Sheila you are wrong water baptisim does not save, only the blood

of jesus christ. col 1-14 in whom we have redemtion through his

blood even the forgiveness of sins, not water but the blood saves sinners, the thief

on the cross did not need water he needed the blood of jesus christ to forgive

him, once you have been born again spiritually you will want to obey gods

commands of baptisim but it does not save you from hell, repent and believe the

gospel saves the sinner, churches are teaching you false teaching you are either

oneness heresy or church of christ heresy. repent of this lie. heb 9-22 without the shedding

of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

I said my piece, and (respectfully) I don't want to be lectured to. I'm military and I try to keep it simple (KISS). So again, I think the conversation has gotten too complicated, and off subject. On the other hand, it's good to think and research God's Word. God bless you.

    The conclusion of all things.

    Revelation 22:1-7.

Let's skip ahead to 2 neglected verses.

Revelation 22:10-11. And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Here's where the unjust will remain unjust, and the just will remain just. Meaning judgement is past tense by the time we get here.

Revelation 22:12. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. Sounds familiar? ( 1 Corinthians 3:14-15.)

Revelation 22:14-15. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Verse 14 we have the redeemed! They're the just that will stay just mentioned in verse 11. How did they do his commandments? By Atonement!

    Romans 3:24-28.

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

    Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

    Also: 1 John 2:1-2.

    And Hebrews 10:14-17.

    Revelation 5:9. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

    God bless.

Thank you David, for your good response.

I too, do not go around each day ready for a fight or worrying about my sins. The Scripture says that the Holy Spirit contends against the sinful flesh ( Galatians 5:17). The battle is the Spirits, not ours. But there are times when the Spirit reveals to use a sinful tendency or habitual action and it grieves us, as it did Paul, because we do not want any area of our lives to be controlled by sin. I do believe that believers do sin, but the Spirit will not allow us to be happy in sinning, and will prompt us to repent and ask for forgiveness. I pray and ask God to replace this sin with a godly action next time I am in a situation where I may be tempted. I know people who are believers who do participating in ongoing sin. For example, people who continue to lie, gossip, cuss, or have sex with their boyfriends or girlfriend. Some sinful patterns are hard to break when someone wants to, and some believers don't admit that wat they continue to do is sinful, and so, do not repent. I think this may be the case for more believers than not. We all have to grow in godliness in this life. The Spirit helps us.

  • David - In Reply on John 21 - 4 years ago
MY view of this biblically God is all love but also a God of Justice and that requires a payment for actions against the laws he set up to work and protect creation and man. When man bucks against Gods laws or justice system God lifts his hand of love grace mercy peace and power and the individual sets himself up to the adversaries destructive influence.

God cannot being just cannot override freedom of will because that would be against his own rules which would make him a hypocrite, let him be true. Now His and our arch enemy the adversary knows all this and uses this to his

advantage to get people to blame God for things he does, remember true God life giving the devil author of destruction and death. The reason why so much stuff is occurring is because the farther man walks away from Gods word of life the more the god of this world gets to work his influence. For those of us who believe and stand on Gods Word In Christ we literally

slow down or at times stop this destructive influence, except to those that absolutely appose God. In the end there will be the resurrection of the body of Christ then in revelation the resurrection of the just and unjust those judged by there works outside of the age of grace. I view it this way if someone wants to worship the adversary again what you sew is what you reap the end in eternity won't be good. This is my perspective, let God be true and the other guy the Father of lies.

    Thanks Brother Spencer. Paul lists the elements in 1 Corinthians 3:12. So no matter what is used, the gold, silver, and precious stones represent the work of God's Spirit. And the wood, hay, and stubble represent the work of man. He says no matter which of these elements you build on, every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed in fire;

This is not the fire of Hell. This will be a judgment called the Bema seat of Christ. It's not the White Throne Judgement, but every Christian will stand before the Bema seat of Christ. And it's going to be interesting because everyone's work is going to be tested in fire literally!

And the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. The word "try" is the word DOKIMADZO where you pass the metals through the fire and it burns off the dross. And so every man's work is going to be tested.

Paul says that there is no other foundation other than Christ. So everybody that has received Christ, you can't lay another foundation. You only have one. But what we need to watch for is what we build on that foundation.

I like to picture myself standing there at the pearly gates, and Peter's there of course. I always picture the golden arches like at McDonald's, but I'm sure that won't be there. But I get hooked up to this thing that pulls me through like a car wash pulls a car through the carwash, but instead of water, it is fire. And when I come out the other end, that's what I'm going to be throughout eternity.

Everything I did in my own human effort apart from the persuasion/faith of God's Spirit is going to burn. Everything that is of Christ will remain and I will receive my reward/s. So we have to be careful how we're building. What's not of Christ will burn, but we ourselves will be saved.

    God Bless!!!

Gigi The word tells me what my fight is and understanding of the old man nature the spirit lets me know always the correct action to take in my believing walk in Christ, I don't wake up with the mind set of a fight with the sin I gotta

focus on whats my next move God, I've learned when I sin thank God of course genuinely for forgiveness and move on absolutely no dwelling, learn from it yes but no dwelling.

In Gods eyes the word says we are saints which means separated one by the gospel I am no longer a sinner in a constant state the one I was born In I'm born again Gods Child

now I will commit sin or break fellowship but that does not make me a sinner. You can't be both. Now I'm sharing with you my heart and understanding and I'd rather believe this positive than walk around being fearful of making a mistake

which I know a lot of believers that constantly think there doing something wrong all the time. That condemnation is a trick of the devil. We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us and gave Himself for us. One other point if I feel unworthy how can I do or believe Hebrews 4:16. Let us come boldly to the throne of grace[we didn't earn it we just believe it] that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. None of us are good Enough to have what we have been given, its all grace. God Bless

Brother S Spencer, May I add three more scriptures to 1 Corinthians 3:14 -15 that helps clarify it.

Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was NOT FOUND WRITTEN in the book of life was cast into the lake of FIRE.

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall WORSHIP him, whose names ARE NOT WRITTEN in the book of the life of the Lamb slain from the foundations of the world.

1 Timothy 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the SAVIOUR OF ALL MEN (even the ones cast into the lake of fire), specially those ( the elect) that believe.

Cyrus First thing is that no one could be a christian before pentecost in the bible that's when the faith of Jesus Christ became available, they could believe God and walk in that believing faith but no one Had Christ in them being born again until pentecost. In Rome that's how bad the persecution Got and in our day and time in certain parts of the World its Intense. It it indeed Ephesians 6:12. Thank God we have the Hope of the Return to look forward to. There are great examples in the word of men believing God that's available to rise up to. Hebrews chapter 11 believers Hall of Fame.

We are the body of Christ but we are all at different levels of our believing walk, some big and some small only God knows. Do the best you can and God will do the Rest.

I really love them critters too!

A short while ago someone posted here something like, " Dogs are the closest things To Angels here on earth!"

Also, a dog may be the only thing that loves you more than it loves itself!

Hopefully, there is also a heaven for our pets somewhere.

    God Bless.

I feel pressured to get baptized in Jesus name which is fine because I love Jesus but I have already been baptized in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. I was reading the book of Matthew, and in chapter 28 verse 19 Jesus himself says that we are to be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. So who do we listen to Peter? Acts 2:38, or Jesus, Matthew 28:19?
