Hi Donna. GiGi has shared very well here, covering my similar thoughts. Though I wasn't sure whether your concern was about 'divisive thoughts' on this Site or you were referring generally to the Church, or maybe both.

I don't believe our differences in understanding the many biblical themes, manner of conducting Church meetings, or engaging in vigorous discussions about Bible teaching & doctrines, come as a surprise to our Heavenly Father. If the apostolic Church had problems & differences of opinion that needed highlighting & correction, one can be assured that the Church two thousand years later will have those same issues, only exacerbated.

What concerns the Father's Heart is whether we have been regenerated by His Spirit, living holy lives, sensitive to His Spirit, doing the Will of God. Those with such lives can only be passionate about the One Who gave His all for us, dealing with sin's fiery darts as they seek to cause disruption to that holy relationship. And I believe that such people can be found in all denominations, & where there is falsehood entertained, the Spirit of God will teach the true believer of the error & to withdraw from them. Many do leave such places having been convicted - many do search the Word for themselves to learn the Truth - many do find true liberty in Christ when they were once in bondage to ungodly teaching/practises. The Spirit's Work in His children cannot be bound - His Work is perfect. The Body is still visible & alive - it's just spread over the many groups as individuals meet all over the world. One day, we'll all come together in Truth, joy & our common hope.

I realize that the world might see the Church's divisions more than they see those who have been truly changed inwardly. But as the Church (i.e. each member of the Body) lives out their lives in the world, the world must also see the difference that Christ can make as no religion can. We are His witnesses & His light, & to shine that Light to all.

Thank you Cecil. Just to clarify what I think you're saying, is that "when Israel is taken", you're inferring that Israel is to be defeated according to Ezekiel chapter 38. Without even considering the Trumpet judgements, I don't share that view that Israel will be defeated. In fact, I see that Gog & those who ally with him are the ones brought to nought & suffer badly; because this chapter speaks against him & not against Israel. But then again, I might have misunderstood you.

As far as associating our various nations today with Babylon, the beast, kings of the North/South, Jacob & Esau, I'll leave it up to you & those who are more studied & convinced of such associations. I enjoy prophecy & the mystery that comes with it, but am also careful how I decipher prophetical narratives for today & therefore might be advising others incorrectly. Not saying that your studies & conclusions are incorrect since I have no alternatives with good reasons for them to give you, it's just that I approach prophecy, indeed the whole Word, with caution & in fear.

Does the Bible teach their will be a second Exodus before the rapture where the Lord will gather the seed of the. Hebrew Israelites from the four corners of the earth and hide them in the wilderness for a time while the antichrist rules?
  • Richard D. Fairhurst - 3 years ago
I agree that Genesis 15:13-14 was fulfilled when Israel left Eygpt in Exodus 12:36, but I believe that verse 16 was not fulfilled until Judges 1:20 when Hebron was taken. In order for the 4th generation to "come back here" they had to reach Hebron where Abraham heard these words ( Genesis 14:13). Because the Amorites had just fought as Abraham's allies God would not judge them until the 4th generation after the Exodus was ready to fight them. If any 1st generation freed Israelite man that perished in the wilderness begat a son that turned 20 and begat his grandson shortly after the army census in Numbers 1:20 in turn begat his great grandson prior to the 30th year in the wilderness than a great grandson of the 1st Exodus generation fighters would have reached fighting age when Hebron was taken. Abraham was being comforted that he would die in peace and not have to witness the judgment of his allies. God delay judgment of their sins by Abraham's descendants to recognize their part in the victory Abraham had just won for his nephew Lot.

This interpretation also shows that the wilderness wandering was actually a mercy to Abraham that allowed God time to raise an army that was far more worthy of victory over Abraham's allies descendants only after God allowed the full measure of their sins to show that their descendants judgement was just. That 1st generation unbelieving army of Exodus slaves that tested God 10 times and shrank back from fighting was unworthy in God's sight of judging the sins of Abraham's Amorite allies descendants and would have been unworthy of victory over them in Abraham's sight as well.

Every scripture you posted pertains to the day of the Lord battle, 6th trumpet, not post 7th trumpet, Christ's reign. You logic is flawed, your foundation is unsound. Put each event on a time line, and you'll see you're conflating the 6th and 7th trumpets. Ezekiel 39 is about Christ's 1,000 year reign.

    Hello Donna,

While I think is it fine to have differences of viewpoints on spiritual matters and it is fine for us to discuss these things respectfully (as this is not arguing or divisive). But it is another thing for someone to come here with a penchant for stirring up contention.

Some people are more sensitive to differences of viewpoints being expressed than others. I understand that. I have often wondered why God allowed the church to divide into so many denominations since the times of the Reformation. Luther did not want to divide the church; he wanted it to be reformed (as did Calvin and Zwingli and Huss). There was a lot of persecution and killing of Protestants by the Roman Catholic Church. Some say more were killed by the Roman Catholic C

Church than in all of the persecutions in the early centuries by pagan Rome.

Then Protestants (in a much smaller scale) persecuted and killed each other, too. So, that is very sad to me. Over the past 600 years the body of Christ has split and divided continually. Within Denominations there are splits into different wcts of the same denomination. I wish that our history was different. I wish that the church could have been reformed, purged, purified and remained in unity. I trust that God is at work in all of this and He will bring it to a good end.

This forum happens to include people from many different denominational and theological backgrounds, so the comments will not be all of one accord. We should understand that and accept this. We can learn from each other, perhaps better in this way than if we all were from the same denomination and the same theological viewpoint. We can be very isolated in our own little corner by this, unaware or the wide variety of thought on theological topics. on here, we get exposure to more and I think it is good and helpful.

I hope that you are growing, too. Thank you for sharing your feelings about this. It helps us to be more sensitive to one another.

    End-Times Watch:

A Russian professor told a news outlet that the new torpedo bomb, "Poseidon", can create a 1,600 foot high tsunami, and wipe out all life nearly 1,000 miles inland with a purported 200 megaton nuclear warhead ( Revelation 9:16).

    Anybody catch that?

I understand. I have lots of time now to read posts all the way through. Not all people have such time. No problem.

But I have read what I mentioned multiple times over the past few months. I saddens me to read these words because, in zealouness to defend salvation by faith without works, these posters do not explain the purpose of the law for believers and the blessings of obeying God in His commands and the lead of the Spirit. This gives readers the impression that the law is done away with now, when Jesus said that it will never go away. It is just that believers have a different relationship with the law than non-believers.

We are now free to obey God by His Spirit instead of under the yoke of the law that only brings a curse and condemnation for not obeying it completely. We are no longer a slave to this yoke, but are freed from the slavery that the law brings upon all men due to their inability to fulfill all of it. There is a lot more to be said on this topic. But for, Me I prefer to speak in a balanced way about the law and grace.

    Hello Raymond.

If you are asking: What was the sin in the Garden of Eden? then this may help. Before Adam and Eve sinned, they did not even know what sin was nor what it was like to be tempted. They did not know there was even a tempter who was opposed to God and a deceiver. They were ignorant of all of these things. They only knew God and His goodness to them. They lived in a state of innocence concerning sin, suffering curse. They walked and talked with God daily.

At some point, God gave them a commandment. In His great wisdom, He deemed this necessary in order for His pent-ultimate purpose for creation to be accomplished, which is salvation. The commandment was to not eat of one particular tree that was easily accessed in the Garden as were all of the other trees. the tree of Life was there also, within reach. How long Adam and Eve went ignoring the tree of good and evil we do not know. At some point, the tempter appeared and spoke with Eve about the fruit of the tree of the knowledge good and evil. He combined the truth with error to deceive Eve into eating the fruit and Adam also ate of it. They believed the words of the tempter instead of words of God and thus disobeyed God's command. they thought they would become like God by eating the fruit. They knew that God was far greater than they themselves were. Why would they not want to be more like Him? They thought they would be improved by eating the fruit. They thought that disobeying God was just a small thing in light of the improvement the tempter promised. They thought that surely this tempter must have been sent from God as they did not know that He had created any being that became evil yet. All these things could have been what they thought.

So, what was their sin? Technically, it was breaking the commandment that God had given them. They ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good an evil. They used their free will to go against what God had commanded. They doubted His word, also.

  • GiGi - In Reply - 3 years ago
Grae, you are right in that the depth of our own sinfulness we cannot really know. For me, I totally agree that we can never earn our way to being right with God.

So then, why should we keep His laws? Because it is in keeping the 10 commandments and all that God instructs us to do that allows us to give love to God an others. Obeying the commandments benefits others and ourselves, however, God is not benefited by our obedience, as He is in need of nothing from his creation, being self-sufficient and totally satisfied within Himself. But God gave us His laws to obey so that we can receive the blessings that come from obedience that He gives freely.

Obeying what God has commanded helps us to grow in love for Him and others. It helps others when we treat them as God instructs us to treat them. This is why it is important to want to follow God's commandments even though we are under grace. God knows what is best for us, and His commands are surely best for anyone to follow.

I am thankful that I was taught how God saved me from a very young age, and I am also glad that I was taught to obey the commandments from a very young age. Knowing both helped my grow in grace and in knowledge of Jesus Christ. Both salvation by grace through faith and the blessing of obedience to God's law shaped my character both spiritually and physically. Both helped me to love God and love to do what is right. I was not very rebellious growing up. I did not want to be a commandment breaker, not because I thought God would punish me, but because I knew He loved me, so to love Him back I delighted in obeying His commands. Did I sin, yes; often, yes. But I knew I had forgiveness when I failed to obey and the Spirit to help me live God's way. I was blessed with my early exposure to these things. But more so, I was blessed with faith from a very young age (I cannot remember a time when i did not believe in Jesus). Having a right relationship with the Lord all of my life has been my best blessing

    Brother SolaScrip,

Those 2 verses from ( Matthew 24:29-30) are not the same. The 2 verses are separated by 42 months.

Immediately after the tribulation starts the great tribulation, lasting 42 months. The saints are sealed prior to the great tribulation, and 42 months later, resurrected into Jesus Messiah's army.

(vs 29) depicts the 6th trumpet, day of the Lord, 2nd woe.

(vs 30) depicts the 7th trumpet, day of the Lord's vengeance, 3rd woe.

To make a fair assessment of prophesy, you have to gather context. The astounding thing here is you swear up and down you are are correct, and I'm here to tell you again, your testimony is inaccurate. It is easy to verify between the 2 verses because there is an abundance of parallel instances. The 6th trumpet is the 7th trumpet, is what your saying. Think it over, study it, and let me know what you find.

    Brother Spencer,

If indeed, we have salvation - we have been "Born Again". God promised us that "His New Covenant" will put His laws into our hearts and minds. (These laws are God's Commandments) nothing new! If we are saved we will have His Holy Spirit and we will be embracing and following God's wishes and Commands, and naturally his 10 Commandments.

You said you hold the view that the keeping of the law is not required for salvation. I'm saying we will be following the law closely, and trying our absolute best to adhere to God's Law's if we are in fact truly Born Again and saved. If not, we are probably not saved!

Jesus tells us here what he expects from us:

    Luke 6:46-47

"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Jesus is telling us to come to him, hear his sayings, and DO his sayings. These are His Requirements!

If we are not "doing His Requirements" we are not saved, and we are only fooling ourselves and others.

    John 14:15

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

    God Bless.

    Hi Raymond.

I have grown by the examples of others on this site.

    I'm a work in progress!

It's heart breaking to see the things that has crept into the Church.

I believe all false doctrine is inspired by Satan himself, So I try to look past the person and deal with the doctrine they're presenting.

    I believe that is when

    Ephesians 6:10-18. is applied.

I sometimes want to know a persons take on salvation. Perhaps I can get an Idea of who's inspiring them.

But we have to be careful not to entertain it further than need be.

    God bless.

    Thanks and God bless.

    Hi SolaScrip.

Thanks for that. I don't think we are going to agree on this.

    Your quote:

"When we take His Spirit into us, that is the same event as us receiving a new heart - spoken of in Ezekiel 36:26-27. Look closely at those verses. "I will ... CAUSE you to walk in My statutes, and ye SHALL keep My judgments, and do them."

These verses is for the children of Israel and want be accomplished until the Millennium!

    Here's what you left out.

Ezekiel 36:22-25. Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

    Continued verses.

Ezekiel 36:26-27. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

But if you want to use it for the Church it serves my view well.

""AND I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT WITHIN YOU, AND CAUSE YOU TO WALK IN MY STATUTES, AND YE SHALL KEEP MY JUDGMENTS, AND DO THEM.""

That is a perfect picture of the work of the Holyspirit which we receive once saved.

    Thanks and God bless.

    Hi again Brother Dan.

Philippians 2:12. This verse speaks of ongoing obedience for those already saved. It's crucial to note that Paul is not telling them to work for their salvation. This statement implies a need to live out-to practice, demonstrate, and exhibit-the salvation which believers have in Christ.

The Greek word for "work out" is katergazomai and it can mean "to perform, it is a present tense command. so if you take that and verse 13, You are to "present that which is being worked in you."

Here's how it reads, It's one sentence. And verse 13 is very important!

"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Vs 13)- FOR IT IS GOD WHICH WORKETH IN YOU BOTH TO WILL AND TO DO OF HIS GOOD PLEASURE."

You have to have salvation IN you to work it OUT you.

Anytime we add anything to the finish work on the cross we fall from Grace!

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

    Galatians 5:4.

You and I agree on some things but where we are divided is one word.

"Requirement" I hold the view that the keeping of the law is not required for salvation. It's the Spirit in us that urges us to put forward the effort of obedience.

With the mindset that one would have to keep the law for salvation contradicts the sabbath rest they're trying to keep when we examine what that rest is.

    God bless.

    Revelation

When you first read Revelation, it may seem mixed-up, and hard to understand. We must understand it is not a chronological record of events from start to finish or it will be impossible to grasp. It's not linear, it's broken up with visions nested within visions and there are different accounts of the same events.

Like in these chapters, chapter 6, chapter 11, and chapter 16, in these chapters they are describing the same events that occur immediately after the Tribulation. These correspond with Matthew 24:29 and Ezekiel 38:18-32, this is after the tribulation, which starts when Satan is cast out of heaven and down to earth Revelation 12 and gives his power, seat, and authority to the beast that arises out of the bottomless pit.

This is just a small example, but may it help in the study of Revelation and there are not seven years but three and one-half years. Many are looking for an antichrist but there are four, Satan, the beast that arises out of the bottomless pit, the false prophet, and the harlot city Babylon. All will play a part in the times coming. After the battle of Armageddon, the kingdom will be set up with the camp of the saints in the beloved city, and Jesus will be there.

    God bless,

I see so much division in the church body. I don't understand that. People are divided over everything, every little thing. Who then can make it?

If we can't get along here and be unified, how will we spend eternity together?

That is why I pray to love my brother AND my enemy. (We are commanded to love our enemies too.) Is the love word used in both of these commands the same root word?

What are the things scripturally that we should be divided over? Besides the obvious stuff. Is it every little thing?

I just feel such a deep despair over this right now and it's grieving my spirit. Why are we so divided? Does this grieve the heart of God?

Are there scriptures about this? Why do we have so many different denominations? Does that grieve the heart of God?
