Hi Marke , I've been enjoying your posts a lot lately , thankyou . A thought that I find quite awesome is that not only did all the events depicted in the Bible actually happen and exactly as the narrative tells us , but that every bit of these events , God caused to be written and preserved for us , you and me , right here right now , to learn from . God is beyond all space and time . All of the Bible , every bit of it , is for us to learn from . There is not one extraneous sentence ( unlike most of the novels I've read ) . Its mind boggling to me how awesome God is , He gives us free will but He already knows how we will use it . He leaves nothing to chance , we are all exactly where he wants us to be , we always have been and we always will be . This is why we must submit to Him in our day lives . In submitting to His Will for us we are showing our faith in Him and in His love and mercy towards us and in His righteousness in knowing what is best for us . God doesn't just teach us through the Bible . I firmly believe that He teaches us the lessons that we , as individuals need to learn in order for us to be better Christians and therefore acceptable to Him in the day of judgement . I believe that in our daily lives we need to be alert to where we are and who we are with and what we are witnessing , as all of these things may be pertinent to our development as Christians . I also believe that if we are closed off to learning we shall die spiritually . Keep your heart and mind open , open to God and His Word and His Word made flesh and what is going on in your life and how you can learn to be a better Christian through your day to day life experiences . Thanks again for your excellent posts .

I believe O LORD, help me on my litle faith. I believe in YOU O LORD, that YOU are The Begotten Son of GOD, that ressurrected from the dead.

I praise YOU O LORD, for YOUR Salvation, by Jesus's Justice. I want to forguive all man's deeds against me, forguive my sins and give me THY SPIRIT O LORD, today, in Jesus's name, men!

I am sure you have heard the expression "You must be born again." That is because, when your born - you are a demon's puppet. And to be born again you must receive Jesus as your savior. By doing so, you are spiritually born again.

I would like to call your attention to first Thessalonians chapter 5 verse 23" And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; { to the full or entire extent completely}.and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ" There are three parts to a human being, spirit soul and body. When you are born your spirit has a sinful nature

Now the Spirit is the real you. Your soul is the intellectual part of you. This is where all your reasonings and ideas come together. It is better known as your mind. This is how the demons control you. If you are filled with the Holy Spirit, he will also control you through your mind. Your mind is the battlefield for good and evil. The thoughts that you act upon, determine the outcome of your life.

It is up to you to fulfill Philippians chapter 2 verse 5 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus" Being born again is the only way to fulfill this verse! When you die your spirit and soul leave your body and lives forever. It is up to you where you spend eternity. Because your memory will be functioning - and you will be remembering the choices you made - hopefully, you are in heaven and not hell.

Sins always brings about judgement from the LORD. The leaders in Jerusalem caused the people and the Nation to err. This brought about GOD'S judgement and in this case of our scripture reading captivity. Our sins have caused OUR GOD to remove HIS hand of mercy, peace, and comfort from upon us. GOD does not cast us out from HIS presence, but when we sin we throw ourselves out first.

We have allowed our elected leaders, on most every level of our society, on most every level of economics, and specially spiritually to lead us away from the LORD GOD JESUS CHRIST. We have allowed the voice of the minority to over power us and dictate to us a life style we do not believe praises the LORD according to Scripture.

The LORD GOD is our only hope and peace on this earth. Thankfully, if you are saved by the grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, then your eternal destiny has already been determined.

Our life here on earth is supposed be abundant and the envy of other countries; however it is not because we have departed from the faith of the LORD and HIS Word.

Praying for our POTUS Biden, VPOTUS Harris, SOHR Pelosi, SML Schumer, all the sitting members of the US congress, and senate to come to their senses and LEAD with the mind and desire of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Praying for our spiritual leaders- our pastors, and all the saints to rise up in prayer and worship the LORD in truth and in spirit. We may not be able to stop the present evil to come, but we can plant the seed of the gospel into more hearts and souls as the LORD would have us to do. We ask You FATHER GOD for courage and wisdom in order to walk through the evil that is before us.

    PS 23:3 -5; 1 Corinthians 10:13; Colossians 1: 10-13;

GOD bless all on this forum. The LORD shine HIS grace and peace on you and your family.

I don't see the verse reference you're referring to. One reference site on-line said the red letters were not added until 1900s. Another reminds us all scripture is 2Timothy 3:16-17, a third made a point that color blind cannot see to read the red print.

I thought how I remembered recently I came across a scripture also. But as I looked through out to find it, I noticed this translation actually even has Jesus words in red in Revelation, Acts, all throughout Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.

    Hopefully this information is helpful

What Proverbs says about associating with sinners seems to conflict with the New Testament and how it says to treat sinners.

For example I understand the parable of not casting your pearls before swine to mean that you shouldn't treat people like swine yet proverbs says not to mettle with these types.

    Please explain.

    Thank you!

OK. Perhaps the number 6,000 is too strict an interpretation that includes every bit of instruction given in the Bible meant by God to be obeyed. Wikipedia lists more than 600 commands that are what most scholars recognize as God's commandments.
  • Marke - In Reply - 2 years ago
You make reference to the only time the word "sabbath" is found in the NT epistles. Herfe is the verse in context:

    Colossians 2

    13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

    14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

The message here is that God has blotted out the handwriting of ordinances (commandments) for Christians. We don't serve God in the oldness of the letter but in the newness of the Spirit.

    Romans 7:6

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

Therefore, let no man entice you to attempt to serve God by keeping ordinances of meat or drink or respecting OT holy days, new mons, or the sabbaths.

If we love Jesus we will seek to honor and obey the intent of His precepts, not focus on the dead letter of the various commandments.

    2 Corinthians 3:6

Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
  • Marke - In Reply - 2 years ago
Maybe we should approach the subject of "commandments" from a different angle. Jesus said,

    John 14:15

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

The Greek word translated "commandments" in John 14 is also translated "precept" in Mark 10, indicating the divorce precept written by Moses was also a "commandment." Jesus was not instructing saints to focus on the letter of the law (ten commandments), but the spirit of the law (spiritual applications.)

    Mark 10

2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.

3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?

4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.

5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.

If we love Jesus we will keep His precepts.

    Psalm 119:4

Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.

    Psalm 119:45

And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.

    Psalm 119:78

Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts.

    Psalm 119:100

I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.

The Bible is full of God's instruction (thousands of various precepts) He intends on us seeking to honor the spiritual application of.

    Nehemiah 9:14

And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant:

    Question 1.

When we die and go to heaven to be with GOD what is going to stop us from sinning again like Adam and Eve?

    Question 2.

When we die and go to Heaven will we remember all the sin that we committed in this life?

    Dear Deborah,

How are you feeling tonight? I am praying for you. It is hard to go through such difficult times.

    Dear Lord Jesus,

Please come to Deborah's aid right away and bring her relief from these difficulties. We ask that You deliver her from depression and stress. Help her to be able to attend to her schoolwork with a clear mind and peaceful heart. We ask that You help her family in their troubles. Bring Your grace and truth to each one in this family that all may come to You in faith and trust You for salvation and victory over the things that are getting them down and troubling them. We ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen.

Dear William, I am so sorry that you are suffering and unable to eat much. I will pray for you tonight.

Dear Lord Jesus, William stands in need of Your healing touch tonight. We ask that You soothe his stomach and calm his valves from his esophagus into his stomach so that the stomach acid will stay put and not travel up his esophagus into his throat and mouth area. We ask that You heal any erosion from his stomach up to his mouth area. We ask that you allow him to discover foods that he can tolerate to get needed nutrition into his body. We ask that William's doctors will be given wisdom to know the most effective treatment for him. Bring William prompt relief from this ailment, Lord. We ask all these things in Your name Jesus, Amen.

Dear Sister GiGi, I actually had a fourth of my thyroid removed 5 yrs ago due to a nodule that turned out to be non cancerous. I never had any problems with that. It was still a big deal at the time. And yes. It's always something PTL.

:-). I will be praying for you. I didn't think back then to ask for a healing. Today Thats my first prayer. My moms dog got a healing of a lump he had in his neck for 2 years. From us laying our hands on it. That was really exciting for me! I've been with my sister helping her with meals and prayer & encouragement. Not feeling well myself but you know I honestly love theLord and I worship Him from the depths of my soul even though I haven't been feeling well lately. I really just wanna make the most of all my days now.
  • Chris - In Reply on Jeremiah 18 - 2 years ago
Thanks Marke. That's a difficult concept for us to properly grasp. On the one hand, we have an Omniscient God ( Psalm 147:5; Psalm 139:1-4; Isaiah 40:28), and then we see as in Jeremiah 18:8-10, "If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them. And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them": occasions when God 'repents' (or, is sorry, changes His Mind) when 'a nation obeys or disobeys Him'.

I agree with you, God does give us free Will, but also the wherewithal to make proper decisions based on our knowledge of Him & His Word. Though He knows ultimately what we will do at the time of our decision, seeing Him 'repent' could indicate that His change of Mind is at the physical/material level: that of altering the course of events based on man's decision. I never see that God is caught by surprise by man's good or evil acts, rather that He deliberately acts according to man's actions. His Omniscience never changes, but His Acts for or against man are made as a result of man's decisions.
