    I should not have said,

As a result, the creatures also share in the reign of Christ and the fulfillment of the promised hope of His Spirit of adoption in us.

The way I wrote that implies the creature reigns and in all ways would be the same as those that receive the adoption as sons, which would be wierd and Paul does not teach that. I did not intend to say that. Even if I had changed the word share to benefit or something else, I should not have asserted this statement or most of what I said with such certainty. Paul's words were:

21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

I should have just quoted the full Romans passage and said it potentially has application to the question with much less commentary. Looking back at what I wrote and reading through the full passage more carefully I admit I did a rather slipshod and overstated exegesis of it.

When I was in high school all the kids went to the same church. That's just how was. We lived in the country and had to ride the school bus. Every day we went by this little country Baptist church. On a sign out front there was a.bible verse from Romans that said, "The wages of sin is death." I knew I was a sinner but that verse bothered me. So I graduated from high school, got married and had2 children right away. My parents had started going to church but I had no idea where. They came by our home on New Years Eve. They said we are having a New Years Eve service tonight. Going to be singing, testimonies, and all kinds of food. I thought go to church on New Years Eve? That wasn't my idea of fun on New Years. We told them we.would think about it. Well with 2 kids there wasn't a lot to do. So we called and asked for directions, but they said just come here and follow us. As we followed them I thought, this is my old bus route. Sure enough they turned in the drive to that little country church with the same verse still outside. We went in and mom and dad was introducing us to everyone and I thought, wait a minute I did come here to join up with a church. At midnight the invitation was given. God convicted me of what that verse meant.I went forward and fell on my knees and God to forgive of all my sins. When I stood up I saw my mom on her knees at the altar. God sure works in mysterious ways. He already had plans for me at that little country church. At the church I went to as a teenager, the message I got was you have to be baptized to be saved. I did follow Jesus in baptism. But now I knew what that sign out front meant. Thank you God for saving my soul. Thank you for making me whole! That's my testimony.

    Hi QuilaD.

    Here's the requested scriptures.

Genesis 4:4-7 (KJV) And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Hebrews 11:4 (KJV) By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

    Welcome to the site and

    God bless.

    Hi Valerie.

The scripture says. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. Hebrews 11:4.

Now faith comes by hearing the word of God.

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17.

So apparently they were instructed to offer what Abel offered which we find in Genesis 4:4.

"And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:"

This was a sacrifice pointing to the Lord Jesus Christ, who would later come and be a sacrfice for the whole world. John 1:29. "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."

Faith comes by hearing the word, so apparently Adam may have preached this to them, Abel demonstrated his faith by his offering. "Obedience and belief in what he was commanded to do.

Cain demonstrated unbelief by disregarding and disbelieving in what he was told.

Look at Gods response to Cain.

"But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him." Genesis 4:5-7.

Under the old covenant they offered up sacrifices pointing to one to come (Jesus).

The death of Christ ended that Covenant. read Hebrews 9:13-20.

    Now we offer up ourselves.

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." Romans 12:1.

    I hope that helps.

    God bless.

    Psalm 23:5

If you look at 1Samuel 16:1-13,

Notice they didn't invite David to the special dinner, yet : 1Samuel 16:11, "And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, there yet remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said to Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down til he come hither"

& 1Samuel 16:13 "Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward." ._..

This was lived by David the writer of the Psalm, Psalms 23:1,

    Additionally, please see 1Samuel 17:13-15, 1Samuel 17:17-58, 1Samuel 17:28-29, Matthew 10:36,

Thank you so much for sharing. I really appreciate that you took the time to share your knowledge. I will most definitely start my day reading each scripture, taking my time to meditate on them too...

I'm on a mission, but a little bit insecure. As long as I know and trust that God put me here for a reason, I'll get it right..

And yes, King David is a good example of a man after God's heart, with the many mistakes he has made, and still went back to God for correction, guidance and forgiveness. I think, the generations I've seen before me and my own, tend to get too caught up in our wrongdoings and condemn ourselves to what seems like no return, back home, to Christ...

One of my favorite sayings! Say it Loud.

Jesus' first coming gave hope, and his second coming will bring a joy that will last forever for those who are following him. We live in the messy middle between these two points. We look back and praise God that Christ has come. And we look forward and trust God that Christ will come again. By balancing our lives between these two comings, we find perspective for this momentary existence we find ourselves in, and we find ourselves moved to pray, "Come, Lord Jesus!" and feel glorious anticipation with each beat of our hearts that gets us closer to the day that "we shall see [him] face to face" ( 1 Corinthians 13:12).

I had a dream about seeing HIM; I believe it was Jesus, it wasn't like most movies portray. HE was very clean & neat, hair only little long like a "bob hair cut" HIS hair was brushed not curly but straight, average size & height, (perfect weight) I was startled to see the nail prints, they were not where I expected (because of movies ) Soon after there was a divine protection in that dwelling.

Yes, it is America. America turned it's back on God long ago and decided to go it alone. America is synonymous with Mystery Babylon Rev 17 and will receive the curse of Sodom and Gomorrah at the day of the Lord. No other nation on earth is as decadent or corrupt as America.

America and America's vassals, NATO, Japan, S. Korea, Israel, represent the 'Babylon system' in which they operate in. They all get taken down to hell at the 6th trumpet, 2nd woe.

    Isaiah 14:5-9

5 The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.

6 He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.

7 The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

8 Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

9 Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

Who else could America possibly be to think they will sit a queen forever, and never experience widowhood or the loss of children? For in one day both shall come, and no on will save them. Isaiah 47.

Russia is poised to levy the greatest attack in the history of the world. Deny the Russian beast security, and nobody will have security, you will have baldness and clean teeth. Perpetual war, and then it comes, and all hearts will melt, etc.
  • Accumulating Gods Wisdom - In Reply - 3 years ago
Sometimes I think ( just me maybe), wisdom begins in Leviticus 26, and Deuteronomy 28.

Knowing what God approves of and what He judges, will put us out in front of the murky areas of real life.

Every time we read the Book of Revelation, God blessed us! Revelation 1:3

Proverbs is a good starting place if you don't speed read through them. Read also Ecclesiastes; written by Solomon. Who became polluted by the 900 women in his household.

My personal favorite story is about Gideon. He went from terrified; to being a great leader with Gods help.

Psalms helps us to see through the lense of King David's life. He had ups and downs. It always drove him to God. We see ourselves in those stories often. Our own experiences are similar; so it's a good place to find comfort.

The wisdom of reading the Gospels is to meet Jesus, the Son of Man. Study his reactions, his comments, how he taught groups and also one-on-one when needed.

He is real. He was in the tomb 3 days, but he came out of it alive and Victorious. He knows exactly what every human being has done or not done.

You don't have to read dozens of helps books. If you read the Bible like a detective looking for clues, you'll find Jesus in every place you go. When you go outside to enjoy some sun-notice all the birds praising the Lord (for bugs) and then the trees giving God wave offerings (because of rain).

I don't look at what the WORLD is doing. We know what they're doing. The Natural Man is busy sinning and trying to sell that to others any way they can. Those of us that are alive Spiritually (born again) have chosen to follow Jesus. I examine everything He says in the Bible. I don't think we should lay down and let the Devil monkey stomp us. Ephesians 6, says to fight back. Jesus is our example always.

Prayer is not complicated. Speak to Jesus just as if He's in the room with you. God hates mixtures. Live spiritually and avoid falling into ditches.

    Deuteronomy 28:66

And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:

    Isaiah 32:17

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

    Acts 17:31

Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

    Colossians 2:2

    That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

    1 Thessalonians 1:5

For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

    Hebrews 6:11

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

    Hebrews 10:22

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

By consenting to become a born again Christian ( John 3)

    To let go and receive the salvation of Jesus Christ;

To be filled with the Spirit of Jesus, the Holy Spirit.

An exchange is made in Heaven as your name is recorded in the BOOK OF LIFE. Jesus takes your sins (past, present, future) upon Himself. He becomes your Lord; but it takes some Bible reading to discover that.

You have assurance that FAITHFUL IS HE THAT PROMISED. All your sin is washed away with his blood. Isaiah 1:18. (Past, Present, Future)

If we have failures (we all do) then mark in your Bible,

1 John 1:8-10. Pray and confess. Jesus throws it as far as East is to west (infinity).

This is why we sing Blessed Assurance at Church. :)

    Build Christian friendships.

No. There are 67scriptures with the word GOVERNOR in it. Go to the Search Box (out on the red entry page) and type: Roman Governor

The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.

    Isaiah 6:8

    Romans 1:20

    Colossians 2:9

    Acts 17:27-30

Since height and weight isn't mentioned I assume he was average. He fasted and walked a lot and worked with his hands as a carpenter so he was probably trim. Middle eastern diet was probably fairly healthy as it is today.

Middle easterners are usually dark hair, dark eyes, medium skin tone and Jesus was probably average in that area too since it wasn't mentioned.

Some go overboard on skin color as if they want to score points for their own skin color 'team', despite us believers already being on the same team. The world loves dividing, not uniting. So, I'm against the whole premise of trying to twist scripture to make Jesus arrive at ones preferred color.

But logically, if you go to the middle east today people have medium skin tone. Those who are out in the sun a lot are darker. Since they walked a lot back then they were in the sun for many many hours and were probably quite tan from the sun if they didn't cover up.

I think you're asking about Cain's offering to God in Gen 4:3-5.

This is just speculation, but it maybe had to do with their heart and motivations. Abel's offering was a bit higher quality as a blood sacrifice from an animal rather than Cain offering just crops, but I think God saw into Cain's heart and saw what he intended.
