Christians such as myself tend to forget that Satan is the prince of this world. This is a powerful understanding if we want to live our lives for Christ the Lord who defeated Satan on the cross. Jesus wiped away our sin debt and crushed the head of that serpent Satan overcoming death and hell, so that you and I will live victorious Eternal Life. No more sin or pain or sorrow can be found in the New Jerusalem. No more sun, moon or stars because the Father's Glory will be our Light! How exciting even though this earthly life is full of trials we know it is temporary. May the Joy of knowing and loving Jesus as our Lord and Savior, make us anticipate Christ's soon return for we His children. Heal here of mental illness. Help her son learn to deal with these things in a positive way. Holy Spirit intervene and bring Your power to this situation to overcome all of the thoughts and temptations that can harm these people. If You determine that he should not watch sports anymore, help him to overcome temptations. If you determine that he can watch some sports but not all that he would be tempted to watch, teach him how to say "no" and "yes" at the right opportunities, according to Your will. Hello Shaarei. You're referring to James 1:17 & also to Wesley's notes to it. Wesley does agree to, "Father of Lights". But in his explanation further, he states, 'Father of ALL light', which applies to "the material or spiritual, in the kingdom of grace & glory". I can accept that God's Light is so great & all-consuming, that nothing, whether of matter or spirit, can escape its reach & penetration.

"with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning". God can never change or can have anyone change Him; nor can He cast a shadow (as one's shadow would fall to a surface & move according to the sun's position), because God doesn't move from Who He is & what He does. That is my understanding & Wesley states, "In God is nothing of this kind", meaning, though He is Light & the Creator of all the light we see in the heavens, the effect of that light in the heavens that impacts our lives to some degree, has no impact on God, even if God should stand under its glow. I don't see that Wesley has said anything contradictory - given that no one person would fully agree with another on some of these interpretations & the thoughts & expressions also affect what we read.

Lord Jesus, We lift up this person's request to You tonight in prayer. We trust You, Lord, to answer in the best way. Lord, work in this relationship so that it has a favorable outcome. Guide this person's plans for 2022 and day to day. Bestow wisdom and trust in You so that all of this person's plans will work out for his/her good and for Your glory. We pray this in Jesus' name. Lord, Jesus, I bring Lyn and her family and friends who felt that they needed to leave the church that they had served you in. help them in this loss. It hurts to be betrayed by members of your family, Lord. Lead these folks to a new church family where they will be taught sound doctrine from the pulpit, in Sunday School, Bible Study, and from others in the church. Heal up their torn hearts and assist them in loving and forgiving those they left in the former church family. Allow Lyn and her family and friends to know You are nearer to them than they realize and are willing to comfort and fill them up wit your love and grace. Lord plant them in a new church family soon. Lord, I pray for Ezekiel, please heal him of his breathing problems tonight. I pray for Lyn, that You will fill her thoughts and You will remind her that her past is forgiven. Hi Terri. We all face repercussions, to varying degrees, from time to time. Is your husband saved, or how does he take the backlash that others pour upon you? If he is on side, others will witness the resolve you both have to stand on God's Word. But if you're alone in this & undoubtedly feeling the pressure, rest assured that you have clearly stated your belief & that belief rests on God's Word. You don't need to nag them over & over again - the Word has come to them, you are blessed for issuing them the warning, now let God's Spirit 'nag' their hearts, that they might one day be convicted & be saved.

I don't believe that it's a curse to strongly warn someone of their behaviour or their accountability before God. If that's the case, we won't have a Gospel to preach. A curse would be the words one uses & manner of delivery that puts the other person under some type of curse that will come from God. People certainly don't want to hear, 'You'll burn in hell', even if they don't believe in God (I've always thought that to be very strange).

You have stood your ground & there is blessing & proof of your devotion to the Lord & deep concern for wayward sinful souls. Leave them alone, pray for them (Adam has given some good verses of encouragement), & continue to be a strong quiet witness of the Lord's Grace. My concern would be more for your husband & kids - they must truly be convinced of your Christian witness, both in the home & in sharing with unbelievers.
