Dean The real question here sir is do you believe what you believe, the adversaries game is to get us to doubt, if you

confessed Romans 10: 9+10 with your mouth and believed what you confessed with your heart which is the seat of your

personal life and committed to doing your best to walk on Gods word trust me you weren't missed by God. It's not a head

trip and don't be a sign seeker, unbelievers look for that, show me a sign and I'll believe in God wrong. You Will Know

    because God doesn't miss.

There are times dean when I question what I'm being told and miss the blessing, example this morning went outside I live in florida in condo next to beach, I love taking pictures of wildlife. I was walking on the third floor and saw

8 herons standing side by side on the shore that's unique Father said take a picture now, instead I called my wife to come out and see this, she came out I went to first floor to get a closer shot they were gone. Between when I first saw them and second time was maybe 1.5 minutes. I missed it, I missed the blessing. Don't beat yourself pray for Fathers help in the name of Jesus Christ He Will. He's more willing to give then we are to receive.

Thank you all for your comments ! I am thankful that I located this. I have been told that I am a "people" person & usually get along with everybody. I have met along the way a lot of people ,& have been blessed with friends. I have had some serious bumps in my life's path . I have had to forgive others, God has helped, people who have betrayed the path of friendship. God has helped me see I have been blessed by all relationships . I always pray for those who are in my life . Fortunately , most of the people in my life I have been truly blessed to know. It is difficult to see people stumble in the path to the world but I can't go that way. I have been blessed with a Christian family & close friends ! "The only thing necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing ( Edmund Burke)". Pray for all.

Brother David, the ALTER FIRE is: The Fire of the Lord, the same fire that burned up Gideon's offering, the same fire in the bush before Moses, same fire that Elijah called down, same fire that destroyed Sodom, same fire you are baptised with, the same fire on the mountain when Moses received the commandments, same fire before the children of Israel in the wilderness, same fire in Malachi 3 that purifies us, same fire in 1 Corinthians 3:15 that saves us, same fire IN REVELATION.

Aaron's son were killed because they used strange fire (probably physical) instead of the FIRE OF THE LORD.

Yes, they carried the alter fire with them, it's WITHIN US today.

Hi Dean Hi I never questioned when I was born again because it literally felt like a cool calm peaceful breeze went through me and immediately I was thinking clearer it is a innermost gut level feeling literally heart felt. Since then there are times when my head and actions aren't where they need to be or my believing actions but I know without question I have Gods Spirit in me.

My first miracle happened not saying getting born again isn't a miracle when I worked in a prefab housing plant and 1700 lbs of wood fell on me.

The ambulance came and 2 hours later I woke up in a hospital bed with lacerations around my head and the

doctor told me I couldn't move, so closed my eyes prayed to the father in the name of Jesus Christ to be healed and felt

this nice warm feeling head to toe and I sat up on the bed and had to take a leak.

The doctor freaked and said I shouldn't be able to move what happened I told Him I was healed and he walked out.

They kept me overnight for observation and I left the next day. While I was in the hospital a coworker called the room and freaked when I answered the phone because he swore I had died. Dean I'm nobody special but if God can do that for me he will do and show you anything you need just believe. P.S. Expect Him to Work He Is Our Father! God Bless

Sometimes when we are in the middle of a storm, the best we can do is just hold on to Christ. He knows our sorrows and grieves with us through painful times.
  • GiGI - In Reply - 4 years ago
Concur, this is such an easy command of Christ and expected practice in the apostolic church times to obey. Perhaps many bristle at the thought of any sort of rite or formality in Christian practice. But I think it is perhaps a test of our love for Jesus when He said, "If you love me you will obey my commandments." The sharing of the Lord's Supper is a rite and formality, but also a command of Jesus. We should be happy to obey the Lord we love and profess.

I find an ancient map of Palestine on Google, and lay it next to my Bible so I can see descriptions of the Bible next to the map.

    It's tedious but very interesting!

I have to remind myself Israel is only 9+ miles wide.
  • Stones of Remembrance and Altars - In Reply on Leviticus 6 - 4 years ago
Wisdom's seven pillars in the Bible: according to scripture, are: fear of the Lord, instruction, knowledge, understanding, discretion, counsel, and reproof.

1 Samuel 7:7-12 depicts the Israelites under imminent attack from the Philistines. God leads them to victory, so Samuel erects a large stone and names it Ebenezer, meaning 'the stone of help'.

    Genesis 28-32+

The first Biblical reference to memorial stones comes in Genesis 28: 10-22, when Jacob set a pillar in Bethel to commemorate a powerful vision of God that he experienced while sleeping there. The experience was so striking that Jacob felt that it must be commemorated, so he erected the stone upon which he slept. [comment: Jacob built pillars all along his path. Stones of remembrance.]

    Altar Fires Leviticus 6

12 And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings.

13 The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.

    [priests oversaw the altar duties]

Comment: Pillars of stones were used to mark or commemorate something. For some of us it would be well to build a pillar of stones to remember that a major life event (like forgiveness to an individual) took place and the pile is testimony to that. For some of us, each stone is a person who wronged us, and we forgave them. Or, Maybe a fallen friend on a battlefield you want to remember forever.

No comments please. People remember others their own way. Veterans Day is set aside to remember fallen soldiers. I have a basket of rocks taken from each grave, of a soldier I honor. They are not forgotten.
  • Earl Bowman - In Reply on Psalms 144 - 4 years ago
Sunny, David penned the Psalms, but they were written by the Spirit Of the Lord (Christ).

2 Samuel 23:1 Now these be the last words of David .....

2 Samuel 23:2 The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, an his words were in my tongue.

Revelation 19:10 .....I (Christ) am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY.

It will change the whole way you view God's word when you understand the WORDS in Psalms is CHRIST speaking, not David.

The Lord (Father) is my (Christ) shepherd, I (Christ) shall not want, etc., etc.

Christ is a MAN and dependant in every WAY ON THE FATHER, as we are dependant every way on CHRIST.

Christ said I of my self I can DO NOTHING, the Father does all thing FOR (or through me).

Christ is THE BODY that HOLDS (is filled with the FULLNESS OF HIS FATHER).

We can of our selves DO NOTHING, Christ does all thing FOR (or through us).

We are the BODY that HOLDS (is filled with the FULLNESS OF CHRIST).

A body is just a vessel, that HOLDS: GOD.

Christ HOLDS the FATHER in the (his) Body, we Hold, CHRIST in our body, therefore we are ONE, the temple, were God and the Son dwell WITH US.

Ephesians 4:4 There is ONE body (MAN), and ONE Spirit (GOD).

Ephesians 4:6 One God and Father of ALL (the body(s), who is above ALL (the body(s), and through ALL (the body(S), and in you ALL (the body(s).

The Father can not be seen, so he made a body that HOLDS SPIRIT that can be seen.

Man HAS to be GIVEN this KNOWLEDGE, grace is a GIFT (given) of God.

  • Water Baptism - In Reply - 4 years ago
I read a story yesterday that people are flocking to be water baptized.

In the Book of Acts, because Israel and other places are desert, there was no water to be baptized in. I suppose a cup of water could've been used, but water was scarce. It might mean life or death. Baptism is the first act of obedience.

We need to remember that the thief on the Cross wasn't baptized. Yet Jesus told him that he would be with Jesus in Paradise that very day!

We have the Holy Spirit to help us with the New Birth. Ask Him.

    Dean,

Interesting question. I guess that the only person to evaluate a person's spiritual walk is really that person. But a trusted friend who is honest and mature can also help a person. Here are a few thoughts for self-evaluation.

    1. Is one "going trough the motions" i.e rote prayers, singing in worship services without thinking about what one is saying or to Whom you are directing your worship?

    2. Does one have a lack of interest in growing spiritually?

    3. Is one being involved strictly in "social" aspects of congregational life?

    4. Is one going trough most days without much thought about spiritual matters or especially, about God and His working in one's own life.

    5. Does one have a few very close Christian friends who are encouraging one to walk more closely with God.

I am sure that others can make even better suggestions, but, for me, I think most Christians go through times of intense spiritual growth and intimacy with the Lord and times of "just cruising along". Life's circumstances can get the better of us at times or for a season. But the Word says, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."

Asking the Holy Spirit to reveal complacency and insincere worship and attention to God and is ways always brings answers that sow us areas we need to submit to God or increase our commitment to develop disciplines that promote growth and fervor for God.

    1 Corinthians 12

2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus ACCURSED, and that no man can say that JESUS IS THE LORD, but by the Holy Ghost.

In John 3, Jesus tells we must be born again. When we receive Jesus as our Savior and Lord; Jesus gives to us The Holy Spirit. He's our Teacher. Through Bible study, He explains Jesus's life and, what He has done for us. Over time, it changes us.

If you wander off to sin a while, the Lord will come find you, and bring you back into relationship again. Be sensitive to his voice near your heart.

That's why the Prodigal Son story is so very precious to me, Luke 15.

The Father looking for His child to return home again. He has sons, and daughters as well.

Don't ever think you've sinned so much that you cannot return to Father God and the Lord Jesus.

Be restored to the Family of God.

I grew up in a strict Southern Baptist Church as a kid. In my early teens, I walked away from God. When I was newly Born Again, friends would laugh and say, "anyone as evil as you are cannot possibly be forgiven!!" Their judgment on me tore my soul to pieces.

Don't judge others. Help them to return Home to Father and the Lover of their soul.

Those who in mercy, restore those who've wandered off; will not be ashamed at the Bema Seat of Christ.

I say this with every ounce of love in my heart.

God is soooo Great, He is Greater than Great and Bigger than problem, situation or circumstance we can ever face or endure. He is God. God does not need our help to do anything but He does long for us to Love Him. Man... just sitting here thinking how Great His Love is for Us is deeper than any depth we can descend, higher than any heights we can climb and wider than the four corners of the earth. I would have NEVER known God to be a Deliverer, a Healer, a Miracle Worker, a Mind Regulator, a Heart Fixer, a Counselor, Council, a Friend or a Father, Protector, a Comedian, a Physician, a Advisor just to name a few if I had never experienced sickness, near death experiences, loneliness, brokenness, spiritual captivity, depression, oppression, failures, perversions, unforgiveness, bitterness, jealousy and whatever else I allowed myself to be ensnared by God abolished and made me free. Yes, I still have struggles but NEVERTHELESS God is still Faithful, always has been and you know what He has NEVER lost a battle! When people saw my faults and judged me, God consoled me, picked me up, brushed me off, placed my feet on a solid foundation, told me I am worthy, I am Loved and He has a both a purpose and a plan for my life. When I felt worthless, unusable and did not see my value, Jesus reminded me JUST HOW MUCH He loved millions like me and the Great Depths we descended to the lower parts of the earth to snatch back the keys from death, hell and the grave and gave all whom will believe on Him, POWER to overcome the devil in the evil day. Lord knows I have had many evil days but now I have help. I have The Hope of Glory, The King, a Great King fighting and making Intercession for me. I am not without Hope nor am I without help. I have JESUS, the man who died for me and got up with ALL Power in his hands and He gave me that Power to become more than a overcomer, mighty in God to pulling down of strongholds, from generational curses to unholy thoughts all rendered Powerless!

Bro Dan , I think we may have to admit defeat on this one . If God and His Holy Spirit , or Christ and his apostles cannot convince people , then I doubt if you or I will be able to prick any ones conscience . I do worry a bit about the unbaptised who profess to be Christians , however I worry more for any one who teaches others that water baptism isn't necessary , any of us are free to obey or disobey ,but to encourage others in a wrong path is a dangerous thing I think . I'm sorry if I sound harsh , I cannot go against my own conscience in this matter . Acts Ch 8 , pleeeeease read it very carefully . Much love in Christ .

I am would like to comment on your statement you can loose your salvation when you fall from grace.

Very well stated. This is the same point I was trying to make not too long ago, but I like the way you put it. The Lord knows His sheep. He knows all those who presently belong to Him. (This I will agree with its the next part i disagree with)

It would not make sense at all for one of His sheep to stand before Him one day and hear the words "Depart from me, I never knew you." If He knows me now, how could He say that He never knew me later?

Jesus said ( John 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand). But you yourself can take yourself out of the Fathers hand. By Grace we are saved, or have salvation. We can loose our salvation by sinning and when you sin Grace is no longer with you so God does not know who you are. It is through Grace that the Father and the son Jesus knows who you are. With out Grace all would be lost and headed for a devils hell. That is the reason we should repent daily for our sins because you don't really know if you committed any sins that day unless the Holy Ghost quickens for spirit at the time you sinned. If so than it is your responsibility to repent then.

    God be Blessed

stay prayed up and ready to go up

    cowboy

    salvation

preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin, or loss.

a source or means of being saved from harm, ruin, or loss.

deliverance from sin and its consequences, believed by Christians to be brought about by faith in Christ.

If "dividing the word" means ignoring scripture like this, then count me out!

    Jesus states the following scripture:

    John 3:5

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

Please take note: Jesus doesn't say you just need to be "baptized in the Spirit", HE says " Except a man be born of Water and of the Spirit"

Jesus submitted to water baptism, showing us that even HE humbled himself in undergoing this action. As Christ Followers who are we to balk at water baptism? In my opinion, to do so, is to ignore Jesus, and even worse, by not accepting water baptism, you may actually be putting yourself above Jesus. Jesus not only told us what is expected of us, he also showed us what is expected!

Baptism by water is so easy to do, this should be a no brainer!

    God Bless.

    Hi there,

Thanks for that info, it is helpful, and I appreciate the prayers. I will say this, you can't rely on emotions, or go looking for a sign that God is there. I am very thankful for the Holy Spirit, and faith to know that he is always here, regardless of how things look or feel. I guess it tells me a lot about my faith and relationship with him when I doubt or think its an impossible situation. Bless your Mom! I know she endured a lot. Thanks for taking the time to help!

Hi Cynthia God Bless Having a little understanding of your situation, I had a step son that in teenage years got into dope which enhances the mind set of rebellion, and it always starts small. One day my wife and I set certain rules down

and told him if he ever did ABorC he's moving with His father. The day came he was 18 assaulted the principle of the school in the mouth and was almost caught with pot in His locker, that day we packed His belongings and to his father which it turned out for a brief period of time to be good. Then on occasion we would hear from him and always ask could we send him money, when ask why no reply. For Him it took hitting rock bottom details not worth it he was put in a forced situation but today he's sober as a judge and doing O.K.. When we talk he apologizes for the way he was, I told him don't relive what you can't change, take care of what God gave you now. My wife and I are thankful he's currently not the person he was. As was stated before your house your rules Gods Grace, pray that God Opens His Eyes and cclears His Mind.

Absolute Grace and believing and Patience In the gospel of John 5 1-15 is a remarkable record of a man being healed by Jesus Christ. The pool of Bethesda was in a publically known place. As the record states people believed that

an angel came down once a year touched the water first one in healed. Imagine walking up to this scene of a bunch of people with a bunch of physical problems just anticipating the right time.

This certain man no name ever mentioned who had an infirmity [38 YEARS] wrap your head around that most complain when things don't go right after a certain time and quit believing, then the patience don't know what it took to get him there but 38 YEARS he was faithful. Jesus Christ shows up father shows him who to go to and say to the man Wilt thou be made whole, he never says yes but tells him why it can't happen but he absolutely believed he could be made whole if someone would put in the pool.

Then the grace because this man had no idea who Jesus Christ was but the son of God knew his believing and will then says Rise take up thy bed and walk and immediately made whole got up and walked. You read constantly in the gospel and places in acts when healing took place immediately comes up its instant God doesn't mess around.

Then of course the religious leaders flipped because it was the sabbath, best part is how did this happen and the man tells them I DON"T KNOW then Jesus finds him later the man knows him and complete's the process saying you have been made whole go and sin no more. We too have been made whole.
