Hi Bennymkje , I understand what you are saying and to a very large extent agree with you . I do always wonder though , how Mary must have felt when the angel that spoke to her revealed that his name was Gabriel . She being a devoted lady would have caught her breath at that name , knowing it was the same angel that spoke to Daniel many many years before . Of course you are correct that if we are not told something then it's because we don't need to know it , but the converse is true , if we are told something then it's because God wants us to know it , just like He wanted Mary to know that the angel that spoke to her was the same one that spoke to Daniel .

Thank you to all the commentors above and may God Bless You for your prayers for our family. Thanksgiving 2023 just passed and we really didn't have the heart to celebrate since Aaron died on Thanksgiving. We're taking it one day at a time. I remember my mom losing two of her children (as children); one by crib death and the other when a neighbor accidentally backed over her with a car. I remember the whole family nearly lost our minds and nobody would dare talk about it; thusly we all kept our feeling to ourselves as well as our guilt. In talking to my siblings years later each one blamed themselves for her death. No counseling, therapy, etc. Not the way it should be. My mom and dad both born again Christians and dad a preacher but they never were the same. I'll never forget my dad saying at her funeral: "I don't know why this had to happen but I think God just plucked her from this old world and transplanted my baby in his garden in Heaven" Now, Dad has gone on and is with his two babies and a grown son. Loss is so hard even when we know it's for the best ultimately. Pray for my family and the lost.

Why does the Lord's Prayer say: "in earth" instead of "on earth"?

    Matt.8:1-4 "Testimony"

"When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him./And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean./And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed."

4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

Jesus came as the good gift, mentioned in previous chapter,"How much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" (7:11). The leper just found it out. He asked and he received healing. Somilarly at Capernaum a centurion would come knocking and the door of salvation was opened to him. (vv.5-13).His faith was such the nation of Israel ought to have been ashamed. This was also a testimony for their nation's downward spiral. His Advent did not give them a cloak for their sin. He was the true Light and they certainly did everything to put him out.

From this chapter onwards the Evangelist reveals Jesus demonstrating the holiness of God as the Word become flesh. His death and resurrection are according to the Scriptures. Doctrine of God is that of Christ since he perfected the will of his Father. "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."(5:17-18) He told the leper who was healed to testify to the fact 'as a testimony to them'. Till he had fulfilled his Father's will he was obliged to fulfill the law. Similarly when Jesus fed the multitude the testimony of 12 baskets of broken pieces remaining was his testimony before his Father.

    Hello Carleton,

Where the Spirit has chosen to draw a veil over matters like angels, he has done for a purpose. 2 Ti.3:1r. Does knowing the identity of ministering angels and under which order they operate help instructing us in righteousness?(Ps.104:4) Neither does the 666. He is son of perdition denying glory of God in body, spirit and soul Nothing more we need know. When we are asked to judge angels all matters shall be given so we judge them as the Son himself would do. (1 Co.6:3). First win salvation of our souls, and not before.

Till then Michael is a just a name, a prince of angelic order; so is Gabriel.

    Hi Francene.

My thoughts on your question is , what you seemed to of been taught is not scripturally sound.

No where in the Bible is there scripture stating what you referenced.

Therefore it has no scriptural Foundation.

    Scriptures say, it (was) void

    Not that it (became) void

Let the Holyspirit guide you ,and pray for understanding.

I pray that the lord Bless you greatly.

    I love you all.

There's always alot of speculation and or ideas ,

    About who they could be.

But only our Heavenly Father knows.

Moses was a law giver, Jesus was a law giver as well. The old laws of Moses nobody coukd keep the sabbath day. Just like today, the moment you get out of bed you broke the Sabbath day. It is not a pick and choose gospel, you keep the Sabbath day you are responsible for the whole book of Leviticus. Jesus became our rest as we rest in his words as the Sabbath day was a day of rest. When you are resting you are not sinning. We sin no more in Christ as he is our rest as God tge Father of Jesus is resting in the words of his Son Jesus. Those days are long gone as Jesus is now Lord of the Sabbath as he is the head of the Sabbath day for rest sake.

Hebrews 4:[8] For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

[9] There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

[10] For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

[11] Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Rev 14:13] And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

James 2:10] For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

    Brother Spencer,

Very well said. I like that you included Revelation 1:8. These are the words of the Lord Jesus Christ. He says, "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending." Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. As it says here, it is the beginning of the alphabet, and the end of the alphabet.

It is interesting that if you've ever studied the Hebrew sages and their interest in the beginning and end of the alphabet, in between those two, you have all the letters you need to express and put things into words and communicate with. So, they put a lot of emphasis on the alphabet. God is said to be the Alpha and Omega. He is the beginning of everything, and He is the end of everything.

But that's only one meaning. By using the first and last letters of the alphabet, it's also saying He's everything else in between. He's everything that you can put into words about creation and God. He's everything. He's at the beginning of everything, at the end of everything, and He's everything in between!

But then He repeats. After He says I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, He adds the phrase the Almighty. Wait a minute. That's from God the Father up in Revelation 1:4. Now Jesus is saying it. Very interesting!

Jesus says I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, the one who is, and was, and is to come. I am the almighty. Literally in the Greek text, it's the one who is, the one who was, and the one who is coming. It's all one person!

To the Jews, that's a designation of God. It's an expanded paraphrase of the name of God that God gave to Moses back in Exodus 3:14. And so that's why when we go through the gospels, whenever Jesus would say to people I AM, and of course the translators of the bible put "he" in italics to complete the sentence, only Jesus wasn't saying a sentence. He wasn't saying I am He. He was saying the name of God, I AM!

    God Bless

    GiGi,

Amen! In John Chapter 1, there are three principles I see being taught about Jesus. Not in the beginning, but EN ARCHAE (In beginning), Jesus was in existence, and in equality, and in essence.

Existence - The only begotten Son Existed in the bosom of the Father.

Equality - Bosom of the Father means that He is one with Him.

Essence - God in human form.

In other words, if anybody wants to know about God, they go to Jesus Christ. He is not just a prophet. He's not just a rabbi. In the Christian faith and Biblical Christianity, He is God in the flesh, 100% God, 100% man!

    God Bless!!!

Hi Momsage. I have been following this thread by Biblepreacher12 & won't add much to it. All I would ask is, 'what part or ministry does the Holy Spirit exercise in the life of the born again child of God?' Why I ask this, is because in your comments, you've written much about the Ten Commandments & their currency, but nothing about the Holy Spirit's Ministry - so wasn't sure if you take this into account & if so, how do you do so.

What I'm leading to here, is the very limited list of commands given by God to Israel, which certainly doesn't cover the range of sins that man commits (e.g. pride, anger, lust, hypocrisy, deceit, etc). Israel failed in just obeying these few commandments (especially the first two), & we're reminded in James 2:10-12 that "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all..."; such was the outcome of disobedience to it.

Therefore, given that the Decalogue was limited in content & purpose & also the bringing forth of the Everlasting Covenant given through Jesus' Blood, (WITH the Holy Spirit's Ministry in the child of God), I remain wondering as to why the Decalogue must have such great importance to a child of God, when the Spirit adds not only the FULL range of God's Commands, but also gives the believer the power to live them out unto God - something that Israel could not do.

The Decalogue was never designed for this purpose; and Paul reminds us in Romans 8:3,4, that the Law failed in its ability to bring about righteousness, but to be right with God, we walk not after the flesh but by the Spirit. And this new walk by the Spirit is according to the Law of the Spirit ( Romans 8:2) - and His Law(s) have set us free from the Law of sin which brought death (all the Laws under the Old Covenant). How would you reconcile these Scriptures of the Spirit's Work in a believer's life with your position of following the Old Covenant of Laws? Blessings.

    Hello Ronald,

Yes, this has been discussed before. There are those who believe Jesus is God, and those who don't. I know where you stand, and you know where I stand. I'm glad to know that you also disagree with both the Mormon and JW's view on who Jesus is. Many cult groups deny the deity of Jesus Christ, and also deny that He is God.

I wasn't speaking about the trinity although I believe in a Triune God. This comes mainly from Colossians 2:9. I'm not sure if there's a clearer statement than that! In Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in bodily form! In 1 John 5:20, there are two great statements of fact; Jesus Christ is the true God, and He is the eternal life!

I didn't know that today in Christianity, salvation is dependent on the belief in the Trinity doctrine. I stand with you when I say that I don't believe that is a requirement for salvation. The bible teaches that salvation is obtained by surrendering one's life to Jesus Christ and being born from above.

Your questions are fair and might challenge someone to question their belief as Jesus being God. A fair question was also asked in Mark 2:5-8. To a man who was sick of the palsy, Jesus said, "thy sins be forgiven thee." For that, the scribes accused Jesus of blasphemy. Their question was "Who can forgive sins but God only?" Good question! God is the only one who can forgive sins, so why is this man (Jesus) committing blasphemy?

This is not the first time He was accused of blasphemy. He was accused of blasphemy for making Himself equal with God, claiming to be the Son of God, which to those who heard Him, they understood very well that the phrase "Son of God" was the same as claiming to be God. So, they had every right to accuse Him of blasphemy, unless of course Jesus was (and is) God, which I believe He is!

Ronald, thank you so much for reading my original 2-part post, and thank you for sharing your belief on this important topic. Blessings to you also!

    The slave market of sin

In today's society; we have found a way to extricate our minds from within when it comes to the subject of slavery. What happened hundreds of years ago is someone else's problem or said to be our fault by default as to our race. Closer to home now; of course is the continuing servitude particularly of the sex trade today and that brings attention to the revenue of such a trade.

That; of course comes from those who would exploit such an industry who themselves in actuality are slaves to sin.

Revelation makes it clear; unfortunately that slaves will exist in the end times will exist ( Rev. 6:15). At that time they will be clumped together with all those who attempt to hide from God.

Christ has redeemed us from our state of hopelessness and given us a new life. We have turned from Satan as our master to the Living God ( Ephesians 2:2). A truly redeemed child of God can read a passage such as Isaiah 66:24 and understand how they themselves were an abhorrence in their lost; sinful state. To know that we were under His wrath we proclaim the salvation message. Those who are condemned already ( John 3:18) are not known to us immediately; eventually it will be clear who is saved and who isn't at least by judgment Day. Such amazing love of Christ should motivate us to share the Gospel with others.

I am convinced one reason more people aren't sharing with much conviction is because they have become dumbed down to just how wicked they were; forgotten what they were saved from or in the worst case scenario are really not saved at all but following a form of godliness but denying the power thereof ( 2 Tim. 3:5). It is sobering to remind ourselves that as believers that scripture warns us to stay AWAY from such people.

Satan; I always say is an equal opportunity destroyer. He will take any sin; as seemingly innocuous as gossip and turn it into a full scale conflagration (see warnings in James 3:6). Only Christ frees us from slavery.

Good evening Bennymkje, I think too Michael as an angel of God had purpose in provisional protection of the people of God before Christ was born. Even true if and when the people of God opposed themselves being led by God to Christ. Have wondered if Daniel's three weeks of mourning was in the way? Perhaps Michael in 12:1 separated natural Israel from spiritual Israel as he added that he stands "for the children of thy people" thinking of new born. I think of Michael like a dam that attempts to divert Israel to spiritual first before a natural destruction.

    The Terror of the Lord

    Revelation 14:9-11

9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

About 15 years ago and several times before that I had a vision of the pure terror involved with the mark of the Beast. I have since told people that I would ask the Lord would give them such insight but not for those who aren't spiritually strong. The Lord has held back the day of Judgment, but it is promised to be worse than any time in the past and future. Mark 13:19 as well as other New Testament passages and Daniel 12 show proof of this. Without Christ we are dragged in; to the sieve of destruction ( Isaiah 30:28). Suddenly the wicked are broken and that without remedy ( Prov. 6:15).

To realize how fearful judgment is apart from Christ I cannot put into words. When we see Mystery Babylon we can't help but be reminded of the American Pie song with its lyrics

I went down to the sacred store

Where I'd heard the music years before

But the man there said the music wouldn't play

These remind us of Ecclesiastes 12:4 as well as Lamentations 5:14 along with other stanzas in this song about the Lord taking off and no more joyful music as stated in Revelation 18:22. We are hypnotized by music and media today and its demonic mantras and dulled in our senses with the vulgar obsenities that increasingly assail the rightous. The agenda is out in the open at this point; Satan's hour is about to arrive. Christ comes soon so rejoice

Hello Francene777. The answer you seek is difficult to give since the Bible does not divulge any more information than what is given in the first chapter of Genesis. In regards to what you learned about this, that the Earth lost its form & became void when Satan decided to rule, we have been given no timeline as to when Satan was cast out of Heaven & whether being cast out, the Earth became uninhabitable. So, it can only be speculation on this matter.

For your thoughts though: the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:4 wrote, "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them". Satan is considered the 'god of this world', not that he usurpes the True God's creative, sustaining ownership of this Earth, but that Satan as a roaring, prowling lion, constantly seeks to infiltrate the minds of people towards sin & estrangement from God. So I ask myself, 'if Satan is still free to roam & deceive the hearts of men, why doesn't this beautifully formed & filled Earth become corrupt again as it did in Genesis 1:2?" Surely, if the Earth was created by God in perfect form & fullness at the first, then became corrupted by Satan's presence, it follows that it should then return to a corrupted formless state. But as far as I can see, this is still a beautiful Earth that we have been given, to which Satan has no power over. Maybe worth considering.

    Hi Jema.

This is a great topic, being that we all have dealt with having to forgive someone and also have had to be forgiven ourselves.

Your question, "How do we let go of the pain" is a good question!

I believe a good example of what is expected of us is seen in

    Matthew 18:21-35.

The problem is how do we accomplish this?

I believe you answered your own question. PRAYER!

I would add humility to that.

If we humble ourselves and be truthful we all trespass against the Lord and we beg for his forgiveness.

God don't just forgive us, he is longsuffering and he has mercy on us.

We don't measure up to that standard so we also trespass in return.

To demonstrate this kind of display is a virtue of Love.

This is a area we grow in.

When we put forward the effort to perform it, by the enrichment of the Spirit we achieve it.

    Pain turns into compassion.

When that person hurts over what they've done, you share that hurt with them and feel sorry for them.

However, when they're not sorry for what they do this may be something we can not get over without God's strengthening.

When this trespass is done over and over again this act becomes a reckoning.

It is who that person is and it defines the times we live in.

It is who we once were also and probably behave that way still.

This is where we examine ourselves considering Galatians 6:1

"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; CONSIDERING THYSELF, LEST THOU ALSO BE TEMPTED.

If this is not a Brother or Sister it may be a chance to witness.

Galatians 6:9 "And LET US NOT BE WEARY IN WELL DOING: FOR IN DUE SEASON WE SHALL REAP, if we faint not.

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

    God bless you Jema.

I'm sure this is an area we all come up short in but we all should be growing in.

Praise God for his longsuffering and Mercy.

I made a mistake about age of Sarah at her death. She was 127 years old when she died and not 128. This meant that Issac could have been as old as 37 at her death, and possibly as young as 36, depending on the exact dates of Sarah's birth and death and the exact date of Issac's birth.

If God asked Abraham to sacrifice Issac 3 years earlier on the evening of Passover and Abraham received Issac back as from the dead three days later, Issac could have been 34 years old, and possibly as young as 33 years old at that time. In any case, this would probably match up very well with the likely age that Jesus was when He died and rose again.

A 3 year separation of the death of Sarah and Abraham's purchase of the cave for her burial as his first and only possession in the land from Issac being offered and restored from death certainly is possible and would be fitting in many ways if that occurred, but I do acknowledge that the Scriptures don't give sufficient details to prove that that is the exact amount of time that passed between the two events.

Moses didn't write the laws - God did. Moses just delivered them. You're contempt and total disregard for them is dangerous.

Jesus gave us 2 "new" commandments, not new as in abolishing the old, but to look at the old in a new, more concise way. The first covers the first 4 commandments, how to worship God, and the second cover how to treat others with God's unconditional love. Jesus lived the 10 commands.

No scripture tells the church to start worshiping on the 1st day of the week. No verse tells the church that our rest in Jesus takes the place of the 4th commandment. The laws of sacrifice were replaced by the sacrifice of Christ's blood on the cross so were no longer necessary but the commandments where not, else how would man know how to l live righteously? Christ's salvation gives us the way to forgiveness of our sins but how dose man know what righteous is without the laws of God? After the sin of Adam and the world was cursed, mankind has had a difficult time following God's law, even after Jesus' paid the price for our because mankind still sins without the blood of Jesus washing them away. You seem to not have any regard for any of the commandments not just the 4th and yet they tell us plainly what sin is. How do we know if we don't have them? Again, I believe the bible shows us Jesus obeyed His Father's laws even the 4th. Jesus' teachings of righteousness were based on the 10 commandments. Show me where HE put these law's of His Father in such contempt? In Romans 1: 29-32 the verses give a list of the unrighteousness of men to the point of becoming reprobates. Study each one and you can see they are based on all 10 commandments. My prayers are with you.

    1) The 10 commands are not the "the law of Moses, they are the laws of God and, where in scripture are we told we can change any of them? I have yet to see one definitive scripture that says the church changed the meaning of the Sabbath (the 6th day) to the 7th day. Christ is our spiritual rest 24/7 but we are to also rest on one particular day that God commanded us to. There are no definitive verses that tell us that Jesus didn't worship on Saturday, or the church either. The church met on Sunday to do other things but that wouldn't have been their day of rest. However, I can give you a definitive verse that tells us what day to keep holy: the Sabbath. Ex. 20:8.

When Jesus gave us His 2 commandments they were new as in looking at the 10 in a different way, not abolishing the 10. The first commandment He gave follows the first 4 commands, how we are to worship God, and the second follows the last 6 in how we are to treat others.

Paul list the sins that are covered by God's law In Romans 1:29-32 " 29)Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30)Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31)Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32)Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." How would they know the things that were worthy of death without the laws of God telling them so? All of the teachings of Christ are based on the Laws of God. God commanded us to remember the 6th day as our day of rest, because by holding to the commandment it would have set His church apart instead we have let the Catholic Church tell us when to do it. See "Who Changed the Day of Worship ....." by Eddie Foster. A commandment of God is a Commandment of God.

    Hadassah,

Please check an early reference to Michael, "But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia."(Dan.10:13). Again fast forward to post-Rapture. "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,"(Re.12:7) The entire chapter as seen by St John is a series of vignettes, The church called to hold a position in heavenly places. After the man-child is caught up to the throne the same war in heaven spills over to thee earth. The left behind church is brought to the wilderness. One swallow does not make a summer. Dan.12:1 refers to the great tribulation, which great as it is indeed tribulation is bearable. Having quenched the indwelling Spirit the apostate church has no remedy for the age of grace is at an end. Death for a martyr is joyous since the grace of God makes his vision as in case of St Stephen beatific. (Ac.7:56)

    Hi Jesse,

"But the importance is that everybody must settle it in their own hearts and minds about who Jesus is." So true. This has been discussed I think most know my understanding on this.

Was He just a great man? 1 Timothy 2:5 Numbers 23:19 1 Hosea 11:19 Corinthians 15:21-22 Was He just a great teacher? John 3:2 Was He a great healer? Luke 4:18-19 Was He a prophet? Deuteronomy 18:18 Was He the brother of Satan? No, He is the only begotten Son, John 3:16 1 John 4:14. Was He Michael the archangel? No, Hebrews 1:5. Or was He God in the flesh? 1 Timothy 3:16 manifest, (make clear, make known) John 5:19. Did Peter give the right answer? Yes.

This doctrine was developed almost 400 years after Jesus's crucifixion, today in Christianity salvation is dependent on the belief in the Trinity doctrine. If that is true. Why is it not taught anywhere in the New Testament?

If Jesus is God why would God have to anoint Him with His Spirit? Did Jesus do the works and the miracles or did God the Father by His Spirit/Holy Spirit? Is salvation at the mercy of the belief in the Trinity doctrine? Did Jesus say the Father was His God? Could God fulfill the law that was made for man? Did God give Himself or His Son that we would not perish? If we say Jesus is God, do we deny the Son?

Jesus said this, John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

    Acts 4:12 God bless,
