    That is right, Chris.

    Have a good night.

Well, first of all, I was responding to the post by Adam on this topic. I did not initiate the conversation.

Secondly, I am aware that there are those on the site who listen without responding and I care about what they hear.

Thirdly, I don't think that talking about matters happening around us is off limits for this site. We should be concerned about how things go in our society and pray for situations that are concerning us, which is what Adam brought up in the first post on this subject.

Fourthly, I don't preach from a pulpit as I am not in such a position to do so.

Lastly, yes I would investigate it if it was alleged that a civilian had killed a cop and I was concerned that the civilian may be wrongfully accused.

If you don't wish to follow what is happening in the news, that is you perogative. If speaking about such matters is inappropriate on this site, then I would hope that the moderators would advise us not to do so.

I hate the way so many are trying to divide us along racial lines in this country. It is so wrong and unloving to do so.

My prayer is for God to work in our country to overcome these divisions and have us love our neighbors.

Even so, we will always need law enforcement to take care of situations where crime is being committed.

So, I pray for safety for the police officers and for them to work a situation within the guidelines of their training so each person can be treated properly in volatile situations.

Good night. I wish you a good rest.

    Hello RLW,

Thanks again for your response. I am only still on Chapter 2 of my bible study of the book of Daniel. The chronology of events outlined has cleared any assumptions about the possibility that Chapter 1 & 2 may be referencing multiple Kings.

However, the events of the dream (in Chapter 2) was said to have happened in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar (with Daniel already confirmed as one of the wise men) while chapter 1 states that they (Daniel and the others) were presented before the King after three years. Although, I have had more enlightenment by the feedbacks, my primary concern which made me start the conversation has not been addressed. I will be glad if it can be addressed, if not, I will just continue studying and pray.

    Thanks for your help again.

    Best regards,

    Tunji

In terms of idolotry, how does this apply in today's world and application? Understanding that brands and certain consumer choices can go against this as well? tbh, a Target trip and Starbucks is like a trip to Disney Land, 10/10 will go. I try to do my part for the community and supporting businesses and people who align in my interests, and sometimes big branding just doesn't fit the moral application in life at the time. Thank you as aways for your feedback!

I'd never heard of the Two Preacher YT channel. Will look at it & see what is being done around the world. Thanks.

Thank you GiGi. I guess, enough said on this matter, even with the facts you shared & others yet to be considered. Each one can form their opinion on the evidence presented & to know that man will never always get it right; we will always have to live with that uncertainty until the day when all things will come to light & we will then get all the answers, coming directly from the Lord of Truth.

    Hi Sister GiGi.

WOW! I hate I ran across this!

I NEVER followed any of this promoted by the media to divide. Not only Racial but right or wrong.

Here's the issue I have here.

We will never know the intent.

No one is perfect so I have to ask this question when I see a supposed spiritually wise and mature in the faith Christian engage so deeply in something so out of hand like this. Would you preach that from behind the pulpit in front of your mixed congregation and follow it with

    John 7:24.

    2 Timothy 2:4.

My second question to you would be would you go through all that trouble of investigating if that High, covid, black, drug atic would have killed the cop?

By what you have said you seem to be more influenced by the public pushing for a guilty plea for a cop killing a black man than than for righteous Judgement.

I honestly have never said or followed any of this on this case or any other like this. Because of the carnaliy exposed by it.

once before you said you was concerned who might be on this site and here certain things. Is that concern for everyone if you know what I mean.

    God bless and

    Good night.

Yes, brother S. Spencer, I too try to avoid referring to such matters as far as possible, especially on this type of Site. But, it does serve to show the fallibility of man, even the well-informed & skilled amongst the judiciary, who may view such cases in different ways, inconsistent to the Letter of the Law. And that behoves upon us all, whether falsely incarcerated on some matter of the law or for even being a follower of Christ, that we can fully entrust into the Lord's Hands the final outcome here on Earth & that righteous judgement will be meted out in Glory. Jesus declared this Truth in Luke 12:4,5.
  • S Spencer - In Reply - 4 years ago
I think you're spot on Brother Chris.

I believe worldly situations like this brings clarity to what's in the scripture. The Lord says it will be days like this.

It is sad the focus was never on a cop and perpetrator. It immediately became a raciial argument It was horrible to see the Church was even divided by this!

As you said We have a righteous judge in heaven who judges the intent and deep thoughts of man.

Intent thoughts is not visible. So we judge by eye witness. Whether this guy was high on drugs or not apparently he was coherent enough to know what he was saying when he said he can't breathe.

I've never followed on this case or any of the others because it was to racially partial.

I'm disappointed to see this come up here!

I'm sorry but I had to respond.

It reminds me of verse John 7:24.

Spencer, you are probably right on this, since Jesus came from Judah's lineage, and He is the promised Seed.

Well, I finished Genesis. Such a meaningful study. I stated in a prior post that I was going back the the beginning and beginning a journal. I started that a few weeks ago. I have not gotten past Genesis 1:1! This is because I was stopped at the point it said, "In the beginning God.."

I wrote in my journal. God Is... and prayed where God will take me on this. I knew I was to revisit the doctrines of God.

I started with "God Is Simple" and journaled for days!. Finally I have moved to the next aspect I was lead to: God is Self-Existent... I have been studying and journaling on that for the past week.

God is the most amazing being in all of the universe! It is well worth a study, especially if you have not done so before or in a while. Considering His excellencies leads to worship and gratitude. I encourage others here to do this, too!

If you begin googling one aspect of God, articles will usually list other aspects that relate to the one you are considering, so the Spirit can lead you to study many aspects of God in His Being. Fabulous to have the internet for this!

    Good idea, Amy.

Also, get a donut pillow that can be used in the bath to sit on. Fill the bath up to your waist with warm water and epsom salts or baking soda. It will be relaxing as well ash healing.

Take a fiber supplement like Metamusil daily and a stool softener so that you won't need to strain to evacuate your bowels.

It can take a few weeks to get everything back to normal so keep up the regime.

    Hi Sister GiGi.

Great read. I like to add some input on the blessings Jacob gave his sons.

I believe the blessings to Abraham and Issac went through the Lineage of Judah.

    Here's why.

    Genesis 22:18.

    Galatians 3:14.

    Galatians 3:16.

    Now here is Judahs blessing.

Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee.

Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?

THE SCEPTRE SHALL NOT DEPART FROM JUDAH, NOR A LAWGIVER FROM BETWEEN HIS FEET, UNTIL SHILOH COME; AND UNTO HIM SHALL THE GATHERING OF THE PEOPLE BE.

Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:

His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk. Genesis 49:8-12.

Abraham's blessing to Issac was because he was Promised! He was God's doing! We are children of Promise as well.

    Galatians 4:28.

Ishmael was the works of their own hands "Works of the flesh " ( This has a lot of spiritual application )

Here is the Contrast of the two.

    Galatians 4:29-31.

Verse 30 says Issac is the heir this connects him to the promise on through Jacob on Judah to Christ. Revelation 5:5.

What's interesting is Jacob blessing Joseph sons out of order instituting the reverse sovereign order of the firstborn as seen in Romans 9:11-12. Romans 9:11.

("that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;")

I believe we see the contract of Works and Grace, Flesh and Spirit, The narrow gate and the wide gate. And the putting asleep of Abraham when the unconditional covenant was made. All in These verses.

God bless you and Good night.

Hi Chris, I understand where you are coming from. You brought up some other aspects that I did not speak to. I remember seeing the video and they could not handcuff him because he would not put his hands behind his back, so he was still a threat (He was big, strong, and empowered by the effects of the drugs. It is sad that he died in that situation, but I do not think that the police officers di anything to cause his death. I think he brought on his own death from taking 3 times the lethal dose of fetynal, plus the other drugs, and having covid on top of it all. There was a lot that the police did not know about George. They are not trained to medically diagnose a suspect. They are to control the suspect so they can get compliance to get in the car to be taken to the station for booking. They did their job. I ma sure that they are all second guessing themselves about it as anyone would. But none of them intended to injure let alone cause his death.

With that said, the trial and verdict stands until it is overturned by an appeal or no. Some of us here may wish to pray for Derek. Others, not. We can leave it at that.
  • GiGi on Genesis 50 - 4 years ago
And so I come to the end of the book of Genesis! Here in ch. 50 we learn of the way a person is mourned in Egypt. Jacob was embalmed (something that the did not generally do).The people mourned for 40 days. Perhaps it took that long for the embalmment to be complete enough to put the body in a tomb. Joseph asks Pharaoh to be permitted to take his father's body back to Canaan and be buried with the others that had died before him in the cave of the patriarchs (as it is called). Pharaoh permits this, even releasing all of the male leaders of the tribe of Jacob to go back to their prior home. At the gravesite, Jacob is mourned for 7 days (probably the custom for the Israelites?).

After returning from Canaan, Joseph's brother begin to worry that Joseph will take revenge on them now that their father has died. After 17 years you would think that they would know that Joseph had no such intention. But, perhaps they did not have very much contact with Joseph considering is position in the government. Joseph once again assured them that he will treat them with lovingkindness because he had truly forgiven them, thus exemplifying Christ.

Joseph must have been about 55 when Jacob died. He lived another 55 years. He saw his sons grow up and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Interesting one was named specifically saying he was brought up on Joseph's knees. Macher must have been a favored grandchild.

Joseph provided for his family and his brothers and their families for all the years he was them. When he was close to death, he promised his brethren that God would visit them and take them back to Canaan. He asked his brothers to take an oath to carry his remain back to Canaan and bury them with his forefathers. It doesn't recount him giving a blessing on his children, perhaps because is father already had done so.

The story of Joseph's life is a truly amazing. God never left him forsaken, but blessed him richly in every circumstance, making him a man of God.

    Chris,

I always think of you when I watch these missionaries on youtube: called, The Two Preachers. They go to India and Pakistan and I believe in Australia and numerous countries.

They video disasters around the globe, lead people to Jesus, give The people Bibles in their languages. Pay ransom for people unable to pay their debts.

What they do is important. We live in the USA and barely notice ongoing disasters in our own nation.

What they publish is always current footage; within days of the event. It's important in our prayer time to pray for missionaries in every country. Whole cities get washed away in floods!

They posted videos of the Kentucky tornadoes.

It's big and loud, that Jesus is soon to appear. May we never take peace and safety for granted. Amen.

    LUKE 1:18-19

18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am GABRIEL, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

    LUKE 1:26-28

And in the sixth month the angel GABRIEL was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Bless you brother. Though I felt that I didn't, rather couldn't, answer your question properly, given that I don't read Hebrew. I have to, as most of us, refer to Hebrew translations & then conduct a small exercise to learn of the meaning & application. This I failed to properly achieve in this instance. Thanks for your understanding.
  • Chris - In Reply - 4 years ago
That's an interesting perception of that case, GiGi. You've gone to some lengths to simulate that fateful event & be convinced that it wasn't Chauvin's pressure on Floyd's neck that caused his death. I too have seen that video often, but have always wondered, is it normal for a police officer to assume that position for holding down a suspect - wouldn't handcuffs or other restraint be lawful, considering other officers were present with him idly standing by? If the suspect is indeed guilty, would a groaning man pleading for his life ("I can't breathe Officer, I can't breathe"), not compel the officer to relent & pursue another option? That he closed his eyes in death, with the officer's knee still against his neck, not convince a jury of a gross misdemeanor? I've never been in the police force, nor ever want to be, but in that situation, I would have acted quite differently, whether a white or coloured man.

This is a difficult case, to which any jury would balk at, given the other matters of his drug use, incoherent behaviour, etc. But anyone, particularly a police office or even a soldier on the front line, should conduct business with the highest regard to the requirements & lawful practises of his job - simply because he stands or falls because of the very implicating evidence that can be brought against him. I even think of a case recently, when a thief broke into a house, assaulted & robbed the woman resident, & the woman died of a heart attack at the crime scene. The law said that the thief wasn't the cause of her death as the woman had a heart condition. I find that judgement totally unreasonable & a miscarriage of justice. But the Law is what the Law is. The day will come when all will be judged with righteous Judgement & none can ever claim any innocence in any matter. Even evil judges will no doubt be fronting their Great Judge & learn what upholding God's Laws actually mean.
  • GiGi on Genesis 49 - 4 years ago
Here Jacob calls his 12 sons near and pronounces a prophecy over each one. He says it is for the "last days". (far into the future?).

I have not studied these prophecies in depth yet, but I do understand some. To Judah will be the monarchy (scepter). Simeon and Levi will not have their own portion of land, but will be scattered into all of the land portions of the other brothers. I guess I will have to google search more on this.

It is interesting that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob all seemed to know when they were to give their blessings. Abraham and Jacob both died right after blessing their children. Isaac lived more than 20 years after he gave Jacob the birthright blessing, but he thought he was near death when he gave it. What a blessing to be able to gather your family and bless them, recount how God worked in one's life, and die in peace.

WHEN WAS THE GOSPEL SET IN MOTION? OR PERHAPS THOUGHT OF.

Here's a few scriptures perhaps something to help or give thought to several topics.

    1 Peter 1:19-21.

I make this 1st Scripture a significant point of interest because if all get saved in the end regardless then that renders the word Salvation obsolete. So we righteously argue that if that was the case why spill the blood of our Precious Lord as Brother Chris has stated?

I believe here's another factor when combining the above verse with this one.

    Hebrews 10:7.

    Psalms 40:7.

I believe When considering all scripture it ties some way or another to the Lord's redemption plan.

Sense the plan of salvation was drawn up before the foundation of the world and the volume of the book is written of Christ it don't only render salvation obsolete it render the volume of the book obsolete.

We would no longer have scripture to reason with.

    Part 2.

Also when considering the 2 trees in the Garden we must consider this redemption plan was purposed to come by Christ before either of these trees were made! And also consider the volume of the book was written of Christ. I believe that eating of the tree of life has its role in this as well! Atleast in a way to set the plan in motion.

" My thought here is inconclusive "

But here is why I mentioned it. Look at the results from eating of the tree.

Genesis 3:21. I believe this significant piece of scripture is part of the volume of the book mentioned and the first blood atonement sacrifice pointing ahead to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. John 5:39.

    God bless.

Beautifully explained as I knew would. What a joy to live with Jesus through the Holy Spirit !

When I read the part where God sacrifice 2 animals to make clothes for Adam and Eve__I cried. God is so good.

Peter was speaking as a man. What he said was of concern and feelings of loss. He just wasn't thinking. None of us would want to witness Jesus abused and crucified.

But what he spoke was a huge temptation for Jesus. It is HARD to die for mankind before the Cross and after the Cross.

I'm weak and human. I would've cried rather than rejoiced that Jesus was going to destroy the Devils stolen power, FOREVER. It's just part of humanity we deal with every day.

I kick myself in the head when I see people merrily on the way to hell without a care.

If The Lord had not allowed me to see hell, as in Isaiah 14:11. I saw twisted limbs like roots, and the worms moving. I heard many screaming voices. I fell off the chair I was standing on__I thought, into that scene!! When I hit the floor, it was gone. I was delivered from demons by the Lord. When I woke up the next morning, the Holy Spirit was in me. He helped me clean my home of all occult material.

I had to convince my drunken disco buddies I no longer would be going with them. I lost ALL of my friends, for Jesus.

It's true. If you don't seriously start garnishing your "house" (your inner man, your new spirit that is alive to God now) WITH THE SCRIPTURES OF LIFE, the demons will come back to torment you. I went through more deliverance by the Holy Spirit.

We cannot put ANY KIND OF SPIN on the scriptures. If HE cannot trust us to carry the Anointing with reverence, it will be diminished (in my experience). There is no worse feeling of silence and aloneness. You know, that you know, what's missing. It is the Holy Spirit. He is worth more than anything we once thought precious. I had to get honest, real honest, that I could not manage really personal relationships and my new life in evangelism. I let it go and embraced celibacy. It was the right thing. Don't ever risk the loss of the Anointing. Don't allow antichrist spirits to tempt you over scripture. The rewards are awesome. Greater is He

Ahh, here is the blessings. I mistook the bowing of Jacob's head on the bed in the last chapter as Jacob dying.

It is interesting that this is the first time Jacob meets Joseph's sons. Where were they all the years Jacob was in Goshen, Egypt? Did is mother keep them from Joseph's family?

Jacob first calls Joseph to him when he knows that his death is near. He wants to give the birthright blessing to one of Joseph's sons. And he puts his right hand (the hand of blessing) on the second born, not the first. He blesses both.

Joseph receives a double blessing from his father.

Makes me think that back before Joseph went to Egypt, and Joseph was Jacob's favored son, God must have told Jacob that the blessing he received from his father Isaac over Esau, and Isaac received from Abraham over Ishmael was to go to Joseph. This blessing had the promises of Abraham, Isaac , and Jacob attached to it. It identifies the one God will bless exceedingly with descendants, possession of the land, and walk with God.

The Hebrew rendering of those applicable verses doesn't given anymore clarity than what we read & understand in Genesis 2:9,16,17: two trees that were specifically mentioned by God over & above the other vegetation given: one of Life (whether for sustaining life & health ensuring eternal life on Earth) & one for the Knowledge of Good & Evil (that which removes man's innocence, giving him increasing knowledge & discernment, both in matters of the world around him & of moral uprightness).

The Command of God to them was not to deny them a fuller knowledge of life (as that is part of the Image of God), for we know that the trees in Eden gave edible fruit & were given to them to freely eat from (v16), but that particular tree was also there to be a test of their obedience to their Creator. They could have partaken of the Tree of Life if they did not sin, but for now forbidden from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good & Evil. The worth of that tree isn't in question, the worth of A & E's moral integrity is.

What would have happened if they obeyed God even after being tempted to disobey - would that tree still be debarred from them? Could God have said to them, 'Since you passed the test, you can now eat of that tree?' We don't know - maybe God wanted mankind to be kept in innocence into eternity, or maybe after the test would be completed, that tree would have become available so that mankind would increase in knowledge, conforming more to the Image of his Creator. All this is supposition of course.

We no longer see the Tree of the Knowledge of Good & Evil, as the sin of disobedience was already committed & that very sin has passed onto all mankind: disobeying our Creator, removing His Lordship over us, & replacing it with ours. But the Tree of Life is seen in the New Earth ( Revelation 22:2), when Satan can no longer deceive us & cause us to sin, & that Tree stands, maybe symbolically, speaking of our restored eternal existence with our God & Saviour.
