Mark When we look at the world we become miserable, when we look at others we can become distraught, when we look into a mirror we see all our faults. When Go to Gods Word with focus commitment drive and determination we read all the things God has done for us and in us that we could not do for ourselves, then turn our eyes upon Jesus look full in His wonderful Face and the Things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His Glory and Grace. Rise up to the level to the mountain top of Spiritual Believing.

Hi David, I get what you are trying to say. Thanks for sharing. I think that God has revealed in Scripture what is necessary for mankind in all avenues of mankind's history and any man's day to day life. However, there is an infinite amount of knowledge and revelation God could bestow on if he willed to do so. He is much beyond Scripture. That is why we have events such as your friend with the gun (Praise to God) and other events that can only be explained by God intervening in these times after the Scriptures were completed. I myself have been used by the laying on of hands and speaking forth what the Spirit prompted me to say to bring about a miracle healing of my son at 5 days old. I found out after tests came in that he had newborn sepsis, which is often fatal for newly born ones, because their bodies cannot fight infection due to not being able to make white blood cells yet, and so, when the white blood cells they received from their mother's blood is depleted, they can may die. I will never forget that moment and also the words of the neonatal doc, who after we left the room, said to me, When I first saw your son, I was really concerned. I don't know what just happened in their, but I think your son will be o.k."

So, God intervenes in big and small ways throughout history to accomplish His will to save and help people. These occurrences happen outside the revelation of Scripture, but when a "God thing" happens, you really know it. It is readily and easily recognized by believers and often times by unbelievers, too.

David The biggest problem with this country is self worship, people say in God we trust don't tell me show me. The citizens of this country believe because were Americans we're entitled to have our freedom our way. This country is one of the greatest examples of corrupt religious thought on display. Many say but don't do, churches have become political, famous so called christian personalities will show up and say vote for so and so and collect money for them to be elected, show me where that's scriptural. The leaders have bowed down to dope and greed and politics and LBQTZXY and whatever movement. Mark my words no other country will take us over the enemy is doing the same that he has always done in societies and in the church divide and take over. I've made up my mind I'll stand on my freedom in Christ Jesus.

I continue to pray for the nation which is not only contradicting constitutional law but also abusing. Remember biblically the love of money is the root of all evil, nothing has changed, in this country as long as I got mine I don't care.

The reason I know this is because too many other people have said those exact words to me. The other statement I get I have God my way good luck with that.

    Mishael,

Had to "Holy chuckle" a bit at your reference to the Prodigal Son. When my sons turned against their Christian upbringing and their early belief in Jesus, it was so grievous to me. I really learned how to mourn in those first few years as one by one, my dear sons went the way of the Prodigal. But I learned how to pray earnestly for my children and continue to do so. The chuckle comes in when I recall the story of the prodigal son, I think, "I wonder what it was like for the prodigal's mother during this time?" The Word does not say, but I guess those of us who have or are walking in her shoes are examples of what she may have felt and done during those years.

Bless you. I am encouraged by those who can tell of God's answers to prayer for the return of our wayward children. I am looking forward to the party!

Hello all . Don't know if you are aware but there has been a climate conference in the city of Glasgow in Scotland very recently . I don't know if human activity is responsible for the rise in the earths temperature or not , but I know that God knew all about this from the begining ,2nd Peter Ch 3 , V 10-12 and especially Rev Ch 16 , V 9 : And men were scorched with great heat , and blasphemed the name of God , which hath power over these plagues : and they repented not to give Him the glory . I take this to mean that : men blasphemed God by denying that He has the power over all of His creation , to cause or stop this heat , and they (we) don't repent of their sinfullness and acknowledge Him and His power over all of His creation . Men refuse to acknowledge the power of God and instead go to Glasgow and make a great show of deciding how they are going to sort it out themselves . My Grandma had a saying : what makes God laugh ? When we tell Him our plans .

You know, when I grew up, there was more affirmation of what would be termed sound doctrine and it was explicitly taught to the members of churches. I do not know how much of this happens in churches today nor do I know the the level of doctrinal knowledge among the generations younger than me. So, for me, part of my purpose for being on this site is to speak to what I know and have learned over the years as the Spirit leads me, in the hopes that some may gain better understanding of God's Truth. Trials, challenges, and difficulties either bring out the sheep in us or the wolf.

    Bless you.

    Good morning, Alex

Perhaps Chris and I sound so similar is that we both have similar skills in conveying our ideas in writing and have similar levels of "education" (in that, when we were taught writing skills, it resonated with both of us). When I was young I would read the dictionary and encyclopedia for pleasure reading, weird, huh? (Well, it happens that my husband did the same thing when he was young!) But I was intrigued by words and different ways to say a thought as well as finding out about our world in the encyclopedia, whether it be history, geography, science, etc. I have a curious mind. When I was 9 I began reading the Bible for myself, since I had the reading capacity to do so and understand it. I had it in my heart to desire to only know what is true so I prayed for God to show me Truth in His Word so I could examine what I was being taught in my church. How many 9 year olds do that! I even stopped reading fiction about that time, because I only wanted to read factual materials. I have continued to pray for God to teach me what is true over the years. He is faithful and He has blessed my with a good measure of discernment. I don't know Chris' background, but I am sure we will find many similarities, but also a number of difference. God knew we would all meet on this site at this time. So, I calk it up to God's Providence.

    WHO Is SATAN

Genesis 3:1 Now the SERPENT (Satan) was more subtil than any BEAST of the Field which the Lord God Had made...

God made ALL THE BEAST of the field out of DUST, The BEAST are all made FLESH.

1 Corinthians 15:39 Not all flesh is the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of man, another of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

Which of these creations of FLESH is the MOST SUBTIL, Of course it's MAN.

Job 26:13 By his Spirit he hath garnished the heavens; His (Spirits) hand hath formed he crooked (liar and murderer, from the beginning) serpent (subtil beast).

1 John 2:16 ..The lust of the FLESH, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life..

Which of these creations of FLESH have the capabilities to have the pride of life, lust of the FLESH, and the lust of the eyes, of course it's MAN.

James 2:19 thou (terrestrial FLESH) believest there is one one God, thou doest well, the devils (Satan, terrestrial FLESH) also BELIEVE, and tremble.

Revelation 13 :8 Here is wisdom let him that hath UNDERSTANDING count the number of the BEAST (FLESH): for his number is the number of a MAN..

Who is the ONLY beast of the field that is subtil, can lust, can BELIEVE and can buy and sell. Why of course, it's MAN, THE PRINCE(S) OF THIS WORLD.

You BELIEVE, long before you are BORN AGAIN. Terrestrial FLESH, the carnal mind, has to BE DESTROYED (it's the process of light replacing darkness).

1 Corinthians 5:5 To deliver such a one (terrestrial flesh) to Satan (terrestrial flesh) for the DESTRUCTION of the Flesh, that the Spirit might be SAVED in the day of the Lord.

Isaiah 9:20 ..they shall every man EAT THE FLESH OF HIS OWN RIGHT ARM.

Zechariah 14:12 ..their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet..

Revelation 19:18 That you may eat the flesh of kings, and he flesh of captains, and the flesh of might men..

Romans 13:11 ..now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

    WORK OUT YOU OWN SALVATION

Thank you, Grace. We are in this together and our children need us to pray for them since they are turned away from the face of God for this time. When I pray for my sons, I will endeavor to name your children in my prayers as well. God knows each child's needs exactly, so the Spirit will intercede with us as we lay out our deep concerns before Him in faith that He is able and willing to answer these prayers since they are in His will.

God bless you, Grace, today and every day. May we both soon have the joy of our children returning to Jesus and full fellowship with us as the wall between us and them will be broken down, as it is between them and the Lord/

Hi Earl . With regard to us having freedom of choice . I'm not always good at explaining things so I hope you will get my drift about this . I think some people take you too literally , for example , tomorrow I'm doing some medical trials and I will receive a ten pound shopping voucher for taking part . I would love to spend that ten pounds on myself . I'm not poor but I'm not any ones idea of rich either , I would really like to buy myself a nice bottle of wine . That's my desire , to serve myself , and I'm free to do that . However , I think that God and Jesus expect a bit better behaviour from me so I won't spend it on myself . I will buy ten pounds worth of groceries and give them to my local food bank . I do have the choice though . However I do agree with you because , knowing the Truth has changed me and there are lots of things that I used to do that I would never do now because I know that it wouldn't be right . It's that heart of flesh , that Day Star , Christ in me as you would say . There are many instances in my life where I do feel as if I don't have any choice because of my conscience towards God , I know the difference between serving my own flesh and serving God now , so although strictly speaking I do still have a choice ,God has got me in a grip of love and He knows that I know the difference between serving myself and serving Him and He knows that I know what He expects from me . His purpose will always be fulfilled and He already knows everything that any and all of us will ever choose . I wish I could say that I always do that which is acceptable in His sight .

    Excellent, Mishael!

This spirit of heaviness is not just a mental illness: depression, it has a spiritual element that is often overlooked.

Mark, I encourage you to heed Mishael's suggestions in her post. As a believer, you have the Lord God on your side, unlike those outside of Christ who suffer from a depressing time of isolation and stress (as your studies seem to be).

Get out and about as much as you can. Fresh air will do you good. Have simple conversations with anyone who is willing to engage with you when you go out, As Rick suggested. I pray that God will bring someone to you who is a Christian brother to help you through this in person. We were made for fellowship with one another, and so any prolonged isolation will cause some sort of problem. Do whatever you can to break up the isolation. I know that it is very hard to do this when one is feeling depressed. The tendency is to further withdrawal, but that is the way of the enemy. Put forth a concerted effort to fight back by making yourself get out of the house and be around others, even passively, before you then begin to speak to others in causal conversation. You never know who will be the one God has called to walk beside you through this time.

Amen, Grace. I partner with you in this prayer of healing and deliverance from covid for Keith's fiance, Kendra.

Lord, quickly answer our prayers for Kendra, that all involved in her situation may know that you are a Mighty God, One who answers fervent prayers of faithful children of god. And bring your peace into this hospital room. Cause an immediate change in Kendra's lungs and airways so that the ventilator will not be needed. Allow the medications administered to her along with the oxygen to be effective with immediate results. Thank You, Lord God who Heals.

So sorry about your daughter. Such a huge loss, especially with the way she died. This is hard to go through. My prayers are with you. As believers, we just don't think about these things happening to our kids as they grow through childhood since they are being raised in a Christian home. It is confusing, because we do not know why God allowed this to happen when we have tried our best to bring them up God's way and provide a loving faith filled environment for our children.

When awful things happened to my sons when they hit the teen years, I was blindsided, having thought that God would keep them due to the way we believed. I learned to pray every day for them since then. You are blessed to have two younger children, but surely you miss your daughter every day and grieve for her. Commit yourself to pray to God help. Grieve before Him. He will comfort you day by day. Pray for your other children more diligently than ever before.

Lean on friends and accept help. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. I really don't think we can ever draw as near to Him as is possible. e will be your strength through this time. He is the Mighty One. God's blessings on you and your family.

    Amen, David.

The direction of our nation and our culture, in general, is concerning. We, as a nation, have strayed so far from God and His truth. Christians have compromised trying to fit in with the culture and follow God at the same time. this really does not work out well. Our witness is diminished because the world sees our hypocrisy, as they hold Christians to a higher standard than themselves, the unbelieving, (this shows that they know what is right and refuse to do it.) It damages our character, giving a place for the work of the evil one. We fall into temptation more easily due to this compromise. Shedding the ways of the world is difficult ,perhaps more so in this generation. I for one,, have been working on this all of my . It is easier to do at my age (65) because I am no longer trying to impress others or be "relevant" to others by participating in worldly activities. I still want to "be all things to all people" as Paul endeavored to do, but this does not mean compromising godliness.

I pray for a revival in our nation, where the Christian citizenry will wake up and smell the roses to see how dire our nation's spiritual situation is; and I pray that many unbelievers will be stirred to seek the Lord. The church needs to be ready to receive these people lovingly and readily incorporating them into a body of believers that takes godly living

seriously. Our day to day living is a large part of our witness of being changed as a result of turning to Jesus. We should not resist the Holy Spirit in this.

I pray for our nation's leaders, that they will be humbled by God, that God would search them and show them any wicked way in them. I pray that many leaders will turn away from corrupt ways that hinder their calling to serve the citizens. We, as believers, should be asking God to also search us to show us our sin, so we will confess our sins and accept forgiveness, empower us to turn away from known sin, and be renewed continually by God's Holy Spirit in us.

Psalm 1 begins with this phrase: "Blessed is is the man..." "Man" is the Hebrew word ish, which normally means a man as a male distinct from a woman. Some modern translations appeal to "context" to claim that in Psalm 1:1 means a person, or anyone, or some such generic term. But aren't there are Hebrew words which would convey that more general meaning? The Holy Spirit inspired a singular, gender-specific word here, and I honestly don't understand how any human being can dare to amend or correct what God says. Similarly, in Psalm 1:1 some Bible versions make ish into a gender neutral plural word, even though -as Adam Clarke's commentary states- the Hebrew is emphatic that the sense here is "THAT man", that individual who does not follow the ungodly multitude. How can anyone obscure or deny this God-inspired emphasis and not tremble? Thank youfor considering my thoughts.

Dan Look scripturally we were given spiritually life by Grace which is divine unmerited favor we didn't work for it. I'm not calling it eternal security, that's not written, in the old testament David the King committed adultery, and murder , and after that God said he was still a man after his own Heart.

That's the key did He still believe in His heart absolutely, but because of pride being king he thought he could have any woman in the kingdom, but God said no dice.

That's why he said in psalms take not thy Holy Spirit from me because back in the old testament it was upon men or women not I repeat not in them. You could lose it by disobeying, King Saul lost it when He when he didn't do what Samuel the man of God told Him and then Lied, his heart was not right.

We now have spirit by free gift in us we are sons and daughters spiritual by rebirth not upon but in, in Gods eyes spiritually we are perfect, not in the flesh in the spirit.

Now the war or the choice renew the mind because when we are born again we don't immediately think Godly thoughts or walk 24/7 on the word in fact we who are born again will never walk 24/7 perfectly spiritually until the return because corruption our bodies our minds included by believing and discipline to doing the word we'll get better and better but we will not be totally perfect until resurrected

Jesus Christ Himself said some will reap 30, 60 ,100 fold thats the individuals ability to change and walk which is our work. As far as Gods Job we are complete in Him. Something else understanding God and sin don't mix and yet Adam and Eve both Sinned but who did God blame for the cause of the sin, the adversary but they had to pay and so do we in our flesh. Hence what you sew is what you reap I will discuss scripture never with foot down whats the profit.

    Dear God,

I ask You right now to step into the hospital room where Kendra is fighting for her life and REBUKE this Covid from her body.

Lord I rebuke COVID 19 and any variation or form of it and any devastation it has left or is trying to leave in its path-in Your name!

It is powerless in Your presence. Please heal her.

I ask that You set Angels around her to minister to her.

And I ask You Lord to strengthen Keith and help his faith to stay strong and please help him Lord to rest in You, knowing that You alone are able.

Please strengthen and quicken all those who are caring for Kendra in the hospital. Each and every one that walks into her room. That they would feel Your presence and the ministering Angels.

I pray this in Jesus name and I thank You Lord. Amen

    Brother David,

We are in agreement with the promise of the gift/favor that God gave us, it is "THE WAY" for us to have salvation. I believe based on the scripture that if we except the gift/favor, our current worldly life should die, and we will live a "New Life" as a Christ follower. Following Christ we will become obedient, and in doing so follow God's Commandments, and produce good fruits and good works.

If we just say "we believe", and then continue to live our current worldly sinful lives, we will not receive salvation, this based entirely on my reading/understanding of the bible scripture.

Jesus Christ/God is consistent throughout the bible that we must become obedient. He is consistent in the OT, NT, and even after he died on the cross he is consistent with instructing us to be obedient if we want our salvation. Here is Jesus (40-50 years after his death) revealing to apostle John in Revelation, what he will expect from each of us if we hope to enter into the city/heaven.

    Revelation 22:12-14

12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

In summary, Jesus is telling us that we will be rewarded for our works, and if we want to enter into salvation we will do his commandments. So, Jesus is the Judge, telling us what he will want from us to enter Salvation! He is not saying "all we have to do is believe". Jesus is always consistent, and we must be obedient - according to Jesus.

    Jesus words last forever:

    Matthew 24:35

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."

As Christians, if we are sincere about achieving salvation - are we to just disregard all of this scripture spoken by Jesus?

    God Bless.
