I don't believe that is quite correct. Angels were created before man. I'm Job 38, God is talking to Job about the plans that He has but Job does not know about. In verses 4-7 God says some awesome things that gives us context that angels were made before humans in the beginning of creation. " Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. Who determined its dimensions and stretched out the surveying line? What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone as the morning stars sang together and all the angels (sons of God) shouted for joy?" NLT if the angels were present to witness the laying of the foundations of the earth, that has to mean they were present before humans.

Amen. I think it's a great idea to keep our Governing nation in prayer, and pray they let God govern their hearts!

When Israel did right by the Lord he gave them rest and the spirit of the lord rested on the leaders! Numbers 11:25-29.

As a nation we've put together great writings on paper and we Identfied ourselves by these writings but we never accomplished what we have in writing. Sort of reminds you of Israel doesn't it? Actually Israel didn't just have the law written on skin, they had the Lord in their midst. But his laws wasn't written on there hearts! And this is the only geographical nation/Country that has been set apart by the Lord.

That ought to humble every other nation! God has raised up nations in the past to do his will and then judge that nation!

    Habakkuk 1:5-6.

    Jeremiah 25:11-12.

God used Assyria and Babylon to chastise Israel and turn the rod on them.

God raises up great kings to do his will!

    Isaiah 45:1.

    Ezekiel 29:18-20.

Pride goeth before destruction and an haulty spirit before a fall.

All these nations fell! Now Let's look at Israel. Ezekiel 16:48-50. Notice verses 49 and 50? You noticed God called sodom Israels sister! When God brought Israel out of Egypt God called them his son. He was a father and a husband to them. But they turned from God so at this point he's telling them they have the same father as Sodom, and we know who that is!

"He's not governing there heart" but there will come a time he will. Jeremiah 31:31-34. Noticed verse 33? He will put his law in their inward parts!

Looking at Israel and the way the Lord raised up nations and later judged them should humble us!

There will come a time when his nation will be taken out of the world and he will deal with all the worlds nations.

    Joel 3:2.

So let's pray the lost people of ALL nations humble themselves and get on a tract they have NEVER been on.

    God bless and goodnight.

    Hi Sandra.

    I misread your question originally,

That is a great question!! Here's a few verses out those mentioned I believe to be shown the toughest.

    1 Peter 5:2-3, 5-6.

    V2 ) Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

V 3 ) Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

Vs 5)Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

V 6) Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

    HUMILITY AND MEEKNESS.

A lesson the Lord taught Peter in

    John 13:4-8.

How do you expresses this and be truthful when someone is taken in a fault?

Example: Galatians 6:1-3. Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual,

RESTORE SUCH AN ONE IN THE SPIRIT OF MEEKNESS; "CONSIDERING THYSELF", lest thou also be tempted.

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

Here's several issues come to mind in the verses you mentioned.

1). Humility: In ethics, freedom from pride and arrogance humbleness of mind a modest estimate of one's own worth. In theology, humility consists in lowliness of mind a deep sense of one's own unworthiness in the sight of God, self-abasement, penitence for sin, and submission to the divine will.

A prideful person wants praise and God's glory for himself. How do you restore that person in meekness without backlash? By not telling them the truth or just ignore them even if they're leading people Astray?

We all have had faults and still do, but we must be truthful and meekness in our approach while considering ourselves.

I believe this is where we worship in spirit and in truth. John 4:24.

    God bless.

Yes, I concur with you. I was not trying to be contrived and I my meaning was to pray for all nations. Individuals can pray for their own nation as Paul instructed us to pray for those who govern us. Or, as led, we can pray for one's own nation and others.

Of course we pray for the church in every circumstances and for a revival of the hearts of many to come to faith and salvation in Christ.

I do understand that this site is global, so I was

Not singling out any one nation. Some people may be nudged by the Spirit to participate tomorrow and that is good. But we should be prayerful daily for the matters that the Spirit puta on one's heart. I try to go to the prayer request section to prayer for the requests of those who took time to post their prayer needs and let the poster know that someone has prayed for their requests. I encourage others to do so, too.

I suggested the times tomorrow as a loose guide, not as an imposition.

So, thinking the best of each other you and I can serve in prayer as the Spirit leads us to do. For me, it is helpful to choose a specific day to address ongoing prayer needs. And of course I pray daily. But burns God who Answers with His will, power, and wisdom.

I put my trust in Him and not into any formulation.
  • S Spencer - In Reply - 3 years ago
    Hi GiGi.

I believe this site is global so why not we pray for ALL the people of ALL the nations of the world! And do it ALL the time.

And let's not limit ourselves when, where are how we pray, Let's pray in truth and in spirit. A quite silent prayer in secret from the heart is as worthy as one "staged" out in the open.

And let's no leave out God's Nation.

THE CHURCH!! 1 Peter 2:9. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,

( AN HOLY NATION,) a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Again let's pray for the people of all Nations that they repent and come to the Lord!

God will someday be taking "A People" out of the World. before tribulation comes on those who "Dwell" on Earth.

    God bless.

What do you find the most difficult to practice?
  • Gigi - 3 years ago
    Hello fellow readers

A week or so ago I posted in a discussion about praying for our nation. I suggested selecting a day to do this monthly. I suggested the first of the month.

So tomorrow is the first and anyone can choose to join others this day to pray for their own nation or another

    nation or people group.

    I had suggested 6:00 a.m.

12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. as times to pray, but people can certainly pray anytime, any day for nations of our world. I am not suggesting people pray all three times. I just wanted to accommodate various schedules.

So, feel welcome to pray with me and others tomorrow,

If people want to enter prayer requests specific for their nation I encourage that they use the prayer request section of this site to post these.

Thanks and may God be mighty in our nations in February!

    Hello S. Spencer

I just finished a well notated biography of Paul by F. F. Bruce

"Paul, Apostle of the Heart Set Free."

He said that there churches in Rome were well established in the area of Rome before Pail made contact with them and that they comprised of many Jews as well as Gentiles.

I Agree that Peter most likely did not go to Rome prior to Paul to plant churches there, but we do not really know, as there were many Jews in Rome at this time.

It is historically reported that Peter spent time in Rome after Paul was be headed and was martyred in Rome as well.

So, as far as I know, neither Paul not Peter started the churches in Rome. It is believed that many Christians relocated to Rome before Paul's contact and started various church fellowships that were thriving by the time Paul begins his work to the Romans.

Prior to Paul's ministry to the Romans, Jews were expelled from Rome for a time on account of problems between Jew against the Jewish Christians. After a time the order was rescinded and Jews came back to Rome. Priscilla and Aquila were from Rome but left during the expulsion whereupon they met Psul in Corinth. They moved back to Rome during Paul's imprisonment and served the fellowships on the area.

I think it is wise to refrain from drawing a strict and straight line between the ministries of Peter being an apostle only to the Jews and Paul being one only to the Gentiles. Acts has examples of both Peter and Paul witnessing to both Jews and Gentiles.

There were more Jews residing outside of Israel at this time than within the borders of Israel, having communities all over Asia Minor, Northern Africa, and around the Mediterranean. Also, remember that the Jews were of the tribe of Judah, but members of then other 11 Israelite tribes were also dispersed in these same areas. The Jews were not very brotherly to these Israelites.

We do not know who originally evangelized the areas around Rome but it seems most likely converts did.

Some older editions of the Authorized Version use "our's" rather than "ours" (cf 1 John 2:2) "And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world (the Old Scofield, the Allen 1952 text used in their Longprimer, etc.).

Was this common usage in Elizabethan English during the 1500's and 1600's? Do you know when it was revised? I didn't realize the original Authorized Version had ever undergone revisions.

    Thank you

    Hi

    S. Spencer is correct.

Beersheba is in South Istael on the border of the Negev wilderness /desert. This was the southernmost pastureland of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob although the Hebron ( in the highlands overlooking the Jordan River south of Jerusalem) was the preferred residence of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But they spent time going from pastureland to pastureland for their flocks. Luz/Bethel was in the highlands north of Jerusalem.

    Hi Jullyenoch.

I don't think so, Jacob went out from Beersheba on his way to Luz/Beth-el.

Genesis 28:10-11. And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went toward Haran.

And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.

Genesis 28:19. And he called the name of that place Beth-el: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.

    Genesis 35:1-3.

    Genesis 35:6-7.

    BEERSHEBA.

Beersheba was founded when Abraham and Abimelech settled their differences over a well of water and made a covenant (see Genesis 21:22-34).

    God bless.

    Hi Wanita.

The epistle was written during Paul's third missionary journey, at Corinth where he spent three months. He had just come from Ephesus where he had spent three strenuous years.

Dr. Griffith Thomas makes an interesting observation: "Certain names point clearly to Corinth as the place whence this Epistle was written." The picture of the gross immorality of the Gentiles in Rome is a picture drawn from the Corinth of Paul's day.

OCCASION: This letter was brought forth by natural reason. Paul wished to visit Rome on his way to Spain. The letter was taken by Phoebe, deaconess of Cenchrea ( Romans 16:1).

FOUNDER OF THE CHURCH AT ROME: Paul had not visited Rome when he wrote this epistle. In this respect it is different from all others, with the possible exception of the Epistle to the Colossians. No apostle had preceded Paul to Rome; obviously, Simon Peter had not. The Roman church was largely a gentile church, and Peter was not the apostle to the Gentiles ( Galatians 2:7). Paul's method was not to follow another apostle, and it is not likely he would have gone to Rome had another apostle preceded him.

Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation. ( Romans 15:20)

In a very definite sense, Paul was the founder of the church at Rome. This great metropolis drew men to its streets and marketplaces from all over the empire as if it were a magnet. Many whom Paul had led to Christ in other places made their way to Rome and witnessed there. The church in Rome was the assembly of these folk. This is not mere speculation, as Priscilla and Aquila are examples.

Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my helpers in Christ Jesus. ( Romans 16:3)

Paul had first met them in Corinth and led them to Christ ( Acts 18:1-3). Later they returned to Rome.

Paul mentions 35 individuals by name in chapter 16. Of these, 27 were living in Rome at this time. These he must have met elsewhere in the.

    Hello Wanita

As every church is, the church in Rome was founded on Jesus.

At the time of Acts and Paul's house arrest in Rome, Rome did not have one big central church fellowship. Rather there were many small church fellowships scattered throughout the region.

It is unknown who evangelized thes people, but some source I read say that most likely the churches were established by believers who came there from other regions. Priscilla and Aquila were coming Rome before meeting Paul in Asia Minor. They

May have led Rome when the Emperor ejected all Jews for a time. This couple returned to Rome during the time Paul was there.

Paul was beheaded in Rome according to historical accounts. Peter is said to have come to Rome either while Paul was there or shortly after Paul's martyrdom. He remained there until he was martyred by being crucified upside down. At that time, a bishop was appointed in Rome as was the practice throughout the region. For example, Polycarp was bishop of Smyrna, and Ignatious was bishop of Antioch, both appointed by the apostle John. These bishops represented both their appointed church and the surrounding churches in the region.

So, we do not have an account in Scripture as to how the churches in Rome were founded.

Historical tradition indicates that the believers in the area of Rome claimed both Peter and Paul establishing the churches in the area of Rome.

  • Philip Christian Parks on Revelation 19:20 - 3 years ago
Rev. 19:13 = This blood is not CHRIST's own that HE shed during HIS crucifixion. No, this blood is the blood of CHRIST's enemies that HE will draw during Armageddon. Verse fifteen speaks of CHRIST treading the winepress (see also 14:20). Deuteronomy 32:14 describes the juice of the grape as blood. Interpret the graphic language to mean CHRIST will violently attack HIS enemies with such force that HE will splatter their blood on HIS vesture with such abundance that it will become soaked and dripping.

All soldiers experienced in combat, and all who study war, know that soldiers often bloody themselves with the blood of those they kill. When JESUS CHRIST engages in the Battle of Armageddon, HE intends to save no one, nor take prisoners, for HE battles to slaughter the armies of the Antichrist without mercy. Even Revelation 19:21 describes CHRIST ensuring HE kills every last one of the Antichrist's rebellious armies: "the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which [sword] proceeded out of his mouth ..." The blood drenching HIS vesture is that of HIS enemies.

Isaiah 63:1-4 describes JESUS CHRIST fighting Armageddon. Isaiah recorded that prophecy in the prophetic perfect tense. In verse one, Isaiah asks, "WHO is THIS that comes from Edom, with dyed {bloodied} garments from Bozrah?" The mentioning of Edom and Bozrah suggests Armageddon is a series of battles culminating in Armageddon. The PERSON in question is The MESSIAH/CHRIST.

In verse two, Isaiah asked another important question: "Wherefore art THOU red in THINE apparel, and THY garments (including HIS vesture) like him that treadeth in the winefat?" This question accepts the fact that when one stomps grapes in the wine press, he traumatically expels the "blood of the grape" (Deu. 32:14) resulting in splattering the wine presser's clothing with grape juice. This metaphor proves that the blood drenching CHRIST's vesture is not HIS Own, but that of HIS enemies.
