Thanks for such a good post. I completely agree with you. We were referring to different situations. We are called to be loving in every situation. I also concur that voicing differing viewpoints or correcting errors on this site is what we should be doing and I for one never do so as if I am yelling at anyone, and I have not felt that others were yelling either. It is just so hard in writing to get your tone of voice, attitude of heart, and loving feelings (all of these being affects) into words written even though we make the best effort. Not knowing those who read posts on this forum, we just cannot assume negative things about people who post things we may not agree with or like. And the poster cannot assume that other readers will understand the affects behind the words of the poster. That is why we are to look to the best interest of others and to think the best of others on here and in other interactions. These are part of loving one another. It is always easier to accept encouraging words than words we do not agree with or counter our view. But these do cause us to re-examine our thinking according to the Word of God and prayer for God to correct or affirm our viewpoint. And in discussing Christian topics, there are "majors" and "minors" , some being more essential to Christian belief than others. We pray for the wisdom to tell the difference.
S. spencer, I so appreciate you and your contribution on this forum. being rather new here I do not know a lot of the "history" of this forum. So. those who have been here longer are a big help to me. We speak the truth in love on here as best we can. I have read on a few other supposedly Christian forums and this was not the case. So, I appreciate what happens here. It is edifying.
Have a wonderful day. Here in the Northwest it is trying to be sunny, but at least it is dry and will be for the rest of the week. I do pray that everyone that went through that huge storm weathered it well.
Hebrews 6:4For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Thanks for clarifying this about the two Enochs. We do also need to remember that only Noah and his family (from the line of Seth) survived the flood. So, Cain's descendants were wiped out (unless any of Noah's sons or his wife were Cainites. We just do not know)
There are people who still believe that there are descendants of Cain throughout history. I do not believe this. God knew what He was doing in the flood. And after the flood, the line of Seth through Noah became corrupted by idolatry not many generations from Noah. Some mistake the Canaanites with descendants of Cain (Cainites) but this is also erroneous. It is sometimes difficult to differentiate between names and persons in the OT because of so many similarities and also persons with the same name in different generations. Carefully reading, taking notes, referring to family trees, etc. on line can help.
2nd Corinthians 5:8 says "... to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord", pretty much sums it up. Jesus was showing that He was God, forgiving sins & showing mercy, from the agony of the cross.
"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
1 John 2:27
"But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him."
King James Version (KJV)
Well spoken IF the question was How do you respond in love if you feel you are mistreated.
But when asked "How do you give gods love too people?" Gods love can only be given by the Spirit, and how a person receives it may depend on whether that person is a believer or not. We are to be ambassadors for Christ and the world didn't receive him well. Not even his own.
After praying the spirit may move you to rebuke a heresy which we ALL do.
But if the recipient is a believer he/she will respond differently than nonbelievers.
Paul rebuked Peter, But I'm sure it was with scripture and in love. It's hard to express this love on a site and not compromise truth. When one is rebuked using scriptures we must examine the scriptures and not imagine being yelled at.
Gods love, holiness, and truth. isn't always pleasant to the recipient. Jesus never ceased from loving. Jesus never ceased from truth. And the truth got him on the Cross. John 8:40. But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
That same Spirit of truth should be in a believer expressed in Love.
God bless.
That would be for people living under the laws of Moses, not the testimony of Jesus, regardless of the answer.
This is the first time that I have use the service and I am very pleased, and I will use it more and more in the future.

I have had some many instances of where there is that little voice that says, "Don't go there." or "Call so and so." or "pray for so and so" or "Take a different route'" when driving. The Holy Spirit truly does help us in this way.
The word of wisdom seems to me to be a "speaking gift" where someone speaks to another person with godly wisdom concerning a matter and the word of knowledge would be receiving from the Holy Spirit a warning or directive for action. These can mean other things, too. I am studying up on these since asking the question and have found many sites that speak well concerning this topic.
I appreciate your contribution to our conversation.
I was thinking of you last night and wanted to find your last post to reply to you to see how you are doing. So good how the Lord works, right? I am to hear you are doing good. I am praying for your heart miracle. God bless you today.
There are many on this forum who speak evil against the Catholic Church. While I am not a Catholic, I do know that, though it has many faults and is imperfect, it was the keeper of the faith for many centuries until the Great Schism and later the Reformation. Like most denominations, there are very good things in the Catholic Church and some things that should be rejected and spoken against. But speaking against what is wrong and speaking against the denomination as a whole are two different things. We should be careful about what we say about those who claim Christ as their Savior as the Catholic Church does and has defended the faith for for far longer than any other denomination. Instead we should pray for Catholics and its leaders to be cleansed of false teachings and add-ons to the gospel, as we should pray for the reform of other denominations of which one knows of teaching that does not align with Scripture. We are to love the brethren and appreciate the contribution of each denomination. I remember back in the 70's that the Catholic church was at the forefront of the Pro-life movement and has remained steadfast in its opposition of the slaughter of these innocent babes. The Catholic Church has some of the longest running charity organizations in America. And they also have one of the longest running private education system. So, we should be respecting these actions that they have been at the forefront of for so many years.
I agree that there are errors in Catholic teaching and when we interact with Catholics, we should hold up the pure gospel of Christ again and again to remind them that it is Jesus who is the focus of our love and devotion and the source for all of our needs and answers for our prayers. Not every Catholic adheres to all of the errors in the church's teachings. So it is important not to lump them all together as being "outside of Christ" anymore that we should lump members of other denominations in the same way.
Most people can remember a while back the slogan, "What Would Jesus Do?" or WWJD. This was catchy and popular but a bumper sticker of this does not witness well if you cut someone off on the freeway or exceed the speed limit. So, I think it is a good idea to keep this slogan in mind when we encounter others. We should make a practice of pausing a moment and asking oneself this question. Wait for the Spirit to remind you of what our Lord would do in a situation. And then, do it.
For me, especially when someone mistreats me or speaks harshly to me, etc. I take a moment and pray, Lord teach me to love this person. Tell me what the loving thing to do or say is in this moment (or the next time I see this person). If I have regular contact with this person, I pray for him/her and ask God to increases His love in me for this person. In a prayer I resolve to treat such a person with loving words and actions despite how they treat me. I have learned to hold my tongue and not respond back angrily or judgmentally. I continue to try to return respect and for mistreatment.
It is hard to resist the temptation to retaliate or return in kind. But, I think God uses such situations to teach us to act in loving ways in interacting with people who are difficult to be with. Certainly if someone is abusive to me, I will state that their treatment of me is unacceptable and walk away or determine to cease private interactions with someone like this. If a person presents a danger to me, I get away from such a person as safely as I can. But, most of us do not have such a situation.
In learning to love a person who is difficult, we can remember that love covers a multitude of sins. So, it is important to remember that a big part of loving others is being forgiving towards them. Unforgiveness in us hinders love for the unforgiven person. Also, having an attitude to bless others despite the way they treat us is a way for us to grow in love.

7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Paul reiterates the gospel to them: 4Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
Most don't recognize as Paul was traveling on his mission and preaching and establishing new churches satan was right on his heels sowing discord and lies, I believe this was the thorn in the flesh Paul prayed about 3 times and God answered him. my grace is sufficient, that's just my opinion tho.
1 Corinthians 15:52
"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
King James Version (KJV) this is the verse that came to my mind maybe Jesus was I also found this verse
Revelation 12:5
"And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne."
King James Version (KJV) You have some studying to do on this question
