Dear Lord Jesus, Thank You for making Barbara a child of God and a sister in You to me. Please guide her in her daily walk with You. She so wants to please You. Open the hearts of her family members to be receptive to You in the gospel and in the way she lives before them. We ask all of this in Your name, Jesus, because you alone are our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Lord Jesus, we lift up David and Kristie before you. You know their needs. Please supply them richly. I pray for Gary, that his kidneys and their functioning will improve to where he will not need interventions. I pray for David's co-workers, that your gospel of salvation will go out to each of them and that your Spirit will prepare their hearts to receive you.

Lord, thank you for healing Deanna and for guiding the surgery on this young babe. We Praise You for your tender care and mighty power to delivers us. All this we leave in Your hands, Jesus. Amen.

    Dear Florida Mom,

You are on the right path there, girl! The Spirit will lead you. I think that reading Acts and the four gospels is really a great strategy at this point. You will learn anew of Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit. You will draw nearer to our Father as His beloved child. I pray that you will grow in leaps and bounds.

Hi Den Also notice that in Genesis God only created 3 Times every place else its says God said let or God called

or god made or God saw or God blessed. Just some interesting stuff to think about!
  • David - In Reply - 4 years ago
Hi Den First only God can create because biblically to create is to bring something into existence that never

existed before, I.E. He spoke and it came into being to be made is to take things that already exist and produce

something with it. Paintings are made, food is a product of soil seed air water things which already exist.

What is the difference between God 'made' and 'created' as it refers to the creation story in Genesis 1?
  • Rick - In Reply - 4 years ago
Florida Mom In my experience and understanding of Gods word its all good its for your private prayer

life and the interpretation part is strictly in a believers gathering for the inspiration of others. All things of the

spirit understood correctly are done decent and in order. It will do wonderful things It for you including get you really

peaceful on the inside spiritually. It's a big deal because the Apostle Paul said to an entire assembly that

he thanked God he spoke in tongues more than all of them. Also on the day of Pentecost Gods Word says that

Acts 2:11 That they were speaking the wonderful works of God, I didn't write the book I just believe and do.

Remember this Philippians 2:13 For it is God energizing you to do His good will and pleasure,

it is a manifestation of the spirit in you to bless your walk in Him.

I was reading your post. This may be a weird question, but is it possible to pray silently in tongues? I have been spending time in prayer and words that I don't know came to mind as I was praying. I have never spoken in tongues and have no experience with that spiritual gift. I went to church growing up, but over the past six months I have been really studying the Bible. I still have so much to learn. I appreciate any information or experience anyone else has with this. I was always taught in church that you should not speak in tongues unless you have an interpreter. No one at church ever spoke in tongues. (Grew up in a very conservative church). I feel like the church has forgotten the gifts and the power of the Holy Ghost.

A few months ago I was praying to the Lord about that status of our world and he pressed upon me "Do not be afraid I will not forsake thee." I feel so much peace and gratitude. Thanks in advance for any scripture suggestions or experiences with this. I have started reading ACTS again and Mark, Matthew, Luke and John.

Alex. Your two comments are long & would require a lot of unnecessary space to deal with each point. But to take up one of those points: "4 Times in johns Gospel he Jesus said he wd raise them up the last day . How cd he do that unless it was by his spirit that is poured out on everybody THE LAST DAY WHICH IS THE DAY WE ARE IN NOW."

This belief of yours, I would say, is typical of how you interpret Scripture. In John's Gospel, this phrase appears in John 6:39,40,44,54 (I believe these are the verses you refer to). You've obviously read them but since you want to believe that all will be raised to live forever with the Lord (in that coming day), that these verses apply to everyone. But did you not read also: "all which he hath GIVEN ME I should lose nothing"; "that every one which seeth the Son, and BELIEVETH ON HIM"; "the Father which hath sent me DRAW HIM"; "WHOSO EATETH MY FLESH, AND DRINKETH MY BLOOD". What is the thought in those portions? Are you unable to see the common thread running through the verses, that Jesus was speaking about those who are found IN CHRIST (those GIVEN, those who BELIEVE, those being DRAWN by God, those who partake in the merits of Christ's Sacrifice). None of these Truths can ever be applied to the sinful, unbelieving, ungodly of this world nor of the world to come.

As far as I can recall, you never speak of having faith when coming to Christ & to be justified by God ( Ephesians 2:8: God's grace plus our faith = salvation). I wonder why that is. Maybe, it would negate your belief that all people will eventually be saved, because faith in Christ's redemptive work can only apply now, or else it's no longer 'faith'. Also, you don't write about Satan & his evil spirits also getting redeemed & enjoying holiness of life - after all you will quote verses such as Revelation 5:13 which should support your belief. Alex, please read & understand the Scriptures as given ("rightly dividing the Word"), & not try to re-write the Holy Bible.

This may seem like a strange question, but I was praying silently the other night and in my mind words that I didn't know were coming out in prayer. I felt close to God as I was praying. Is it possible to pray in tongues silently? I have never spoke in tongues before. I have really been studying the word and learning everything I can in the Bible. I was never taught about the holy ghost in church and always taught you should not speak in tongues unless you have an interpreter. I am reading the book of Acts and about spiritual gifts. I appreciate any knowledge anyone may have about this.

John 3, has everything you need to get started.

After receiving Jesus as your Lord, Then He baptises you with the promise of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

One of Holy Spirits ministry is to be your Teacher in all things concerning Jesus. He helps you to pray rightly. He helps you to understand what you read in the Bible.

When we are new in Jesus we may not be ready to receive speaking in tongues. It is for to rest in Jesus, and be His beloved child.

To fast track what the Holy Spirit does, it may be easier to Google: Ministry of the Holy Spirit to Believers.

He gives the gifts and operations as you are ready to receive them. It also means quieting yourself, and just sitting before Him; in an attitude of quiet and listening. You may think of a Church song you love: sing it. "Enter His gates with praise."

A barrier to hearing, is the constant pollution of a tv on in the background. We do that because we don't like our thought life. Holy Spirit is not going to shout revelation, over the noise of the world from tv. He waits for us to quiet ourselves.

Songs I may sing to Jesus: Nothing But the Blood of Jesus; Jesus Loves Me; I have decided to follow Jesus; I walk the line by Johnny Cash. Be Exalted,O God.

[Praise songs will fire up prayer life]

God inhabits our praises and angels hearken to our praises and spoken scriptures.

    One of my favorites!

The story about how Paul floated in from a shipwreck. They built a fire to get dry. A snake slithers out of the fire and bites Paul.

A rare super deadly variety of snake.

He knew what the scriptures say" no deadly thing" So everyone is huddled and waiting for Paul to keel over, but he didn't. God protected him.

    Hi Spencer,

I know that you found this thread unpleasant, as you said that you hate that you ran across it.

    I get that.

For me, I don't get nearly as bothered by conversations on here about things in the news as I do about reading on this here bible forum so much biblical error, false teaching, and apostasy as i have read just in a few months I have been on here. This is what really disturbs me, but I read anyway and pray to God ow I am to respond. I choose to speak what I know to be truth into tis forum. I may be wrong at times, too. and I would hope someone would try to correct me. But I am certainly not shy about taking someone to task on a post that I think speaks untruths about God (wo He is and what He has done), man (who he is and what he has done) ,How God deals with man, matters concerning salvation. Many other topics, I am more open for difference of opinions, but i am not one to let perceived error stand.

Have a good day in Jesus today, Spencer

    Adam,

These are distressing times. Those who are rebellious to God are trying to overthrow Him at every turn. We, as believers, need to stand strong in our faith and firm in our convictions to honor His way with our godly living. We know where we are headed and sadly, where the rebellious are headed.

I have been considering Isaiah5:20 for about 40 years or so when I really saw a turn in our societal norms. It is the "senior" generation in our society that really began to challenge moral norms on a large scale back in the 60's and 70's and we have reaped what we have sown in the degradation of our families, neighborhoods, communities, politics, and in the church family.

Back then, those of us who stayed the course could speak out about God's way and our opposition to current moral trends without much unpleasant recourse. But today, it is a completely different story. People can be ostracized, can lose friends, jobs, etc. over voicing their opinion according to our first amendment.

I think that we, whether we are in the last days or not, should begin preparing ourselves to be persecuted and or even martyred for our faith in Jesus. I kind of think this is coming soon to our country. It has existed in other countries for some time, especially in countries controlled by Islamic adherents. With this said, I would like to know how we prepare for this? How do we network for people to assist others, to escape harmful situations, to sustain ourselves physically if resources are cut off. I know that we may need to do so, just as those in the early church age needed to do during the times of persecution. So, I would love to find out more about what others are connected to in regards to this. I want to be prepared to take someone in who is trying to escape harm, or supply needed things to people who have been stripped of their ability to provide for themselves or families.

In society we're seeing a lot of evil called good, and good called evil. Criminals are being rewarded in our justice system, for example. People who loot, assault others, commit crimes for a 'cause' are generally let go with no punishment, while people who try to defend themselves against evil are now prosecuted. Invaders are even paid by certain hidden programs to invade their own country in order to accomplish a certain ideological objective. Money is being stolen from citizens to pay for these ideological partisan programs through government mass printing money to devalue everyone's currency. As if people weren't already financially struggling through recent events, now the government is stealing from innocent people.

It occurred to me that the Bible has predicted this.

    Isaiah 5:20

And I found some other verses explaining what we're currently experiencing in society.

2 Timothy 4:3 - this explains the rampant propaganda in the media today. Many peddling lies aren't even as ashamed to be caught doing it anymore and believe the end justifies the means. It turns out their end is not truth, but their religious political objective. To many it is their political ideology is their religion and is their false god they worship.

2 Peter 2:1 - false teachers. In the last 12 months I've heard more false teachings than ever before. Huge attacks on Christianity coming from all angles, even deceived Christians. Amazingly distorted views of God, the Bible, sin, morality, and all kinds of things that are very creative and almost clever in how distorted it is. It turns out there's much pressure to conform to the world's version of morality and some seek to bend God's morals in order to fit the world's morals rather than the other way around, despite Romans 12:2. The Bible and God's morals haven't changed, only some people do.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 - warns about end times.

Folks, I believe we are entering the end times. The time to get right with God is running out. May God's blessings be on everyone here.

    Wesley's Notes for Matthew 5:3

    Commentary

5:3 Happy are the poor - In the following discourse there is, A sweet invitation to true holiness and happiness, ver. 3-12. # Matt 5:3-12. A persuasive to impart it to others, ver. 13 - 16. # Matt 5:13-16. A description of true Christian holiness, ver. 17; chap.vii,12, # Matt 5:17; Matt 7:12. (in which it is easy to observe, the latter part exactly answers the former.) The conclusion: giving a sure mark of the true way, warning against false prophets, exhorting to follow after holiness. The poor in spirit - They who are unfeignedly penitent, they who are truly convinced of sin; who see and feel the state they are in by nature, being deeply sensible of their sinfulness, guiltiness, helplessness. For theirs is the kingdom of heaven - The present inward kingdom: righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost, as well as the eternal kingdom, if they endure to the end. # Luke 6:20

    Hi MJ, God Bless.

I agree with you and I have family members who are in this lifestyle and it is always uncomfortable for me to be around them and their "spouses" at family gatherings. I keep interactions to a minimum outside of these gatherings. I do not wish to give them the impression that I think that their lifestyle is o.k. with me. I will always act lovingly and kind around them, but, since we all were brought up as believers and taught correctly about sexuality, they have pursued the desires of their hearts and flesh, and these do not have the approval of God in any way.

It is somewhat difficult to explain this viewpoint in the public arena these days as the going sentiment is to not say anything that would be judgmental to anyone or make someone "uncomfortable". (not thinking that we may be "uncomfortable" with the lifestyle of some that intersect with our lives.)

Alex, the word of God nowhere says that we become pregnant by God so we can birth the Holy Spirit in us. At conversion we are reborn by the Holy Spirit who regenerates us from being spiritually dead to God to being spiritually alive to God. The Holy Spirit changes us from an enemy of God to a child of God. We are transformed by the Holy Spirit as a result of the Holy Spirit coming into us to dwell. We do not birth the Holy Spirit. What is reborn is our own self, not the holy Spirit. he is eternal Spirit without genesis.

Your continual posting about this supposed pregnancy and birthing of a christ child or Holy Ghost in us is filled with errors interpretation and biblical application.
