Dear friends forever in Jesus Christ.

Matthew 9:31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.

32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.

33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.

35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

    37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

    Hello Chris

The scriptures that you quoted are certainly true. We are saved by faith not by obeying the law. He shed His blood for us. However, disregard of the law of God was what brought down Lucifer and Adam and Eve. There was no sin till then. We, in our flesh, also do not obey nor can obey the law of God. The 10 Commandments have not been abolished. Jesus said in Matthew 5 vs 18: 'till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law till all be fulfilled.'

What does being saved mean? To verbally accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour without complete commitment is worthless. What does He say about being lukewarm? We can lose our salvation as evidenced by scriptures such as Matthew24:13 'but he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved', Rev 3:11 'hold fast..so that no one may seize your crown', also eg. Mark 13:13, Hebrews 6:4-65, Heb 3:6

"SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW" 1John 3:4. If we sin, we have forgiveness by repenting to our advocate with the Father. 1 John 2:1. With His Spirit within us, we grow in our characters to become more like Jesus, who obeyed His Father.

He did not sin and became our substitute. We are saved from our sins not to keep on sinning. Deception in the churches on this point abounds. We are warned not to be deceived-eg. Matt24;4, 2 Thess 2-3, 1 Cor 6:9-10

To see what the faithful church will look like at the return of Jesus, examine Rev 14vs12- THEY KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD AND THE FAITH OF JESUS. In contrast to this, 'the love of many shall wax cold.' Matt 24:12

    Note further Rev 22vs 14:

' BLESSED ARE THEY THAT DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, THAT THEY MAY HAVE RIGHT TO THE TREE OF LIFE AND MAY ENTER IN THROUGH THE GATES INTO THE CITY.'

Jesus does not separate Himself from His law. He said of Himself 'I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.'

The Bible also tells us in Psalm 119vs 142 'Thy Law is Truth.'

1 John 2:4 says we are liars if we say we love Him and do not keep His commandments.

It takes 2 seconds to bow your knee to the floor and ask forgiveness, for what is stinging your conscience.

After Jesus died, the first thing he did was TEAR THE VEIL FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. The veil that separated us. We now are able to COME BOLDLY TO THE THRONE OF GRACE; which is Jesus Himself.

It's not hard to do. Jesus has given us everything possible to make it easier for us to come to Him at any time. He is presently sitting at the Right Hand of God the Father, MAKING INTERCESSION FOR THE SAINTS. He doesn't sleep.

That's us!! We are the Saints. He is praying for us right now. He wants us free in mind, soul, and spirit. He knows exactly IF AND WHEN we are going to bow that knee and have our fellowship restored. How really GOOD it feels to have that sin weight cut off so we can run into HIS arms.

Jesus was human, but never sinned. He did it for us. How did he do that? He must love Father and Holy Spirit very much; loves us more. He gave himself for us, and died for us.

The more we understand that, the easier it is to bow the knee, lift up holy hands and worship His holy Name. We learn the Holiness of God.

Isaiah 6:1-7 Draw closer to Him.

Look at Him and don't look back at Egypt.

Will we never get the Sabbath controversy solved??

If one would read what God said, at a one-legged snails pace__there is NO controversy. It is not dependent on some world clock; or the Roman Catholic clock or anyone else's clock that they tinker with daily.

Satan wants everyone confused. Like me..tell him to Go To Hell__prepared for him and his demons! He'd probably argue that I can't!! It's not Sunday or Saturday or the Lords Day. Frustration ensues. You reply: It Is prepared! As it is Written!

God said: 6 days shall we work. The next day is the set apart day for the Sabbath. We rest. Exodus 31:17, 31:13:12-18

Modern times, we think there isn't enough week to get everything accomplished. Rest and Church are first thing that gets pushed to the BOTTOM of the DO LIST.

Lawn mowing, check; oil change wash the car, check; wash clothes & put away, check. Wash dog, check. Etc

No one wants to know how much time we accrue sitting in front of a television, computer playing games, talking hours to people through media instead of talking to our family. The 6th day is for us to do the honey do's and go to ball games with our kids; family stuff.

It's a small thing to go to church on "Sunday" and hear Gods Word (which we trust to save us from destruction). Go to a restaurant for an hour to fellowship with friends over food. The rest is ours to be thankful no one is sick; walk the dog, kids & enjoy sunshine and hear nothing except excited voices. Gods voice? Whatever we give to God, he multiplied back to us. (Don't let teenagers bow out) Parents demonstrate What's Important every day.

Computers, cable & Streaming, chatting online are not babysitters. If family life HURTS, then YOU change it. They'd rather have Time with YOU, anyway. Ignore the frowns

Great Big cruise ships are turned with a very small devise. It's not impossible to change habits. Put God first, and He Will sort out the details of change. Touch heals.

Is it a form of vanity to ask God to clothe you in the grace you feel he has granted to you. Also, are our prayers answered if we have the slightest doubt of not being worthy for that which we ask in prayer?

Once I started at Genesis, Psalms & Matthew reading in those 3. It was amazing the revelation revealed while reading old & New Testament together especially when one chapter like Psalms 22, & Luke 23,

It could have been better structured however. Maybe start with ,

    Genesis, John ,

    Exodus, Joshua, Hebrews,

Hosea, Song of Solomon, Ruth, Job, Tobit,

Psalms, Luke, just keep markers in each place, when jumping around.

    Judges

    1 Samuel, 1 Chronicles, 1 Kings, 1 Esdras, 2 Esdras,

2 Samuel, 2 Chronicles, 2 Kings, Ecclesiastes, Lamentations,

Letter of Jeremiah, Baruch, Judith, Prayer of Manasses,

    Deuteronomy, Susanna,

Daniel, Esther, Ezekiel, Revelations, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, Matthew, Jude,

Additions to Esther, Haggai, Obadiah, Nehemiah, Ezra, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah,

Jonah, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, Bel and the Dragon,

    Joel, Amos, Micha, Malachi

    Proverbs, Ecclesiastcus, Wisdom of Solomon,

Zechariah, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Mark, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians,

    Galatians, Colossians, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, 1 Peter, 2 Peter,

    Titus, Philemon, James, Philippians

    Hopefully this is helpful.

Hello William. You wrote, "We are called to obey God not to be saved but because we love God and want to please Him." I believe that to be able to truly love God & desire to please Him with our lives, must first require that we accept His Offer of Salvation - i.e. to be saved. If we're not saved through Christ's Blood, how is it possible to truly love God & please Him? History has shown that Israel tried to do this, to love God & please Him being given all the Laws to enable that to happen, even with God's pleadings by the mouths of the prophets. And you know what resulted from all that: they did not succeed, nor was God pleased with their efforts & they suffered.

But under the New Covenant, we read, "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." ( Romans 8:3,4). Would you agree that it's the "righteousness of God's Law" within us by His Spirit that now makes us acceptable to the Father? Though I might write to you as one of those "minister wolves", I do so, not to antagonize or condemn, but for consideration of the greater worth of the New Covenant in Christ's Blood over the Old Law that failed because of man's inability to keep it. Anyone who wants to observe the Law to the letter to please God, will always fail & Christ's shed Blood has no efficacy towards his quest. But if any realize that there can be no salvation (& pleasing God) by Law observance, will find the liberty in Christ & the power of His Spirit, to fully meet the righteous requirements of God's Law written in our hearts. If & when we fail (sin), we know that we can find forgiveness, unlike the Jew who was severely punished. "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." ( Galatians 5:1).

Hi Corine That's what happens when the traditions of men turns into false doctrine that's taught as true.

I know some one with the initials J.C. who dealt with it all the time and condemned it.
  • Chris - In Reply on John 7 - 4 years ago
You're right Corine, Sabbath was never on a Sunday. And you know what, the Sabbath is still not Sunday, even today. The seventh day has always been what we now refer to as Saturday. The Sabbath was instituted by God that His people, Israel, might set aside a day of rest, even as He rested (or, ceased from all His creative Work) on the seventh day & God sanctified it. So, if you or anyone want to keep Saturday as your rest day, no one should stop you.

Believers who worship on a Sunday (what we term as the Lord's Day - the Day of His Resurrection) ought not to regard Sunday as a Sabbath; it's a day set aside to come together & worship the Lord. They might also choose to rest, not work, or minister to others on that day, but we can't change the Sabbath to a Sunday. A Jew or any person who wants to observe Saturday as Sabbath & feels that disobeying that command puts him/her/others in a precarious position before God, also needs to observe the other commandments, statutes, precepts & laws to the letter. As James reminded us & wrote, "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend (or, fail to do) in one point, he is guilty of all." ( James 2:10). And brother Earl has also explained this very well.

    Corine:

Exodus 35:3 You shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.

Do you turn off all the heat Friday evening at sundown, that's when the sabbath starts, until Saturday evening at sundown when the sabbath ends. Surely you don't turn your stove on to cook or make coffee or toast bread.

Leviticus 16:31 It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and you shall AFFLICT YOUR SOULS, by a statute forever,

Do you keep the sabbath to the LETTER, there is several hundred statues included in the sabbath.

Exodus 35:2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you a Holy day, a sabbath or rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put TO DEATH.

Do you really want to live under the LETTER OF THE LAW, or the LAW OF GRACE.

People are celebrating the Sabbath on a Sunday, because they don't know any better. I'm not sure why Pastors, Preachers, Reverends preach on Sunday. They of all people should know better. No where in the Bible, does it say"Sunday is the Sabbath. Catholic priests will tell you that they are the reason, Saturday just wasn't convenient for them. They changed it. Apparently, present teachers today feel the same way, the real Sabbath just isn't convenient. God's word says,"the real Sabbath is a sign between Him and us,and. When He comes,He will know who kept it. I'm not understanding the Pastors. Do they not read the History? I'm amazed at the ones who celebrate the pagan holidays, but not the real celebrations we should be holding. Thank you.

Christ knows all events, past present and future. As helpless saved creatures His children surrender and expect all things to work for their good. We should apply this verse to our troubles we face. The robbers, rioters and businesses burners, are allowed to afflict it on hard working loyal obeying citizens. These rioters are being paid and encouraged by the NEW WORLD ORDER. These are brute beasts depicted in Peter and Jude, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

In addition to the good advice from GiGi & Scriptures from David, when I find myself in such a situation where the person I'm talking with begins to bring out personal, usually negative, private information about another, I interject with, 'that's so sad to hear but I would like to hear the other person's side to this'; or, 'I would like to take up the matter with that person'. This will usually put a stop to their 'sharing', & probably ensure that they distance themselves from you in the future. No gossiper will want their 'secret, private information' about another person questioned or exposed - it defeats the essential principle of gossipping.
  • Walter Daugherty on 2 Thessalonians 1 - 4 years ago
Satan always starts with an if. Satan then offers something in exchange.. Satan has not improved his method ,it has worked time and time again for him. We see that strong delusion in or government today. We are not to be ignorant about what is taking place. It will end with the coming of Jesus.
