@Ronald Whittemore and Alex N - Thank You. I will meditate on what you said.

@Gigi- Idol worship (like the way Catholics worship Mary and made Peter out to be the first Pope) to me is a worse sin than calling out someone for erring. And, aren't you passing judgement on me for pointing out Peter's mistakes?

Please show her James 5:14-16 right away:

James 5 - 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

15And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

    -

Some points to consider about that passage:

    1. According to the Bible, only men can be elders ( 1 Timothy 2:11-15 - 1 Corinthians 14:34-36 - 1 Timothy 3:1-2 - Titus 1:6)

    2. The anointing oil needs to be done; it's not "just medicinal" like some teach - (Read Mark 6:7 & 6:12-13 those were clearly supernatural healings, and yet they still used the anointing oil - when they anointed in the Old Testament, they simply poured oil on someone's head ( Leviticus 8:12 - 2 Kings 9:6 - 1 Samuel 10:1) - you don't need any man to "bless the oil", the Bible did not say to do that - the anointing simply needs to be done in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

    3. It says "the prayer of faith shall save the sick", so I encourage everyone to be praying God will give the gift of faith to the mother, and the elders, otherwise, as it said earlier in James "...let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord." ( James 1:6-7)"

It seems I'm required to make this clear: I'm not a doctor. And anyone who does anything I talk about is done at their own risk.

If your dad is not a Christian, or is unwilling to do James 5, please look into "bitter apricot seeds", there are testimonies from people who cured themselves with this; yet the medical industry suppresses it because they can't patent and make much money off natrual seeds. Vitamin B17 is a NATRUAL cyanide which kills cancer cells it comes in contact with, this natrual form is different than the SYNTHETIC cyanide which indeed is highly poisonous. B17 is in so many different foods including apple seeds, and there are even cancer free societies such as the Hunza people that consume apricot seeds widely - but they try to make vitamin B17 (which is different from synthetic cyanide) sound dangerous - we can trust the Lord Jesus Christ didn't create our apples, apricots, and other foods with anything that's going to hurt us - Jesus isn't poisoning our food! And He mentions the seeds when talking about what we are supposed to eat:

Genesis 1:29 "And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."

Psalms 118:8 "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."

    Amy,

I sure wish our President was Trump instead of Biden.

As for our next President, I pray that God will raise up the best person for our country and for His will to be done.

I pray that God will destroy tha plans and work of those who want to defraud our elections in 2022 and 2024.

I ask God to stir up those who are apathetic to become well informed and then vote.

Please read Genesis 5:1-2, Genesis 1:26-30, here it states plural. It also reasonably suggests multiple to subdue the entire earth. Genesis 1:26, Genesis 1:28,

Genesis 2:15, was this a separated man? If GOD had already told mankind to subdue the entire earth? Would HE really take him then to dress & tend a special garden HE had made? Or is this symbolic of the Church._. Ezekiel 28:12-15, Ezekiel 31:8-9, Isaiah 58:11, Isaiah 61:11, Joel 2:3? Many times Jesus refers to the "vine dresser", the "stewards", seeds, etc. Luke 13:17, Luke 13:18-21, * John 15:1,5, & many times it's about unfaithfulness of that stewardship many times relating to the "Church" & those in charge. Luke 16:2, Ironic Jesus also being crucified by Garden, John 19:41, & where Jesus was betrayed, bound, taken captive, John 18:26,27, John 18:1-12,

    Genesis 4:1-16, note Genesis 4:14,

Then you have an unreasonable fear of being killed by vengeance which was completely irrational if there was only Adam & Eve. There in that family -2 mourning the murdered child & 1 on the run. Then you have the outrageous idea that those same two parents would give a daughter to the murderer who already disregarded his brother's life to kill him. Gross, perverted imagination!! Genesis 4:16-17 then he built a city. Genesis 19:4-25, why isn't man killed mentioned? Then Seth's birth.

The importance of the lineage of Adam & Eve was it led to the Messiah Jesus CHRIST. Luke 3:22-38. Therefore when Eve is called the mother of all living CHRIST even addressed this as "let the dead bury the dead" pointing to spiritual death. Note it doesn't say Eve was of "life" it said mother of living._Genesis 3:20..Note also the day they would surely "die"! Genesis 2:17. Genesis 3:6-8, fear of (death?) eternal judgement? What happened? If it wasn't a spiritual death? Genesis 3:10, loss of fellowship, trust, intimacy even in marriage that's sometimes referred to "death, of the marriage"

Genesis 6:1-6, Gen 6:6, "earth" not "garden"

    Continued

In 1609 the Duay-Rheims Bible was printed in English with Apochryphal, becoming the first Official Catholic bible in English.

In 1611, The King James Bible was authorized with Apochryphal.

In 1782, the Robert Aitkins Bible prints with Apochryphal . First Bible printed in America.

In 1846 The Illuminated Bible printed in America with Apochryphal. It was very elaborately illustrated.

It wasn't until after the mid-1800's that Bible translations dropped the Apochryphal books from Protestant Bibles.

So this is a good timeline to briefly show the Bible's translation and printing history.

I am not promoting having the Apochrypha in Bible's, just giving a historical perspective.

    Hope this helps.

    You can also Google

History of the Apochrypha to read more on this topic.

    Dear Catherine again.

I have been reading up on the history of the Apocrypha.

One site gave a good timeline for the writings and translations of books included in the Bible over the centuries going back to the time of Moses (1400 B.C.)

In this timeline it said that the Apochryphal books were included in the Septuagint which translated in 200 or so B.C. the Mosaic texts of the OT from Hebrew to Greek because, since the conquering by Alexander the Great, Greek became the common language and Hebrew fell out of use so the Jews could no longer read or understand it. This translation is the one used by Jews, Jesus, his disciples, and early Christians. It contained the Apochryphal books.

In 467 A.D. Athanasian led the canonization of the 27 books of the New Testament, which has remained so up to our current day.

In 367 A.D. Jerome translated the Septuagint and New Testament books from Greek to Latin. This translation was called the Vulgate and was used by most churches up to the Reformation. It contained the Apochryphal books. In 1384 Wycliffe translated the Vulgate into English in a handwritten copy. It included the Apochryphal books.

In 1455A.D. Gutenberg invented the printing press and the first book printed en masse was the Gutenberg Bible in Latin. It included the Apochrypal books.

In 1522, Martin Luther translated the Bible from Latin to German with the Apochryphal.

In 1526 A.D. Tyndall-Matthews translated the New Testament in English.

In 1535, Myles Coverdale translated the first complete Bible in English with Apochryphal.

In 1539, the Great Bible was printed, being the first English Bible Authorized for the public to use. It included the Apochryphal books. Now English speaking people could have their own personal Bible!

In 156? The Geneva Bible was printed and it added verse numbers to the chapters in the Bible. It included the Apochryphal.

N 1586 the Bishop's Bible was printed from which the King James Version was a revision. It had the Aprochypha.

    Hi Mike.

Daniel 11:37. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

This quote The desire of women is a title in the Hebrew language. It has a messianic expectation. It doesn't mean the desire "FOR" women as we would put it.

    God bless.

Perhaps someone else can help us on this.

    Hey Mike Keese,

You will find that in Daniel 11:37, some put this at the end times, but my understanding, this was in the past, Read the entire chapter and also 1 Maccabees will talk about some of it. Antiochus IV is who this is speaking of and what he did to Jerusalem and stopping the daily sacrifices, the abomination of desolation in the temple. Whoever was found in possession of a Torah was put to death, whoever circumcised their children were put to death and a lot more. I will keep it short, may this help.

    God bless,

I just learned today that heat, humidity, and especially sunlight are very effective against certain viruses. But if your sickness is severe or becomes severe, please consider following this passage:

James 5 "14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

    3. It says "the prayer of faith shall save the sick", so please pray for faith, for yourself and the elders, otherwise, as it said earlier in James "...let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord." ( James 1:6-7)"
  • Joshua Babbitt - In Reply on Ephesians 6 - 4 years ago
What I do know is that God didn't lie:

Numbers 23:19 "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"

Titus 1:2 "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;"

    -

The Bible says to trust Him, and not lean on our own understanding of how things should happen, or if certain promises should have applied to him, but didn't:

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

    -

Only God knows the "hidden things of darkness" in the hearts of men (we can't know everything):

1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

    -

And God's thoughts and judgements are infinitely higher than ours:

Isaiah 55:6-9 - 6Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

    -

The Bible also shows us there are things that can shorten our lives - I obviously don't know if this specific verse applies, but as an example, having certain things in his heart and actions (even if it's not this particular verse) wouldn't be honoring the parents who raised him:

    Psalms 55:23

"But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee."
