Their eyes were opened. Even though they were told that Jesus was resurrected they could not believe until their eyes were opened. Our spiritual eyes have to be opened to see the resurrected Jesus.

    Brother David:

    Eve wasn't spiritually perfect.

Romans 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly .....

Anyone made subject to vanity is not spiritually perfect, you and I were made subject to vanity, that's why we are deceived and sin.

    That's why Eve sinned.

That's why God didn't put the blame on ADAM, he made Eve that way, subject to being deceived, we today are subject to being deceived, because we are born of woman. Christ, through his death and resurrection, provided a way to become spiritually perfect.

Genesis 5:2 MALE and FEMALE created he them, and bless them, and called THEIR NAME ADAM, the DAY THEY WERE CREATED.

1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in ADAM all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man ADAM was made a living soul; the last ADAM a quickening Spirit.

1 Timothy 1:14 And ADAM was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

    May God Bless You.

Gigi That's exactly my point no man and do the whole law and our sabbath or something being brought to

an end is our walk 24/ 7 by the spirit, that's why the sabbath was made for man not the opposite. It's not

an argument, its understanding our lives by the spirit in the age of Grace.
  • Grace - In Reply - 4 years ago
Amen Marie! I agree with you. In Jesus name I ask also that you have all of your requests, in His will!

Is anything stopping you Freddy? Take it to the Lord in prayer. [He will in no wise cast you out!]

[Seek him with all your heart and you will find him]

I'm praying for you to invite Jesus in.

You can't do anything else unless you do that first. Have a talk with Jesus don't wait. Please don't wait. [He is faithful and just to forgive all of your sins.] Ask Him.

Get a Bible start in the Book of John. Find out who Jesus is and pray to be like Him, [conformed to His image.] He will show you what that means. Find a body of Bible only believers to gather with in His name. Physically, if at all possible. And come back and let us know if you've done this! Tell someone. Get baptized.

    WOW, Earl , Just WOW

You assume many things about what pastors are preaching from every pulpit across the world. I have never heard a pastor preach the way you have stated and I have had many pastors in my life. I have always been taught to love our enemies, and that God loves everyone, even the unbelieving. Just because God loves everyone doesn't mean that He will not be just. He is all love, all justice, all good, all pure, all of what makes Him God. He does not diminish or set aside one attribute of His essence to magnify another. He loves those who oppose Him, but without repentance and belief, these people will receive God's perfect justice, which He said is punishment in hell. He still loves everyone wo will be in hell, but He set the terms of His judgments in His Word and He will execute perfect justice and perfect love all the time.

I know you have said that Jesus' sacrifice paid for all the sins of all mankind. I believe that, too. I believe that all mens' sins are forgiven in Christ, but I also believe that Scripture says that only those who believe that He has saved them will indeed receive eternal life with God. Salvation is not so much a point of being forgiven as it is believing the gospel of Christ is for "me" and so I receive it by faith.

God allows us to retain the free agency to refuse to believe in Him and in His gospel. And in doing so, He proves that He is just to judge those who believe to eternal life and those wo do not to hell.

I know you disagree. And I really do not wish to rehash this topic once again. People reading can go back and find the thread about this in the past month to read what has been written, because, to be honest Earl, it is those reading who are not yet convinced about tis we are really writing too whether we admit it on our post or not.

God bless you today. I am always thankful to have something to talk with you about and others here. It keeps us sharp!

    Dear rick and Bro Dan.

I agree that Jesus honored the Sabbath commandment in a perfect way, not like the religious leaders did. These leaders were more concerned about outwards actions to be strictly done by rote observance but not from the heart. It is like giving God "lip service" when we pray.

I also agree, that the Sabbath is good. But how do we know exactly what day is the true Sabbath established that day in Genesis in the year (what)? We really do not know this because we do not know the exact date of the first Sabbath. It could have been our Wednesday in our calendar or any other day. But , traditionally, it has been Saturday according to the calendar that was put into effect many centuries ago after Jesus lived on earth. How do we know that our calendar is correct? We do not. But in our time, Saturday is the 7th day. For many, this can be a Sabbath Day for them. Since the Scripture does not say we have to attend worship services on the Sabbath, (or any day), services on Sunday or Wednesday or any other day do not violate the Sabbath commandment. Those who wish to keep Saturday as a Sabbath and attend services on Sunday are being obedient to Scripture. Those who view Sunday as a Sabbath day and attend services are being obedient to the Scripture, and those who treat every day as a Sabbath are being obedient to Scripture. Each person is to prayerfully follow the lead of the Holy Spirit on this. It is one of those areas where, I believe, there can be differences.

As others have stated, living for God 24/7 as much as we are able to do is our attempts to keep the Sabbath holy, as has been pointed out by some. But we will never keep the Sabbath perfectly in this life as Jesus did. He always did the will of the Father. That is why we rest in the finished work of Jesus.

Your partly right you misunderstood the concept of the blood. The blood of Jesus was shed on calvary for the remissions of sin. If the blood was applied to every man / woman, every man /woman would have to be saved and be forgiven of their sins. But man / woman must first ask for forgiven of that man's sins before the blood can be applied to that man or woman's life. The blood is only applied to a woman's or a man's life if that man or that woman asked Jesus for forgiveness of his / her sins.

    God Bless

stay prayed up and ready to go up

Bro Dan By the way if I didn't quite communicate correctly that's the first mistake I made today, and

if you believe that they put screen doors in submarines. LOL
  • Rick - In Reply on John 7 - 4 years ago
Hi Bro Dan He condemned the way the religious leaders at the time used the sabbath to there advantage

making the commandments of God of no effect by there traditions which was false doctrine that overtime they

made their traditions. Mathew 15:1-9. These same guys broke there law and had a trial at night behind

closed doors against Jesus Christ and the same evil hypocrites made sure our passover was down from the

cross so they could be CLEAN to celebrate the passover. So blind they didn't know they sacrificed the

passover of eternity our Lord and Saviour.

They constantly went against love joy peace meekness mercy instead do it our way or else

that's the epitome of man made religion. It's better known as Self Righteousness. They hated Jesus Christ

because he hit them right where they lived!
  • David - In Reply - 4 years ago
Earl They could not have knowledge of death or anything dealing with confusion fear or destruction because of

that source the adversary. Don't think the adversary didn't know what God told them Also what's the difference

they knew about death or not

is if you disobey me your Father you deal with the consequences of your unbelief. Also who made Eve

question Gods Word was it not the great liar. By the way they died in the worst way they no longer had their

spiritual connection with God and Adam lost all authority Given him by God. That's why in Genesis 3:10 Adam

said I was afraid, that's a bad position to be in with your father yet look who God blamed. Neither Adam nor

    Eve.

We are saved by faith, because of the shed blood of Jesus. However, Jesus told us that God's law will stand till heaven and earth pass. The law in Col 2 is the handwritten Moses' law not the !0 Commandments, finger-written by God.

If we sin, we need to repent. What is sin? 1 John 3vs 4 ' sin is the transgression of the law.' So, clearly, Jesus expects us to obey the law. It is written in our hearts but still can be over-ruled by us. Besides, what exactly does 'written in our hearts 'mean? Let us not be confused with trying to convert old Greek understandings exactly into modern English. We still have freewill and are not automatons obeying the Lord because of His presence within us. How can there be any disagreement between the written law and the law in our hearts? Jesus Christ is the same 'yesterday, today and forever' and Hebrews 13:8 'I am the Lord, I change not."( Malachi 3:6). What does being saved mean? To verbally accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour without complete submission to Him as Lord is worthless-- Rev 3:16.

We can lose our salvation. see, eg. Matt 24:13-'but he that shall endure to the end shall be saved' and Rev 3:11.

This issue is really important and often confusing. We are saved so we won't sin and will develop characters fit for heaven. God does not ever want any more disobedience. We must understand that His ways are perfect and we must obey.

Are you ready for His return? Let's look at the characteristics of his faithful followers at that time. Revelation 14:12-

'They keep the COMMANDMENTS OF GOD AND THE FAITH OF JESUS.' Note further Rev 22:14-

'Blessed are they that DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, that they may have RIGHT to the tree of life and may enter into the city.'

Note that it says HIS commandments, not somebody else's. Jesus does not separate Himself from His law.

'I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. The Bible also tells us in Psalm 119 vs 142 'Thy law is Truth.'

1 John 2:4- we are liars if not keeping commandments.

    Hi Bonita,

I agree with GiGi, I believe Jesus was 30 yrs old

Luke 3:22-23. And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

( AND JESUS HIMSELF BEGAN TO BE ABOUT THIRTY YEARS OF AGE, ) being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,

It may have something to do with serving as a priest.

    Numbers 4:3-4.

    God bless.

Brother Dan, before you can disobey you have to be given the command and with ever command comes a warning of the punishment that goes with that command.

Before you act on the command you either believe or do not believe.

If you believe and then obey, then there is no negative outcome, and no punishment.

If you don't believe and disobey, then there is a negative outcome, and punishment.

Adam and Eve had no KNOWLEDGE of what death was, so their UNBELIEF came before disobedience.

When young children are commanded by their parents not to touch the stove or it will burn them, they have no KNOWLEDGE of what being burned is. In UNBELIEF they touch the stove. Now they have KNOWLEDGE.

It was necessary and preordained that man would eat from the TREE OF KNOWLEDGE, you have to have KNOWLEDGE of hot and cold, etc., etc., everything has an opposite, so man had to have KNOWLEDGE of good and evil, they are the fruit of the same tree.

The CHURCH in the wilderness was told to search out the promise land and see for themselves that it was a land flowing with milk and honey. And God said I WILL GO BEFORE YOU and drive out the inhabitants of the land.

Upon returning all 12 said yes it was like God said, but 10 told the people there are giants in the land and they will destroy us.

But 2 told the people, yes there are giants in the land; BUT GOD SAID, he would drive them out.

The people BELIEVED man and NOT GOD. UNBELIEF CAUSES DISOBEDIEBCE.

Hebrews 3:19 We see they could not enter in because of UNBELIEF.

Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of UNBELIEF.

    God Bless You.

Hi Bro Dan I will rephrase he condemned the what the religious leaders were using Gods commandment to

to accomplish self righteousness don't do any work on the sabbath which means don't heal anybody

That's what I'm talking about, in our day and time some people say the sabbath is saturday some say sunday

the idea is our rest is in the believing of what was accomplished by Jesus Christ spiritually which fulfills the

law. The law was our schoolmaster until Christ Galatians 3:21-29 if someone declares that if I by occupation

or choose to go to a fellowship in a house and not a building with a steeple and cross does that make me

a sinner? My bible says the church are the people eklesia which is a gathering of people who come together

for one common purpose ours is to worship and love God. We who walk by the spirit fulfill the law.
