I am not directing this at anyone. Just wish to clarify that. It's just what's on my heart right now. Globally. It's more about why we have so many denominations.

My name is Dianne Eversley, I saw a comment saying this is not a good time to be historical. I beg to defer, the Bible especially the prophetic books, if we don't know the history of all these books we will be lost in our understanding. We have to know when the Bible is revelatory, historical, prophecy, and when it's fact.

    Hi Raymond.

    Disobedience.

God gave them a Commandment not eat of the tree of "Knowledge of good and evil.

It seems there was something significant about that Knowledge.

Perhaps it's what they would do once they found out they were naked. "Cover themselves?"

    Naked here may mean

    "sin/flesh exposed. Vulnerable.

Before they were created there was a Savior ordained to come that would be an atonement for the whole world.

    God bless

    Hi GiGi,

Thank you for your response. I believe we are in agreement, and just wanted to comment/elaborate on something. You said: "So then, why should we keep His laws? Because it is in keeping the 10 commandments and all that God instructs us to do that allows us to give love to God an others."

I agree, but I also would like to add that Jesus tells us repeatedly throughout the scripture to follow the commandments, including this powerful scripture spoken by Jesus to Apostle John approximately 50 years after His ascension into Heaven. If the Commandments were nailed to the cross and are no longer viable as many try to argue, why is Jesus still telling us that following his commandments are necessary - 50 years after His crucifixion?

    Revelation 22:14

"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."

Will those people that don't try to follow His commandments get to enter into the City? It doesn't sound like it to me! This is a very compelling reason for trying follow His Commandments, in may opinion - probably the best reason.

Finally, I agree it is His Holy Spirit working in us, allowing the ability to truly follow His Commands!

    God Bless.

When we look at Babylon and it's "daughter" (verse 1); we see many characteristics similar to the USA. Our nation certainly has occult practices associated with the construction of cities such as Washington DC (the monument and street patterns of downtown); the back of the dollar bill; and the more recent proliferation of the drug (pharmakia) and pornography industry which is now characteristic of online websites that infect the entire world. The "lady" of kingdoms mentioned in verse 5 certainly could be an analogy to the pagan origin of the Statue of Liberty in New York City; where many consider the city representing economic Babylon is. Our prosperity and military strength is unparalleled; and we are situated on many waters; as other verses in Jeremiah describe. It is true; of course that such activities in the occult also are present in other areas of the world; including the Mideast where it appears an ecumenical plan for one world religion is well underway. The patience of God in forestalling judgment over the roughly 60 million abortions our nation has performed certainly isn't unique either; although we pioneered the industry and sadly; upon examination it appears such practices were fairly widespread going well back into the 19th Century in America. Sudden destruction stated in verse 11 will bring the fire of hell of verse 14 which no one can deliver themselves from. We do have a Christian heritage as well; but this world is not our home. We do best to keep the mindset of being adopted children who are pilgrims in this life. It is when things seem comfortable that we are at greatest risk to become lukewarm and think things will always remain the same. Remember Revelation; He comes quickly.

Romans 3 : 31 Do we make void the law by Faith God forbid we establish the law....If we are bornagain by that incorruptible seed

the law is established in our hearts....That new birth is when Christ is born in us...Thats y he always refered to himself as the SON OF MAN...Mankind is gonna birth a baby Christ.

But God had something much greater in mind then just the law....He wants us to be Gods...To whom the word came ( His Seed )

that NEW COVENANT....It made them Gods and this scripture cannot be broken....God wants to make humanity another CHRIST

JESUS...Jesus was God the SON...This is much greater then the old levitical Priesthood....Thats y the prophets were soo amazed

saying what manner of love has the Father bestowed upon us....When they read the scripture saying I HAVE SAID YE ARE GODS

And there is no upper case or lower case in Hebrews....In the parable of the sower and his seed he is saying something to

Humanity....which is his living WORDS, Thats y OUR LORD SAID TO WHOM THE WORD CAME ( HIS SEED. The contents of the

Book ) It made them Gods and the scripture cannot be broken....This is much greater then the law and the LEVITICAL

Priesthood....We are gonna be Gods simply b/c Christ who is God is gonnabe multiplied as the Stars of heaven...And if that is

not intimate enough...We are gona be Married to GOD....Don't forget that little diddy....The great marriage of the lamb (CHRIST

JESUS) and us are gonna be made 1....If we are gonna be married to GOD as Isaiah said ye thinK we are gonna be able to

break the law.....No the law is gonna be established by this new covenant it gonna make us Gods...I have said ye are Gods and

and the sower and his SEED is what he is saying to us...And to whom the word came it made them Gods...k mi voy

My heart longs for this special day with God. I am feeling led to keep this day holy to the Lord. I'm not perfect at it yet. Nobody I know does it. But when I have set the Sabbath day apart and just stayed home and worshipped and rested in the Lord...I got so blessed! It was like the best church service ever, in my soul, right at home, on my couch! That's the only way I can explain it.:-)). Everyone has to work out their own salvation.

Why does the prodigal son return home . He wasted his father's money in riotous living , which I think means a lot of sinful ( unlawful ) behaviour . Under the law he's done for . Outcast . He returns home because he has faith in his father . He knows and believes that his father loves him and is willing to forgive him because he is merciful . Can u c the message to us in this parable ? The law isn't merciful . God is . Through our faith in what Christ did for us we r God's children . We r forgiven and welcomed by Him . He saw us , each one of us , coming from afar and He ran out to welcome us and bring us in to His Kingdom .

Jernej, we are not robots. God gave us free will to do His will or to do evil. You can choose between porn and God's commandments. It is hard, but all things are possible with God. Ask Him to forgive you and mean it by repenting, that is, never doing it again. Immerse yourself in Him by praying, reading His Word, singing, going to church, seeking fellowship with other Christians. When the devil gives you the urge to go back to porn, rebuke him and he will flee. James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Here are other verses that will help you.

--Corinthians 10:5 Take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Philippians 4:8: Whatever is... true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy.

-- Romans 8:38,39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

-- Ps. 56:3 Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.

-- Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

-- 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

-- Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

-- Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

-- Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

    Let this be your aim:

-- Galatians 2:20 - I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

    May God bless you!

What is it that we r supposed to have faith in ? God , His words that He has spoken that we read in the Bible , He will do what He has said He will , His Word made flesh Jesus Christ , His righteousness , His understanding which is limitless , His wisdom knowledge power beauty , and especially His love for us and His mercy . As a Father pitiest His children so He pities us and is very willing to forgive us if our heart belongs to Him , He knows our weaknesses , we need to trust in His love ,not in His laws but in His Son and what His Son did for us because of love . Think of the people u love most . How much do u love them ? Till it hurts right ? God loves u more than that .

As a fifteen year old I used to go to church , I won't say which denomination , in Sunday school one day , our teacher was talking to me and she get her purse , pulled out a ten dollar bill and said to me , very seriously : oh gosh ! When I got home last week I noticed that I hadn't paid my tithe ! I was horrified ! Imagine if I had died without paying it ! I would have gone straight to hell ! She believed that . Even as a fifteen year old I understood that that is not what God is about . He doesn't want fearful slaves . He wants our hearts , if we give Him them He will teach us His ways and show us what to do in any given situation , that's what Jesus did , he gave us the perfect example to show us how God wants us to behave . Like Jesus . It's that simple .

I don't believe we should ignore God's commandment , I believe that obeying them ( which is impossible , if u live for a long time , the longer I live the more sins I stack up ) doesn't make us righteous in His sight . We can't obey them all and under the law there is no forgiveness for disobeying them . Forgiveness comes in Christ , he is our righteousness , he and only he lived a totally sinless life . None of us r able to do that so we cannot keep the law perfectly . We r guilty under the law and deserving of death but in Christ and because of what he did for us we r clean and our lives r hid in him . We will b revealed to the world in our new form when Christ returns and changes our mortal bodies and makes us immortal like he is now . Behold , I make all things new . That means us too .

Hello Joyce. I'm not sure of the reference you're thinking of, but when we look at examples such as Psalm 73:26 or Lamentations 3:24, the phrase that God is "my portion", speaks of God being their 'possession'. This demonstrates by the Psalmist & Jeremiah (in Lamentations), that God was their special possession Who provided them with the confidence & strength to face whatever the uncertain future held for them.

Revelation 1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

2Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

3Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

    4John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

When I read the words in v 4, it became so to read as well.

Go bless u and yours in Jesus Holy Name.

I do not have it! Thanks for the info, they were heavy over Japan those who harmed humans, animals and landscapes there as well.

We can only hope it never happens again in this world. One thing we can do every hour and day. Pray for all people and all heads of state for wisdom and understanding That they will be filled with the Fear of God. And take care of such a responsibility.

Be blessed in His Holy Name Jesus Christ.

Hi Billy. In the early Church, after Christ's death & resurrection, the apostles appointed managers of God's people. Elders & deacons were appointed (e.g. Acts 14:23; 1 Timothy 3:10). Elders were to teach & guide Christ's Church according to the Word, for they must give account before God in their very serious & responsible position ( Hebrews 13:17). And of course, those blessed with pastoral (shepherding), teaching, evangelism, etc. endowments, also helped in the blessing & spiritual growth of the Church & propagation of the Gospel.

Unfortunately, many Fellowships today appoint committees & councils for managing Church affairs. Admittedly, Church administration is much more complex now than was encountered in the fledgeling Church, but returning back to the simple setup as given, is preferable. Indeed, the elders are tasked to oversee & manage Church affairs & I would say that all matters, even suggestions from the deacons, should be given due consideration & prayerful response. If the eldership refuses to listen to those expressing concern or giving suggestions, then there would be a fault in their understanding of being God's servants. The elders should not be overlords ( 1 Peter 5:1-4), rather lead by example, being willing & ever ready to serve the Church, knowing that they too are brethren with Christ's flock & are answerable to their Chief Shepherd.

What can you do about the problem in the Church? Not much, if this special committee refuses to listen to needs & suggestions. If it has been formerly put to them on paper & you cover their important position & their response in prayer, then you will need to leave the matter in the Lord's Hands. Jesus said that He will build His Church - He has the last word, not the committee.

Hello Bennie. Both 'election' & 'predestination' are never in the power or domain of mankind, but rests entirely in the omniscience & purposes of God. Most don't see much difference between those words as they both denote 'a special selection to receive a specific result'.

But the difference is apparent, where the 'elect' are the specially chosen of God (i.e. of Israel: Romans 11:26-28; and of the Church: Romans 8:33; 1 Peter 1:1,2; Colossians 3:12). And those of the elect (the Church now, as "blindness in part is happened to Israel" ( Romans 11:25), are predestined for a reason: Ephesians 1:11,12, to give praise to God's Glory (in His Love, redemption plan, life in the Spirit; all that Israel failed to grasp. And Ephesians 1:5, predestined to become His adopted children by Jesus Christ's Sacrifice; again that which Israel forfeited by their rejection of their Messiah). Though the day will come, when Israel will re-enter that blessed position when they bow before Jesus ( Romans 11:15-26) & both saved Jew & Gentile will share together as God's family.

I shared the above, though that wasn't your enquiry, as I hope that you might see that both 'election' & 'predestination' is all of God's Work according to His Will & Knowledge. We know that we are blessed in being God's elect & have been assured of adoption into His family, & that happens only after our own humbling before Him & repentance, being drawn to God by His Spirit & then receiving His Spirit into our lives. Israel had every opportunity to truly be God's children & servants, but they never bore His Light to the world, rather lived in spiritual darkness. 2 Timothy 2:19: "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his." God know those who are His - His Seal is upon them, they are the elect. Our knowledge of our election is when the Holy Spirit does His Work in our hearts, confirming His Work of Grace & giving us the assurance of eternal life.
