    Matthew 18:19-20

That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, THERE AM I, in the midst of them.

I am agreeing with you that every need would be supplied, according to your Word; Ask and it will be given to you. Amen. Thank you Lord.

Advise: Once I went to a temp agency and you might get something there. Try to trim your resume down to 1 Page. If they teach resume writing or interview skills, take that. Staying busy is the best thing now.

Go to church. Give a tithe in pure faith. Maybe help the church office making copies or something else. We can't buy Gods favor, but we can be meek.

Putting Jn. 9:41 in its context, starting from verse 39. "And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see;"

( IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIDING ANYTHING IN SYMBOLIC FORM.)

-and that they which see might be made blind.

And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?

Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but ""NOW YE SAY, WE SEE;"" therefore your sin remaineth.

The Lord is pitting himself against the righteousness they trusted in, ( The law of Moses.)

John the baptist said "And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:" Israel was a degenerate vine. Jesus says in John 10 I AM the true vine. The blindness is all apart of Gods redemption plan. Here's the conclusion. Romans 11:30-32 (KJV) For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. Jesus came to open eyes for those who trust in him.

    God bless

By praying this daily, your innermost being will be lifted up in faith. He will keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you.

[I had an interviewer pull me aside after a really bad one. He said keep answers brief and don't tell your life story. Just answer the questions. Put forth desire to contribute to the organization and be available to advance as knowledge increases.

Don't wear perfume. Look the person speaking in the eyes. Relax your hands. Be someone they will like working with.]

    Prayer

DearGod,I thank you that you have a job forme, and I know that in whatever position you placeme,I will be blessed. I am blessed when I come in and when Igo,and I know that I am above only and not beneath. You have blessed me and called me your own.

I know that my success is found in youand you have given me the ability to perform my job withexcellence. It is in you thatIreceive promotion, increase and success and I thank you thatyourblessing and favor will be awaiting me at the new job that you have for me. Amen! Thank you Jesus

    Good perspective, Rick!

It is interesting that Jacob grabbed Esau's heel at their birth. They may have been side by side in the womb and wrestled to be first out. Jacob was a wrestler from the start, it seems.

    Kevin,

So sorry for the loss of Caleb. That is a horrible thing to go through. May you continue to be comforted by the Lord every day and every time you think of Caleb.

Thank you for your comment. I agree, no one should try to silence anyone else on this sight. I have not done so and don't feel that anyone has done that to me. I have walked with Jesus all these 65 years. Agreed, with age, we learn to think lovingly of others, especially those who share in the salvation of Jesus Christ. many times I read things and choose not to respond. Other times I prayerfully consider if I should respond and how I am to respond. I do think that the Holy Spirit does give us the words we are to say when we are prayerful. Having a strong stance on a topic or responding to what I perceive to be a "red flag" is not being harsh nor an effort to "win" the discussion. It is to present thoughts and beliefs that others may have not thought about or heard before, the same as for others who post their ideas.

Those of us on this site have chosen to be here. (I kind of got here by "accident" as I was not particularly looking for such a forum. But God knows and draws us where He wants us to be. I would not want anyone to leave this site for reasons you implied. But if they do, I am confident that the Lord will lead them to something better and more suitable for them. I believe we should be kind in our words, but truthful, discussing the things of God without putting anyone else down in name calling, etc. Yet, even when we do this from a stance of kind-hearted truthfulness, another person may still be offended by what someone posts. That should be expected in such a forum where anonimity is easily preserved and personally knowing others is not possible as in a congregation or group that meets in person and develops relationships that are more full.

I appreciate your perspective and thank you for your advice.

That's interesting stories , but it does not address the question , about inviting the Holy Spirit .

If anyone invited the Holy Spirit , it seems to me that would make him a guest . And the Inviter the host . Seems kinda backwards to me .

God calls to repentance and the repentant one is in subjection to God in everything.

Even those that said to the Lord Jesus after the door was closed they cast out demons and did many wonderful works .

So if you have solid verses of scriptures, let's take a look . Thank you !

Earl, one last thing about the doctrines. Doctrines are just teachings that are accepted by the church as true. Please do not despise the idea of commonly held doctrines. Most are not a deception to us. However, each person deciding their own doctrines can be very deceptive. such attitudes usually indicate a resistance to accept direction from "authority" (which would be anyone God places in your life to teach and disciple you). Not all "authorities are appointed by God, but He has set in the church, teachers, pastors, evangelists for the building up of the body of Christ.

    God Bless

    Romans 8

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

    This is my favorite
  • GiGi again - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Earl, to continue.

Jesus said that he would build his church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. I believe that the Holy Spirit preserves, builds up, and sustains the church.

In your post it seems you assumed things about me that you cannot know. I have had to shed so much tradition over the years as the Lord has shown me how they hinder rather than help me in my walk with Him and in my witness to others. I have enjoyed the freedom of operating outside of tradition and the discipline that some traditions provide, such as fasting, attending worship services (that have their own traditions, depending on the type of service chosen for the congregation), certain aspects of a liturgy, participating in house church, learning from a sermon, gathering with friends to sing and fellowship. God works in his Church through all of these things. I am sure you have discovered a number of things that help you. As you repeat anything that helps a person in their spiritual development, it becomes a tradition for you.

Earl, I think that most long held doctrines that can be traced all the way back to the early church days of the apostles and their disciples after them are true. I do know that heresies were introduced to the body of Christ from the start and continued to be seeded in the church by the enemy throughout the centuries. Paul and the other authors of the epistles spoke often about those who brought false teachings and beliefs into the churches. The early church made determinations about specific heresies. Over the centuries many traditions were established in the church, whether Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant. Some were helpful to the body of Christ and some were destructive. Tradition in itself is not good or bad. However, it cannot be elevated above Scripture and the teachings and doctrines spelled out by Jesus and the apostles.

For 1500 years from the time of Christ, the Scriptures were not read by everyday people. Most people could not read. there was not a way to efficiently copy the Scriptures for widespread distribution. This allowed for corruption to creep into the church and deceive and enslave many for centuries. The Reformation was a move of the Holy Spirit and the providence of God in willing the invention of the printing press. For the first time in history, Scriptures were available to anyone who could read the language of the Bible. In the centuries that followed, education of the populace became promoted, children began to go to school and learn to read, Bibles were translated in the languages of the people. These things were great blessings, but, just like in the early years of the church, heretical interpretations of the Scriptures began to be promoted by Protestant church leaders and common believers. Also, different sects began to form as certain groups emphasized some matters more than others and these emphases differed from sect to sect, congregation to congregation. Despite all of this, the church of Christ will continue to be preserved.

Earl, please see my post to David about this.

    David,

Thank you. that was my thought about the leaven hidden in the dough. The gospel (leaven) was given by Jesus to just a few at first (the apostles), and not many noticed. But with preaching of the gospel with power from the Holy Spirit, the leaven grew or spread throughout the dough. I think of the dough as the world and over time, according to the work of the Holy Spirit, the gospel (leaven) infiltrated the entire world (dough) just as Jesus had commissioned the disciples to do.

In a way I see the leaven as the church, haven begun in a small way, but over time multiplied in the dough (world) until the world was filled with many believers as the church was and is added to daily. I do not think this verse speaks to the leaven being hidden meanings in Scripture, as Earl seems to imply. Sorry, Earl, this Scripture does not convince me to your way of thinking. But, the Spirit is at work in all of us to learn and grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

    Hello Clayton,

Verse 14 is the conclusion, and the teaching of the parable of the wedding feast:

14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

We can see the application of what it means that many are called, but few are chosen?

Even people who want to come to the wedding feast, if they don't have the proper garments, they will not be chosen. Period!

Many are called but few are chosen.

This man was at the wedding feast. He was there. He was at the banqueting table, but he was asked leave. Well, he wasn't asked to leave, the ushers took him out.

He was not chosen. He didn't have the proper wedding garment on!

And the bible is very clear, especially when you get into the book of Revelation, is that when we are in heaven, we will be clothed in the robes of the righteousness of Christ.

In fact, we will have on white robes that have been dipped in blood. And they will be pure white. It is because of the purity of Christ and the forgiveness of Christ.

Only those people who have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ, and who are dressed in His righteousness, will be at God's banqueting table.

I believe that one should understand the plain meaning of a Scripture section first. I don't mean that everything in the Bible should be taken literally. There are verses in the Bible that are literal accounts or an event, others that are allegorical, others that are prophetic, others that are wisdom literature (Proverbs), others that are expressions of worship, (Psalms) with imagery and words of praise. I try to be aware of the genre of the passage I am reading so I can know more how to understand it. Some verses are both literal and prophetic, prophetic and allegorical, etc. However, I do not believe that every word and verse in Scripture has a hidden meaning. We will just be in disagreement on that topic. I do thank you for sharing you ideas here. It is always helpful to consider what people say prayerfully and from a kind heart. I do this here.
  • Reasons to learn Dominion and Authority of Jesus - In Reply - 4 years ago
I learned as a baby Christian how to bind and cast out demons. Maybe we can't see them, but their stinking fruit is all over the place. They were pretty sure I needed killing. I don't know why?

When I found out demons don't have authority to do anything__because THEY ARE NOT HUMAN! NEITHER IS SATAN!! HE IS A CREATED BEING.

He was 4th in line to the Throne and got tossed out by Michael to earth, on Fathers order. All his hostilities are directed to those God loves. He loves Jesus, and Jesus loves me!

The deal is, Jesus is the Son of God AND THE SON OF MAN. Human. He gave us his Authority to cast out demons, heal the sick, raise the dead. I haven't raised anyone deceased. My Dad aspirated food the night he died. He was drowning. My siblings signed a DNR with my mother and didn't tell me. Alone I watched my Dad struggle at least an hour. I begged God to heal him. I begged nurses to summon an ambulance.

A spirit came in his room (death?) and said audible, LEAVE! I'm going to take your father now!

I was ready to fight, but the sight of Dad drowning was unbearable. I was gone 3 minutes. When I came back, my dads face was relaxed, kind of glowing and looked happy. I said, I'll see you later Dad and I went home.

The really bad thing about sex demons, is that it isn't human. It seeks a body to borrow and they'll use any body available that is NOT indwelled by the Holy Spirit and washed in the blood of Jesus.

That's what marriage between Christians is for: protection of the family.

It's also why porn is so hard to put away. You don't watch that alone. Demons are there too.

BUT THERE IS HOPE! We have Dominion, God gave to humans in Genesis. And Jesus gives us His Authority to cast out all NON HUMANS, into outer darkness to wander. Use Bible names. Everything sexual is AN UNCLEAN SPIRIT.

Watch 'Authority of the Believer' by Charles Capps on YouTube. Listen slow. Prepare to be free.

    David,

I agree with you on this. Jesus was not forced on anything. He chose to do the Father's will every moment of every day. He was tempted, but chose not to sin. He used his freedom to live a perfectly obedient life, unlike all of mankind.

I enjoy reading the comments. It is clear that the revelation of the spirit lives and reigns in the pure word of God. Paul reiterates how important it is that we exalt one another. Growing in the revelation and knowledge of the Lord Jesus! John 3;16 and 17, are the two verses I can remember. Memorization is a must! something I find difficult. Thank you for the fellowship!

It appears that many are not allowed to have a full discussion, it seems they are accused of something then cut off . This is called censorship. Will you post this comment?

Your room has a bent and does not permit a serious challenge . Just my observation, some good posts and honest questions some times . But defending the truth is not one of them .

Reading Scripture I find even More that the Bible speaks to Believers,So where does this come from that Unbelivers Preach the Word of GOD?

I question taking the breaking of bread from an unbeliver is it proper to break bread with Unbelivers? Should this not be done with fellow Believers??

I know lots of people taking the breaking of Bread with unbelivers saying,it's not between you and fellow man it's between you and God?? Hmm I don't find that in Scripture
  • Eating Heavy Bible Every Day With Jesus - 4 years ago
I can read whole books of the Bible every day. (I'm retired) I turn off the phone, the tv, get a large water and pray that my eyes and heart be open to the Holy Spirit.

He's our Teacher. Book of John 14:28,

    John 16:13-14, 1 Peter 2:2,

    1 Corinthians 3:2

If we're not quoting scripture like The Son of God, what are we learning?

Acts 19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; BUT WHO ARE YOU?!

This is what we need. More Christians quoting scripture like the Son of God.

I have visions ok. I had this one of me as a baby Christian: I was sitting on a chair by this big table. I had my arms on the table pulling food into my mouth. Everybody's face looks on with disgust. Then I hear Jesus laughing at the head of the table. He was pleased.

Jesus likes to see a healthy appetite!

If I sound kinda rowdy it's because I'm from Texas. If we all ate the Bible like Texans can pack on some barbecue, we'd all be firing scripture like the Son of God.

When Jesus was in the desert, fasting 40 days and nights: he was challenged by Satan. Jesus said, IT IS WRITTEN: and He fired off the appropriate Scripture. He defeated Satan each time. We can too. We're his disciples because we follow Him.

The only arrows in our quiver, are scriptures. Your Sword of the Spirit enlarges with Gods WORD in our mouth.

    God provides. We obey.

we need to be examples to others. Good examples. Chief rulers believed, but could not confess as they will be kicked out of the synagogue. If we mistreat people of a certain type, our children will see it and pass it on to them.

There are seducing spirits out there too can they come too ?

How about some solid scriptures on inviting Spirits .
