The references to Romans have nothing to do with this. Just my reading today that I have shed light on.
Among other things in chapter 16 v 27 I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord.
Then I remembered that blessed Paul had a hard time writing. And this Tertius wants to have his name written down in the letter book and mentions it :)
And I have been on the road with Jesus for 50+ years and never reflected on this. Bless everyone in the Love of Christ that we give to each other every day. Amen. Love u all in Jesus Christ.
There is great confusion about this, even when one speaks with other tongues. And that among the believers. It's so nice to open your mouth, it's also nice to show the gifts you have. But because of fear of man, many are sitting with services that the devil has simply bound in a church. Often the Holy Spirit has been left out of a meeting because people simply do not allow the Spirit to speak! This is a shame and not God's Will among us believers.
With us, love should not live in fear.
To make this right, the meetings of the church need to open up to the Spirit of God and All the various gifts will flow in the church.
So think about it all, that you must not shut the Holy Spirit in.
Jesus cries about it.
All meetings that are created for believers and NOT believers must make a difference. Because when there is a public meeting, it is important to show Order and not Disorder.
The first thing an infant encounters should not be tongues. Is equal to confusion that may never be corrected. Unfortunately. I know this because I have some friends who will never join a meeting. They are sitting at home with a,
s m a l l Jesus. And never get to know the services and the various gifts Christians can receive in the congregation. Is not that a shame for Christianity?
When you come to a church, it should be Free, not bound by fear of man and here is the Pastor's responsibility to throw out the spiritual obstacle that will come every day, several times a day
So in this case, All Pastors have a great responsibility surely greater than many are aware of! For you must let the church live with all the perfect newborns and elders who have never been able to unfold, neither in spirit nor in church. Remember we are all Jesus' Bride. And what was it that He was afraid to face when He comes again? God Bless u in HisHisHolyNameJesus
The first resurrection is when you are born again by God's miracle of the new birth which you can only get from God and not from your choice. (See John 1.11-14 "11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
The first death is when you are alive in body but dead in sin as we all are at birth. ( Ephesians 2.8-10.
The second resurrection is the life-giving change of being taken into heaven when you are resurrected by the Lord. The second death is the judgement and sentencing and incarceration in hell of all who have rejected Christ on earth..
Agreed, God has kept us from knowing ALOT for our own good, I believe.
Ezekiel passage is interesting. We do not know when this took place or when we are not told.
In Genesis the first day is that day light was created but before this time the heavens and the earth existed. For how long we do not know, but gap theory between verse 1&2 is a possibility. But even if there was a gap, God did not tell us about It except for Ezekiel passage about the fall of Lucifer and his presence in the Garden of Eden. So, for
Me, time to move on to another topic
It's great to hear from you, in Uganda. On this site under "More" tab, it says you can download, you can try that. There are websites that sell copies if you "search" for : 1611 Bible version, shopping , Christianbook com is one. I purchased Bibles from that site & had delivered to another Country, not long ago.
Hope this is helpful
I believe all through the scripture it supports the view the Holyspirit empowers the believer and as the scriptures you pointed out it took the dwelling of the Holyspirit to perform in them to minister under this new covenant. You see it in the life of Peter here in Luke 22:32. When was Peter strengthened and start to perform? It's obvious in scripture after he was empowered. Christ was preaching his death and resurrection, but they couldn't receive it. In Luke 18:31-34. he declared to them what the Prophets has written, and they still couldn't grasp it because it hidden from them.
Also, in John 16:12-14. seems to suggest the same thing. The preaching of the Cross was hidden from their eyes, and it seems Paul is mentioning the same thing throughout his epistles speaking of the natural man. 1 Corinthians 2:7-14.
The Holyspirirt is essential for understand and walk. Once he reveals his truth to us they're written on our hearts it takes him to exercise those truths in us and perfect our walk. we respond to the truth by the power of the Holyspirit, likewise the Apostles.
For it is God which worketh in you both to "will" and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13.
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63.
The bible is not like our textbooks in school, what we have here has to be revealed to you, 1 Corinthians 1:18-21.
Also: 1 Corinthians 1:26-31.
You see the Holyspirits power over the flesh in Romans 8:1-14.
You see the Holyspirirt working in us through baptism given us power to cease from sin in Romans 6:1-18.
You see the contrast of the two natures in Romans 7:1-6. and so on. Here we see the contrast of what we had when we were under the law compared to what we have in Christ.
God bless.
Hebrews 3:1-6, Hebrews 4:14-16, Hebrews 5, Hebrews 6, Hebrews 7, Hebrews 8:1-13, Hebrews 9, Hebrews 10,
Romans 12:4-6, Hopefully these are helpful in your study
Matthew 18:21-35, Matthew 6:12,14, Mark 11:26, Luke 11:4, Leviticus 23, Leviticus 25, Numbers 30, Ecclesiastes 5:4,5, Ezekiel 18:7-32,
Deuteronomy 23, Proverbs 28:8, Psalms 15:5, Ezekiel 22:12,
Excuse my corny humor! No we don't go looking for Cherubim to locate the Garden of Eve.
I agree, we just don't know.
However I don't believe where the scripture says he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, TO KEEP THE "WAY" OF THE TREE OF LIFE. Means God set up a road block of some sort.
It means he set gaurd to keep the way open. My sarcasm was it don't take 2 Cherubim to keep little old me out. Angels are known to be mighty.
And as for Adam and Eve and the garden being here on earth, I've never heard it any other way, I believe the scripture plainly states that.
We also have no scripture on what the earth was like before Adam and Eve sinned.
We do know Adam was "placed" in the garden to dress it. Genesis 2:15. "And the LORD God TOOK THE MAN, AND "PUT" HIM INTO THE GARDEN of Eden to dress it and to keep it". Genesis 2:15
And we do know he drove him out to go back to where he was created to till the ground. Genesis 3:23.
And there they populated the Earth.
Here's another provocative view I have heard.
Here in Ezekiel 28:13-14. If the Garden of God and the Garden of Eve is one of the same this is not the view of Satan we have in Genesis!
In Ezekiel he haven't fallen yet, "If" the Garden of Eve and the Garden of God is one of the same when did Satan have his career in it?
Also see Isaiah 14:12-14.
Would this fit into the Gap theory?
This is not a rhetorical question.
You and I admit we don't know, We only have "our" Perspective. Perhaps someone can help us.
God bless.
To those who love the appearing of Christ, who anxiously wait and look forward to the day when He will return for His saints. This crown is given to those who have lived a good and righteous life for God while living down here on earth. If you are a believer you have been made righteous before God the Father as a result of Jesus dying on the cross for all of our sins. This means that the righteousness of Jesus has now been imputed to you. It also refers to us living a goodand righteous life for God the Father with what time we have left down here. There are Christians who are righteous before God the Father as a result of being saved, called Justification, through the blood of Jesus Christ; but they are not living righteous lives in their actions, words and behaviours, called Sanctification. There are some people that may be saved in God's eyes, but still continue to do evil works that the unsaved would do. We all have our flaws, weaknesses, and certain temptations that we may struggle with. It is not perfection but DIRECTION that God is looking for.God just wants each one of us to choose to do the right thing when faced with certain temptations or choices to do something bad. When it is all said and done, these Christians will probably be receiving some of the greatest rewards that God can hand out once they enter into heaven. It says in the Bible,"Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:8 To live a righteous life for God will really be worth your while as you will definitely be given this crown by God Himself once you enter into heaven.
This event was a prophesy fulfilled. Jesus fulfilled over 100 prophesies just on the day He was crucified; and when he was entombed.
A good Reference Bible lists them as you read along. It enriches your whole study experience.
What's amazing is that the Rabbi's knew of those Old Testament prophesies, but few put it together then.
Lists of the Old Testament and New Testament prophesies can be viewed on Google. Also with the scriptures that show Jesus's life fulfilled all of them. Thinking of the odds of that happening will make you say WOW!!
Jesus knew that Judas was the betrayer.
Adam and Chris have give you good Scriptures to help you.
When Jesus was teaching the disciples how to pray in the chapters Adam gave you, Jesus didn't intend for us to rattle off this prayer without thinking. But to use it as a daily prayer or a pattern that we can imitate.
I have taken this prayer and journaled what each phrase means and prayed it in a more expanded way from my journal.
This gave my a deeper and richer mindset in my prayer life. Now, if I pray this prayer as Jesus instructed, I do so sincerely and with added words that reflect what I need to say to God in relation to the phrases.
This prayer is instructive to
Us and can be the beginning of our time in pray and then we move on to the petitions we know to lift up
To God in that time frame.
We can pray to God in a variety of ways. As s believer seeks to have a prayerful heart, the Holy Spirit helps us grow on our praying. It is never just us who prays, but the Spirit prays in and with us.
How wonderful is that.
Greetings
You have received some very good replies to your question
About 20 years ago I read a small easy to read book called "Practicing the presence of God"
It spoke about some of the things people have mentioned Here already . Essentially this book talks about living every moment aware that we are in God'ss Presence through the Holy Spirit dwelling within us.
Therefore, we are to speak with God, contemplate His Word and excellencies, lift up
Petitions to Him as they come into our minds, live in gratitude to Him and all He provides, and in all that we do, remember to do ot unto God as we go through our day to
Day activities.
Hello, You will most likely get a variety of explanations on this.
So read each one and check them out with the Scriptures.
Here is my explanation :
Jesus is the only Savior for mankind. He was perfect man and God in one Person. He lived a sinless life to fulfill all righteousness for us. He suffered through taking upon Himself all the sins of all humanity, bearing the just wrath of God got our sins in His crucifixion and death. He rose from the dead after three days of being dead, this bring victorious for us over, sin, death, hell and the devil.
So, believing all of this is believing in the name of Jesus. It is believing who He is and what He has done for you to have your sins forgiven and put you in right relationship with God, which could not be if Jrsus had not come, died, and rose from the dead.
Believing on Jesus' name also means that we accept that all of our salvation is accomplished by Jesus and none of it is from our own efforts or merits.
Hope this helps.
I think that doubt is just part of the fallen human condition.
Jesus did not reject Thomas for doubting the report of His resurrection from his fellow disciples. Jesus showed up at a time He knew Thomas was present. Jesus will "show up" for us. Too. When we doubt.
I had a time if tom 2002-2005 where I was discouraged, wounded, and questioned my faith and doubted big time. But what brought me out of it was this word from the Spirit to me when I was at my lowest: Lord. To whom else shall we go? For You have the words of eternal life.
John 6:6
Just know that I have been a believer all my life and even after following Jesus for 40+ years, I went through this valley, and Jesus showed up in through these words the Spirit brought to my mind. This experience made me stronger and even more determned to follow Jesus because I realized. Really, there is no other option but Jesus for the life that is really worth living as we live it in the Resurrection power of Jesus
So be encourage in doubts, cry out to Gid and He will "show up" so You might believe amidst the doubts, tears, and, discouragement.
I do believe that Adam and Eve was made and lived on the earth and therefore, that the Garden of Eden was also earthly.
Hello,
Since God is a Troune Godhead of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
God will judge mankind through Jesus, who is God, the Son and perfect man on one person. Since Jesus is God, He has the authority and power to execute judgement and as perfect Man, He is also apppinted to judge sinful mankind. But since Jesus is God and man unified in One person, two people are not judging, only One.
So, in Jesus, Mankind is being judged by God who is perfect and perfect man.
