I believe that God is a Trinity of One God in three Persons, Father, son, and Holy Spirit. Not as you are saying, which is "Oneness" doctrine that Jesus is the Father, and Jesus is the 'Son, and Jesus is the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures does not teach this. I tis false teaching.
Just want to make one correction. Judah was in Israel in Jesus' time. They returned after the Babylonian captivity. But we scattered from Israel when the Romans sacked Jerusalem in 70 A.D. They were scattered all over the globe and Israel ceased to exist until 1948. Some think that this is not a true Israel return, others accept it. For me, I will let God determine that. I pray that He will send evangelists to Israel and preach the gospel boldly there.
God's blessing on you today.
Good question. You are born again when the you respond to the faith that the Holy Spirit plants in you when you hear the gospel message. You receive the gospel into your being as Truth, and Holy Spirit will work in you the repentance from sin. Ideally, one would be baptized shortly after receiving the gospel in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. This is the teaching of the New Testament church, but this was not without exceptions. Paul was born again when he encountered Christ on the road to Damascus. He received the Holy Spirit when Ananias laid hands on him and prayed for Him, and Ananias baptized Paul in water subsequently. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is our guarantee that we have been saved in and through Jesus Christ. Baptism in water is our public confession that we have received salvation in Jesus.
Some people have a definitive conversion experience or dramatic. Others like me, not so. I was baptized as an infant and raised by believing parents, so I have always believed in Jesus as far back as I can remember. As I grew older, I also grew in faith and understanding of God and his salvic work in me. When I was in college, I chose to be baptized again because I understood it as a profession of faith already resident in me. But if I hadn't been rebaptized, I believe that my first baptism was within God's will as well. There is nothing in Scripture that says we can only be baptized once.
So, I am wondering, have you been saved? Do you believe that Jesus has saved you from sin, death, hell, and the evil one? Do you know that you have the Holy Spirit in you? You do if you are a believer. He lives in you when you first believe. In fact the Holy Spirit does in you all that is needed to be saved. He regenerates you. He brings you the gospel for you to hear or read. He provides grace to save you. This grace implants faith in you so you can believe. He comes into you to dwell when you believe. He forgives all of your sins.
I am surprised that you have not had any responses on this post. Most would say that this is concerning the rapture. Others say that this is what will happen when Christ return at the end of the age and we meet Him in the air. I lean towards the second interpretation. The one taken is the one who will be caught with Jesus with a transformed body. The one left is an unbeliever.
If you are a believer in Jesus, you are in a knowing relationship with God and you will grow to know Him more and more as you walk with Him daily. But if you are also wanting to know more about what God is like, you can google: The Attributes of God and choose an obvious Christian site to study about those.
I think that Jesus said that the commandment to Love the Lord your God wit all of you heart, soul, mind, and strength. And to love your neighbor as yourself, sum up what was taught in Matthew 5-7.
What are your thoughts?
But also, I think about what I need to do if I am in a position to teach youth (or children). Would the length of my hair cause anyone to doubt other instructions in the Bible when they read this verse? I wore my hair long when I taught youth and children in church for this reason. Now I have a Muslim daughter in law. God, She covers her hair with a scarf and wears long sleeves. I ask God, how do I honor her culture/faith while still exercising liberty in Christ? So, if she is offended that my hair isn't covered, I will have her teach me to cover my head with a scarf as she does. It is all about my witness. I have no problem with wearing my hair long or wearing a scarf in church. That is not a difficult teaching for me to follow. I do not think that it should necessarily be done by all women in all churches. But we should have a willing heart to follow these inspired instructions from the apostles if it will allow us to be all things to all people, that some might come to believe.
I hope you are considering professional help. A Christian counselor may help you with counseling and medication to help you with your despairing thoughts and negative voices in you mind. God uses such people to help people like you.
A simple prayer like, Jesus, "I believe, but help me in my unbelief" will be answered by God. He will come and save you. e loves you 24/7 and desires for you to return to Him and be made whole again.
My heart hurts for you as you are having such immense struggles on many fronts. Get the front of faith set aright through prayer and the Lord will work with you on the other fronts.
I am sure of this. Let me know how you are doing, please?
Your post is very good. I hope it will sink into Nic's heart and bear fruit unto salvation for her.
Nic, it sounds like you are despairing for life. Please seek professional help for your condition.
My son has anxiety/depressive disorder and meds and counseling do help him combat the negative voices in his head and the overwhelming anxiety.
How are you doing now.
The fact that you are on this site asking these questions show that you want God to help you. Run to Jesus now. He will receive you. Have you been seen by a doctor for this mental illness? I suggest you consider doing that. Your life is worth living and living in Christ is worth all the marbles. I will pray for you along with others on this site. Please, post often so we continue to support you.
John 14:17 ....but you know him, for he dwelleth with you, and shall BE IN YOU.
Jesus came the second time in the form of the Holy Ghost and it happened at Pentecost.
Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once (first coming) offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them who look for him shall he appear the second time (as the Holy Ghost) without sin unto salvation.
You never see the thief in the night, you never see the Holy Ghost. This is the reason so many miss his coming, they are looking for the physical. The culmination of the second coming will end with him and the elect standing in the flesh to judge the world. The AGE of GRACE will be over, and the AGE of JUDGEMENT will begin.
Good night.
God bless.
We know All of Revelation is not in sequence but most is.
But the sequences in Revelation 22 comes after the sequences in Revelation 20!!
Here's why.
Revelation 22:3-7, 10-11. And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
AND HE SAITH UNTO ME, SEAL NOT THE SAYINGS OF THE PROPHECY OF THIS BOOK: FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND.
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
You see what happens when you symbolize ALL the scriptures?
When you do away with ALL the literal you have no ROCK to stand on!!
When the scripture is not allowed to say what it says you can't research them. The scripture needs to be taken/seriously first and if it's a symbol that symbol is explained elsewhere in scripture in literal form.
If you take the whole counsel of God it presents a narrow path and a message that is in harmony with foundation laid.
We must be careful heresies started creeping in the Church in Paul and John's Day. These same Debates we're having today was Debated in the first Century.
Certain terms were defined differently. They wrote about what they believed but isn't to be considered inspired.
We have to take what we have as scripture as inspired.
God bless.
I agree. He will come back bodily. Everyone will see Him with their natural eyes. What He will look like, we don't know, but we definitely will know that it is Jesus and nobody else.
