Jesse That's the reason why the church of pentecost could not have started in the gospels because Jesus Christ

was not glorified yet and the holy spirit was not given yet and again He not any man is going to build His Church

in like manner he will return to gather his body us Who believe the Gathering together. By the way nice additional

    details scripturally.

Dear Chris... Thank you sooo much for your reply on my question...yes I will take all that you said into concentration..yes I have found the comment section..I was up all night reading through different sections..switching back and fort from my Bible study and taking "Trivia" tests on the kjv Bible here in the trivia selection... yeah I really like this site it has alot to offer...thank you for your input...Yes I did find out through living for God that people think we're crazy.but thats OK..I think they are crazy too..for continuing to smoke drugs and drink alcohol and fornicating..I don't put them down for it becouse that is exactly how I was too..I was in the world, sinning like everyone else and on my way to hell..I have turned from my sin and quit all the above..I am still in the world but not of the world..meaning I have turned toward God only and given up the sinful pleasures that only satisfy for a short time.. it may sound easy but it is something everyone has to do to go to Heaven..to turn from their sins.. I'm not here to preach to anyone here or argue..I am a beginner and have alot to learn..I have only been saved less than 6 months.so I am not any authority on how we are supposed to worship God. I am here to LEARN ..Thank you for your message, I feel better at ease.I really like the Trivia questions, it makes me feel good when I get 100% and I LEARN from it when I get a question wrong.THIS IS A REALLY GOOD SITE !!

    Jesus to Peter,

Very well said! Matthew 16:18 is one of the great verses in the bible, and probably one of the most debated verse in the bible, so we'll just skip it. No, just kidding! I would like to give a little extra thought on what you mentioned. Jesus says thou art PETROS (referring to Peter), and upon this PETRA (referring to Himself), I will build my church. You have properly stated the meaning of PETROS and PETRA, one being a small stone (Peter), and the other being a massive stone or foundational slab (Christ).

But here's something I find fascinating in this section of scripture. Where Jesus says thou art Peter, the word "this" in "upon this rock," that's what is called in Greek the Near Demonstrative. What that means is that Jesus was pointing to Himself when He said upon this rock.

But something else I find interesting is that when Jesus said I will build my church, I see two things in the phrase "I will build my church." First of all, He says "I will build." And secondly, He says "My church." Did you catch that? It is the Lord's church. He is still the head of the church.

But I also kind of regress for a moment, because notice that He says "I" will build my church. Some people think that this is our job to build the church. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is not our job!

It says at the end of Chapter 2 in the book of Acts that the disciples (The new believers), they would get together and study the doctrine of the apostles, and pray and break bread together, and the (Lord added) to the church daily such as should be saved. It is His church. It is His work. He does it. We are the only the instruments.

Again, amen to what you shared. I completely agree and just wanted to add some of my own thoughts on the subject.

Hi Jake, I am not sure that this has been completely fulfilled yet. Israel is re-established as a nation, but there as not been widespread repentance and conversion among the Israelites-both Jews and other tribes. They have not ALL been gathered back from all ends of the earth yet. So, I think that this will be fulfilled near the end times or during the 1000 year reign of Christ.
  • GiGi - In Reply on Matthew 28 - 4 years ago
Faith, I agree. I believe the church began with Jesus' ministry at the time of His baptism when He called his first disciples. At Pentecost, the church existed already with the apostles and disciples gathered there in obedience to Jesus instructions. Jesus, before is ascension, before Pentecost, re-taught His disciples all that He had taught them before His crucifixion and resurrection. He opened up the Scriptures from the books of Moses' on to that present time to teach them about Himself. He was teaching His church at this time. He prayed for them at His Last Supper. They were the church then, breaking bread with him and drinking the wine of Communion. The church started with Jesus during His life on earth, in my opinion.

Catherine, I am glad to hear that you attend a church that, like so many others we attend, is vibrantly following Jesus, our Lord. God is building is church throughout the ages. Everyone in Christ is different in as far as fellowship needs and I believe that God does draw each of us into the fellowship where we can grow and contribute.

Yes this is the Scripture reference for this common phrase. But it does say that the calf and the young lion and the fatling together. Maybe the fatling is a lamb.

    Good day, Lynn

To answer your question, no, God's eye cannot be in a place where His presence is not. But as I have said before, He really does not have eyes or a body. these terms were used in the Bible so we, as humans can understand Him better, since in His pure Spirit, He is incomprehensible. In using such terms he his condescending to our perspective to reach us, since we cannot reach Him in our own creatureliness.

Claudette A few small things I consider miracles, no two snow flakes are alike! Every star in all the constellations

have specific God Given names. Certain sea shells have the sound of an echo chamber like waves coming out of them.

All tidal waves around the world are run by earths seasonal rotation and the sound of waves is very peaceful and

soothing to mans mind. There is a caterpillar in Alaska that in winter its body literally freezes and in spring thaw comes

back to life! We should always be in absolute awe and respect of our Fathers Handiwork the greatest of these being

    His Perfect Word.

    Hi Donna.

Malachi 3:16. Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance WAS WRITTEN BEFORE HIM FOR THEM THAT FEARED THE LORD, AND THAT THOUGHT UPON HIS NAME.

THEM THAT FEARED THE LORD AND

    THAT THOUGHT UPON HIS NAME!!.

When you put it context with verses 1-15 you see the proud and wicked of Jacob "Israel" tempt God and think that they could get by with it.

    Malachi 3:1-15.

Here in verse 16 I think you have a remnant that feared the LORD and thought/Considered the LORD in service.

    16) Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it.....

And a book of remembrance was written of them.

FOR THEM THAT FEARED THE LORD, AND THAT THOUGHT UPON HIS NAME

    God bless

This is what I understand to be true after doing a little reading in my study bible.

The Davidic kingdom to be restored by Christ : it's character and extent

Isaiah 11 This chapter is a prophetic picture of the glory of the future kingdom, which will be set up when David's son returns in glory.

    Luke 1: 31-32; Acts 15:15-16

Isaiah 11:9 -10 They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain,

For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD

    As waters cover the sea.

"And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse,

    Who shall stand as a banner to the people;

For the Gentiles shall seek Him,

And His resting place shall be glorious."

How Crist will set up the kingdom

    Isaiah 11:11-12

It shall come to pass in that day

That the LORD shall set His hand again the second time

    To recover the remnant of

    His people who are left,

    From Assyria and Egypt,

    From Pathros and Cush,

    From Elam and Shinar,

From Hamath and the islands of the sea. He will set up a banner for the nations,

And will assemble the outcasts of Israel,

And gather together the dispersed of Judah

From the four corners of the earth.

    Habakkuk 2:14

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD As waters cover the sea.

Zechariah 12:8 "In that day the LORD will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the LORD before them."

    The moral characteristics of the kingdom are to be righteousness and peace. The meek, not the proud , will inherit the earth; longevity will be greatly increased; the knowledge of the LORD will be universal;

    beast-ferocity will be removed;

absolute equity will be enforced; and open sin will be visited with instant judgement; whereas the enormous majority of earth's inhabitants will be saved Psalms 2:9; Isaiah 11:4,6-9; 26:9; 65:20; Zacharia 14:16-21

The NT Revelation 20:1-5 adds a detail of immence significance

Time will show us what or who this is as God's culmination of history unfolds. We are to be ready for Him to return at anytime, and be about the business of His kingdom until then. So, for me, I live day by day with Him and let Him be the revealer of all these things in their due time. I focus on whom He has brought into my life to share the words of life with and to help in their time of need. I aim to live a quiet and godly life in these wicked times. Our witness to others is so vital in redeeming the time God gives us to do His will here. So, for me, it is important to be a doer of the word and not just a hearer. James 1:22.

    Yes, Manuel,

Jesus is the Perfect One to accomplish all that was needed for our salvation. Perfect humanity to fulfill the Law, to shed His blood for our atonement, to die in our place; perfect divinity to bear all of our sins and absorb all of the wrath of God for our sinfulness, to defeat the devil and death, to raise himself up on the third day, and to receive back the glory He had before the incarnation in union with the Father and the Holy Spirit. I don't think we can every fully comprehend the amazing mystery of the incarnation of God in Jesus. But we can know that being human, He connects with us. And being God He connects us to the Godhead. So, we are very loved and privileged to have been drawn to Him by the Father, united to Him by the Spirit, and thoroughly redeemed to God by Him.

    Good day, Jude,

If you go back to verse 3:3, this text section is describes God manifesting Himself for people to observe. I think that the "horns" are rays of radiance, as the word horns is translated "rays" in the NIV version.

In Mathew 16 is a great record of jesus Christ talking to Peter or Cephas in regards to who he was and

what he was going to build. Starting verse 13 who do men say that I am, then in verse 16 Peter as always was his up

and down bold nature said thou art the Christ the son of the living God. Then Jesus said blessed art thou because

flesh and blood has not shown you this, the same with us. Then verse 18 Thou art Peter which means a stone

or pebble but talking about Himself upon this rock [petra large immovable rock or boulder]I will build my church

ekklesia[that which is called out] and the gates of hell won't prevail against it. Showing that He was going to be

head of the body of believers and the Chief cornerstone.

  • God knows Everything - In Reply on Luke 1 - 4 years ago
Omniscience is one of God's immutable attributes, which is to say, all knowledge of all things is an inherent part of His character and being. Nothing is outside of God's sphere of knowledge. The word "omniscient" is defined as having infinite awareness, understanding and insight; it is universal and complete knowledge.

God's omniscience means that He can never learn anything new. Nothing can surprise Him or take Him unaware. He is never blind-sided! You will never hear God say, "I didn't see that coming!" or "Who would have thought?" A firm belief in God's omniscience gives the Christ-follower extraordinary peace, security, and comfort in every area of life.

    Amos 8:12

And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

    Job 2:2

And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

    2 Chronicles 16:9

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

God has knowledge of everything occurring at any given time. We ask, well why did He allow this and that to happen?!

He gifted us free will, to make decisions that glorify Him and not us. Glorify Jesus. Welcome the Holy Spirit to help us become more like Jesus.

We have technology to tell us daily what is happening all over the earth: weather, wars, economy, disasters, Everything.

As His children we ought to ask the Lord our questions and then leave it with Him. By reading the Bible, cover to cover, almost all of our questions will be answered. If you ask Him a question, be prepared to sit in silence before Him and, WAIT UPON THE LORD. Open up dialog with Him. Be willing to accept the no's with the yes's.

    You, "Google Malachi 3:16 Commentaries"

I like the "Bible study tools" link

God has a book of Remembrance in which it is recorded what believers talk about. Our conversations which each other will please, or be a displeasure.

It reminds ME to take control of what comes out of my mouth. Faith or Faithlessness; condemnation or prayer that situations will improve, if I be patient and wait on God, etc.

If I speak negative, I hear it with spiritual ears; and I counter that with truth and words of faith.

Angels are writing in the Book. Wouldn't it be great to read a book someone wrote about us_ saying and doing things that bless and do not curse?

Sometimes I am my worst critic.

Hiya Dan GBU.....Yes Peter was a great man of God ,But God is no respector of persons...Its the H.G. that is the Man of Promise...The Israel of God . The gift of God....We are all the same we must All be bornagain of an incorruptible seed as Peter tells us...

Our old man is in rank with satan which is our old adamic nature....1 st Peter 1 : 23 Being born again of an incorruptible seed which are the words of the new covenant, A much a greater covenant then John's water baptism...Jesus refers to Peter 1 time as Satan before he was converted....The man of the hour is the H.G. Our King, and kingdom thats is born

within us...He is the result of the CROSS the Blood of the lamb. But he has to be born in us via us hearing the words of our lord .Today if you will hear his voice etc...His words are the good seeds. It was when he breath on them they received the H.G...As his breath was his words which are his seeds producing a birth of Christ in us that Child of Promise Which is the multiplication of Christ in humanity the H.G....As the H.G. was not yet given freely till after the CROSS....Meaning after he was glorified the 1s time after Pentacost the H.G was born in their hearts that Child of Promise, But the seed were sown in the upper room when he said b/c i have spoken these WORDS ( HIS BREATH ) SORROWS HAVE FILLED YOUR HEARTS a spritual Pregnancy....But the Child didn't come till Pentacost some 50 days later....i.e there has to be gestation in the spritual realm for the H.G. to be born in us....I think that is y he is saying

That which is born of the spirit is spirit which is our new innerman the H.G...His breath was his word which is Spirit

Thats y he has to know us...Thats when that good seed is sown in us sinners...That was the result of the CROSS

SMITE THE Sheppard and the sheep will be scattered then i will turn my hand to the lil ONES....His Children that are gonna be born in us...The babes and the sucklings are his offspring.....Isaiah said he wd see his seed.
