Dear friends in Jesus. Is it not so that Judas have heard the word spoken by Jesus from the beginning of the journey with the Lord?

How is it possible to stand against the Word of God?

Judas have also seen all the work of God what Jesus did. How is it possible to stand against the Lord?

Could it have being any of the disciples who took food from the dish, that the devil get in to? No.

Or is this a huge picture of what money can do to ppl? Do we reely want money then and get stinginess?

I belive we can turn away from that issue, and we can be saved.

    Acts 1:25

That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

In my KJV translation is might omitted. So its like this 25) to get part in this ministry the apostolic work that Judas abused, so he could go to his own place.

He was chosen by the Lord, Judas was a Apostle like the others, for sure the King loved him. He had no choice on this question it was predetermined. Someone had to do it unfortunately.

    John 17:12

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

So i belive Judas have a place, but if its Judas Jesus talking about here, then he is lost.

    Brother Adam:

    Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Philippians 2:11 And every tongue should confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

You said when this happens you are saved.

All mankind, at some point in this age or in the ages to come, is going to bow the knee and confess Jesus is Lord, therefore all mankind will be saved.

    Romans 14:11

    Isaiah 45:23

Man cannot be in HELL and also CONFESSING JESUS IS LORD.

I felt led to add. Years ago, I actually tried to observe the Sabbath as a Christian who never had beforehand. I learned much

    1. to observe a Sabbath: you really have to plan

2 someone has to prepare beforehand

    3. Shop for things beforehand

    4. It opened my understanding of the scripture & GOD's compassion

Here are multiple scriptures on the Sabbath :

    Genesis 2:2,3 (set Sabbath apart), Exodus 16:19-30 (significant differece on Sabbath) , * Exodus 23:11, Exodus 20:11 (blessed & set apart), * Exodus 23:12, Exodus 31:15, Exodus 34:21, Exodus 35:2, Leviticus 16:29-34 (atonement), Leviticus 23:1-10, (seventh day & Passover), * Leviticus 23:21-22, Leviticus 23:27-29 (atonement), Leviticus 23:28-32, * Deuteronomy 5:14, 2 Chronicles 2:4 (forever to Israel), * Isaiah 1:11-18, * Isaiah 56:1-8, * Isaiah 58:6-14,

    Jesus observed Matthew 12:8, Mark 1:21, Mark 6:2, Mark 15:42, Luke 4:16,

    Jesus set examples on Sabbath * Matthew 12, * Mark 2, * Mark 3, * Luke 6, & many more.

    * please note the (*s) these were scriptures that showed compassion & the importance to GOD. (Opposite: Luke 11:42-46 hypocrisy)

By observing the Sabbath do we= Matthew 25:31-46,

    Sister GiGi, I quoted scripture;

Obadiah 1:21 And saviours shall come upon mount Zion to JUDGE the mount of Esau, and the kingdom shall be the LORD'S.

We are being created in the image of Christ, we will be exactly like him and will judge exactly like him.

Do you believe the saints are going to judge the word.

Psalms 149:9 To execute upon them the JUDGEMENT WRITTEN: this honour hath all the saints.

    God Bless You!

Sister GiGi. I don't have to study those doctrines, I was taught and raised to believe those doctrines, and did believe them from the time I was about 15 years old until I was about 68 years old. God cause me through circumstances he brought about to do nothing but study his word form morning to night, seven days a week, for five and a half years. I no longer believe man has free will, I no longer believe in a trinity, I believe there is a Father and a Son(s), I no longer believe that most of mankind will go to hell; but, believe Jesus was sent by the Father to save the world and the son will not fail in that commission of his Father. You are right, our beliefs will determine whether we are the ones judging the world with Christ, or the ones being judged by Christ and his elect.

Oh, Gerry, I am sorry that your cat companion is missing. I pray that this cat will find its way home to you once again soon. Our pets five us so much solace in hard times. Having a stroke is life changing! My friend had hers at age 38. it as been 27 years now. She definitely taught me to have a thankful spirit, as she has had, even though she struggles with depression as does her husband and children. She has had a rough go of life, but is an inspiration to me to work at being cheerful and grateful in all circumstances. I hope you can find such a place of mind as this amidst your troubles.

    Hi Earl,

Did you post this in attempt to counter a post I made a few hours ago?

Is it possible that you are confusing God's unconditional love for us with conditional salvation?

The verses you shared are great, but don't support an unconditional salvation.

Salvation has always been conditional, because it requires action on our part. This was the key point of nearly all the parables Jesus spoke. How to be saved. Being saved means to be saved from something that would otherwise happen. Do nothing = not saved. Follow Jesus = saved. Following Jesus means reading the Word and following the teachings, such as...

Romans 10:9 says "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

It says "If..." you do these things "...thou shalt be saved."

That is a condition. If it was not a condition, then the word "if" would not have been used. If what you're saying is true that this is not a condition then would have said to do nothing or whatever you want, because you're saved regardless. But it doesn't say that. It says the opposite of that. The Bible has many conditions. It's easy to understand what a condition is by the format: If... [you do something] then [this is the result]. In programming, an If... then... statement is called a conditional statement. That's the literal definition of

If I remember right, Earl, do you not believe in hell? If my memory is correct on that, then what is the purpose of salvation? What would you be saved FROM? The whole purpose of salvation is to be saved from hell. Even a secular dictionary gives the definition of salvation as "preservation from destruction or failure."

I'm not sure if anything I wrote will influence your opinion whatsoever, but at least I will have tried. God bless.

    David and Jesse, Great exchange!

We have been given all of our senses, and faculties of mind (thought, reason), and our souls, to experience and know what God has revealed to us. When the Spirit regenerates us, we then have the spiritual ability to truly understand these revelations because the Holy Spirit resides in us to teach and guide us, to correct and discipline us, to sanctify and change us, to attest in us the Truth of God, and to warn us when we are not following revealed Truth.

Thank you, Chris, for your statement here. You have defined the problem with such doctrines espoused by people such as these well. I guess, for me, having been on this site for only a month, perhaps the best place to start when processing divergent beliefs about vital topics is to go back to the basics and the beginning. "In the beginning God created.." Determining Who God is and what He is like is the foundation of our faith. If we get that wrong, we will get it wrong about Jesus and the salvation He won for us. So, I encourage everyone on here to go back to the basics and the beginning, and lay the foundation of our faith as Christians on what is true about the God we trust, love, and serve.

You have done a loving thing to address these people in this manner.

Yes, there were giants in the earth or on the earth. These giants were from the sons of God, these sons of God were angels. When God created Adam God made Adam in his image. So, Adam was one of the sons of God. Genesis 6: 2 tells us that the sons of God took them wives of all which they chose. The Angels have a freewill just as you do, they can choose to serve God are not, just as humans can choose to serve God are not, and if a human or angel refuses to serve God the angel is sent to the bottomless pit chained, and the human that refuses to serve God when he dies is sent to hell.

    Genesis 6: 1- 6

1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

    God Bless

    Earl,

I do not believe that Jesus was only a man and that He received the Holy Spirit at His baptism. I do not believe that He was only a man that was filled with God at His baptism. These views have been denounced as heresies throughout the centuries. To believe that Jesus was only human, then such belief denies that He was divine, as well from birth. Denying the divinity of Jesus denies that He pre-existed for all of eternity in the Trinitarian Godhead for all eternity and never had a beginning as God the Son. If Jesus died as only a human, His sacrifice could only reconcile man to man, not man to God. But, the church has affirmed that Jesus was fully human and fully divine in one nature (without mixing the natures to become a third type of nature). It is this human/divine nature that made his sacrifice efficacious for mankind by being a perfectly sinless man and perfectly and equally divine Son of God, (as the Father and the Spirit are perfectly and equally divine) He was able to satisfy what God required of man to be in right relationship with God (which no other human can be) and being divine, He is able to reconcile us to God and raise up us up to have union with God, as He promised at the Last Supper as He prayed. John 17:20-23. Christian orthodox teaching has stated that our Savior is equally human and divine because that is what was necessary for mankind to be fully redeemed to what God willed for us to become in Him.

Earl, I know that we will agree to disagree on this, but I do think that it is vital for believers to know correct doctrine, and I contend for the orthodox teachings of the church because it is important to refute heretical ideas. We cannot both be correct in this. If you are willing, you may want to study the various heresies rejected by the church over the centuries concerning the nature of Jesus Christ as to what the heretics taught about this topic, and what the church pointed out as the error in the heretics teaching.

    Blessings, always.

I have to disagree with you

Judas said he betrayed and innocent man and repented

He returned the money and left

    And hung himself

He could not accept what he did

But you forget Jesus said that what Judas did had to happen to fulfill the scriptures

The priest buried the money in the field that judas hanged himself

How long did hang on that tree

Neither you or me know that

But after death the body will decay fast

You first recognize you are a sinnner

    Then repent

Do you or anyone know that Judas was forgiven by Jesus Christ

    No

But I believe Jesus loved everyone

    Jesus is god

Much bigger than you or I

Where do you see in Bible that Judas was always possessed with the devil

Read the Bible that at the moment Judas dipped there hands in the bowl

    Satan immediately entered into Judas

So he was not there before

Jesus was beaten spit on and had to carry his own cross he was nailed to the cross and buried and arose in three days

He suffered in hell for 3 days

For us who are all sinners

Remember the man on the cross Jesus said today you will be with me in paradise

God the father god the son and the Holy Spirit are the same

So Judas is the only person who could not be forgiven

You see I am only asking a question

    Not challenging gods word

I am a Christian and love god with all my heart with all my soul with all my mind

And Thank god giving me the privilege of being a physician to serve god in that compasity

I hate the thought of anyone going to hell

So do I known the way Judas went

    I believe in redemption

We all will know one day

I just want everyone will go to heaven

But god gave us free will

All I can do is pray for the lost

    And witness

God will judge all the unrighteousness

    One day

I know without a doubt Jesus saved me

Can I not wish the same for all of us sinners

I am under not illusion that there is a hell

Bless you my brother in Jesus Christ

    Have a wonderful Christmas

  • Chris - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 4 years ago
Brother Rick, using either 'devils' or 'demons' is quite acceptable as the meaning is the same. It's just that the older translations (KJV, Tyndale Bible, Geneva Bible, etc.) use 'devils', whereas the newer translations use 'demons'. Maybe this was done to allay any misunderstanding between the devil himself & his 'demons', as some might think of 'devils' as many of the same hierarchy & control as Satan. Personally, I wouldn't judge anyone for choosing 'demon' to correctly describe those evil spirits that followed Satan & do his works on the Earth.

  • There is POWER IN JESUS NAME and His BLOOD. - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 4 years ago
I guess I say both. Probably because of books I read in the past. You're right. The word isn't in the Bible. When I pray, I say evil spirit.

One told Jesus it's name was Legion, "because we are many."

    Acts 19:15

And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

I think most important is to not respond in any way other than HOW Jesus demonstrates (or Paul) in the scriptures. In my experience, they respect the name of Jesus and his shed blood. I don't like talking about it.

I was newborn Christian and I had to fight back. They will not cross the blood of Jesus. I was accused for having practiced astrology. I didn't have Bible knowledge yet. I had the Holy Spirit tell me to plead the Blood.
  • Leland Kendrick md - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
No Jesus was not born with the spirit

God the father god the Holy Spirit

    One and the same

John chapter 1 verse 1 and verse 2

In the beginning was the word the word was with god and the word was god

    2. The same was in the with god

3.all things that were made by him

And without him was not anything made that was made

4 in him was life and the life was light of men

Which means god the father god the son and god the Holy Ghost

Which are the same had no beginning and had no end

Jesus obviously did have the spirit

And Jesus had no beginning and no end

    Bless you

Hello John. The Bible that you can read on this Site, is the King James Version & it is different from the Catholic Edition of the Bible. Its chief difference is the inclusion of seven apocryphal books interspersed within the Old Testament of the Bible. Otherwise, apart from some slight differences & word usage, they are very similar.
  • Chris - In Reply - 4 years ago
Brother Earl. The Greek word for 'Convince' that you're seeing in Jude 15 is 'elegcho'. And this means 'to convict, reprove, expose, rebuke, discipline'.

The word that you believe it means is 'peitho', meaning, 'to persuade, urge, convince' (as in 2 Corinthians 5:11). Therefore, Jude 1:14,15 speaks of the Lord coming with His saints to carry out judgement & convict & expose the remnant ungodly upon the Earth. That they might know clearly their sins & their rightful judgement forever banished from the presence of the Lord, just as Sodom & Gomorrah "suffering the vengeance of eternal fire" ( Jude 7).

    IS SALVATION CONDITIONAL OR UNCONDITIONAL

Romans 5:8 For God commendeth his love for us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

No conditions were put on man to be save, it's a gift of God. You were saved before you were ever born and before you ever sinned. ( Romans 9:11)

Grace is Grace and Mercy is Mercy.

Revelation 22:12 And behold I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as HIS WORK shall be.

Matthew 7:22 .... have we not done many wonderful WORKS

Matthew 7:22 ..... depart from me ye workers of iniquity .... this is man's reward, for man's work...

Amen Sister GiGI, I knew you would disagree, but there is coming a time when, ALL WILL BE IN UNITY.

All of this is God's plan, he has set brother against brother and sister against sister. This teaches us, the fruits of the spirit.

Our thanks to the all knowing God.
  • Chris - In Reply - 4 years ago
Brother Alex. I've been following your comments for many months now. The problem that you have in getting your points across to many of us is because of your definition of biblical terms & Truth.

People like Earl will appreciate what you write because he appears to understand the Bible in a similar fashion as you do. And I doubt that any amount of wordy exchanges between us would convince one side or the other to the other's belief.

In the matters of rebirth, hell, Lake of Fire, judgement, the Holy Spirit being a grandson, even the purposes & accomplishments of the Cross, most will always find disagreement with you. And this is because your definition of those doctrines are in variance to what the Bible teaches. If the foundation is not clear & firm, anything we build on it will not be the same & become increasingly divergent. So Bible verses will no longer mean what they're intended to mean & other meanings have to be forced to make them align with our beliefs.

Let us not diminish the "offence of the Cross". Satan rejoices that an easy path to salvation is presented because he knows that path leads to destruction. The Cross has & always will give forgiveness & hope to the convicted sinner, not a wishy-washy false hope that in the end all will be well. The Cross gives more than God's required payment for our sins - it saves us from an eternity of never-ending torment. If it were not so, there would be no need for such a great sacrifice & the offence of the Cross would have ceased. May we all be careful on how we read, interpret, & share from the Word.

    WHAT HAPPENS AT JUDGEMENT

Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, PROPHESIED of these, saying, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

Jude 1:15 To execute judgement upon all, and to CONVINCE ALL that are ungodly among them of their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

What happens when Christ, through judgements, convinces them that they are ungodly:

Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess him as Lord.

Isaiah 26:9 ...for when thy judgements are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Psalms 22:27 And all the ends of the earth shall REMEMBER and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of nations shall worship before thee.

    Jesus CAME TO SAVE SINNERS.
