  • Taking a Leap of FAITH. - In Reply on Isaiah 18 - 4 years ago
    Jeremiah 17:9

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

    Ezekiel 33:8

When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

That other verse: the Tree is known by its fruit.

It means that Jesus is that tree, and we are grafted into His Life. How we conduct ourselves in all ways; looks like Jesus, sounds like Him, prays to Our Father; in Jesus's Name.

By reading all of the Bible, we come to understand what the Godhead (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) is like. ROMANS 1. They made this world that we should respect and love, every day.

Scriptures light us up on the inside. That light flows outward on a hurting world that needs Him.

Peter walked by a blind beggar on the street and his heart was overcome by his need. He said, silver and gold I do not have; but what I have, I give to you. The man was healed.

I was healed the day I met Jesus. I had been a very sinful person. I didn't deserve to be saved. But he pulled me out of the mouth of the hell I lived in. That was 36 yrs ago. Every day with Jesus is JOY. I am loved completely. No one has ever loved me so.

Your walk with God can be shallow or deep. I took a leap off my painful reality right into His arms. No matter what happens He has never let go of me.

Open your heart and live on full display. His life Light, will shine through you. Take that leap.

    Mishael

Hi Gigi What she is talking about the mystery of the one body of Jews in Gentiles in christ the knowledge of it was given to Paul in this the age of grace. Now the operation of it started on Pentecost, this as Paul wrote was hid in God, the prophets did not know it the original 12 apostles operated it but Paul was given the information by Jesus Christ after he ascended to heaven. Galatians 1:11+12, Ephesians 3:1-4, 1 Peter 1:10-12, the spiritual abilities we have are so great in 1 Corinthians 2:6-8 if the adversary who is the great prince of this world would have known what we who believe were given he would not have crucified our lord. That is what Angela is talking about, Romans through thessalonians is written to the church of God, not saying the gospels are not important its all Gods Word.

Matt H. I believe we have an error in communication here, the goal is to put God first in everything through Christ.

  • A LOVE STORY FOR THOSE LOOKING FOR LOVE - In Reply on Genesis 26 - 4 years ago
You will love Genesis 24: a love story. The servant of the house is a picture of the Holy Spirit. He prays all along this journey to God. (Verse 9, 12, 26, 52,)

I think it's a perfect design for seeking a wife (for Christian men).

Ask God to send the Holy Spirit to take you to the right woman for you. Marriage is very sacred. God created it and performed the first marriage.

The story shows what a Christian bride to be,

is to model after. [ Proverbs 31 and the book of Ruth] Marriages can fail when one partner is unsaved; causing the other to be unequally yoked.

I like verse 65, Rebekah sees Isaac and says Wowie! And covers herself. Verse 67 says Isaac was a happy husband till he died. Inspirational.

    Diane.

Remember, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His body is no longer corruptible as it was on earth. Like you said, it is glorified, taking on the incorruptible, but still a body that can be touched. He ate with the disciples after appearing to them post-resurrection. Our bodies will become like that in the resurrection, but we are still the same human person. The same is true of Jesus. The difference is that He had an eternal existence before becoming a human while still being God, we did not exist prior to conception and none of us are or will be God. We are invited to fellowship with the one true God that exists as three persons in on God. Such a mystery this is. We accept it on faith.

I am drawn to the epistles written by Paul, but really, they are the inspired of God, just like all of the others writings in both new and old testament. I do not rank the Scripture wirings by giving the "newest" the pre-eminence in importance. They are all important as Paul states in 2 Timothy 3:16; "All Scripture is God-breathed,.."

this includes the old and new testament, the gospels, acts, epistles and book of revelation. It is all about Jesus, all point to Him, and all find their fulfillment and purpose in putting forth Jesus as Savior and Lord. Some things to consider.

To God be the glory, forever and ever.

Praise God for His provision of mercy and justification through Christ to satisfy His otherwise unattainable requirement to Love Him With All Our Heart, Mind and Strength.

If we could by our oen intent and works so obediently love God, Christ would not have needed to die and resurrect. Praise God for His revealed Word and Granted Wisdom.

I am praying for you, Rick.

It is not possible for anyone other than The Lord to "see" another person's heart. Do you agree? Hopefully.

It is a cancerous error to presume to either see another person's heart, even to be able to "check their fruit." Discipleship and Lordship are not required for Salvation, regardless of how spiritual such things may sound.

That was interesting you mentioning 'a food vendor company implanting a digital ID card in the hand'. After reading that, I received a video showing how this chip implantation that commenced about two years ago in Sweden, is becoming more widespread & very acceptable by the general Swedish populace. Cash is practically obsolete there. The scene is being prepared for the anti-christ to slip in with his diabolical reign of terror in the future.

Thanks, I do think they used familial terms loosely. God did not punish Isaac for what he said. To us, it seems like deception, but seeing that God blessed Isaac greatly, the people around were not willing to "mess" with him by violating Rebekah.
  • Chris - In Reply on Genesis 26 - 4 years ago
Just a quick comment on 'Rebekah being called Isaac's sister; I'm reminded of an oft expressed phrase in eastern culture, when a man you're speaking with introduces you to his brother who has just joined him. Ordinarily, the western mind safely concludes that the visitor is an actual brother. But in very close relationships, a cousin is considered a brother in the broader sense, so in their mind they have not misled you. Knowing this, I then might question him of the actual relationship, to which he sheepishly agrees that he is actually a cousin.

I wonder if the same 'deception' is used here as Abraham did with Sarah. Their action may not be commendable yet respected because of the acceptability of stretching the word . Therefore, this ambiguity was used to their advantage, guaranteeing preservation of their lives. Just a thought, though might not be so in this instance.

Sasha A major point to keep in mind about God what we believe about God or have been taught about his word dictates our actions based on that belief system. In other words if someone says do this and God will bless you and it doesn't work its not Gods fault because if its according to His Word it has to work. Signs miracles and wonders follow those who believe but it must be accurate or doubt fear and frustration will defeat the individual because of either ignorance or wrong doctrine based on mans idea not power of scripture better stated as IT IS WRITTEN. The same word spoken and acted on by believers used properly will produce the same results today as they did in the bible why because God Hasn't Changed, Jesus Christ the same yesterday Today and Tomorrow. God Bless

Abraham's bosom? Jesus refers to himself in the bosom of the Father? Lazarus is resurrected into the bosom of Abraham. why not Moses or Noah? Is it that these two are their with Abraham already? Perhaps it was because Abraham seed would become the promise of the Son, Jesus ? That even though Lazarus died before the life of Christ, it would be the same seed needed to enter into the life? The seed being the same, hope of Eternal life in and through the promise of the seed, the same seed we now call faith in the risen Christ! This is as the transfiguration into heaven, Lazarus carried into heaven by the Angels! Brought into the tree of life? This picture of the rich man in essence now begging, there is no indication that Lazarus is their experiencing the rich man's place in torment, this is Hell, the separation from life!

I am rich. I have a home, my health, not begging. Even so ,this parable should stop you, make you think what is important in this life! Is your stuff more important? Are you thinking that because you are not rich that this could not happen to you or me? Eternal separation, how awful this should ever be! That we too ,should cling even more unto Christ, asking for forgiveness in every moment of every day! God forgive me . For Jesus sake!

I was trying to follow your thinking, but it was a bit confusing. Paul was on equal standing as all of the other apostles. the gospel was revealed to all of the apostles and they were all commissioned by our Lord to go into all of the world to preach the food news of forgiveness of sins in Christ. The Spirit of God taught all of the apostles the same as Paul. God does not contradict Himself. The gospels are for us, the Gentiles, too. They teach us about Jesus, who was fully God and fully man at the same time. The body of Christ worships Jesus still as true God and true man. He is in heaven with his glorified human body, in union with the Father and the Spirit. The same Jesus who walked on earth is the same Jesus who was resurrected and ascended to heaven. He did not shed his humanity once he got into heaven. To speak otherwise is to promote ages old heresies that deny to humanity of Jesus in heaven. The Old Testament is for us, Gentiles, too. It shows us the history of God working in our world from creation forward, not just when the church came into existence with the giving of the Holy Spirit at Pentacost. There are many places to begin studying the Bible, it really depends on the background of the person wishing to begin. I usually recommend beginning with the Gospels so that the person is introduced to Jesus right off as a first thing. They need to know who Paul or the other authors of the epistles is talking about when they name Jesus, the Christ, our Lord.

    Genesis 27:41

And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said IN HIS HEART, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; THEN will I my brother Jacob.

    Romans 9:13

As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

    Malachi 1:3

And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

    Obadiah 1:18

And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.

    KJV Commentary: Esau means

Hairy, Rebekah's first-born twin son ( Gen. 25:25). The name of Edom, "red", was also given to him from his conduct in connection with the red lentil pottage for which he sold his birthright (30, 31). The circumstances connected with his birth foreshadowed the enmity which afterwards subsisted between the "twin brothers and the nations they founded (25:22, 23, 26). In the process of time Jacob following his natural bent, became a shepherd; while Esau, a "son of the desert," devoted himself to the perilous and toilsome life of a huntsman. On a certain occasion, on returning from the chase, urged by the cravings of hunger, Esau SOLD his birthright to his brother, Jacob, who thereby obtained the covenant blessing ( Gen. 27:28, 29, 36; Heb. 12:16, 17). He afterwards tried to regain what he had so recklessly parted with, but was defeated in his attempts through the stealth of his brother ( Gen. 27:4, 34, 38). At the age of forty years, to the great grief of his parents, he "married ( Gen. 26:34, 35) two Canaanite maidens,

Esau tried to conciliate his parents ( Gen. 28:8, 9) by marrying his cousin Mahalath, the daughter of Ishmael. This led him to cast in his lot with the "Ishmaelite tribes (present day Palestinians) and driving the Horites out of Mount Seir, he settled in that region.

"Ishmael" will not stop until he takes all lands from Israel (Isaac).

God cut a covenant with Abraham, and that Covenant is still in force.

Ishmael was never at peace being the elder "son" but not the heir that got the Land.

Israel cannot give land for peace. Those lands are covered by Covenant. They might try to agree to Two State, in order to build the 3rd Temple peacefully. They cannot do that.

Antichrist will sit on the throne of the 3rd Temple. Then God is going to show up.

I pray over this situation Lord. We are still all human and there's clearly some very hurt feelings on both sides. I pray that you would miraculously help each of them to somehow humble theirselves in (Your) love Father. That the best possible outcome would spring forth and heal all of their hurts/hearts and unite them in love and forgiveness once again. You can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we think or ask! Let there be a willingness.
