Thank you Alex & you are forgiven. No, I can categorically & truthfully state that GiGi & I are NOT the same people. Yes, we do have, as you say, similar vocabularies & supposed agendas. With 'vocabularies' & English expressions, that may be because of a certain type of education, work background, use of a dictionary/thesaurus when needed, etc. With 'agendas', maybe our Bible studies, Church Fellowship types, & rules we use to apply biblical hermeneutics are similar. So all this makes it seem that we are the one & the same. That is why I only use my name & not multiple names or no names - that way it remains 'clear' who is writing. And you will find that other people on here who have a similar understanding of the doctrines & biblical content, whereas others are vastly different. And with this variety of views, we can learn what other believers read & understand & then we can give their narratives due consideration; maybe to accept, reject, or put into the 'come back to it' tray. Maybe if GiGi reads this thread, she can confirm it as well. GBU.

    Brother David,

All three (3) books were written/directed at the newly established Christian Churches.

James wrote his book to Jewish believers to help encourage them to endure and live bold Christian lives, and is a book about practical Christian living that reflects a genuine faith that can transform their lives.

The book of Philippians, was written by Paul to the city of Philippi in eastern Macedonia which is now part of modern-day Greece.

The book of Galatians, written by Paul, and it is believed that the Apostle Paul coined the term Galatia to denote an expansive Roman province, referring to the general composition of churches he had established across the southern part of the Roman province of Galatia.

    God Bless.

    Hi Sister GiGi.

    Thanks for the reply.

You are absolutely right, Revelation Ch 2 and 3, is a great study for the Church, and it instructs us in the right direction and shows us what's lacking. I can see some truth in what Matt is saying, Today some seem to want to sit around and talk over scripture in a round table setting with no virtue from the discussion. There seems to be a push to excuse or accept anything as long as one "says" he or she loves Jesus. A true believer shouldn't be totally lacking in fruit barren. When we feed on the "sincere" word whether by reading or one's teaching and we seek truth there should be spiritual growth at some point. We often quote and misuse 1 John 2:27. here I think John is talking about the Spirit giving revelation. Because the Lord gifted the Church with teachers and if their message is true there is a spiritual growth goes on that we have no control of, it's a leading out to green pasture. If the message is false we flee! That's revealed by the Spirit as well.

Luke 17:20-21. I hold the view that the Lord is saying in their midst. The kingdom of God is not coming the way the Pharisees expected. it want be with observation where he would come and usher out the Romans. God was ruling in the hearts of some people and the king was standing in front of them. John the baptist said in Matthew 3:1-2. In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. and also Jesus Matthew 4:17. From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. However they rejected their king, "He will return". Matthew 23:39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. we do know they seen him again, What this means is behold him as a nation. And that will be done in the Millennium when he sits on David's throne.

    God bless you.

Bro Dan Your second statement is absolutely non biblical and unscriptural, Gods Gift is given by confessing Romans 10:9+10 and grace free gift by believing its not let me give them something and see what they do. That is taking scripture and saying this is what I think God was thinking or doing. Gods motivation was pure love not a game to see what they would do, they being us were lost. Salvation is not based on works of the flesh, hence Gift. Believe what you please I'll stick with Ir Is Written! Let God be True In All His Works And Ways.

There is no big mystery of God, the big mystery is why there are some on this site that try hard to confuse, mystify, mislead, and complicate the bible scriptures. God speaks plainly, so "plain people" can understand.

    John 14:15

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Do you love Jesus? Yes or No?

    It's very simple!

Amen Brother Rick, They are know by THEIR FRUIT.

One of the fruits of the Spirit is mans lips.

Is his lips speaking the words of God or the Doctrines of Man.

Isaiah 57:19 I create the fruit of the lips ......

Bro Dan Who are James Philippians and Galatians written to.
  • David - In Reply - 4 years ago
Hi Dean Keeping this simple no God does not control us that being said when we are born again we receive his Gift Holy Spirit by His giving and our believing to be delivered from sin and receive, now from that moment on we have a choice as always to change according to Gods word and do it or as paul says or the wages of sin eventually is death. Simply what you sew is what you reap. You cannot serve God and mammon the world, that doesn't mean we won't sin, BUT THAT IS NOT LICENSE TO WILLFULLY DISOBEY GOD if you sin you ask forgiveness as it says in 1 John 1:8-10.

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine:

In sunday school a 7 year old boy was listening to the teacher about when lot and his wife and daughters were fleeing from sodom and gomorrah and wifes lot turned to salt, the child raised his hand and ask the teacher what happened to the flea.

One sunday during the main church service the pastor was long winded in his teaching a child who was impatient ask his mother if we put more money in the collection plate can we leave.

A pastor told his sunday school class that next week he was going to do a teaching on the effects of being a liar and he ask the congregation to all read Gospel of Mark chapter 17, before he started his teaching ne ask how many people read it, they all raised there hands.

Earl Love ya but your combined statements and scripture make no sense in the context of whats being spoken of biblically and how God set up life to function according to his word in this world and that which is coming. That being stated its your privilege and also responsibility to prove all things and hold fast to that which is true. Truth is what Gods word says in the context and order he set up. I'm thankful that the master jesus Christ spoke at the right time in the right way with the right words to the right people so that his father could say this is my beloved son hear ye him. Also when he taught Luke 4:32-36 when he taught they were astonished because His word had exousia exercised power displayed. Same word we have when correctly spoken Jesus Christ the same yesterday today and forever.

Hi Gigi , thanks for your reply to me . No , honestly I have never had any problems with any Church authorities , it is my honest belief that any one who really wants to ,can understand the Bible . I believe totally that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him . He wants us to understand it and will help any and all of us who put in a bit of work . In my congregation no one gets any wages and all brothers are voted into their positions by all members voting once a year . No one gets paid for any thing . When money gets tied up in religion I'm out the door very quickly . All any of us need to draw closer to our Heavenly Father is a Bible and an open heart and mind and a bit of patience .

Interesting question, some would call him a leader because of his role in the Church, because of his writings. Yet most of all he was a follower of JESUS, that made him such a powerful, dynamic leader. Phillipians 3:1-17,

    Hopefully that answers your question.

Please give insight on the "talents" given and multiplied in Matthew 25:15-30. This is clearly not about silver or gold which will perish. But is of spiritual nature. Sharing the gospel to win souls?
  • Bro dan - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Brother Adam,

I agree. The gift that is so freely talked about by those who want to "keep their lives" and still recieve salvation are plainly missguided. You simply can't keep your life, and recieve salvation. It is one or the other!

The gift is really a "favor from God" with the hope that the reciever will accept it - and walk with Christ. If the reciever does not walk with Christ - they do not recieve the gift of salvation.

If we are truly - Born Again - there will be a change in us, and we will want to try to live a Christ like life!

Paul states the following which is very clear:

    Hebrews 10:26

"For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,"

    Galatians 6:7

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."

A Christ like person will strive to be sin free, and will produce good fruit/works.

    James 2:22

"Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?"

So many christians todaybelieve wrongly they are going to heaven no matter what. This is wrong! Here is Paul himself instructing us how to achieve our own salvation:

    Philippians 2:12

"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."

Why would Paul instruct us in the above verse, if all believer's are going to heaven anyway?

There are "no free tickets". People need to read the bible and believe what it says.

    God Bless

    Hi Dean,

God loved us enough to give us freewill- this is the ability to make choices big and small. We are not puppets. Here's a bunch of verses about it:

    Link

Some will use their freewill to tell others that they don't have freewill, which is ironic. God is in control of whatever he wants to control. Us having freewill doesn't mean God is somehow not in control. I would challenge anyone who doubts God by asking do you not believe God is all powerful enough or loving enough to allow you to make your own choices?

Those thinking it's a one or the other scenario are making a false assumption. It's like a parent asking her child to clean his room. The child has a choice to do it or not. If he disobeys he faces a consequence. But maybe he cleans his room and then begrudgingly says 'I had no choice, mom made me do it.' Or maybe the child doesn't clean his room, and knows he did wrong, but claims that if God wanted him to do it, it would have happened. Therefore, it must have been "God's will" for him not to.

The child might learn to blame others and not take responsibility. This is a current popular false belief in our society among those who have so much compassion on evildoers that they claim it's not their fault, they were born to do this or that, or that another person or institution is to blame. Even victims may be blamed.

Some adults use this as an excuse to commit sin, because it "wasn't them who" chose to sin, but "God made them do it." So, they then blame God on everything they feel inconvenienced by. Very creative, but everyone knows whose really behind these distortions and it's not God. I believe this could become blasphemy of the holy spirit to make false claims against God. When Jesus was doing his ministry Pharisees tried to claim that Jesus was evil. Matthew 12:22-32

Watch out for false teachings. The way to know is to just read the Bible and pray for wisdom.

    God bless...

So many comments on the website about false apostles and prophets but how is that possible when some believe the only ministries in the church left are evangelists pastors and teachers, when the word says in ephesians 4:10-16 that all apostles prophets evangelists pastors and teachers notice 5 which biblically stands for grace have been given to the church in the age of grace which has not ended to build up the body of christ which is still being built. Thats an example of picking what we choose to believe instead of letting God speak for Himself.

The disagreement will be that's what makes them false because they should not exist, but that doesn't dictate that there are not in operation correctly just because there are false ones that statement I can make concerning all 5 ministries in the church. Again they are known by their fruits.

Precious friend "eating heavy," thanks for your Valuable Input: "If we're not quoting Scripture like The Son of God, what are we learning?" My question is, Is that enough for 'learning', just to "quote Them"? ie

There are three classes of 'quoters'... 1 UNbelievers who ...'think'... they are believers ... ...2 believers who quote Them "out of context"... 3 believers who qoute Them "IN God's 'Context'" ie

Example, one Precious friend gave us this

"The deal is, Jesus is the Son of God AND THE SON OF MAN. Human. He gave us his Authority to cast out demons, heal the sick, raise the dead. I haven't raised anyone deceased." (Precious Mishael)

Would not this 'Confuse' the babes In CHRIST, who are "studying" Scripture to 'learn'? Should they 'legitimately' be concerned about "His authority that 'cannot' be practiced" Today?

Is not the answer to this Confusion, obeying God's Command in 2 Timothy 2:15, keeping Scriptures we 'quote' IN "God's PROPER 'Context'" and, Rightly Dividing Them for understanding?:

    Part 1

Prophecy/Law = "authority to raise the dead"

Rightly Divided 2 Timothy 2:15 From "Things That DIFFER!"

MYSTERY/Grace "Several 'learning' Scriptures (for 'power' Today!) quoted here

    God's GRACE in infirmities: Link

    to be continued...
  • GRACE_ambassador {ChrisE} - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Power Today

    Part 2

Precious friend, for Further Consideration of "studying" According To God's Command in 2 Timothy 2:15

    Prophecy vs MYSTERY: Link

Precious friend, Please have your 'spiritual' appetite satisfied "With Heavy Bible studying," having a "FULL (stomach) ASSURANCE of understanding" according To God's Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided!

"That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto All Riches of The Full Assurance of understanding, to the Acknowledgement of The MYSTERY of God, and of the Father, and of Christ" Colossians 2:2

    Conclusion

God's 'Context' for today = Prophecy/Law OR: Revelation Of The MYSTERY/GRACE?

Sister Amelia, Christ was constantly placing himself among the unbelievers. The Pharisees were constantly upbraiding Christ for this. So you are actually following Christ example. How else can you be a witness to unbelievers without being among them.

I have put you in this world but you are not of this world.

It was tragic & horrible like at the time Moses was born. Exodus 1:1-22, Matthew 2:2,3, Matthew 2:16, fear, insult, hatred, motivated them perhaps the most.
