Comment: When I spanked my son, we had 15 min time outs to let go of anger and fear. I told him exactly why he was being punished.

Later when he began lying I made him a "deal". If he would tell the truth no matter how bad it was: I would forgive him. He learned honesty after that. Later, pride in his responsibility for his own failures.

Book of Proverbs has lots of insight into child rearing. If the scripture says 'beat', it does not mean mark up the child's skin. Teach personal responsibility. Reward when they do things right; a hug, a popsicle and a smile.

Hello Ben, The brethren here have given you good replies. I just want to add that David did not initially order that the Ark be according to the Law (which would be by two poles carried on the shoulders of the sons of Kohath or the Levites). Uzzah's dead really got David's attention. He may have realized that he had not ordered the Ark to be carried properly and thus had culpability in Uzzah's death. He may have thought, "If not that I was God's anointed king, I may have been struck with death also."

So, the stopped and put and housed the Ark in the home of one who happened to be a Kohath (unbeknownst to David).

So, after some time, they had gathered enough sons of Kohath to properly carry the Ark to Jerusalem. David was so very happy to have the Ark finally returned to the Temple in Jerusalem he led the procession with uninhibited dancing and shouts of praise, singing, and sheer abandon to worship to God. He was in obedience to God in the way the ark was being carried, reveling in its return to its proper place in the Holy of Holies where the glory of the Lord was revealed on the mercy seat, and had been rightly educated by the death of Uzzah. He accepted this correction personally and deeply.

Jehovah or Yahweh are variants on the Hebrew name for God: YHWH This name was given by God as HIs name for the Israelites in Egypt to know him by when He called Moses from the burning bush in the backside of the desert near Mt. Sinai (Horeb). When Moses asked God by what name shall He tell the Israelites He is. God said YHWH; which means I AM THAT I AM or I AM WHO I AM or I WILL BE WHOM I WILL BE. All of these names speak to His eternal existence and self-existence, meaning that God never had a beginning and no one (or nothing) else gave Him existence. That is why Jesus says that He is the Life and that He and the Father have life within themselves. They are the source of life because they are Life of Existence Itself.

In Exodus 3:6 where God gives this name, He also identifies Himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob so that Moses knows that He is the same God that related to these forefathers that he and the Israelites knew about. God also identifies Himself as God Almighty or The Most High, as He was known to Abraham and others before revealing this name to Moses.

These names reveal something about God's nature to us, but these are all names of the One True God. So, most likely Moses relayed to the Israelites this new name (YHWH) and informed them that the God of their forefathers is this same God YHWH.

In the Old Testament, (as Chris and T. Levis cited) God identified Himself as I AM THAT I AM or in Hebrew YHWH.

This is where we get the names Yahweh or Jehovah. I prefer to write YHW. But the pronunciation has produced the names Yahweh or Jehovah or a few other variants.

I looked up Beth Togarmah on several maps. It seems that the people of Togarmah originally settled in southern turkey above Syria. then later maps show Togarmah in northern Turkey just south of the Black Sea. And other maps show Togarmah between the Black and Caspian Seas in the Caucasus Mountain area. So, in these modern times, perhaps the people of Togarmah are still in the Caucasus area or maybe they migrated farther north, as Ezekiel 38 seems to imply.

Blessed, I usually compare some translations when I'm searching something out deeply. I believe it's good & important to do that. It gives us a deeper depth of understanding. I find some scriptures I may like a translation better in another version but I've been studying this one most recently. We are truly blessed to have many translations of The Bible available today.

By just a guess possibly David wrote, 1st because David is given credit for many or most Psalms by pastoral reputation.

2nd because the quote 10,000 shall fall at my right hand Psalms 91:7, 1Samuel 21:11, 1Samuel 18:7, 1Samuel 29:5,

3rd, 1Chronicles 22:9, 3Chronicles 30:24-26, Isaiah 39:8, showing peace in Solomon's days & Hezekiah's.

4th, Psalms 91:13 treacd upon the lion, 1Samuel 17:33-37,

Benaiah however could possibly be also because of

1st, 1Chronicles 15:20,24, 1Chronicles 16:5,6, 1Chronicles 11:24, 1Kings 1:36, was noted with Psalmist

2nd, was mighty in battle 1Kings 1, and loyal to King David, King Solomon; GOD's appointed 1Chronicles 11:22-24, 1Chronicles 27:5,

Dear Blessed, congratulations for coming to Christ and thanks for sharing your story.

Based on what you described, it sounds like you think the words were Blessed then changed to Happy. If you speak more than one language I'm sure you know that often it is a judgment call which word best represents the original meaning and some translate word for word like the KJV and others by phrase or thought. Just because there is a derivation, it doesn't automatically mean its wrong or done with ill intent. I believe a translation like the KJV is extremely meticulous and prayerful inviting God to protect the accuracy. So, based on what you shared, I believe you may have it backwards that it was originally Happy and some newer ones have translated it to Blessed and I will explain why I believe this.

If you go to: Link and you scroll down to Other Translations and click that, it will show you other translations. Notice that all have some variation of the word Happy except for the newer translation NASB which says Blessed. I believe the KJV is a very accurate and trustworthy translation.

If you want more evidence, click that little link to view the Bible scan as that shows the original KJV printing and I see that the KJV has always had the word Happie/Happy for more than 400 years.
