  • CHOOSING HELL OR HEAVEN__DO IT TODAY - In Reply - 4 years ago
What happens to unbelievers when they die? They immediately go to a place called Hades. Luke 16:23-24. "for I am in agony in this flame.'" Hades is the temporary waiting place of the unsaved dead. It is a place of torment that begins the moment an unbeliever dies. Their final destination is the Lake of Fire. In Revelation 20:12-15, John said, "I saw the dead standing before the throne, and BOOKS were opened; and another book was opened, book of LIFE; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their DEEDS. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and judged according to their deeds.

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the SECOND death. And if anyone's name was NOT found written in the book of LIFE , he was thrown into the lake of fire; a place of forever suffering.

The common experience in both the temporary location, Hades, and the Final Destination for the unsaved, the Lake of Fire, is physical pain. Right now, those who die without Christ are in Hades awaiting their FINAL JUDGMENT: the Great White Throne Judgment. And at that judgment Hades will be emptied and all the UNSAVED who have ever lived will stand before God. And because their names ARE NOT written in the Lamb's Book of Life, they will be judged by their DEEDS. That is a choice they made in this life. On that day, every unbeliever will see that his works do not meet the standard of perfect righteousness that God requires and understand why he has been sentenced to the Lake of Fire.

Here is the basic truth everyone needs to understand: when we die we immediately begin experiencing God's blessing or God's judgment. While it is true that at some future day believers will change location from the third Heaven to the New Heaven, and unbelievers will also change location from Hades into the Lake of Fire, a change of LOCATION is not the same as a change of eternal DESTINY.

    Romans 1:13

Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.

    Romans 10:3

For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

    Romans 11:25

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

    1 Corinthians 10:1

Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea

    1 Corinthians 12:1

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

    1 Corinthians 14:38

But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

    2 Corinthians 1:8

For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

    1 Thessalonians 4:13

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

Must be one of Paul's favorites?

Hi Freedom in Christ, It is Yah's will that everyone be saved. He grants everyone the chance, but he is knows all things, so the people that he know will be saved have a predestination. And you say why did he create the people who wouldn't lesson, well, he says, let the wicked forsake their way and he can graft them in, so no one will have an excuse.

Dear Kathy, I will pray for you today.

Lord Jesus, bring all of Kathy's family to know You and receive Your salvation promise. Protect Kath's family from physical harm as well as from anything the enemy wants to inflict upon them. Surround them with your grace and power that they may soon come to You and that the enemy will be thwarted and repelled by Your presence in this family. In Your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Abba Father, I present to you Jburt. He is aware that he struggles with anxiety and hatred. That is the first step. He has taken the second step in asking you to change his heart. I stand in agreement with him. May you give him a heart of flesh. Also may you lead his daughters to your only begotten Son Jesus so that they and their households may be saved. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus.

    Hey Rick,

Death is something we all will face; many believe our body dies and our soul lives on. Is our soul immortal? Can we take 2 Corinthians 5:8 when we die our soul leaves our body and we are present with the Lord? Some define death as a separation of the soul from the body. Does that come from scripture? I have not found that in scripture.

It comes from Greek philosophy of Plato. He wrote the body is a prison for the soul and viewed death as the means of freedom for the soul. The philosophy of death started blending in the church in the second century and those good souls go to heaven and the bad goes to hell and more. Many see the parable in Luke 16:19-31 as fitting this. If you read the chapter Jesus is talking about the unrighteous love mammon and neglect the true riches.

My understanding from scripture every part of us is mortal and when we die, we sleep in the dust, Job 14:12-14, Job 17:13-16, Ecclesiastes 9:5-10 until resurrection. When this mortal puts on immortality 1 Corinthians 15:52-58, and we will be absent from this flesh body. Then those that are Christs will be judged and receive our rewards. Matthew 16:27, Revelation 22:12 that is our hope, 1 Thessalonians 2:19

We will sleep in the dust, Daniel 12:2, 1Theselonians 4:14 and this is not from heaven, it is from around the world to meet Jesus in the air coming down to Israel the start the 1000 years at His coming. Matthew 24:31 Zechariah 14:4.

This is my understanding of scripture.

    God bless,

    Dear CB,

I did not post my previous post to discount anyone's experience with mistreatment due to being a person of color. I was looking at the bigger picture. I have a family of mixed race members. I consider this a wonderful blessing. We have been this way for so many years that I do not think about the lightness or darkness of their skin when I interact with them as I think about the person they are. So, I speak all of this in peace. I do not intend to stir up controversy. I have always side on the side that refuses to be racist and against mistreatment of others. This is what Jesus calls us to be like.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Dear CB

We are all descended from Adam through Noah. What is important for a Christian is to love others. So that is what most of us who are joined in Christ do as much as we are able to do, knowing at times we err because we still have a sinful nature that we must overcome daily by the power of grace in Christ. Therefore, there should be no place for racism in the body of Christ. Thankfully, America and other European nations abolished slavery over 100 years ago. Over the century many attitudes and practices needed to be corrected in our society. God by His Spirit changed our nation's approach to racial issues. Sadly, racism still exists, bit not to the measure it was in the past. We can be thankful for that.

I think it is important to realize that racism or slavery is not inherently a "white" problem. It has and does exist within any society because of our sin nature, which people of every race possesses. Thank God we have freedom in Christ to not give in to racism. The Holy Spirit empowers us to refuse temptations and corrects us when we do or say something that is not loving our neighbor as ourselves. As far as slavery, it has existed in all peoples since the times after the flood. Whites enslaved other whites in Europe, blacks enslaved other blacks in Africa, Arabs enslaved blacks in the Middle East and Northern Africa, China still enslaves peoples within its borders. Native Americans enslaved other native Americans. So, we cannot point our finger at any one group concerning this topic. The whole human race shares the guilt of this practice. This does not mean any of us alive in America today enslaved anyone or have been enslaved by another, but both whites and people of color have expressed racism in the past and also today. We should guard ourselves from pitting one group against another or blaming only one group for this problem, as all groups have engaged in racism. We all have need of sanctification and God is doing this in us. Thankfully.

With respect and affection . My mom and dad are both quite poorly and have numerous unpleasant illnesses , so in my heart and mind each day , as I am going about my business , I pray to God : dear God please b merciful to my mom and dad . I don't believe all our prayers need to b formal or need to b spoken out loud . We can carry them in our hearts all day , God can c straight into our hearts . Here r some scriptures that u might find helpful : 1st Sam Ch 12 V 23 , Job Ch 33 v 26 , Jeremiah Ch 29 v 12 , Psalm 122 v 6 , Luke Ch 6 V 28 , Luke Ch 18 V 1 , Luke Ch 21 v 36 , John Ch 17 V 9 and 1st Tim Ch 2 V 8 . I think Job Ch 42 v 8 ties in nicely with James Ch 5 V 16 . Revelation Ch 22 V 20 ties in with Mat Ch 6 V 10 . Finally Psalm 122 v 6 ties in with Ezekiel Ch 40 to 48 and the return of Christ as I believe that to pay for the peace of Jerusalem is to pray for the return of Christ , only then will Jerusalem know true and lasting peace. U can have a prayer in your heart all day every day , either a personal one or a more scriptural one . I tried to post this message before but I think I messed up my e mail address and it didn't go through .

    Hi CB.

You're right in that in God eyes there is one race and that is the Human race.

And that entire race fell under the curse of sin "Through Adam " Racism and every other sin entered afterwards.

The second Adam came to redeem us from that curse .

We that follow Christ teachings focus on the work of the second Adam. That topic brings out the carnallity/Worldliness in even the body of Christ.

2 Timothy 2:4. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

The link you posted doesn't support the view you mentioned, It does mentions a verses that doesn't have anything to do with racism. Israel was a people that was to be set apart from the rest of the world for God's purpose to magnify himself "A true and living God that provides" And eventually bring us together as one people looking forward to a promised land. The New Jerusalem! The other nations served other gods. There is where we have the fornication mentioned in the link.

Abraham was called out of that, Not because of his genes, He needed a savior too.

    God bless.

This verse has helped me in my walk with the Lord. I was bedridden for around four years, I couldn't do anything for myself. I thought wow I retire from my job and instead of enjoying life with my wife I'm stuck in bed. That was in 2007, I met an elderly woman who was a missionary along with her husband,I was in a Veterans nursing home. She prayed for me and encouraged me to pray to the Lord from the heart. A heart who truly believes Jesus Christ is the Son of our Heavenly Father,God Almighty. I didn't know how to pray and I learned it's just like talking to my wife etc. I put my trust in the Lord and I talked to Him and I started feeling so comfortable with spending time talking with the Lord, praying became easier. I still have fear that I do it wrong, but within four months I put my trust in the Lord and He became My strength and my shield. From not being able to do anything for myself I was able to sit up, to bath some what by myself, I was able to sit and to transfer to my wheelchair. Elation so great, people would say I knew you could do it or you worked hard for this. I never accepted credit for my new abilities but gave all praise and glory to the Lord our God. I knew that the Lord had and still does gives me the strength and shield to do things I thought I would never do again. The Lord is my shield protecting me from Satan and his evil angels. If not I would have returned back to feeling sorry for myself. I know for a fact that because of myself being opened to the Lord and His love I was given the strength to do all that I now do. I know I am protected knowing He is my shield and buckler, my God in Him I trust. I believe in prayer and I tell people to pray to the Lord for He hears our prayers. My heart trusted in Him and I was definitely helped. Praise God forevermore, Glory be to our Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen I hope this is okay but this verse has so much power in it. Thank you

I'm asking for prayer for my walk with the LORD. I have been dealing with anxiety and hatred. So I'm asking GOD for deliverance and a new heart. To love like JESUS loved. My daughters are both with men who are not walking with the LORD. I'm praying for them too because they are living together and I'm having a hard time of showing these men love. Please pray with me for GOD to have his way in these relationships.

    Hi Brother Rick,

    Body, and soul, are separate.

    Matthew 10:28

"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

    Read and Believe!
