    Kevin,

Well said. We don't always know or understand the why or even what God will do when He asks us to do something. We are just to obey and leave the rest up to Him.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 4 years ago
Hi Donna, I think that basically, we are to believe what it says-that those who believe that Jesus came from the God to save humanity from sin will be saved and have eternal life instead of judgement.

Is there something else that you are thinking about this Scripture?

    Bill,

In Job 23:12, it says "Neither have I gone back from the commandment of His lips, I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food."

What really is necessary, Spiritual food, or physical food? We eat three times a day or more, plus dessert. How often do we eat spiritually and feed the soul? Very interesting!

In John 4:32, after the disciples brought physical food to Jesus, they said to Him, "Master, eat." Jesus answers and says, " I have meat to eat that ye know not of.

I don't know if you have ever experienced this before, where you are physically hungry, you are physically tired, but then in some way, shape, or form, God ministers through you to someone else, or from someone else to you, and whatever physical hunger you have or physical thirst you have, it doesn't make any difference! You forget about the physical hunger and you are no longer hungry.

The spiritual food is contentment in and of itself. You are not as hungry as you used to be or as starved as you used to be. Now what is interesting here is that remember the woman left her water pot behind.

Jesus said you just brought physical food from the city, but I have food to eat that you know not of. He ministered God's word to this woman.
  • The Day of Pentecost and Following - In Reply on Luke 18 - 4 years ago
Y'all need a music video break :D. Jesus loves us lots.

Jesus knew that on the Day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit would fill the Disciples with the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit. They would have to get used to hearing Jesus, through their born again spirits. :D

There's a song I like that gets all the blood pulsing: by Katrina and the Waves, "Walking on Sunshine". But I'm thinking, SONshine.as in Jesus! I think it could be a Sunday praise song that would fully wake up Everyone!! [ switch out baby baby TO Lord Lord Lord]

The Disciples were mourning; tripping into doubts, messed up. Then Jesus pops in and says HI YALL, why the long faces?

They went from flatline to " the sky's the limit", in a heartbeat (well except Thomas) :/

Let's work on that. They saw Jesus and from that day forward, they heard Jesus.

If we are not hearing Him loud and clear, it may take some humbling, sitting silently in the prayer closet and turn up the volumn on your listening.

I went through a couple of years of not hearing anything! I was so spoiled that I did not know what to do to make Him talk to me! What happened is I conquered doubts, loneliness, my life of betrayals I had suffered, broken dreams of how my life had imploded, and more. I was delivered from stuff I had long thought buried.

The Divine Romance was restored. I am His, and He is Mine. Song of Solomon. He belongs to all of us.

    Psalms 105

The concept of the covenant with Abraham in Genesis was to bring his descendants out of Egypt to fulfill God's promises in Genesis 15. Joseph was sold into slavery later on; and after falsely imprisoned; helped to save his own family from a plague and was highly esteemed in the Pharaoh's presence. There would be a future inheritance of the land of Canaan; as was later instructed to Moses as he was guided by God in the 40 years in the desert after God judged the Egyptians as promised after the 400 years had elapsed. This particular Psalm seems to bypass all the stubbornness of the people; particularly with the provision of the quail which God also used to judge many with a plague when the food was still in their mouths for complaining about their situation with manna and wanting to return to Egypt ( Numbers 11:31-34). Moses himself failed because of anger in the way he struck the rock as stated in verse 41 and that cost him entry into the Promised land; but again God's provision is the only thing mentioned. In all of this and the failures of many Prophets during this period; not to mention the entire original population except for Caleb and Joshua being wiped out in the desert; his original promises were fulfilled and the descendants finally came into the land of promise.

Life's daily trials can slowly erode one's hope and joy. Satan will always sneak up on the weakened Christian, using anything that rewards our flesh because we certainly deserve to be happy. Happiness always gives way to boredom or even depression. I struggled with depression much of my life and thought surely I did something horrible before God. If one dwells on this for so long and feels helpless. Suicide rates are at an all time high because the world seems to have no answers. This leads man to seek man's advice, but without a Godly man seeking to help us through God's Word then the answer are usually empty promises. Let the hope we have in Jesus Christ remind us that this life on earth is very short compared to God's Eternal promises. Lord sent out thy Light and Truth in 2022.

In Mark10:40 Why does Jesus say to James and John To sit on his right hand and on his left hand is not his to give? Who's is it to give? I'm not asking who it shall be given to, I'm asking who's is it to give?

Gigi Now I'm only saying this because when I first was informed what I had the best advice by Gods grace

came from a woman at physical therapy who told me to loose weight. I ask why not being severely large but

every pound overweight adds seven lbs. to spine, I lost 50 lbs. in ten months lots of water and veggies! Not

saying it applies just stating something that's a variable with what we deal with. Also found out most physicians

really have no clue what can be affected, so its been challenging to sort out. Thank Father He put me in the

right direction when needed. Its one day at a time, in that regard nothing changed headed for the bema!

Thank you Brother Dan! This day has been heart warming and encouraging by both near and far friends and family. My eye surgery awhile back still seems to make writing and reading a bit difficult. My heart though still desires Christian communication between friends!

I do hope and pray that you remain well. When it gets a little easier to read again, I would like to participate more.

Thank you for the scripture today.

These rooms are like a family sorta. It ministers to several nations. I love it when they visit.

Unbelievers visit, baby Christians, scholars and everything in between; even heretics ever so often.

Some people can't attend their churches because of vaccination mandates and other reasons. But we try to Edify those who visit and those who think of this as a wonderful forum for ministry.

You don't have to reply to anyone who may handle the Word carelessly. As a rule, most are respectful. Real families make real messes occasionally, and it happens here too.

I hope you'll stop by again. We're Trying to steer us away from redundant repetition of the same subjects. Most people don't know anything about the minor prophets. I never hear them discussed. I trust Jesus to turn this boat. He's the only one who can.

    Thanks Rick

All those things I do. Try to be up and about as much as I can because movement of the spine is beneficial.

When it gets sore, I do as you've suggested.

Being off work has been so helpful as I can really do self care. Been dealing with this for about 8 years. But now I believe the inflammation has diminished markedly, so I can do more without the spasms and constant pain.

But yes, arthritis is not curable or reversible unless the Lord heals, which I pray for. I am thankful for the improvement I have had since being home. I thought when I quit work that I would become more and more disabled. But at this point, I'm in a better place than then. So, Praise be to our Lord and King!

Thank you for sharing. I hope your condition improves also.

    God's blessings to you today.

Roni I believe the Lord shut the Ark to make sure Noah wouldn't take pity hearing the screaming of the unbelievers

and open the ark because if that would have happened it would not have bode well with noah's family. Remember

Noah was the only man righteous in Gods eyes and all others were wicked, some serious house cleaning so to speak.

I stick with the kjv other text I'm leery of unless it lines up biblically. I believe what was given as the construction of

the ark was all that was deemed necessary for explanation of event in Gods Word.

We as believers, must adhere to the instructions of God and God alone, while never, ever, leaning on our own understanding in allowing our carnal man to counsel us, as the Word declares. Once the man of God gave the Word of God with the instructions for Naaman on how to be healed, he was supposed to take that Word at face value, and obey it as we are to do right now today when it comes to what the written Word of God says to us! But instead Naaman got highly upset, and refused the Word from the man of God due to his own preconceived notion as to how God would heal him, and he walked away. Thank God for the men and women who has access to us and will share their beliefs with us like the servants of Naaman, Naaman's servants place their faith in the Word of God, and trust that His Word will perform all that it says it will, they shared their views with Naaman and stated to him that if it was something big the man of God was instructing him to do, he would of done it. So why not trust him in going to the river of Jordan, and he did, and his healing followed immediately! We cant concern ourselves with the specifics of how God will move on our behalf, our assignment is to just place our faith in the Word(s) of God, and trust the Word of God to work the work of God on our behalf. When we try to reason with the move(s) of God, is when the mistakes come, every time. Amen.

Byron K. Smith All the things being taught for the most part in Chapters 5,6 and 7 are not parables but all relate to

principles of thought and heart and lifestyles relating to the kingdom of heaven while teaching from the mountain top.

Everything in the culture and surroundings of the people he was addressing. Whats interesting about the eight

principles eight is the number biblically for a new beginning i.e. spiritual walk with God available after Born Again by

the Spirit. There's a lot to break down just in those verses!
