Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the SECOND death. And if anyone's name was NOT found written in the book of LIFE , he was thrown into the lake of fire; a place of forever suffering.
The common experience in both the temporary location, Hades, and the Final Destination for the unsaved, the Lake of Fire, is physical pain. Right now, those who die without Christ are in Hades awaiting their FINAL JUDGMENT: the Great White Throne Judgment. And at that judgment Hades will be emptied and all the UNSAVED who have ever lived will stand before God. And because their names ARE NOT written in the Lamb's Book of Life, they will be judged by their DEEDS. That is a choice they made in this life. On that day, every unbeliever will see that his works do not meet the standard of perfect righteousness that God requires and understand why he has been sentenced to the Lake of Fire.
Here is the basic truth everyone needs to understand: when we die we immediately begin experiencing God's blessing or God's judgment. While it is true that at some future day believers will change location from the third Heaven to the New Heaven, and unbelievers will also change location from Hades into the Lake of Fire, a change of LOCATION is not the same as a change of eternal DESTINY.
Choose now, before it's TOO LATE. Mishael

Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.

For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
1 Corinthians 14:38
But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:
1 Thessalonians 4:13
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

Lord Jesus, bring all of Kathy's family to know You and receive Your salvation promise. Protect Kath's family from physical harm as well as from anything the enemy wants to inflict upon them. Surround them with your grace and power that they may soon come to You and that the enemy will be thwarted and repelled by Your presence in this family. In Your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for a lovely testimony. May your retirement continue to go well. I am just beginning mine.
Death is something we all will face; many believe our body dies and our soul lives on. Is our soul immortal? Can we take 2 Corinthians 5:8 when we die our soul leaves our body and we are present with the Lord? Some define death as a separation of the soul from the body. Does that come from scripture? I have not found that in scripture.
It comes from Greek philosophy of Plato. He wrote the body is a prison for the soul and viewed death as the means of freedom for the soul. The philosophy of death started blending in the church in the second century and those good souls go to heaven and the bad goes to hell and more. Many see the parable in Luke 16:19-31 as fitting this. If you read the chapter Jesus is talking about the unrighteous love mammon and neglect the true riches.
My understanding from scripture every part of us is mortal and when we die, we sleep in the dust, Job 14:12-14, Job 17:13-16, Ecclesiastes 9:5-10 until resurrection. When this mortal puts on immortality 1 Corinthians 15:52-58, and we will be absent from this flesh body. Then those that are Christs will be judged and receive our rewards. Matthew 16:27, Revelation 22:12 that is our hope, 1 Thessalonians 2:19
We will sleep in the dust, Daniel 12:2, 1Theselonians 4:14 and this is not from heaven, it is from around the world to meet Jesus in the air coming down to Israel the start the 1000 years at His coming. Matthew 24:31 Zechariah 14:4.
This is my understanding of scripture.
God bless,

I did not post my previous post to discount anyone's experience with mistreatment due to being a person of color. I was looking at the bigger picture. I have a family of mixed race members. I consider this a wonderful blessing. We have been this way for so many years that I do not think about the lightness or darkness of their skin when I interact with them as I think about the person they are. So, I speak all of this in peace. I do not intend to stir up controversy. I have always side on the side that refuses to be racist and against mistreatment of others. This is what Jesus calls us to be like.
We are all descended from Adam through Noah. What is important for a Christian is to love others. So that is what most of us who are joined in Christ do as much as we are able to do, knowing at times we err because we still have a sinful nature that we must overcome daily by the power of grace in Christ. Therefore, there should be no place for racism in the body of Christ. Thankfully, America and other European nations abolished slavery over 100 years ago. Over the century many attitudes and practices needed to be corrected in our society. God by His Spirit changed our nation's approach to racial issues. Sadly, racism still exists, bit not to the measure it was in the past. We can be thankful for that.
I think it is important to realize that racism or slavery is not inherently a "white" problem. It has and does exist within any society because of our sin nature, which people of every race possesses. Thank God we have freedom in Christ to not give in to racism. The Holy Spirit empowers us to refuse temptations and corrects us when we do or say something that is not loving our neighbor as ourselves. As far as slavery, it has existed in all peoples since the times after the flood. Whites enslaved other whites in Europe, blacks enslaved other blacks in Africa, Arabs enslaved blacks in the Middle East and Northern Africa, China still enslaves peoples within its borders. Native Americans enslaved other native Americans. So, we cannot point our finger at any one group concerning this topic. The whole human race shares the guilt of this practice. This does not mean any of us alive in America today enslaved anyone or have been enslaved by another, but both whites and people of color have expressed racism in the past and also today. We should guard ourselves from pitting one group against another or blaming only one group for this problem, as all groups have engaged in racism. We all have need of sanctification and God is doing this in us. Thankfully.
God bless.
You're right in that in God eyes there is one race and that is the Human race.
And that entire race fell under the curse of sin "Through Adam " Racism and every other sin entered afterwards.
The second Adam came to redeem us from that curse .
We that follow Christ teachings focus on the work of the second Adam. That topic brings out the carnallity/Worldliness in even the body of Christ.
2 Timothy 2:4. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
The link you posted doesn't support the view you mentioned, It does mentions a verses that doesn't have anything to do with racism. Israel was a people that was to be set apart from the rest of the world for God's purpose to magnify himself "A true and living God that provides" And eventually bring us together as one people looking forward to a promised land. The New Jerusalem! The other nations served other gods. There is where we have the fornication mentioned in the link.
Abraham was called out of that, Not because of his genes, He needed a savior too.
God bless.
Body, and soul, are separate.
Matthew 10:28
"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
