    Agreed Adam

    Well said

We are to obey God with the help of the Spirit and that isn't done by obeying the sinful nature and the temptations from the devil.

Anyone who truly loves Jesus will lives godly life, not perfect, but when one sins, one should be grieved, repent , and confess this to God. He is faithful and just to forgive us and to help us turn from sin, as Jesus said , go and Sin no more. He knew we would still sin as long as we live in this life. But He expects us to not make a habit of any sin, thinking we are under grace , so sin does not matter. It does, as it is always harmful and causes death in some way within us. Continuing in sin can deaden our love for Jesus and also deaden our faith to the point of apostasy.

So, therefore, Jesus (and Paul) tell us to turn from temptation and do what is good and right in God's eye, not ours.

    Hi Gale

My given name is Geraldine means "Mighty with the sword"

So the Word is the sword of the Spirit

MayI live up to what my name means.

My oldest son just got married. So hoping God blesses them with children
  • Gigi - In Reply - 4 years ago
I was wondering as I have seen your name spelled this way for males. But my name is Geri do I get taken for a male, too. So we have that in common. I am going by Gigi now because of my age-65- and in hopes of becoming a grandma. Little kiddos try to say my name and say Jair-Gi often so now that I have grand nieces and nephews I just go by Gigi.

    Hav va good evening.
  • Gale "Mac" - In Reply - 4 years ago
Perfectly understandable, Grandma-to-be(?). I was born during a storm, thus the name. While "Gail" of "Abigail" is Hebrew for "laughter of the father," my name comes from Old High German for "one who sings" - I guess, when the wind blew fast enough, it was thought that the wood nymphs were singing (...sounds more like moaning to me, though). Hi Rick

In Ezekiel lucifer is not mentioned. Verse 13-15

is describing the King of Tyrus.

You are taking this chapter and the one in Isaiah

    Totally out of context.

    Thanks
  • Jim - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Hi Rick

Morning star is also used by Jesus Christ to describe himself.

    Rev 22:16

    Hi Chris

The bible says first the physical and then the spiritual. You are saying first the spiritual and then the physical. I'm sorry but you have it backwards. Jesus is first mentioned in Genesis 3:15. He was in Gods mind right from the beginning. In the exodus it is said the rock 1 Corinthians 10:4 that followed them. It says spiritual rock which means the rock symbolized Christ. Jesus Christ was in Gods mind right from the beginning. He was not an actual being until his birth about two thousand years ago.

It says Jesus was conceived in the womb. Luke 2:21. Conception is when two seeds are joined together. Jesus started life as a baby and grew from there.

At Jesus resurrection what did Jesus say to Mary?

John 20:17 I ascent to my Father and your Father and to my God and to your God.

    Thanks

    My questionis three (3)fold:

It's was known as far back as the time of Moses that men indulged in witchcraft and magic on accounts of Moses records with Ramses magicians and the serpents..

Matthew 14: 27-33 records the events with Jesus and Peter walking on the water and having doubts Jesus had to save Peter..They thought he was a spirit!

Fast forward to Jesus miracles after that..Feeding the poor with five(5) loaves and a few fish, healing the sick, some by just touching his garments, raising the dead, turning water to wine and most likely many more not recorded..

Yet at his crucifixion they lost faith denying him publicly? They was with Jesus physically..We have to accept Jesus by faith!

1.Does that make our commitment to follow and accept Jesus in this modern era less or more complicated?

    2. Scriptures states that Jesus granted the thief being crucified with him Eternal life before he, Jesus died and was resurrected? Anything is possible with God

But why is that an example for us today?

    2. God opened the jail for Peter but allowed John the Baptist to remain in prison.. Basically for the same crimes! Being a voice against evil men..

    3. What's the rational or logic between the two events?

My ex husband (He left me for greener pastures) worked at a winery so this is a question that we also explored. He said that the wine was different back then and you would have to drink a lot of it and I mean a lot to get drunk. I did not say you could not get drunk off of it I said it was more like juice it wasn't strong and potent like today. And I also said I could be totally wrong but I believe it's noteworthy. I once questioned these things too. I remember my ex-husband telling me some thing about something having to do with yeast but I can't really remember now. So I am thinking that maybe it wasn't as fermented as the stuff that we have now. I prefer not to drink or use marijuana. I actually want to be sober minded I like it better. But that's because I'm free now. :-).

Donna, my great-nephew was diagnosed with something that would likely kill him in the womb or die shortly after birth. The doctors said that even if he lived he'd likely be forn with heart and kidney disabilities. They advised my niece to get an abortion. This she would not do. God healed that baby completely before he was born. He is a thriving little boy who will turn five on January 15, 2022.

My brother literally believes that he is saved by grace keyword being Grace. That's fine but he has bad fruit. And I do believe that we can look at fruit and B fruit checkers and that's how we're going to know people. Because the Bible says we will know them by their fruits. Things that I will not, cannot, mention here. And certainly cannot do with Jesus. The things he is doing are destroying his life. And his family relationships. He is not having life more abundantly. It's like having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof. Because his mouth speaks of this wonderful grace but his life is full of Dead Man's Bones it stinks and it's broken and it leaves destruction in its path wherever it goes. What can I say to him? His sin has ruined his life. That is not gods grace. How can he get free? He won't listen to me because he's so hung up on his grace salvation. He says you don't have to do anything to be saved not even giving up your sin. But I say if you're saved by grace in which I truly believe in he won't want to sin any more. God will be able to deal with you about your sin and convict you. Not condemn you that's the devil who does that. Does anybody have any thing helpful to say? Maybe some scripture? About why he is saved by grace but his life is so full of willful sin that has him bound and is leaving wreckage everywhere? He has been this way ever since he first believed 20 years or so ago ago. How can he get free?

    Galatians 2:11 (Paul speaking)

But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.

    Galatians 2:14 (Paul speaking)

But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

God chose Peter to preach the gospel to the Jews. God chose Paul to preach the gospel to the Gentiles.

Peter had an advantage Paul did not, in that he walked with Jesus every day, heard His words and witnessed His miracles. And yet he still didn't understand that Jesus is God in the flesh and denied Jesus 3x and even went so far to preach to the unsaved that circumcision (old testament law) is a must to be saved. Paul called him out.

Saul, an accomplice to the murder of the believers of Christ, was knocked off his horse on the Damascus Road when Jesus appeared to him and spoke to him. When Jesus told him what he must do, did he argue? Nope. He simply did what he was told to do, without whining. Paul was a Jew of the tribe of Benjamin and also a Roman citizen so he knew both the Torah and Roman law and spoke several languages.

Peter was a simple fisherman and faithless- even after all he saw and heard from Jesus. Is this really the kind of guy you want to listen to? Catholics claim that Peter was the first Pope. What nonsense.

Of course both were forgiven. Al repentant sinners are forgiven. But if I have to choose between the writings of Peter or Paul, I'll go with Paul. Paul wrote most of what became the New Testament.

I know we're not supposed to pass judgement on anyone. Even Angels know better than to bring a railing accusation against even the wicked. Just be careful of who or what you listen to.

for all of creation because since that time all creation travails in pain until the day of redemption, deliverance and

end of all sin and strife.

What changes of going to heven ? How Do we know for sure if we are saved ?
  • Rick Mentzer - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 4 years ago
Dr. Lee Given that the main subject matter of the bible from Genesis 3:15 to revelation 22:21 is all about

the history of what God had to do to make sure our Saviour was going to be born and accomplish His ministry so

He God could have what He desired originally with Adam and Eve eventually a Family He God being a Father

so to make the statement the old testament laws don't count is at best questionable. The law was given to

educate and protect Gods adopted children from the pagan practices they were surrounded by. Also God all

along was looking for everything to be perfectly right according to all of His creation so that our enemy could

be defeated. So yes the law was temporary Gods purpose, Abraham called Gods purpose, look at the grace in

giving us the comfort of psalms and the instruction of proverbs and everything dealing with Israel. Doesn't

this fit into 2 Timothy 3:16+17 so all scripture is profitable! Also there is still one commandment that fits always

Mathew 22:37-40 on these hang all the law and the prophets its where Adam and Eve started!
  • Rick Mentzer - In Reply - 4 years ago
Hi Adam What I see in scripture that by walking by faith you are fulfilling the law. A person that is diligent to

to believe in what Jesus Christ accomplished will strive to make Gods will their will, at the same time Gods grace in

that we all sin not intentionally is the key,and that's is where we are cleansed from all unrighteousness by the

sacrifice of Christ. Not saying using Grace as a scapegoat to commit broken fellowship because that's basically

slapping what was accomplished by Jesus christ in the face. Our very nature is to sin so walking by the spirit is what

jesus Christ made available to do the works of the spirit. You can do works but have no spiritual love or heart in

what you do natural man does this all the time. Save the planet, I can fix myself by my chi or chai, if I eat all the right

food it will fix everything or let find another planet to live on. Just some examples of natural man's thinking even

we get caught up in this at times in one category or another. Thank God for the ability to walk with God in His Love

grace mercy and peace through Jesus Christ.

or physically hear God unless he wants to get your Attention Moses and burning bush not burning, Moses staff

turning into a snake then back to staff to show Moses God was backing Him up. These are examples of course.

Dr. Lee What do you believe was the intent of the Law? Also what is known as the great commandment in

the law which always is true in practice?
  • Chris - In Reply on 1 Chronicles 16:11 - 4 years ago
Hi David. 'Seeking the Lord's Face' is just an expression for coming before God with our prayers or petitions. When we are in earnest prayer, talking with our Heavenly Father, we approach His Throne with our prayers, asking them in the Name of His Son, Jesus Christ. Sometimes, we might have it in our 'mind's eye' the appearance of God & Jesus. Yet, we won't know what they really look like, but it's only natural to envisage their appearance/face, like when we're writing to or telephoning someone. It's a lot like that in prayer; we don't know God's actual appearance but we're still coming before Him - in His Presence - before His Face - talking with Him as our Father in Heaven.

Dear God, Father in Heaven, You who have created Heaven and Earth. And all things and life forms, and the Spiritual. Lord and Master of the Lords. Nothing can change Your Will for what you have decided is right.

No one can compare with You Lord, You are omniscient Divine God. Who knows All things. Nothing is hidden from You Master. Now i pray for all who are struggling and carrying heavy burdens, come to them You Jesus Christ and give salvation in this moment!

Now i also thank all Your children, who never stop pointing to the Way of Light. Let no one pass by the Light of Jesus Christ, who You Are. You Jesus Christ Is the Light of the world. Their love is also eternal.

Thank You Lord Jesus Christ for strengthening us all to the knowledge of truth and eternal hope of God in You, Jesus Christ. Never let my song for You stop. You are with me all the days of my life and afterwards i will live with You where You are King. Love You forever. If i have forgotten anything in the exaltation of You Lord, look to me that i am a man and a child. For all human wisdom is foolishness to our God. And i bow to that. Amen.

Hello Dr. Lee. I've been following this thread with interest, as I have in my earlier comments in past months, referred to the abrogation of the Law by the coming of Christ & by His Sacrifice; that 'the letter of the Law kills but the Spirit gives life'. Therefore, any appeal to the Decalogue, however unchanged its moral & spiritual requirements might be ( Romans 7:12), would only show that we're subjecting ourselves to a Law, given to Israel, for the purposes of pointing them to their failure to fully keep it & their resulting deserved punishment. I even think of Luke 18:18-25, where the rich ruler followed the letter of the Law perfectly, yet was found lacking because he broke the very first commandment (wealth was also his god).

Yet I noticed in this thread, your clear separation of the Old Covenant (specifically, the Mosaic) & the Old Testament. I must confess that I too gave little consideration to this, believing that the Old Testament was important for its historical & many worthy Truths that we can learn from & be encouraged in the knowledge of God. But I understand from your comments, that the Old Testament (the Torah, the Prophets, & the Writings) have been "destroyed & not replaced". Could you enlarge on this aspect, as I'm wondering if all has been destroyed, what about the prophetical aspects that are yet to be fulfilled (some at Christ's coming, others still in the future)? I ask this, because I would hesitate in making such a bold statement to someone given the many worthy Truths still embedded in the OT, & though much of it fulfilled in the New, should we now totally disregard the Old? I use both the OT & NT with confidence for its Truth & applicability (when rightly divided). I would balk if someone taught me to disregard the OT altogether. Maybe that's not what you mean - just seeking clarification, thank you.
