What Jesus did was before the cross the New Testament had not taken place yet. Jesus was fulfilling the law. After the cross, it is a different story.

1st Timothy 4:4] For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

[5] For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

The old testament was the coming out of Egypt out of bondage. Moses had laws that nobody else did in the land. In the new testament our bondage is of sin we come out of.

Deutronomy 7:[7] The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

[8] But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Galations 4:21] Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

[22] For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

[23] But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

[24] Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

[25] For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

[26] But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

[27] For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

[28] Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

[29] But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

For anyone who thinks the the commandments are done away with, read all of psalm 119.

1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!

6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.

O let me not wander from thy commandments.

33 HE. Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.

34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

35 Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight.

126 It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law.

127 Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.

128 Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.

    Matt.6:8-13 The Lord's Prayer (1 of 2)

Again we find the use of conjunctive adverb in this verse:"After this manner therefore pray ye:" Here the emphasis is on faith. It is whosoever comes to God without exception it is enjoined. "or he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."(He.11:6) Having laid down the holiness of God, Jesus tells,"for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him."(6:8). Therefore faith is the foundation on which the heart of a believer serves him for a tabernacle. His faith and that of the risen Christ who is in the right hand of God being one, addresses thus, "Our Father which art in heaven" Our denotes the unity of purpose between the Petitioner and the Intercessor. Jesus promised us,"And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son./If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it."( John 14:13-14)

    v.9 "Hallowed be thy name."

"And in his temple doth every one speak of his glory."(Ps.29:9b) Compare this with the Pharisee in the Parable. "The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican./ I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess." ( Luke 18:11-12) He was seeking his own glory at His cost.

v.10 "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." As mentioned in an earliest post it refers to his abiding life and seeking the state That God may be all in all. "And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all."(1 Co.15:28)

v.11 "Give us this day our daily bread."

The term 'agape' fits here since 'this day' refer the blessings of heaven before the worlds began, no matter whatever circumstance we are in the 'now'. Elijah by Kerith brook.

Jesus said, "if you love me keep my commandments." If you love him, then keep the 10 commandments which are moral laws.

Jesus fulfilled the mosaic laws. That's why temple sacrifices are not needed. He fulfilled the mosaic laws once and for all.

December 25 is a pagan date and a tradition of man. Jesus was probably born in the fall. Shepherds and sheep would not be in the field freezing in December.

Jesus never ate anything unkosher in his life. Yet, Christians celebrate the resurrection by eating a ham. Kosher laws are NOT an issue of salvation. But, rather God looking out for us. It is not healthy for any human to eat scavenger animals. They are toxic and we will get sick from eating them.

Easter is actually a Catholic pagan holiday worshipping Ishtar. And, that's where the eggs and the rabbit come from. Instead, Celebrate the Passover.

There was a war in heaven and Satan was cast down to the earth.

Satan (Devil) empowers Pope (beast) to change times and laws. The Gregorian calendar is Catholic in opposition to God.

Gods feasts: Passover, feast of weeks(Shavuot), Feast of Trumpets (YomTeruah), Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), Feast of Tabernacles (sukkot) and the weekly Saturday sabbath. All these dates, HaSatan worked to eliminate from the mind through changes in the calendar.

    Thankfulness

I am so very thankful this morning. Thankful to the Lord most of all. Jesus is the greatest friend anyone could possibly have. This holiday will be spent with family, and some will come from afar. Yet, I'm moved in my heart knowing that so many will be alone this holiday. So many will no doubt spend this holiday behind bars, or sick in a hospital. Troubled souls will no doubt be wondering aimlessly without anywhere to go. It occurs to me that those in these types of conditions will not have anything to be thankful for. My prayer is that Jesus would find them this holiday. That his love would be poured out over the many who are suffering. Let's remember those less fortunate in our prayers this holiday. Not only in our prayers, but if we can somehow reach out, and be an encouragement, or a blessing somehow. Let us who are strong strengthen our fellow man who is downtrodden. I'm thankful for all of you, and for this opportunity to be able to express my heart, and hopefully I'm an encouragement to you. May the love of Jesus meet you where you're at today. May you experience Jesus in a whole new way. It's all about him anyway. I give thanks for the KING JAMES BIBLE, and this wonderful website. I'm sure anyone of you can go through a list of things that your thankful for, but I am thankful today. Thankfulness is the key that unlocks the gates to the courts of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I praise him today, and I magnify him. May your holiday be filled with blessings, spiritual blessings and may your walk with God be made firm as we go onward. That's the only way to go isn't it? Onward to greater things in God. Do you love the things of God? Let us love Jesus more, and more. May our fellowship be blessed, and may the light of the love of God rest in each and everyone of you. I can always use more of God's love. I'm thankful for His love that he has shown to me. What a friend we have in Jesus.

The Commandments of Moses = the law of sin and death the commandments of Jesus = the law of spirit and life.

2nd Cor 3:7] But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

[8] How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

9] For if the ministration of condemnation ((Moses laws)) be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness ((Jesus' laws)) exceed in glory.

[10] For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.

[11] For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.

Rev 14:12 there is a word you forgot "AND" ..The commandments of God AND the faith of Jesus"

Jesus never said if you love me keep Moses' commandments. Nope, keep his commandments. The ten commandments are grevious Jesus' aren't. Jesus' commandments 100% conditional love.

John 14:15] If ye love me, keep my commandments.

    [16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

21] He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

1st John 5:[2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

[3] For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Rev 22:14] Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

[15] For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

    What are Jesus' commandments?

    1) Sin not

    2) Be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect

    3) Love one another as I have loved you

    4) Matthew 5:3-48.

Jesus never endorsed Moses' ministry. He laid down the new foundation in Matthew 5.

Matthew 19:[8] He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

9] And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

The commandments of Jesus the law of spirit and life which sets us free from the law of Moses sin and death.

    Amen Gigi.

Don't get me wrong, It's a lot to be learned from this topic.

    #1 "What is Eternal Salvation?"

#2 When does ETERNAL Salvation start? And I re-emphasize Eternal.

As you know I try to address any Salvation topic.

I don't like entering any debate when the first time Postee introduce himself with that debate.

    S. Spencer,

I do not think you were implying I missed anything. I purposely left things out for others to add to a worthy discussion of the workings of the Holy Spirit in a believer.

I can understand how you do not want to get into a back and forth discussion about eternal security. This topic has been discussed at length in recent months. So we can let others chime in on that discussion topic.
  • S Spencer - In Reply - 1 year ago
    Amen Gigi.

I wasn't saying you missed anything,

I was just staying away from what might end up in a back and forward debate, so I was just easing in below the clouds to insert a relevant attribute of the Holyspirit that would go along with the theme that was presented by the poster.

"The perpetual discussion on eternal security"

(We are sealed unto the day of redemption.)

    God bless

    Matt.6:8-9 "After this manner"

"Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him./After this manner therefore pray ye."

'Therefore' is a conjunctive adverb, used to connect prayer with the manner the heathen are wont to pray. Their much speaking however holds no faith which is covered up more mumbo-jumbo of their device. They have to be seen doing their tasks in full sight of the public so they are staking their claim to be 'holier-than thou'. Jesus warns,"Be not ye therefore like unto them.

Abiding life is not playing to the crowd. What you are God knows, as God the Husbandman knows what he has planted. " every good tree bringeth forth good fruit"(7:17). Abiding life is to hold a position as being so many branches to Jesus Christ the good vine.

We may view it as pictorial representation of Psalm 91:1. Under the shadow of God's protective care we abide nourished by the goodness of the true vine.

God knows our needs and He who did not spare His own Son for our sakes shall he not give everything pertaining to life and godliness? "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."( John 15:5)

It is in this context we set the Lord's Prayer on well grounded principles. Principle of Similitude sets the heaven in terms of the earth. God a Spirit and our fruits of the Spirit. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,/Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. " (Gal.5:22-23) Abiding in Christ we are living the Law which is what we mean by " Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."(6:10)

Our daily bread is from the same table as in heaven. "It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.:(15:26). Compare "Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?"(7:9-11)

This interpretation gives God the glory for telling Abram the whole truth that his seed would not actually take possession of the promised land until 40 years after they left Egypt. Any interpretation that says God was promising Abraham that his seed would possess the land that fails to account for the 40 years Israel spent in the wilderness has to suppose either that God for some reason intentionally left that out and misled Abram about the timing of the answer to his question in Gen 15:8, or that God didn't know about that delay until it occurred.

Both of those positions are much worse than saying that God did know about the wandering in the wilderness and did reveal a complete answer to Gen 15:8. At the same time, God left Abram and his seed uninformed on certain details, such as which nation Abram's seed would be enslaved by and why it would take another four generations before his seed got back to Hebron other than delaying His judgement on Abram's Amorite allies who had just helped him deliver Lot from captivity. God did not have to tell Abram that the generation that could have entered the land immediately upon leaving Egypt was going to rebel against God and create a 40 year delay.

If it is acknowledged that this prophesy includes the revelation of God's foreknowledge of Isreal's wandering in the wilderness directly connected with His determination to delay judgement on the Amorites, this prophesy actually becomes one of the earliest examples of God hiding in His revelation the mystery that Israel's rebellion and hardening was going to prove to be riches for the Gentiles.

Christ is the end of the law of Moses the law of sin and death as the old laws were just a shadow of things to come as it was dedicated by blood. In the new testament, the new laws of spirit of life is also dedicated by blood by the blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus' blood replaced those old commandments.

Hebrews 9:13] For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

[14] How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

[15] And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

[16] For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

[17] For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

[18] Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

[19] For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

[20] Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

[21] Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.

[22] And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

[23] It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

[24] For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.

Looks like you have it all backwards. Obey my parents only in the Lord in the new testament. Honour is the old testament.

Ephesians 6:1] Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

[2] Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

[3] That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

The law Moses' commandments were weak laws, thry could not make people free from sin, they can not make people holy. God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinfulflesh. The law can not make you the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. The law of righteousness the ten commandments Jesus is now the end of all that as he is the head of the Ten commandments for righteousness sake. The old laws were not good enough.

Hebrews 10:[1] For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

[2] For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

[3] But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

[4] For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Hebrews 7:11] If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

[12] For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

[13] For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

[14] For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

[15] And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

    Matt.6:4 "God's Ways"

"And thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly."

Isaiah gives us an infallible proof why our questions on His ways especially when we are faced with such gruesome violence and loss of innocent civilians including infants daily, are out of place. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord./ For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Is.55:8-9). What is happening in Gaza or elsewhere are not hidden from his sight. The Spirit has given an insight into his ways in the manner God sent Moses to fight the Amalekites. Before that God gave a clue to His ways when He gave the nation water out of a rock. "Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel." (Ex.17:5). Moses and company first had to fix in their mind where he stood in their crisis. He stood upon the rock in Horeb.

When the Amalekites attacked them Moses was to stand upon the same rock, with his staff in hand. As the verse from Ps.91 states he stood under the shadow of his wings, the only place for a Christian to stand in relation to his Maker. He sees all our needs and trials even as Moses stood. He is our Jehovah nissi, banner of victory. So have we comes thus far. "A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee."(Ps.9s.91:8)

He has his ways and only way we can profit from is to to trust him totally. Amalekites would have never known but the word of God assures us. Jesus giving his 'Sermon on the Mount' is consistent with Zion from where our salvation comes. So help us God, Amen.
