    Romans 5:15-19

15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. 17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

You do like picking out a single verse that supports your point when looked at all by itself, but a proof text doesn't work in this case (or in most cases actually). You have to at least address these verses to trace the idea you have proposed all the way through. Every one of these verses pair an aspect of Adam's fall with a counteracting aspect of Jesus Christ's saving work. A consistent pattern for handling all of these pairs and both halves within each pair would be what I would expect from Paul and should be given the benefit of the doubt over any inconsistent pattern for handling them absent a compelling reason for breaking the pattern.

    Guy,

In Luke 17:37, Jesus is talking about that day when people are going to gather together in the Valley outside of Jerusalem to fight against Christ at His coming. Remember the birds are going to be called in to feed on their carcasses. These people have been drawn out into the battle. So He is talking about His day.

    Hi Guy,

You selected a difficult passage to try and understand. I often look to the website Enduringword for answers. Hope this helps you.

And they answered and said to Him, "Where, Lord?" So He said to them, "Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together."

    a. Where, Lord? The disciples wanted to know more about this revelation of Jesus, presumably both where the deliverance the judgment might take place. As they came nearer to Jerusalem, perhaps they wondered if these events would take place soon, as they arrived at the City of Zion.

    b. Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together: This is a difficult statement. It was probably a figure of speech with the idea, "when judgment is ripe, it will surely come."

    i. "That simply meant that a thing would happen when the necessary conditions were fulfilled." (Barclay) "Where that which is ripe for judgment is present, there also will the judgment take place." (Geldenhuys)

ii. Some wonder if the conditions are ready in the present day for this revelation of Jesus, both in delivering His people and judgment upon a world that rejects Him. We may say this with some confidence: The Bible describes certain political, economic, spiritual, social, and military characteristics regarding what the world will be like before His return. It is fair to say that the conditions exist today, and the stage is set.

Marke let me remind you they died even before the law, death reigned from Adam to Moses before the law... Romans 5 : 19 ..For by 1 mans disobedience many were made sinners. And by 1 mans offence ( Adam ) judgement came upon ALL MEN to Condemnation...Even by the obedience of 1 man Christ Jesus shall many be made righteous...Now we see Ezech 18 in a better light...Lemme me tells ya abit about EZECH 18 Its about LAW SIN...Transgresssion of the law ..Under the law sin cd not be mputed to the Fathers Children....their sons ..Simply b/c the sons were already under the curse of Adam. They were were already under the curse of the law it wd be Double Jeopardy if God imputed the sins of the fathers to the Children...They ALL were already under the curse of ADAM and that CURSE CD NOT BELIFTED BUT BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB...Meaning only by Christ Jesus....Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world...But by the blood of an animal they got an annual reprieve...for law sin...But that did not get them the kingdom or a new heart or a new spirit...But if God imputed sin to the Sons for their fathers trangressions that wd be Double Jeopardy...As God is not unfair in anyway...

    Greetings Janet,

I hear ya! I feel you! We all go through the same things at various times. The key is to "endure"; stay focused on the Word and Jesus and the Holy Spirit, trusting Him and not your own understanding or that of others. Just STAND on what you believe and what you know. The rest will come as needed.

I recommend you stay in the King James Bible as much as possible. These perversions that pass fir Scripture today should be burned.

I have left churches for the same reason that you contemplate. I can't tell you to leave your church; that is something you must work out with the Spirit. I will say that many are vexed by the teaching of these versions but don't understand why. You seem to understand why.

Let the Spirit lead and don't fear change if needed! You are stronger and wiser than you know when do.

Stay in the Word and stay blessed.

I don't disagree with you, in fact I do agree with you that His confrontation of her sin and her response was of grace. The other gentiles you mentioned are not shown to be converts to Judaism and in the case of the Samaritan woman we know she was not, and Jesus rebuked that too when He said salvation was of the Jews. When that did not put her off, He revealed His father's plan for worship and she expressly connected thise words to her belief in the Messiah. That is when He told her He was the Messiah as clearly as He ever had up to that point and she believed. So I see that rebuke/chastisement/correction, belief and grace are all inseparable in this story.

Praise God for grace, but also for rebuke/chastisement/correction that is believed. That is where the Pharisees and Sadducees repeatedly failed, but she didn't.

The only one Who is Good and upright is The Lord Almighty. Jesus answerded a young rich man who called him good master, why do you call me good? there is only one Who is good, Whom is God!

I'm saved by His Mercy, through jesus blood's mrits, therefore, His Mercy is better than my life, which depends on God's Creation Salvation and Mercy, through His Holy Spirit, Whom He sent in order to give me all which is necessary for me to be saved, faith, repentance, jesus's mind set, peace, consolation, God's Fear and delieverance from the evil one and darkness powers! men!

Hi Frank . To me , this is a deeply significant encounter . First ,let's think about the other encounters that take place at wells : Gen Ch 24 , Gen Ch 29 , Exo Ch 2 . In John Ch 4 V 27 the disciples marvel that Jesus is talking to a woman who is a Samaritan , in V 9 we see that she is a bit surprised also , a bit like a Cincinnati Bengals fan passing the time of day with a Pittsburgh Stealers fan . It doesn't often happen . She is at least honest about her relationships and the simplicity of her confession in V 17 always reminds me of Eve's very simple confession in Genesis . For me though , V 26 is the stunner . This is the only time that Jesus himself tells anyone who and what he is . And he picks a Samaritan woman . How many times in the gospels do other people say that he is the Christ , the Son of God and every time he tells them not to say that . He tells only this Samaritan woman . Matt Ch 16 V 20 , Mark Ch 1 V 23-25 , Mark Ch 8 V 27-30 , there are plenty more examples . In V 39 we read that she is instrumental in bringing her whole village to him . She does the work of a preacher , albeit unknowingly but that's what she does . A Samaritan woman , who is an anathema to Jews , brings others to Christ . As I said at the start , this is a deeply significant encounter .

It may be that He did not tell her "the Samaritan woman" to go and sin no more because He was sent to His own fiirst the Jews. Besides she never denied His rebuke but answered Him truthfully. Also, salvation is of the jews first. He also didn't tell the Phoenician woman or the centurion to go and sin no more either. The whole world would have be in darkness and sin until Christ removed their cloak. First the jews then the gentiles. The Samaritan woman would have been second, but Christ's Grace always super abounds!

Thank God that His Son Jesus was that Great Light that shown and lights all men's hearts that took the sins of the whole world! Praise God and to Him be the Glory!

    Proverbs 23:13-14

    Proverbs 23:13-14

    King James Version

13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

Many modern parents struggle with this commandment from God. They do not think a parent should spank (or beat) a child in discipline. The problem with human thinking and God's commands is that they ofter conflict. I recommend parents obey God rather than their emotions or the advice of unbelievers.

    Ezekiel 18:2

    Ezekiel 18:2

What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?

Some people think they are unfairly suffering evil or going to hell because of Adam's sin, but that is not true. God rebuked that idea in Ezekiel 18. Nobody goes to hell for Adam's sin but sinners who go to hell go there for their own sin of rejecting Jesus in favor of sin.

18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

    Romans 5

12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Of course I believe that all men inherit the sin nature from Adam, but nobody is condemned to hell forever for Adam's sin. Sinners are condemned to hell for their own sin. There is a difference.

God rebuked those who misrepresented the truth by claiming God was judging them for the sins of others, including their fathers (Adam was the father of sinners). In Ezekiel 18 He rebuked the claim that "the fathers have eaten sour grapes and the children's teeth are set on edge.

Lord God please heal Russell, heal all of us from cancer. Rebuke, bind, and remove every cancer cell in us. Cancer CANNOT stand in Your presence. I believe that. Help us to live in Your presence. Fill us with Your spirit. All things are possible to us who believe. Faith is free, believing is something we can all do. So help us God, heal our unbelief. Thank You Lord Jesus! Lead us into Your healing. Give us this testimony that You still heal people today. Let us see Your salvation. In Jesus name, Amen

Russell, I've been on the net to see what God's been doing with cancer in the believers. The Lord is still healing people. There is hope. Maybe this is where some find their faith. I searched God heals cancer videos. Wade through the results and watch.

If we are truly born again with the indwelling Holy Spirit; we are sheep.

We need to ponder upon what Jesus taught in Matthew 25:31-46 in reference to the future Bema Seat Judgment by Jesus.

1 Corinthians 3:12 we've built upon Jesus's foundation with (wood, hay, stubble, gold, silver, precious stones)

they will pass through the fire.

These are passages to show us that Christian Life is more than sitting in a pew at church.

When I was saved, I was not looking for Jesus to show up at my house in a vision so real, it shook me to my core. Later in the evening I got a peek at hell. It was surely a "Today is THE day of Salvation." I was saved, delivered, and filled with the Holy Spirit__and then I fell asleep in the floor. Next day was super!! I woke up to a brand new life. Every day since has been wonderful.

If I've learned anything, it's this: Jesus is Lord of all. Second in the Godhead. Jesus sits on the throne of my heart. He gave me the Holy Spirit. He is precious to me. Jesus gave Him to me to keep my life straight. Jesus joins me to the Father. My Abba.

I'm full, filled, with Love. That's how it should be every day, for everybody. If you accept Jesus knocking on the door of your heart, open that door. Don't close the door on them.

People can drag us down. Mock us, betray and shun us. They don't know another way to live. They close their eyes so they can't see the LIGHT. Sometimes it's lonely. It feels like no one wants to be saved.

Find just one person to listen to your testimony of how you came to believe in Jesus. There are hundreds of testimonies on this website. Let's hold on to each other. We're stronger.

Hang on tight to Jesus. He is alive. He's strong for us. Don't let the world cheat you and steal your joy. Be humble and Kind. We love on Jesus by doing what He asks in Matthew 25. It's not scary. One foot in front of another.

A steady diet of news on tv will paralyze us. This world will pass away.

I support ministries that promote careful obedience to the Word of God. For example, there is a passage which seems to indicate women should keep quiet in the church.

    1 Corinthians 14:34

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

Romans 10:9. What must a sinner do to be saved?

Say 5 Hail Marys? Sell everything and give to the poor? Do more good deeds than bad deeds? Get baptized? Speak in tongues? Join the church? Do something else? None of those things are listed in this verse.

    Romans 10:9

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
