Where is the verse that speaks of mans allotted time?
  • Sean veasley - In Reply on Matthew 18 - 3 years ago
    What do you mean?

If you are speaking of the names we come up with on a individual bases. We hold dear to the incident that happen to us and tend to attach it to the name of God.

Example: Something told me not to go that way. Next thing you know it's an horrible accident or incident where you were heading. Now you are thanking God to the upmost.

Your now telling people your miracle and you say"Something" told me not to go that way. That something was God, now you have given God a new name or increased his name count without referencing Gods name. People assume when your telling your miracle you meant God when you say "something"told me not to go down there you meant God.

    Hope i answered your question

Yes it does apply, death in this case means our soul. We must still abide by Gods law.The more we do immortal acts the further we get away from GODs grace and mercy. One day we wake up and we don't know ourselves or how we got in the position we are in. It was a simple act of just a curse word lust, or in this case homosexual act.

Hello Utibe. The one who has been truly saved & has God's Spirit in them, can never be lost back into Satan's domain. These people will remain faithful to their Lord, suffering all things for His sake, & hating even the smell of sin entering their lives. There are many 'Christians' who faithfully attend a Fellowship, witness to others & give every appearance of being saved, but when adversity comes or even when committing sin isn't all that important, they fall away, turning their backs to the One they once called their Saviour. The Lord knows who belongs to Him; 2 Timothy 2:19, "the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity."

Here are some Scriptures showing God's Part in saving & securing those who have truly repented & turned from a life of sin - being born again of His Spirit:

    John 10:27-29; Ephesians 1:13,14; Ephesians 4:30; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 1 John 5:13; Romans 8:33-39.

But there is also the other side, where some Scriptures seem to indicate that a Christian can apostatize, such as:

    1 Timothy 4:1; 2 Thessalonians 2:3; 2 Peter 2:20-22; Hebrews 3:12.

But the ultimate test of real faith is when our love, even our lives hang in the balance. Will we deny Christ - will we save our lives rather than lose it for Jesus? Many 'Christians' would under examination want to save themselves, yes, even those who attend a Fellowship & follow through with Christian disciplines. We should not have to hear those words in Matthew 7:21-23, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Hello all Dear Siblings in the Lord. Today I thought about the differences between those who feel that they MUST be baptized in water, and those who do not know it that way.

This may be part of the explanation.

I have said before that the Lord Jesus has been with me all my days. And I can feel it. As a 12 year old, I said YES to Jesus. Christ I did not know who was until many years had passed. Not grace either.

For I had no Shepherds or Teachers who could lead me on the path with our God. The Holy Spirit wanted me to go another way. Or the devil was there and wanted to hurt, kill me. I have actually been near death Many times after the age of 12 years.

So in a way, I lived unaware of the life I could have in God all these years.

So when I finally go to that step and bend in the dust before the Lord Jesus. Then it became light in me! But unclean as I had lived. In thoughts in words in deeds. I thought of a so-called emotional proof, if I may call it that.

That's why I needed my person this! That call on me. Wash me, cleaned my exterior in a way. And I'm so happy about that. For what ordeal it was and go in that water baptism. : DD That night I heard in my Spirit that the Lord and His hosts were fighting for my life. There was thunder and crashes. Lightning and a terrible storm. Now we are not all equally sensitive, but this is my experience. That happends also when i was 12 years old. But i know in my heart that i could not fight against this. Now I can and will spend the rest of my days. Fight for the human spirit, soul and body. In prayer to God and our Lord Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of the Holy Spirit. And it must always be in Spirit and Truth.

And to all of you who are not baptized in water. I'm not judging you. For you may have had a completely different life. But then it also says that it can be read so that we all must be baptized in water, not just in the Holy Spirit. Amen

Wish you all the best with Acts Chapter 9:20-43

Dear :Nnamdi-Igwebike :Maduka. on Matthew 4:7 Can u please explaine? Unfortunately, I read this completely differently and would very much like to hear your opinion. Have a blessed day with the words of

Acts 9.36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.

38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.

    In Jesus Christ Holy Name.

Hello Baissa. This particular chapter in Leviticus, as with other chapters dealing with God's Laws & how they were to be implemented, were given to Israel so that were to be a holy people unto the Lord & separate from the heathen around them who were given to all manner of sins ( Leviticus 20:23). The strictness of these Laws showed to Israel, & to us, how holy God is, how our behaviour must be before Him, & the right attitude we must have towards sin.

I'm sure that as time went on, Israel failed to carry out such judgement on the people's sins, even as all Israel gave themselves over to idolatry & the wicked ways of the heathen, which caused their exile. So, even today, Israel would not be carrying out the requirements of Leviticus chapter 20 (& those of other chapters) as they have departed from God's requirements, with pressures due to different forms of government, new laws, & influences from other nations.

But for Gentiles, maybe you & me, we come under our own government's laws, & they certainly would regard many of God's Laws as unapplicable to them, abominable & to be rejected. So now we have laws that give equal treatment to homosexuals, adulterers, fornicators, incestuous, murderers, & probably in time, to bestiality. We are conditioned to accept & believe that such behaviour should be the decision of the people & should not concern anyone else nor the government to declare right from wrong. And that would be a typical response from a government that has no fear of God.

But the government who fears God, of which there are none today, they would apply at least harsher penalties for such sins. Though man's sins, however evil they might be, are allowed by the law to continue without punishment, we know that at the coming day of judgement, all will be exposed & God will execute His Judgement without repentance on man & government of men for their rejection of God. Yet, in mercy, God stepped in & provided His Sacrifice that allows the sinner to be forgiven.

Very hard for me to pray because I know I don't deserve your mercy or grace. I need & want to ask for forgiveness & have other believers witness it. I repent for repeatedly not doing Your will, not following through when you present a way out of my troubles, hurting others who give me so many chances I don't deserve. I know I don't deserve a job or money to pay bills but I guess You see me as perfect & so please send me financial help - I need the Holy Spirit to guide me to the correct job choice - one that I'll be successful at & is Your Will.

Wow !!!! I dunno , sense we do not have any recall of our spiritual life prior to this flesh life, we all just need to have patience, an understanding that soon , upon his 2nd coming, in a blink of a eye, we will return to our spiritual body take a knee , an then have that total recall ,. I pray that we all stay true, an not fall for the deceit of the anti christ ,.. an we all wait for our real king of kings an lord of lords

    Hi Adam

    Good explanation.

I think that we will have a body like Jesus had after His resurrection. He could eat and be touched. He had human form and skin and bones.

But He could appear and move through time and space at will.

And the Angels said He would come back in the same way He ascended, bodily.

Yet, again. He did say that He went to the Father to receive back the glory He had before the creation of the world. We do not know what that glory is, but Paul's encounter on the road to Damascus and the Transfiguration tell us that He is surrounded by light. I don't know if we will shine like Jesus but I do think our bodies will be like His and we can be touched, eat, etc. like He did after the resurrection . I think we will continue to be filled with the Holy Spirit but in a more complete and perfect way.

Hello, the Bible doesn't directly address such a topic, but it clearly says homosexuality is a sin and detestable to God.

I don't believe anyone is born with a desire to commit sodomy. Children aren't born with a lust to commit heterosexual fornication or adultery either.

It's shameful how society has tried so hard to sexualize children and force or brainwash them into confirming to others' ideals- usually the parents, teachers, or other influencers. Later in life children will grow into young adults and will face increasing temptation. People often confuse ones choices and opportunity as somehow being personality and orientation-defining things. In reality, people face temptation of sin and have a choice to make each time, regardless of their perceived self-identity. Many flip flop on what they think they want, even throughout life. This and many other factors debunk the 'born that way' lie.

Evidence shows that how a child is raised plays a signficant role in how they view the world, including their interest in the opposite sex. Those with drama at home or a missing parent has a significant impact.

So, when parents assume their child is gay I wonder: what is their definition of gay? Just because someone currently uses more femine or masculine behavior doesn't automatically equate to them wanting and choosing to commit the sin of sodomy.

Sadly, we hear all kinds of satanic worldly morals on TV propaganda and in movies trying to deceive people into believing that unnatural relations are 'normal'. God is very clear in his Word what He thinks of it. He loves everyone and wants the best for them and believe He has compassion on anyone struggling with their identity, but for those who intentionally commit evil and vile perversions against God they will reap what they sow. All must choose whether to conform to the world's morals or to God's morals. 1 John 2:15. God bless.

    Thanks Chris,

That explains a lot. I agree that God has attributes we do not nor may never know about since he is infinitely perfect.

I have begun reading up On this, and there are a number of verses that say that God created all things for His glory; other places speak that all things were created for His pleasure.

But I ask what does that mean

    "For His glory"?

I agree that God is sel-existent, therefore Life Itself, and that He is self-sufficient possessing every aspect (attribute) of perfection that identifies Him as the only necessary Being eternally alive. So, if He is self-sufficient and possesses all Perfections without any lack, then He does not need to acquire anything outside of Himself to become complete, because He already is complete. And since He is eternally complete, then nothing can be reduced or taken from Himself. Hmmmm.

I concur that He most likely created because as the perfect, infinite, necessary, and changeless Being, he must be an Active rather than a Passive Being. So, therefore, He would necessarily express all if His attributes eternally. Yet, creation had a beginning, do He must have began time in order to express the glory of His creativity. And in His creation within time, He gave expression to the glory of many other attributes that could not be expressed in the Godhead, like mercy, grace, justice, wrath, generosity, benevolence, anger, compassion (since there is no evil, sin, or unrighteousness in the Godhead for these attributes to be expressed).

So, I will read more on this to better understand what is meant by "for His glory".

I know that this does not mean that God is self-serving , prideful, or narcissistic. He didn't create to show off. He created all for the benefit of creation, so benevolence is expressed in this way.

God is much, much greater than we could ever imagine. Our attempts to describe what is transcendent about Him fall short, but they do help US know Him more and leads us to praise and worship Him

Hello, I've heard this interesting question before, but the Bible doesn't answer this anywhere to my knowledge.

I'm not sure we will even have physical bodies per se, but perhaps some kind of spiritual body that is permanent that may have a a physical representation. Job 19:26 indicates there could be a flesh component.

1 Corinthians 15:52 suggests that the body may be a new incorruptable form.

The dead will rise to meet Jesus. Since bodies generally turn back into dust in the ground, I think its logical that some kind of renewed body or spiritual body would contain us. I would assume we would all look our natural mature age as an adult and not a child or senior, but this isn't based on anything Biblical, just speculation. God bless.
