This account of Joseph in Potiphar's house is familiar to many. Joseph was 17 when he arrived in Potiphar's household. It does not say how much time had elapsed until Potiphar noticed that God prospered Joseph in all he did. Joseph knew God. Jacob most likely shared his faith with Joseph and taught Him what he knew. I do not think that Joseph was very mature in His faith when he first arrived in Egypt. God favored and prospered Joseph in accordance with His will and purpose for Joseph's life. Joseph did not merit this favor and prosperity. But God blessed him more so than others.

I think that these blessings encouraged to look to God more and more. They strengthened his faith and resolve to follow God's ways.

Potiphar was an important official to the Pharaoh. He most likely had many responsibilities along with prestige among the people. He noticed Joseph, a slave, and chose to give Joseph responsibility over his household. This was quite and honor as well as putting Joseph under a microscope, so to speak. Potiphar's wife noticed Joseph, too. But not in a good way. She say that Joseph was young, and handsome, and virile. She desired to seduce him into adultery and attempted this repeatedly over a period of time.

Joseph must have been careful not to be alone in the house with her. But one day, he had to be in the house to do some task and he was alone there with the wife. She tried to ensnare him again, but he repelled her advances once again, running away from the the occasion for sin. His refusal to lie with the wife landed him in prison, as Potiphar either believed his wife or wanted to protect her reputation and honor.

Even in prison, God favored Joseph and intervened to have Joseph be put in charge of the other prisoners. God was further developing Joseph's leadership skills, but, more importantly, God was forming Joseph's character.

Joseph was not perfect. None of us are. So, God did not favor him because he was perfect, but because he was His.

Rick, you are correct. I was not implying that you said that or think that way. I was just commenting on some of what I have met with on my journey of faith. There is an element of anti-intellectual snobbery within the body of believers I have encountered over the years.

I was highlighting that the Lord did not ask that Paul set aside is intellect or skills to do the work of His calling. The Spirit renewed Paul in every way, not just his mind or heart. But Paul was still Paul with all of his faculties and talents.

This covid 19 I believe they are plagues .. And more of them . and I believe we are living in the last days.. Jesus will be here soon.

Isaac was the son prophesied of when the 2 angels came back from destroying Sodom and Gomorrah.

God cut the Covenant of Land with Abraham with Sarah his wife. Hagar was called bondwoman. God blessed Ishmael; gave him wealth, princes, kingdoms. But Israel was Isaacs Inheritance.

The Bible says that God was with Ishmael.

We have to understand that Ishmael was born of the permissive Will of God.

Gods perfect Will was to Abraham and the prophesies son, Isaac. Then Jacob.

No matter how history unfolds, The lands and boundaries of Israel are under Gods protection. If you think about looking at a map, Ishmael's portion of the lands are greater. But through the scriptures we know this war will continue to Armageddon.

All countries of the world have a part of the ending of this story. Even Russia, China and the USA. It's written in Daniel.

Everybody is going to have to witness the final destruction of this very ancient war. All this land peoples have fought and shed blood upon; will be destroyed at the end of all days. 2 Peter 3

It's inescapable. It's been written and it will happen. Believers in Messiah Jesus will escape from it. He's the Son of Man, and the Son of Jehovah God.

It's written the earth will be renewed for 1000 years following its total destruction. We have to be born again, book of John chapter 3 verse 5.

A lot of us have unsaved loved ones. To live after the destruction; we must choose Jesus. All have sinned, so we must choose the one who never sinned: Jesus.

O bedience to Jesus is the goal in John 3. Jesus says one must be born again. Why doesn't one search the scriptures for how one can be born again? Because in John 3 Jesue says unless one is born again they cannot see the kingdom of heaven!

David, The Father always has the Son and Spirit to share infinite perfect love together. He does not have a need to love anyone outside of the Godhead. But He chooses to love those He created. There is a difference between need and volition.

So, people should be warned and false teaching should be identified and spoken as a false teaching against Scripture. You are right that the logical end of such teaching that there is no hell or that all will be saved in the end is just what you stated. No hatred for sin, rater wanton indulgence in it. No desire to walk in truth, rather following after ideas that satisfy itching ears eager to embrace the newest fad in worldly thinking. No need to share the gospel, because no one will need it to be saved. No need for the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, because He won't be saving anyone from anything. Such abhorrent teachings lead people astray, neuter the words of Christ, and appeal to the pride of man, causing one's heart to rise up in direct arrogance against God Almighty.

Aman Brother Dan I agree when Jesus saved us he expects us to keep sin and evil ideals out of our life. But the problem is we let satan use our minds as a play field and not once do we think about what is happening. If we let the spirit lead us in all things we would have a closer walk with God. For Jesus told us to strive to be purfect as he is purfect.
