How can I ask for a reprieve from death and truly believe it will happen Matt 5? So much is coming at my family at once, so many questions, no answers, no path of action. My landlord is selling my house, no place available to move to, Would like to find better employment, My father in-law the family anchor is dying and we can't get answers from any of his doctors We don't even know what to ask of them or where to look for answers. My husband is not ready for this and our daughter's path has not brought her closer to coming home after a year of no contact.

My prayers are completely useless. I read the bible out of habit and pray out of habit(don't know what else to do) but coming to the conclusion that I believe my family is not God's chosen

Hi Jerimiah. Yes, Jesus was sacrificed to pay the price of our sin that we couldn't pay - and that payment was God's requirement as His pure Lamb was killed as our substitute, so we wouldn't have to take the awful penalty of God's Judgement against us. So the Sacrifice was for all mankind - but not all mankind want that Sacrifice. Jesus' Coming & Death was God's Gift to us so we can have our sins forgiven & enjoy eternal life with Him - but not all want to receive that Gift. In fact, not only do they refuse Him, but also shame & mock Him with their talk & way of living, just as those Romans & Jews did at Jesus' crucifixion.

So, the way is indeed narrow - the narrow path to eternity that only a few can traverse on, as God's children looking to the day when they will be with their God & Father & Jesus Christ. But the other way is wide, for there are so many more that have refused the Gift, & so blinded by their own lusts & passions, that they don't even recognize that hell is at the end of it ( Matthew 7:13,14; Luke 13:23,24). Every man, woman & child has the Blood of Christ available for them - it's now up to them what they do with that great expression of God's Love - God doesn't force that Gift upon them. That is why John 3:16 is so precious: "For God so loved the world (all people), that He gave His only begotten Son (as His Sacrifice for them), that whosoever believeth in Him (they must come - they must place their trust in Jesus), should not perish, but have everlasting life (life forever in God's Presence & not a life forever in hell's torment).
  • LOOK AT CREATION AND YOU WILL FIND THE ORIGINS OF COLORS - In Reply on Genesis 2 - 4 years ago
Moses wrote the first 5 Books. He was moving around working ministering leading teaching and he had a family he was busy.

Genesis has to be read very SLOW. Sometimes a thought in chapter 1; writes on something different. And then the thought gets picked up in the next chapter and added to the first.

I always teach: you will need notebook and paper.

You will GREATLY BENEFIT with a KJV Reference Bible WITH a center of each page reference column. It points to additional info, prophesies past and future; and more.

With Moses writing it shows the leaps ahead and the resuming of an earlier statement.

The Geneologies have references as well. Those are the most interesting stories. That's why I said make lots of notes. Hod allowed it and we must study it and understand the Bigger Picture.

Adams name, means "red" He was ruddy skinned and maybe red-headed.

The Bible does not speak on races. In Nimrods day everyone Spoke the same language. They were building a tower so nimrod could shoot arrows at God. The Godhead ( Romans 1) confused the languages. The people couldn't finish the tower. They migrated to other regions so they didn't have language conflicts.

It's my OPINION, that's when skin tones changed according to other regions and sun exposure, the pigment in skin changed. You'd have to read some books on the evolvement of skin pigmentation?

God is not a color. He is a consuming Fire. He is spirit. Jesus is Son of Man: Human and God. The Holy Spirit is Spirit.

Satan is invisible because he is a created being; that is not HUMAN. He stole DOMINION from Adam&Eve. Jesus got it back on the Cross__because he was born human through Mary. He legally stripped Satan. Again, Satan is not human. Ephesians 6

God likes COLORS. Look at creation!! Animals, bugs, flowers, birds, etc. You cannot accuse God for different colors of people. All colors come from the DUST God used to make MAN. It's in the DNA.

  • OPEN THE DOOR OF YOUR HEART - In Reply on 2 Corinthians 5 - 4 years ago
    Wesley's Notes for Revelation 3:20

I stand at the door, and knock - Even at this instant; while he is speaking this word. If any man open - Willingly receive me. I will sup with him - Refreshing him with my graces and gifts, and delighting myself in what I have given. And he with me - In life everlasting.

People's Bible Notes for Revelation 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock. The language implies that Christ is near. If they will open the door by repentance he is ready to enter and bless. If any man shall hear my voice, and open the door. Hear and obey. Then the Lord will enter, and they shall partake together of the richness of the feast.

Comment: Jesus isn't going to knock on the door and when you open to Him, he's going to start listing all the unconfessed sins.

He's been knocking all along. Most of us know that dark closet in our soul where we hide the sins.

We have to open the door, and let the Lord begin His work. He's gentle and direct. We are healed. The closet is emptied and we are Free; healed.

I agree GiGi, these matters are very difficult to properly judge & sort out. I'm glad that all this is in the Lord's Hands, He Who will judge righteously, Who sees the whole situation & the hearts involved. Nevertheless, I do get quite sad when a marriage breaks down with no solution in sight & that spouses are consigned to singleness for their remaining days. It would be like losing a loved one to death, & then carrying that pain for a long time. Like many other issues in the Christian walk, each person must do according to the Word, trusting God for the strength to bear up & stay true to Him. There is always some discipline & suffering when we knowingly entertain sin, & though God may be all-forgiving, we still have to face the ramifications of whatever sin we commit, especially that which damages or destroys other lives. To live with that might sometimes be harder than falling under God's Hand.

If the ministry from the Word is strong & consistent, whatever sins that might be hidden from the Pastor, will be manifest to the disobedient from the Word - they might even leave that Fellowship of their own accord & seek one that speaks sympathetically to them, welcoming them in. I believe that when we put the Lord & His Word first in our lives & in the life of the Church, Jesus will deal with us for the singular purpose of, "sanctifying and cleansing it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish." ( Ephesians 5:26,27). And this deep Love of Christ for us illustrates the love that husbands & wives ought to have for each other (vv 24,25) - bathed with understanding, forgiveness, & humility, esteeming each other.

Yes it is a difficult verse that should be taken like every other action of disobedience concerning the way we function as a Church. It seems the Lord made an exception here in Matthew 19:9.

I believe When they are Married they lay with each other and that constitute their Marriage, When one commit Adultery they break this constitution. But they may remain Married if chooses to. And I believe in the beginning as it is now they were meant to remain Married under all circumstances under the law of mercy. Same union Christ has with his Church.

If a spouse divorce the other where there's no fornication then perhaps that spouse should remain unmarried.

But say this person has grown up in his/her faith acknowledge their wrong doing after he/her remarries, Does he commit an act of disobedience again and repent and get a divorce? Are is that second marriage even valid. The Lord doesn't go into great detail. Probably because as the scripture say the Pharisees came to test him.

Also so do we factor in lusting with the eyes? Thats Adultery as well.

Matthew 5:27-28. I believe we are held on a higher standard than just the act. This is one I believe the Lord judges individually and only he has the wisdom to do so.

    God bless.

I just try to see this from the words of Jesus. But I know that there are many differing viewpoints on this. I am sure this tread may get many posts. That is good. I want to hear from others. This is a matter that is hard to resolve wit the culture in churches these days. I know we have forgiveness, but I guess I see it like this, if someone murders and confesses and then continues to murder again and again, what should the church do with this? Or how about a homosexual who confesses and continues to engage in homosexual relations. Would we put him in charge of Sunday School? Would we want our pastor to perform a marriage ceremony?

We are soft on divorce and remarriage because it does not offend US as much as these other sinful things I mentioned. But the important things is: "How does God view it?"

That's my point. I don't care to point fingers at anyone. It just causes me to be concerned about how to speak about and deal with this activity in life.

So, I know we have forgiveness. But we because we have forgiveness, I don't think then we are free to redefine what Jesus calls sinful.

Jacob and family journey to Egypt, stopping along the way at Beer-Sheba (south Canaan in the desert area of the Negev, I believed) to offer a sacrifice to God. Jacob was thankful for much. Joseph was alive, all of is sons were safe, having returned from Egypt, they were welcomed to arrive in Egypt, they would receive what they needed in the famine. God appears to Jacob and speaks to Him words of assurance.

Jacob and Joseph meet. They held onto each other a long time-20+ years worth of a hug!

Judah and Joseph lead the group to Goshen near Avaris (a Hyksos city). They will settle here and shepherd their flocks. I don't know why shepherds were looked down upon by the Egyptians. I know that later, the Pharisees looked down on the shepherds, too. Perhaps saying they were shepherds would keep Egyptians away from their settlement and prevent much intermingling of cultures (for a while). Maybe it would keep the Israelites from being put into the army or other position of the government. The Goshen area was a very fertile area as it accumulated silt from the Nile as the river branched out into a delta. It was in the eastern side of the delta region, closer to Canaan than any other area.

They were strategically placed by God to be able to flee Egypt in the Exodus hundreds of years later.

    Hi GiGi.

    O don't believe in Divorce.

Let's get that out the way first.

I also believe If a unbeliever marries and unfortunately end up in Divorced, turn his life over to Christ then he's a New creature in Christ.

    2 Corinthians 5:17-18.

I also believe if a believer is taken in a fault such as divorce and remarried he can be forgiven and restored back to fellowship.

We all started out as unclean vessels and we're cleansed daily.

    Some may see it different.

    God bless.

    1 John 3:9

[9]Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

    1 John 5:18

[18]We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

Sadly, Chris, pastors are teaching that it is fine to remarry even though to do so commits adultery, but, if you confess that it is adultery and you are forgiven, then you can go on living with the second spouse without a problem. I have heard this said by a number of pastors. Also, I have known those who remarry anyone who asks them. Also, they will put divorced and remarried persons in positions of leadership in the church, such as deacon, elder, teacher, or pastor.

I have always believed what Jesus said about this. I have always believed that a person who remarries commits adultery as long as they remain married to this second spouse. I think I am among the few that still believe this.

But our churches are full of divorced and remarried couples and their children. What are we to do about this? I do not know. Granted, some were unbelievers when they divorced their first spouse and have remarried a believer. I do not see this as an exception Jesus spoke about. Some were abandoned by their spouse, who left them for another lover. These are free to remarry, by Jesus' standards.

For me, it is a dilemma on how to fellowship with Christians who are in such relationships. Many are devoted believers and pleasant to be around. I know that God forgives people who confess their sin, but is there repentance if one continues in the relationship one is confessing and seeking forgiveness for?

We are in this situation because the church relented on the biblical position to avoid offending people or turning people away from fellowship or losing members. It is tough and I certainly do not know the reasons for each couple's prior

    divorce.

It is so unfortunate that we do not have strong godly ministries for divorced persons that teach them that they are to remain single and serve God in that capacity to adhere to the teaching of Jesus. When they get remarried and then blend families and have more children, then it makes it difficult to end this additional marriage. ???

Praise the Lord with joy in our hearts. Fear the Lord for He is the Judge of our lives here on earth and this MUST make us to repent of our sins. We thank you ABBA Father that You have wiped away all sin through Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank you Father for your Grace and Mercy that cause us to worship the only true Lord and King Eternal. What joy should fill our hearts each day. Your Saints rejoice in Your blessings during the daylight and in the evening as we sleep, You are the Good Shepherd and we are your Sheep. I love Your Commandments forevermore! All because You gave us Jesus to die for those sins that once separated us from You.
  • Chris - In Reply on Acts 10 - 4 years ago
Indeed Kenneth, what you write is very true: on the biblical teaching about divorce & those pastors who support re-marriage after divorce. Personally, I've not come across such pastoral teaching, but I'm sure with the many variations & colours of Christianity around the world, that wouldn't surprise me. When man, especially in such a position of teaching & shepherding Christ's Church, incorrectly teaches from God's Word, he will have to give the greater account of his life & ministry before God in that coming day ( Hebrews 13:17) - and Hebrews 13:4 reminding them & us that, "Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."

Maybe these servants of God have been compelled to water down or even overlook this matter about divorce & re-marriage because of the prevalence of it in their own congregations. I would think that that should be grounds for a greater impetus to preach against it & to put out any that are known to engage in such sinful activity. Sadly, the world is well & truly in the Church as the love & approval received from the people & job security becomes more important.

Hello Mazie. I believe you can create a shortcut for KJBO, or any other webpage, but it won't appear on your Desktop screen as a 'typical' shortcut - but as a shortcut to the web address link you save. If that's what you want, then do this:

    a. go to the KJBO Main webpage (not its sub-pages) & reduce it in size, where you can see both it & your desktop.

    b. then highlight the web address in the address bar at the top of the webpage; sometimes it will highlight on its own with one click or else, after you click on it, then with your left mouse button pressed, drag the cursor to the other end of the URL to highlight it.

    c. with your mouse, hold the left button down & drag that link to your desktop & drop it anywhere. Now you should be able to click on that 'shortcut' & open it to KJBO's Main Page. Hope that helps.

What a lovely turn in this story of Joseph and his family. He got to the point where he could no longer hold it in. He had to reveal to them who he was. And they did not believe him! It had been a few decades and they had not heard from him. They surely thought he was dead but definitely not one in charge of Egypt!

Joseph knew how much God had blessed him despite what his brothers had done to him. They did not know all of the details of ow God worked in Joseph's life yet. So, Joseph was speaking from a place of greater knowledge of God than they had. No wonder the brothers were a bit dumbfounded.

Interesting that Joseph said that he was as a father to . Was Pharaoh much younger than Joseph? I love that Pharaoh was very happy to meet Joseph's family. He was very generous to invite the whole family to Egypt to be taken care of by Joseph. There was to be five more years of famine, but Pharaoh must have known that Joseph had put away enough food for many neighboring peoples to come and get food.

Joseph gave God all of the credit for the good that came to him from the sinful way his brothers treated him. He told the brothers to not be bothered about what they had done. How good it must have been for them to know that he had forgiven them. Even after all of these years, the brothers were still keenly bothered by the communal sin they shared concerning Joseph.

When Jacob was told Joseph was alive it says his heart fainted and that then he was revived. Did he die and was revived? Or did he just faint? to Jacob, Joseph was brought back from the dead.

They all were heading to Egypt. Did Jacob know the prophesy God had spoken over Abraham about their sojourn in Egypt?

    On to the next chapter.

Hi Lidia A couple of things to consider Genesis 2:1 the word host [is tsaba or service of them] so God was done with servicing that which He did. the other usage of

tsaba is warfare which would not fit in this context. In Genesis 1:28 God said to subdue or have control over that which

had breath life i.e. fish animals bugs etc. no where do I see for the purpose consumption yet. Then God gives the

purpose of why He gave vegetation in verses 29-31. If there was something other than what we currently know as

mankind the explanation maybe what happened between genesis 1:1 and genesis 1:2 where something may have

occurred cataclysmic which may explain dinosaurs or so called prehistoric man, which is why they can only find fossils

because whatever was there got wiped out. This may explain the statement in our image to replenish the earth.

But like that which Chris commented on First Adam [adam means red earth] of the earth 2nd Adam Jesus Christ.

    Just giving another perspective.
