians who don't follow after Christ. There is no such thing about Christianity, Theology, and Trinity literally found and written in the King James Version Holy Bible Edition 1611 not even as in the scrolls and manuscripts of Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic languages of the Holy Scriptures Book.

    2 Peter 1

16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

    Revelation 22:18-19

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Hi Mishael, those are good ideas you shared. I have compassion for the homeless and like to offer food gift cards and like to listen to what they have to say. I usually ask them if they believe in God and see where that leads. I tend to be more of a listener compared to evangelists like Ray Comfort who lead the conversation and maybe even get aggressive at times. I think those in society who often feel ignored can feel validated if someone just cares by listening with interest in who they are as a person rather than go with an agenda to "change them" without even knowing them.

In general I find a high % of homeless believe in God compared to the general population, maybe because the general population doesn't yet think they "need" God. Many homeless have full trust that God will provide day by day. In a way it seems like I see way more signs of a healthy child-like faith in the ones who are the most destitute. In a way the sickest in society are those with many roots in earthly things and assume they are fine without God, not realizing they built their house on sand.
  • Henry on Ephesians 6 - 2 years ago
    Solascript,

i agree that the bible has never been about logic. Jesus has reasons for all he does he might have done differently that time for a reason the bible says we will never know the reasons for all God does but we do know that the difference in what you say doesn't matter because it is salvation that gets you to heaven not baptism.
  • Wilbur Reid - In Reply - 2 years ago
I demand you that anyone should not add any unbiblical or unscriptural word which is Christianity, Theology, Trinity, which are truly not the Word of God according to the scriptures as it is not literally found and written in the King James Version Holy Bible Edition 1611. According to the scriptures of Colossians 2:8 "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."

    Deuteronomy 4:2

"Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you."

    Deuteronomy 12:32

"What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it."

    Proverbs 30:5

"Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him."

    Proverbs 30:6

"Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar."

    Isaiah 55:8

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD."

    Isaiah 55:9

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

Those, who claim to say that they are a theologian that is called philosophy or groups of philosophers because they practice their own theological or philosophical studies at their college or school or university about the scrolls or manuscripts of Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic languages of the Holy Scriptures Books or King James Version Holy Bible. They claim to be called religious believers as Christians because of Christianity that contradicts God and His infallible and living and written Word that is Hebrews 4:12

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

    Dear Carol Ann

Jesus never sinned, so I do not think He was being disrespectful to His mother. He was most likely speaking to her in a way that was common in those times and it did not ring as rude then.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 2 years ago
To be honest, the words "biblical" and "unscriptural" are not written in the Word either, but we use many terms such as these and "Christian" "Christianity", "theology", etc. express our understanding of our God and His precepts. I'm sure that there are most likely a wide variety of words you or I or other believers use in discussing matters of our faith that our not in the Word. I think that the important thing if for us to speak to one another with words that we understand, being commonly used.

Perhaps it would help us understand you better if you can explain why you singled out these words (Christian, Christianity, Theology) to speak against.

Yesterday near where I live a tornado was headed in my direction-a little beyond Round Rock Tx.

I started to weep because everyone in my complex is older/elderly. I prayed for the storm to go back up in the clouds.

It stopped 1 mile from our senior complex!! Went up in the clouds and came back down 10 miles east of us.

    And a rainbow appeared.

I went back in the house and wept because God is so good!! Ask for what you need.

    LOVE your neighbors.
