Verse 18 says that Abraham was not sure if the fear of the Lord was in this place. that is why I think Abraham and Sarah presented Sarah as his sister, to test and see if the inhabitants fear god, and if they don't, God will cause them to have this fear and respect.

I like that God said that Abraham is a prophet. He knew that Abimelech would respect Abraham as God's chosen man since God agreed that Abimelech had integrity. Glad that Abimelech accepted Abraham to pray for him. He was able to see God's restoration of is household with wombs being opened. Just wondering, was Sarah's opened at that time also?

Greeting in the awesome name of the Lord our God! I have read the comments on this chapter. Thank you for contributing! In this chapter, once again Abraham and Sarah agree for her to say she is Abraham's sister when encountering another magistrate from the surrounding area, like in Egypt. Many seem concerned about Sarah actually being Abraham's half sister. I think this was common in tribal cultures. God did not condemn the relationship and protects both Sarah and Abraham. In Ur, when Abraham married Sarah, there may not have been available relatives from the line of Nahor his grandfather living in the area for him to choose a wife from. Or he relatives of Abrahams grandfather and uncles who lived in the area may have already been married or were too steeped in the pagan religions of the area and therefore were not suitable for Abraham for God's purposes.

In revisiting these chapters on Abraham once again now wonder if God had told Abraham to have Sarah say she is his sister in order that the magistrates in the respective kingdoms would be put in a position to to have to discover the power of The God of Abraham. The Pharoah in Egypt did not want to take another man's wife, but still sickness came to his household and he needed to inquire of Abraham. This gave God the opportunity to show the Pharoah His power and Abraham's favor by God. Pharaoh recognized the supremacy of Abraham's God and showered him with riches as Abraham left the area. A healthy respect was created in Pharaoh for God. He knew not to mess with Abraham.

With Abimelech, not intending to take another man's wife had good intention and God spoke to him in a dream. He, too, was able to learn that the God of Abraham was real and powerful and that this God favored Abraham. He needed to inquire of Abraham just like Pharaoh, and learned to respect both God and Abraham for future meetings, (which probably occurred) sending Abraham away with the choice of the land to tend his flocks.

I have heard that some people view the Bible as teaching that hell will last forever. Others contend that after so long a time God will end the suffering because He is a merciful God. What does the Bible say about this?

    Thanks Chris,

I really can't say what influenced my sisters or how it came about that the enemy deceived them. I also know of a friends in laws, the dad is a pastor and one son is in ministry, but a sister and brother are homosexuals. They probably had a loving upbringing in a Christian home and still they were drawn into the lifestyle. Some things we will not be able to know but we can continue to pray and stand firm. Over the years my sisters have not had much to do with me because they know of my strong faith. One year, my sister who is 16 months older than me called me out of the blue and wanted to meet with me. We met and she shared that it bothered her that I could not accept her relationship with her partner, since I had declined to attend a commitment ceremony for their 25th yr. together, and I wrote why I could not attend.

We had a good discussion. much was said that got a lot of things out inn the open. We then meet monthly for dinner for a year or so to get to know each other more since we are sisters. She mentioned how nervous she was to first try to get to know me , but that now after she knew me better she realized I was a very kindhearted person and "safe" for her even though I still said I would continue to pray for her. (she did not like that) We now see each other a few times a year, but not as I would someone who shares my faith in Christ. My other two sisters have never initiated a conversation with me about their lifestyle and I have not spoken to them about it. I think it is up to them to reveal things to me. I am sure they feel uncomfortable about doing that and are concerned about what I might say. I treat them kindly when we have family events,, but don't feel right about entering their home or being very relational with them unless they would ask for it. I am sure they have talked with my other sister about our meetings that took place 15 years ago. It's different and I try to follow the lead of the Spirit only in interacting or not

Hi Leo That does not flow with the message of Abraham obeying Gods command to do what God told Him to the point of being willing to give His son believing and that God by the ram would provide the sacrifice. A tremendous account of unwavering believing. Here's even a greater perspective Abrahams committed walk was so big being called a friend of God that if he had to sacrifice his son that he figured God could resurrect Him that's just an interesting thought.

Hello Earl, since we do not know each other, but are brethren in Christ, I do want you to explain to me what you you are intending from your post that said that you believe the Spirit impressed you to tell me to dig deeper. What do you mean by digging deeper? I am open to receiving from others, but I do want to to know more about a person and their ideas behind a statement in order for me to learn from it or to at least prayerfully evaluate it for applicability. I have read all of those Scriptures and have rad them many times before. What prompted you to select those? I am sincere in my request. I am sensitive to the promptings of the Spirit, but if I have something for someone else, I usually give more explanation than to just suggest to someone that they find out on their own what the Spirit may be trying to work in them. I certainly able to inquire of the the Spirit on my own, but since you responded to my post, we now should seek to understand one another better.

Thanks for your comments. Yes , I agree it is good to have a good appetite for Scripture and more so for growing our relationship with Christ. With eating, having regular meals and snacks spaced well is a good strategy. Same is true for taking in God's Word, rather than feast or famine.

Lucifer was thrown out of heaven because he wanted to be God. Lucifer was God's right hand angel until he thought he could be God. Here are some of the verses that show where Lucifer was cast out of Heaven and on to the Earth where he (Lucifer) set up his kingdom.

Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

    16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

And in Luke chapter 10 verse 18 Jesus said I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. ( Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven). Lucifer is Satan and Lucifer / Satan is the prince of this world. Jesus never called Satan the King of this world Jesus just called Satan / Lucifer a prince of this world.

I hope this helps you understand

    God Bless

Stay prayed up and ready to go up

    Matthew 12:31

Precious friends, How can a "member" of The Body Of Christ, whose sins have ALL "Been FORGIVEN," then commit an Unpardonable sin which can NEVER "be forgiven"?

According To God's Sound Doctrine of His Free Gift Of ETERNAL Life, we do Not have 'temporary life conditioned' on "committing the Unpardonable sin."

If man's 'idea of temporary life' is true, then that would NEGATE A Vast Multitude Of God's Scriptures, In His Sound Doctrine of God's ETERNAL Salvation: Link

    Conclusion:

The "blasphemy of The Holy Ghost" is committed by Unbelievers who reject The Gospel of The GRACE Of God, and The ALL-Sufficient BLOOD Of CHRIST, for Forgiveness.

It is then IMPOSSIBLE for one With God's ETERNAL Life "Bestowed Upon them Forever" By God Himself, to commit "the Unpardonable sin, which can NEVER be Forgiven! Makes no sense, Correct?

However, a saint "in sin" Can:

    1) GRIEVE Ephesians 4:30, And

    2) Even QUENCH The Spirit Of God 1 Thessalonians 5:19, with results of

    3) "losing reward when they arrive in Heaven, and stand at The Judgment Seat Of CHRIST!" 1 Corinthians 3:6-11 1 Corinthians 3:12-15 Amen?

    Therefore:

"For The GRACE Of God that bringeth Salvation Hath Appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that Blessed Hope, and The Glorious Appearing of The Great God and our Saviour JESUS CHRIST; Who Gave Himself for us, that He might Redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." Titus 2:11-14

    Amen?

Please accept my apologies for the previous errors...

Some days are awful. It's like "train wreck" all day long (if I allow). You name it, it happens.

Then I realize that I must've done something RIGHT. :D I switch over to Praise & Worship.

I learned this through tears, heartache, frustrations, self-condemnation for not being better organized, etc. What that is, is full frontal spiritual warfare. The Fruit is there.

All we have to do, is STOP and Pray right then. Bind and send out the demons, and pray for God to send the angels in to escort "them" out. "They" are like little chaos demons. If that works, they bring in "doubts"; self attacks.

We need to DISCERN the Spirits. 1 Cor. 12. If we need that Gift, we can ask The Holy Spirit for it. He knows what we need. That's why I pray first.

I don't receive it as a personal failure. Anyone doing all the right things are going to be tempted.

In Genesis, God gave us DOMINION over Creeping Things. Demons are CREEPS. Prayer for them to be sent into Outer Darkness to Wander; WORKS.

Let's just see it for what it is. Job 1, was doing all the right things. Satan spied on him; was jealous of Gods protection of Job. He decided first to attack Jobs family, homes, wealth, health; and sent in "well-meaning friends" to accuse Job of sinning. Job is in want, need, misery, loss; but he holds tight to his faith in God. He refuses to let go and REACT.

    1. If you get tested a lot. It means you are tight and right, with God. Satan hates our guts for having what he has not, anymore.

    2. If we know someone being tested; let's not Pile On, like Jobs "friends". They got in trouble for it. Weep with those who are weeping. Prayers and words of blessing are more valuable than anything else. Self Pity and False Pity help nobody.

There's alot of good Truth in the Book of Job. In the End, God reveals His blessing to Jobs faith and holding onto Gods unchanging Love.

Realize you are doing something RIGHT.

Dear God, Please help this young soldier. Please hear his mommas prayers. Cover him with your feathers and grow him into a Holy Spirit filled young man of God. Strengthen him when he's weak, encourage him when he's doubtful, and hear him when he prays Lord! Please.

Be merciful to them all. Give them supernatural strength, ability, and favor. Protect them Father. Lead them to pray. Give them wisdom. Encourage them. Help them to encourage one another. Grow their faith. Be with them.

And for momma, a supernatural peace (from The Fathers heart) that passes understanding!

I ask this in Jesus Name! Thank You Lord God Almighty! Thank You You are faithful.

Question? Can any symbolic correlation be made for the entangled ram(v.13) and a representation of satan/the possible failure of Abrahams faith in Gods prior direction(v.1); being sacraficed?

Leviathan cannot be Lucifer because 2Esdra 6:52 says that he is kept to be devoured if whom thou wilt and when. Compare that to Psalm 74:14.

The scriptures show that Leviathan is a creature to be used for food

Hi Sandra Take time to look up Sept. 11th 3 b.c. this has been proven scripturally and historically and by accurate astronomy not astrology, in Psalm 19:1-6 the heavens and the earth declare the glory of God,also in Genesis 1:13 and god said Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night and let them be for signs [hebrew root word is to mark]and for seasons and for days and years. Gods word about creation is astronomy anything talking about astrology or the queen of heaven is occult.

The Grace [divine unmerited favour] towards fallen man, on the day of pentecost the birthday of the outpouring of Gods greatest gift Holy spirit i.e. Christ in you the mystery of the one spiritual body. One remarkable thing to consider in the gospels the disciples were blown away by everything the son of God displayed and why they could not understand the how or the source of his ability and why they themselves could not understand spiritual realities. That is why when Jesus Christ as the disciples who do men say I am, Peter said thou art the christ the Son of the living God then Jesus christ said FLESH and BLOOD hath not revealed this to you. Same reason they all betrayed Him because they out of fear did not believe why no spiritual understanding. On the day of pentecost they received and and acted on Spirit power then boldly Peter stands up with the eleven and gives the first unscripted teaching by inspired utterance the Spirit telling him not just what to say but how to the crowd in the temple. These men by shear believing not understanding fully what they had but remembered the scripture and as it says in Act where the leaders took note that they had been with Jesus. The full knowledge of what was given to write down was given to Paul The mystery that was Hid from ages and generations that the Jews and Gentiles fellow heirs of the one spiritual body of Christ. It was not made known to the prophets it was not even known to Jesus Christ the magnitude of what we were given because the bible says it was hid in God, also in 1 Corinthians 2:7+8 the mystery was set up by God before the world unto our Glory and what we have is so great that if the princes of this world knew it he would not have crucified Jesus christ. Now we who believe can walk in the greatness of what we have been given. We live so far below par, someday were gonna believe what god accomplished in Christ.
