    Hello Bill,

Thank you for bringing those scriptures forward. I look forward to that day. I am 65 and may not be alive wen this happens, but will be one that is raised from the dead. But then again, it may happen in my lifetime. Each day, week, year that passes does bring us closer to that wonderful day when Jesus appears to claim His bride and rule and reign on earth.

So, we probably be prepared spiritually for it as much as we are able to be sanctified in this life by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we are exhorted to not resist the Holy Spirit and what He wants to accomplish in us in this life to serve and help others lovingly, and to prepare us for when our time in eternity begins.

    Hello,

You have to believe the gospel and put all your trust (believe) in the Lord Jesus for your salvation, its that simpel.

    The Gospel:

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep

    1 Thessalonians 4:17

"Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

    John 14

2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

What did god mean when he said "honor thy father and mother so that their days may be long on the land that god has given us?
  • Adam - In Reply - 4 years ago
Hello, as per your question the Bible doesn't say you "don't have to" be baptized. It says you do, but of course we have freewill to choose who we want to follow in this life- and whether to do good or evil.

Here is Jesus's command to His followers: John 3:5

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

So, the real question is: if someone claims to be a Jesus follower (a Christian), but doesn't follow what Jesus says, how serious are they about following Jesus? And do they really love Jesus? John 14:15.

Would a genuine Christ follower always be looking to do the bare minimum they assume is required to "be saved" -or- give everything in their life to Christ, perhaps beyond what they assume is required?

Matthew 7:22 - this seems to be an unpopular reality for some believers who are uncomfortable with Jesus's words that many will assume they're "saved" but will not be. Given this scenario already predicted by Jesus, and given that someone desires to go to heaven, is it safer to obey Jesus or look for ways to disobey Him?

    God bless...

    Kristiannna,

There is no place in the bible that tells us that we don't have to be baptized, conversely, there is much scripture that tells us that we do need to be baptized.

In addition to believing in Jesus to be saved, we are told by Jesus to be baptized.

    John 3:5

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

Except we be born of water and the Spirit (Holy Spirit) we can not enter into the kingdom of God! This is a very powerful and easy to understand message.

Apostle Peter also confirms baptism below, so we must repent, be baptized, and we will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

    Acts 2:38

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

In summary, the bible scripture clearly states what we must do regarding regarding baptism. If anyone says different, they are lying, and telling you to ignore this and other powerful scripture!

    God Bless.

Hi Donna, I have not as of yet. When the Lord leads me to do so on the testimony page, I will. I have posted some responses that recall some of the amazing things that God has done in my life, but I don't tend to do that much. I prefer to share what I have learned from a lifetime of walking with the Lord. I am 65 and have known Jesus all of my life. I so wanted to only know the truth that I began reading the Bible for myself at age 9 because I knew that it was the true words of God. From then on I continued to pray to God to show me what is true about Him and spiritual matters.

Funny thing, I stopped reading fiction at that time (5th grade) because I only wanted to read what is true. I instead read non-fiction-science books, biographies, encyclopedias, dictionary, besides the Bible. Not saying this as a recommendation, because I kind of missed out on many classic children's novels of the time. Some of them I eventually read as an adult training to be a teacher or as a mom. But I know that God put this desire for "the truth, and noting but the truth" in me and He as guided me and guarded me over the years so that I was not readily sucked into the newest "fad" idea in church circles over the years. I was raised in a traditional mainline church. In college and beyond my husband and I participated in Assemblies of God and Four Square church fellowships until the late 1990's. then God led us into a Covenant church for a while, and then we were called back to my husband's roots in a conservative Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, which we still have some affiliation with, although covid has kept us pretty much homebodies because I have 5 high risk factors. I have had times were I was involved in regular church fellowship and times when I was "in between" for a 5-7 years at a time. In all of these circumstances, God has been faithful to stay with me and lead me in the right paths. My life over all would sound pretty boring to most people. But I am fine with that.

Can you know a person by his word without seeing their actions in life? I have been speaking to this man who I have not dated. Thanks for the reminder! I'll pull up that song on you tube and use it to pray for my sons to be revived to faith.

Pray for Israel hard. Millions of tons are falling on them.

Days ago the Pope visited to strongly push Israel to give ALL OF THE WEST BANK land to the Palestinians. God gave the land to Israel forever, in a covenant with Abraham (and Sarah). Ishmael is not in the land covenant. He was blessed separately.

If Israel does thisthere will be GREAT trouble.

what happens in Israel affects everybody.

I think that whatever God has determined will be our "estate" (abode) in eternity will be glorious and beyond whatever we could imagine. The godly things we most enjoyed here on earth may be part of that, maybe something even better/ There really is no end or limit to what God could include in our eternity to awe us and "take our breath away". All of our relationships will be holy and wholly satisfying. Our closeness and intimacy with our Lord will be as perfect as it could ever be.

I love the thought of this! What an amazing hope we have in Jesus.

The tithe is out of obedience. God promises to rebuke the devourer. Offerings are separate. Write on the envelope who/what it goes to.

I keep a list of Benevolence Organizations, Food Pantry Locations. Many Catholic Churches sponsor those (fresh meat & veggies). I give money to those organizations so people can eat; get clothes and shoes.

Everybody in the church helps, by bringing donations of items.

If someone rings my bell, I steer them to one or more of benevolence ministries. I have copies of locations and numbers to hand out. I would do the same thing with my neighbors. The Bible warns that familiarity breeds contempt; and you're there. Don't be their source again. Find those who do it for a job.

I hope you'll recover from thoughtlessness done to you as a new Christian. God withholds blessings as long as you hold others in unforgiveness. Forgive and the record books will show zero balance.

If my neighbors are moving heavy stuff and ask to use my truck__I suggest U-Haul Pickups for 19.99 a day. Just smile and close the door softly.

By forgiving them, God forgives you and the heals those wounds on your soul. If Satan tries to dig up those memories__just say out loud, "how about this Devil ! It's all under the Blood of Jesus now. Go talk to Him." Say as often as needed. :)

You'll be free! Which is Gods Will for all of us.

I worked in Benevolence 2 years. I gave my time and donations to it. Worked out great.

    7) sprinkling water on babies inducting them into some covenant?

    8) sprinkling water on babies inducting them into their parent's custody that they promise to raise them right? {into Mass Confusion?}

    9) sprinkling water on babies, admitting that their ritual is UNscriptural, but "we do it anyway, because it is OUR tradition!"?

    10) pouring water onto babies or adults for Whatever traditional reason religion "can come up with"?

    11) immersion of young and middle-aged women 'similar' to worldly/ungodly 'wet t-shirt' contests?

John chapter 3 is Jesus saying Nicodemus must be born again to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit, who is your Teacher. You ask Him to teach you about Jesus.

    I'd Google HOLY SPIRITS MINISTRY.

This website, out on the red link page has one named: Become A Believer. It has baptisms on it. A lot of info in one place.

Baptism is really personal; between you and Jesus. I helped baptize people in swimming pools. It's not a show. It's a holy moment between you and your Savior.

Please pray that God would prepare me now and provide me with my own place of living. I am asking that God would give me way more than enough finances, wisdom, and provision in order to move forward from my current living situation with no issues. I trust that The Lord knows the desires of my heart and will provide the perfect place and more for me. Asking that you would please be in agreement with me in prayer for when the time comes that there will be no hassle nor issues in moving forward. I am wanting to be totally and completely financially free and independent with no restraints and no ties to anyone, but God. Please pray for an explosion of abundance in blessings, prosperity, finances, and wisdom for me regarding these things. Thanks so much!
  • Praying over DEAD DRY BONES - In Reply - 4 years ago
This is what I use when praying over dead situations of any sort; including nations.

Pray by the authority in the name of Jesus.

    EZEKIEL 37

9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

Now, you add your heart burden to this prayer.

The first time I was led to this chapter and opened my mouth and shouted it, I was nearly slain in the spirit it was so powerful. It still is.

Intercession is powerful warfare! I don't know if y'all got anything out of that movie: WAR ROOM??

One old lady in a prayer closet is as mighty as Samson knocking pillars together. You stay at it until you get a good report.

Evil returns to see if you really meant all that stuff you said? Or they just wait for you to give up and wander over to the hypnotizing television.

I have a copy of an Angel Adams photo in my bedroom. It's a photo of DEATH VALLEY__that I call the Valley of Dry Bones. It has 3 huge mountains in the background.

To me, those are spiritually dead bodies of people living without Jesus. Jew, Gentile, Casual Christians, those who are blinded by False Religions, Practicians of occult and sorcery (drugs). I have a list.

When you get through binding, you have to release captives, the spiritually blind, deaf. Christians who are afraid to say Praise the Lord or Jesus loves you, out loud. You have to ASK God if He would send a million angels to those countries to beat back the demons from off those who are ready to hear the Gospel. May God help them to hear the Bible wherever they go: radio, tv, youtube etc. Pray for Christians to invite their drugged out boozey friends to go to church with them next Sunday.

Time is running out to do something loud, outrageous for the glory of God, and Lord Jesus! Don't be scared. Holy Spirit will give you the words to speak. Yes He will.

Lemme tell ya what Faith really is, Its the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen, Its a pregnancy in the spritual realm, When we have real faith we have a baby Christ in us that no body can see but we know what we have simply b/c we have a living spirit with in us.

Sarahs Faith resulted in a living CHILD ISSAC that Child of Promise....But Faith under the new covenant is gonna result in a baby Christ in us via that good seed the living WORD, that Child

of Promise, Thats what the great Promise was all about the multiplication of Christ via his seed

the WORD,...Thats y Jesus said that which is born of the spirit tis spirit which is our new innerman ....It was God Almighty that swore by himself that Christ wd be multiplied as the stars of heaven, Thus the sower and his precious seed that is gonna form a baby Christ in us which is the Child of Promise . Gestation in the spritual realm ....Thus the Promise of the H.G.

When Jesus said behold i send the Promise of my Father upon you that was MULTIPLICATION the heavenly birth, He is gonna multily himself with his seed the word

of the H.G.....He is truly able to multiply himself with his seed in humanity......Just like God did in Mary .But what does Jesus say about his Mother . He asked who is my Mother, Them that hear the word his seed and keeps it resulting in gestation in our hearts....He wants everybody to be bornagain of his seed the Word ( the living word ) . Now you know what Faith really is...Its THE BEGINNING OF A BIRTH.
  • Galatians 3__Gentiles we're grafted into the Tree - In Reply on John 19 - 4 years ago
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

24 Wherefore the law was our SCHOOLMASTER to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

26 For ye are all the children of God BY FAITH in Christ Jesus.

27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, AND HEIRS according to the promise.
