Sister GiGi, I was saying the parable is not literal but has a hidden meaning.
  • Kevin - In Reply - 4 years ago
Thank you sister GiGi! I think that's why Paul says to comfort one another with these words from Thessalonians. Or as Jesus says of our Heavenly Father - I am not the God of dead but the God of the living in Mark 12:27 !

For we shall not taste death or even see death! John 8:51 !

Praise Jesus for His Death, His Burial, and His Resurrection - and thank you again GiGi for your love!

My wife and I are on the verge of losing everything (like so many others in this country). I ask that you pray for the Lord to intervene in this madness; to give us the strength and wisdom to overcome the evil that has run rampant in the world. Help us remain faithful and true to the one law that matters: Gods Law! Return kindness, love and clarity to our everyday lives. Pray that the Holy Spirit touches the hearts of our children, that they may break away from the un-Godly teachings of the world, and accept God's plan for them with the joy that is His promise.

Pray, for our country, that we may obtain the righteous leadership here on earth that He intended, and dispel of the evil, mindlessness that has been installed in our government.

Lastly; Help me pray for the wisdom and strength, within myself, to build on my faith and follow His path which was laid out before us by the Lord Jesus. Help me to understand and implement His will in this stage of my life.

May the Lord bless us all according to His Will, Amen.

Adam That can be said of anyone on any subject matter in Gods word. These are points all may be challenged in not doing whether purposely or not. 2 Peter 1:20 comes to mind the word there for private is idios meaning ones own. That scripture in context speaks for itself as does all Gods Word.
  • Rick - In Reply - 4 years ago
Hi Unknown Just an input Gods Word is truth we are going to defend God? We speak the truth in love I do't try to prove God or His Word I share and teach and endeavor to display his love then people make up there minds. Jesus Christ never defended His Father His works and speech spoke for themselves.

Hi Gigi One of the many challenges to me when understanding scripture it is God communicating how he works and how he wants to work for and in us via His Spirit. We live in pardon my unique analogy a five senses matrix that works against our spiritual man. To just say I'm not going to walk by the senses to me doesn't fit, it is a lifetime of determined focused change of thought into action, walking by faith not by sight. In the old testament when the prophet Samuel went to Jesse 1 Samuel 16 God even had to tell his man verse 7 I don't see things the way you do and he isn't the one then when he showed him seven sons Samuel ask the question is this it then Jesse sort of like well there is one more but he's sort of the runt, sends for the boy verse 7 this is he anoint him. Fantastic example, even the prophets who were human just like us fought the five senses. So we do our best and let God do the rest.

Hi Faustino. Jotham is the youngest son of Gideon ( Judges 9:5). But you need to know, as you read this account, that Gideon, who was the son of Joash, was also called Jerubbaal ( Judges 8:35). So, Jerubbaal & Gideon are the same person. He was called Jerubbaal, meaning, 'let Baal contend with him', because he obeyed God in going out & tearing down Baal's altar & cutting down the Asherah pole ( Judges 6:25-32). As you read the account of how Jotham escaped being murdered, you will see the warning parable he preached to Abimelech (who was his brother & murderer of the other brothers) & to the men of Shechem.

Putting your opportunity for salvation into the hands of another human and saying to them : here , you sort this out for me ' ,is a big mistake as far as I'm concerned . The printing press was given to us for a reason , the best reason . God does and has always has know each and every person intimately , He wants us to know Him intimately which is why He has preserved and published His Word . Putting a middle man or woman , a human , in between ourselves and our God is I think a mistake . I'm sorry to say that I don't trust any human that much . He's my God it's my salvation and I want to know what's expected of me and what God has to offer me . This site is fab , it's full of different personalities with different view points and I've been provoked and enlightened by many posts on here and I believe that the vast majority of people on here are genuine Truth seekers , that's why I keep coming back . In churches I have heard many excellent sermons , I've also heard a few duffers . When I go to church I want to be provoked into thinking and seeking even harder than normal , I love it love it love it when some one else knows more than me and shares their knowledge . I want to learn not be placated or comforted by some one who only knows how to do those two things . I want to be enlightened not lulled into a false sense of security ' he's better educated than me so he must know better than me : I don't have to read or study , that's what my pastor is for '. That creates in me laziness , which I'm already inclined to . God is beautiful , I want to learn of His beauty and have it full my heart with joy , I get that from His pure Word , from the Bible , we humans tarnish every thing with our dirty hands . God is clean and bright and pure and beautiful and I trust Him implicitly . He's in the Bible , so that's where I'm going , see you there .

Hi Gigi , in love I have to disagree with you there . God gave us His Word , the Bible so that we may learn of Him . I read every post on here and respect every ones right to their opinions but I don't follow what any person says . I believe God wants us to understand His Word and when we , as individuals , read and study it diligently , He Himself will help us to understand it . I put no trust in humans at all unless I know and trust that person is a genuine Christian , a Truth seeker , I wouldn't ask their advice on scripture . I don't know what your experience of religious 'authorities ' is but in my experience : once I discover that I know more than they do they are not an authority to me . On this site there are sooo many people with more knowledge and understanding than me , that's what keeps me coming back , ordinary folk who desire to know the Truth . God is not the author of confusion , I'm not an intellectual , I'm a Truth seeker . I have brothers and sisters all over the world who are in isolation and all they have is a paper Bible . No electricity nothing , no pastor etc , they are learning directly from the Source of All Life and Righteousness . We can too , He makes sure of that . Seek and you will find .With Christian love . In the old days in England , we had a period called the dark ages , the only people who could read were upper class and the church , it's not called the dark ages for nothing . Have you heard of the Spanish Inquisition ? True horror stories of so called 'authorities' . We don't need them . We need God and His living Word and we can find that in the Bible and in our prayers and in the little sacrifices we make every day when we don't do what we want to do because we know it's wrong .

Thank you for replying to me Matt H . I'm a middle aged woman , there's no one more angry than a middle aged woman lol . I have to be careful with anger because if I don't get a grip on it it turns into sorrow for me . I can give you list of all the things I see that make me angry but it would take me a week to write it . I believe Jesus got angry , how could he not with all the hardheartedness around him . I've been reading the Bible for 27 years so I'm quite familiar with it . Reading between the lines is some thing I do when I can't quite understand some thing . I try to imagine why some one said or did some thing . When I was young I loved 'whodunnit' novels so my instinct is to look for clues , even in the Bible . The Bible never stops giving , never stops revealing , even after 27 years . That's part of its appeal , it's never dull because it's a slow reveal , the more times you read it the more things fall into place . This world doesn't often get a rise out of me any more , I feel the anger nip my brain occasionally but I'm very sad to say that the evilness of people no longer surprises me . It still saddens me though . Only God and His love and His mercy and His promises and His son Jesus Christ the Righteous oh and this site and the people on it , cheer me up every day . That includes you Matt , so if you sound a bit annoyed I'm gonna ask you 'whats up ' . Be joyfull , Christ is coming and he loves you !

I live in my room and cook in my room because i allow my some and wife to come live with me until they got on their feet. it's been years now and i can't continue going up the stairs and not enjoying my home. I work nights and i must sleep during the day but most everyday the babies are yelling and screaming all day. I love my family but i need my son to get a place and take care of his family. meanwhile i take care of my daughter two sons. It was only suppose to be until she got a place. she is living with a man she say she is engaged to only have a one bedroom. i have to come home from work in the mornings and take them to school or school bus. make sure they are fed. I want my daughter to get a two bedroom and get get her boys. i am almost 60 years old and my body suffers mulitiple muscle pain. and now i am in a boot. my ankles are swollen and painful. I stay prayful and i am doing my best but tired. Please pray for me and my strength and that God gives me wisdom on the matter. thank you.

Indeed brother Adam - well written. When we come with our own biases, or just accepting what someone has taught us, or even what seems reasonably unacceptable to our rational/logical thinking, then we can move off in a tangent from what the Word has revealed to us to believe. And the further we move on that tangent of belief, many other Scriptures have to be mentally modified to fit our belief for them to make sense. Then true biblical hermeneutics is thrown out of the window so that rational thinking is given preference for understanding the Bible.

Dear "English Sacha". Thank u soo much. I have longing for some KJ scripts for a long time becouse ill give my away, in hope that the person will read and fill the soul with Holy Words. :D

Soo i have many times since that first time give thankful word back. And pray for u all located grounded in my heart from the King of Kings, is not a heavy burden.

We are led by the spirit of God , and by the renewing of the mind in the word of God we are conformed to God not the world . If we are in tune with God by his Holy Spirit we also know when others are not in tune .

This also has been my experience.

If you tell them to clean their rooms, they'll probably be quiet for a while. :)

I got rid of cable and got YouTube Premium. It has SUPERBOOK Bible stories which I watch with my grandson. You can set it so they only see children's programming. (And don't give into the whining) Youtube has hundreds of Christian movies and programs.

With my kid, he needed an hour after school to play outside, scream and climb on everything.

Kids need to vent just like adults. I sacrificed for that 1 hour. I'd would put them in separate rooms to do homework; OR move up bath times so you can make dinner.

I had 4 siblings growing up, so I know this works. My poor mother. We had family " Grievance" meetings. Some day they will move away to start their families and then it's too quiet.

My one trick, was to cook a huge pot of some food on Saturday afternoon and freeze it in pint containers for "quick home cooked meals" for emergencies.

Teach them Card games. We loved them. Slapjack, battle.

You should visit in the questions room sometime. Talking and praying helps. I'll tell you how my brother climbed tall trees in lightning storms with a telescope to see the lightning better. GOD BLESS EVERY MOTHER!! You are loved very tenderly but Jesus.

  • You Have a Friend in Jesus - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Mark,

I don't know your age. Mine is soaring lol. I've seen some decades. When my soul needs company I read Psalms. It helps to know someone else had the same feelings.

Right now what's going on in this nation, is hard to recognize. So we have to encourage ourselves as King David did. I wish I was musical. I appreciate those who are.

You are doing the right things, as you told. I'm kind of a solitary kind of person. But I know that there beats the heart of an evangelist in here, and I go out routinely and initiate a conversation with complete strangers. I'm comfortable with my odd routines. Many people are being affected by what's happening: sheltering, wearing masks, and all that.

We are really living in the last days. We see prophesy unfolding. My eyes have always seen the uniqueness of this world. So many different people, nations, cultures. The sheer beauty of earth that God made and all the creatures and vegetation's. We know heaven is going to be even more stunning. It's like we are waiting for the big event.

You'll feel better if you set aside time to seek friendship, conversation and contact with flesh and blood people. Social websites can't do that. There's something about sharing a park bench or tiny tables in a coffee shop. I talk to all ages. I find friends at Goodwill, Subway or Home Depot.

I like church groups that meet for dinner once a week. Everybody brings something. One time this gal brought a head of lettuce and we giggled all night.

We need to go outside the house and talk to neighbors. No one wants to talk politics LOL

I might start with "I have a blue parakeet that needs a new home; he reminds me of my brother. Laughing feels good. Father lift Mark in the spirit of his mind; to live in your Light and joy. Amen.

Come join us in the QUESTIONS room. They fully discussed 'hell tonight'. Bless you. Mishael

I would like to give my view on Mathew 13:33. Which is just another perspective.

First we must read over verses 24 to 32 to get the flavor for lack of better terms.

Your see the parable with the tares, and also the birds of the air, These are not positive parables and neither is verse 33.

    Matthew 13:24-32.

Now we come to verse 33.

Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. The Lord has a Jewish audience and they would understand that 3 measures of meal is a fellowship offering established back in Genesis 18:6.

Leaven is always spoken of as evil in and all throughout scripture and is never to be put into the meal offerings all but one occasion, Feast of Pentecost. ( Shavuot ). Leviticus 23:16-17. Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.

Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD. These parables parallel with Leviticus 23:16-17. Leaven speaks of corruption. Leviticus 23:16-17. prophesies what's to become of the Church as we see it today. If verse 13 was anything good it would be out of context with the other parables.

    God bless.

Lena, as Gods kids we have to read His Bible. It builds up your faith. If we have the faith of a mustard seed, we can take out giants. That is actually smaller than a hamburger poppyseed.

Our nation is in such disarray, it's overflowing into our homes. I have to do this too: ask God to forgive me every time I wonder something out loud (like, when is the world going to be normal again?!)

I pick 2 things I want to watch on tv, a day, and then I turn off the screaming. Read 2-3 chapters in the Bible. Your faith grows. Jesus is coming back soon. We ought to want to know more about Himcause we'll all be living in heaven with Him.

On your behalf I'm going to ask our Father if he will send an Angel to keep you in all your ways, for a time. To protect and guide you.

My Angel likes music. We listen to Dion: Still in the Spirit, album. It's on YouTube :D
  • Matt. - In Reply on Isaiah 18 - 4 years ago
Was Jesus angry? Does The Father get angry, such that you want to help Him sort it out?

    Lol. Regards, Matt.

PS - Might we chat about how "anger" is not necessarily the only option apart from nice agreement? I confess I do already know the scope of that discussion. Praise God.

My advice to you, as a Very Specially Loved Heart, is that rather than reading in between the linesyou might try to read the lines themselves. Go back to the original comments here.

Hi Hinhe To make a point the spirit we are given is the gift of Holy Spirit as we change our thinking to Gods Word then we walk better by the spirit we were given we are not controlled by it we operate it that's why its called gift. Then the more you exercise your thoughts the more we work or operate the gift. The Spirit comes in use once I.E. born again.

Ephesians 6. Spirits are invisible, but the Bible tells us to fight back in Jesus name. The sword is scriptures coming out of your mouth.

    Say. IT IS WRITTEN ________________

Find a scripture that will be a weapon.

I think the best ones are in the gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John.

In Jesus name I agree that Satan and his demon spirits are bound from coming against you, and they must go into outer darkness to wander forever. Amen.

Go thru your home and see if there any objects that are giving them "permission" to come back.

Astrology books, worldly literature, stuff like that.

    May God bless you.
