This Book is the most personal of all of Apostle Paul's letters. Like the other Prison letters that we have in the Bible, this too was written by Paul when he was confined in a Roman prison at the first. Onesimus is one of millions of slaves that were used & often badly treated in the Roman Empire, but sadly Onesimus did great wrong & stole from his master, Philemon, & to make matters worse, he ran away knowing what could happen to him. Eventually he made his way to Rome where he crossed paths with Paul & Paul led him to faith in Christ (v10).
Now, as a Christian, Onesimus had a new problem: he had to do his Christian duty & return to his master. And since death was mandatory for such a crime (don't know whether Christian masters carried this out), Paul took the initiative to write this deeply personal letter, interceding on Onesimus' behalf. And this is also an important letter to other Christians who had slaves (more like bond-servants) concerning their relationship to their slave-brothers in Christ, if they had any. In Colossians 4:1 we see another instance of employing slaves by Christians.
Paul didn't want to deny Philemon's rights over Onesimus, but wanted him to deal with him as a brother in Christ (v16). So sincere was Paul, that he even offered to pay back what Onesimus had stolen (vv18,19). We don't know the outcome, but it's possible that Philemon did give Onesimus his freedom & sent him back to Paul (v14 is how this verse is translated). Ignatius of Antioch, in his letter to the Ephesians, mentions that Onesimus later became a minister & then a bishop (a leading elder) of the Church at Ephesus. He was an outstanding example to them in his love & Christian qualities. All this showing us, how wonderfully God can change even the vilest of us into mighty tools in His Hands.

From my translation it says in a footnote about the impurity of adultery on earth. So that translation also explains my thoughts.
Unfortunately, i can not see what you are aiming for somewhere from your referrals, but they speak to me! But have God's peace and do not be terrified in your heart. For some are slow you know. By all means you may be right, he who lives will see.
I am not saying now that the prophets did not speak the truth, but only to emphasize that Isaiah lived 700 years before Christ. And all the things he writes about were also about what was close at the time. We know how things went with Babylon.
I understand you too, dear friend but the United States is not Babylon. (i read and understand Babylon was Iran / Iraq a few years ago and they are God's Enemies from then until now). But since evil and fornication have come to through the world and the people who live in it, (we do) the Prophet also speaks here to every living person. Where self-denial and greed live and mm.
The good thing about the Day of Judgment sermon is that someone turns to faith from dead works to faith in the living God Jesus Christ who went through heaven for you and me and everyone else.
At the same time, those who do not understand the doomsday sermon will think they are lost for the rest of their days and that there is no hope. We must never forget the wars that have taken place, not even Nagasaki and Hiroshima. But we must aim at the Heavenly Land where Jesus Christ Is. And that all living things are the work of God.

Cain was a rebellious and proud man. He wanted to do things his own way - not God's. God asked for first fruits and gave was he was willing to discard instead. His brother Abel, on the other hand, had a God-seeking heart. He was willing to obey The Lord's commands and brought the prescribed sacrifice of his best for the Lord. Cain harbored hatred, deceit, and anger in his heart. He gave in to his passions and greed. His sacrifice and lack of repentance after God personally chastised him exposes his sinful heart. If Cain had accepted God's correction, God would have forgiven him.
When God asks us to do things a certain way, we must obey Him without question. However, God is not looking for obedience out of fear of punishment (though fear is the beginning of wisdom), God is looking for us to want to obey because we love Him supremely, above all things.

Very true, Love is the greatest of all from the Spirit; if the Church focussed on exercising that towards God & one another, the gathering of believers would be immensely different & patterned to how Christ intended for His Church to function. But other issues & problems creep in & the foundation of Love is eroded, sometimes totally broken up. But restoration & healing are always available when sin is identified & the Lord's Face is sought in sorrow & humility.

John 14:6, Acts 4:12, John 3:16
Only those who believe and follow Jesus will receive salvation. This who reject Jesus should not expect salvation.

The only scripture I ran across that gives a description of the glorified Jesus Christ in Revelation 1:12-17. And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Now if you would have seen him you would probably run. Just kidding.
I don't believe it was meant for us to put a great emphasis on the way he looked, Just what he came to do!!

Thank God that in the Book of Daniel, Russia's ancient name, (GOG, Magog) gets nuked by God.
I'm sick because no one on this planet realizes those countries are serious and there is no where for all the displaced people to go. They have plans to invade Israel too!! We know how that's going to go.

God foreknew the they would stumble when he made the promises and covenant. That's why he performed the covenant with Abraham alone.

"in vain" could mean without faith,
You must have the ability the put the end times in perspective by trumpets, or you will be contextually confused. It's not hard to do. Focus on the last 3 trumpets that are for our generation, as this generation will not pass before the fulfillment. The 4 previous trumpets were WWI, WWII, Korea & Vietnam, and are past.
5th trumpet = 9-11-01 "war on terror" was Revelation 9:1-11 The scripture and date look almost identical, they are identifiable and by no mistake. Our esoterical owners picked that date for a reason, because it fits prophesy. Look at vs 4:
4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
The US army, like locust, swarmed the ME to kill Muslims (no seal in foreheads) and didn't hurt green things (no green things in desert).
*THIS IS WHERE WE ARE PROPHETICALLY, WAITING ON THE 6TH SEAL* = Rev 6:14 attack/scroll, then Rev 6:12 earthquake kicks off the day of the Lord, vs 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
6th Trumpet = the day of the Lord attack on Mystery Babylon and the Babylon System. This begins anti-Christs rule of 42 months rule.
The attack is so powerful that it knocks the earth off its axis, Isaiah 24:20. The earth is ruined from the beast destroying Babylon, 900 US bases worldwide. As a result, the moon and stars won't give their light 1/3rd the day. The Russian beast and China false prophet will bitterly fight each other with their "flying fiery serpent" (nuclear devices), Isaiah 14:29.
7th trumpet = This beast infighting will cause Jesus Messiah to return to earth to stop the fragmented beast army from completely destroying the earth. So, Jesus has a definite reason for intervening, and defeating all armies. This begins the 1,000 year reign of transfigured Christ, having a new name that only He knows.
