Ana, I give you words of encouragement. Marriage is tough. There are many periods where things just doesn't seem to be clicking. But you have to fight the good fight in Jesus and stick with it. You will be blessed. Your husband will be blessed, and your kids will be blessed as well. Yahweh, may you please give life, strength, fortitude, patience, kindness, love, and gentleness to Ana's marriage. We thank you Yah for all the blessings you bestow upon us.

Yahweh may you please be there for Stephanie V. May her work go well for the remainder of the year. May you bless the work of her hands so that whatever she does may prosper. I do pray, and ask all these things in the name of Jesus.

Sister GiGi, isn't it interesting the three that met Abraham were all angels and yet were also men. Christ being the angel of the Lord. ( 1 Corinthians 15:49)

Psalms 103:20 Bless the Lord ye his angels ....

Psalms 104:4 Who maketh his angels SPIRITS; his ministers a FLAME of fire.

Luke 16:24 .....for I am in torment in this FLAME

1 Corinthians 5:5 To deliver such a one unto Satan for the DESTRUCTION of the FLESH, that the SPIRIT may BE SAVED....

Hebrews 12:29 for our God is a consuming fire (a single flame).

Colossians 1:27 .... this mystery.... CHRIST IN YOU....

    Hey Rick,

Agree, we humans cannot even come close to comprehending the wisdom of God. As in Job 37:5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

    God bless,

    Hi Nic.

I would like to support what brother Jesse said and would like to add to it if I may.

Perhaps here's what the Pharisees rejected as some Jews and Gentiles do till this day. " Ephesians 1:13. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, ( THE GOSPEL OF YOUR SALVATION:) in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise," The preaching of the cross had no effect on them, they desired a sign and yet ignored all the signs even though Jesus met all the criteria for the messiah they were seeking.

Paul says in 1Corinthians 1:21-22. For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. ( FOR THE JEWS REQUIRE A SIGN,) and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

Here in John 10:37-38. Jesus reasons with them on that.

"If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him."

In Mathew 12:13-24. Jesus performed the signs and wonders and healed many...

But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. In John 10:38 he said "though ye believe not me, believe the works: THAT YOU MAY KNOW AND BELEIVE, THAT THE FATHER IS IN ME, AND I IN HIM." But they contribute the work of the Holyspirit to that of Satan. For one to be saved he has to be drawn by the Holyspirit, knowingly in need of a savior and the Holyspirit would have to draw these Pharisees away from what they trusted as do some of us, THE LAW. Paul says But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, They rejected Him. "THE HOLYSPIRIT"

    God bless.

    Brother Earl,

Melchizedek, you may be right, he may have been Jesus, I just have to say for me, I still have questions. Just like the three that came to Abraham when Sarah laughed and before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the two, we know they were angels but who was the third that stayed and bargained with Abraham? Melchizedek was also king of Salem, we know that was the land of Canaan descendants, were the Jebusites the ones Melchizedek was king over, he is a mystery for sure.

    God bless,

Hi Ronald I view it spiritually we are talking about God so why couldn't he speak a priest into being, isn't this the God that brought down the walls of jericho with blowing trumpets, and made time stand still, and wiped out complete armies when Israel was on the ball and sent angels I.E. his messengers to intercede or give messages to people last but not least created life in a virgin to conceive and give birth to His only begotten son.

Hi stuart The same thing that has made God known since the beginning of time his spoken word made known and passed down from people who believe. Before there was the written word by Gods grace there was always the spoken word made known by men of God throughout time then by the greatest example of gods love and manifested power and glory Jesus christ who in mark 16:15 gave the great commission and he said unto them go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Same in the book of Acts they went everywhere preaching and teaching the word.

Interesting that the Lord sent the angels up ahead to Sodom and Gomorrah and the Lord tarried with Abraham. The Lord knew Abraham's heart. Abraham already knew that they had come to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah by the way he pleaded with the Lord. Before this conversation, the Lord and the angels had discussed whether to hide what they were going to do to these cities. It seems unclear how Abraham knew this.

I am drawn to verses 18-20. the Lord says restates the blessing He gave to Abraham and then says, "For I known him." and tells why God sought out this "knowing" with Abraham, "in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He was spoken to him." Wonderful that God created a friendship with Abraham to bless Abraham and his heirs and promote faith in Abraham and his household to follow God and His ways. Not only did God will to have a people set apart for Himself, but He chose to develop a friendly relationship with Abraham and his heirs. This intimacy is really key to growing one's faith in God. Abraham welcomed The Lord's presence and actions in his life. Let us walk that way also with our Lord, being welcoming and hospitable, joyous and obedient, not resistant or desiring to keep God at hands length from us and what is dear to us.

Back to the text. I love how the announcement of Sarah becoming pregnant says that the Lord will return to Abraham" at the time of life." Whether this was at Isaac's conception or birth is perhaps unknown, but it is wonderful to hear it stated as "the time of life" since Sarah had considered herself "dead" in that area of her life. This was probably the one area of life that grieved Sarah the most over her 90 years of life. God is speaking life to that very area seemed forever dead.

A lot was packed into this chapter. Many have commented well on what is contained in this account of Go's visitation to Abraham. I believe it says that Abraham's tent was set up in Mamre, just as in a previous chapter before Abraham went to Egypt. I think that this was between Bethel and Ai and on a hill. From there they could look over the plains Jordan valley. Bethel was a special place for Abraham and Jacob.

Abraham must have been familiar with meeting with God in visible form. He was at his tent door and, upon seeing them, ran to meet them, bowing down out of respect. Bowing down to visitors was a common gesture in the culture of that time.

Even so, I think Abraham recognized God and the two angels from afar. He hastened to go out to meet them instead of waiting for them to arrive at the tent. It is remarkable that Scripture noted that God and the angels ate a meal with Abraham. This must have happened before since Abraham knew that they would dine with him, Just like it says in Rev. 3:20 "Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."

Also, Abraham asked them not to pass by without staying and eating with him. He must have known that they intended to travel farther than Abraham's tent. They were headed towards Sodom and Gomorrah. yet, before that destruction, God wished to announce a life-giving message to Abraham, the fulfillment of the prophecy of a child being born to Sarah and himself. Remember, Abraham laughed when God first gave him the prophecy that he would father a child and become a great nation. Here Sarah laughs as she considers her situation-lifelong infertility and being well past menopause. She knew Abraham could father children because Ishmael was now 10 or 11 years old, but she must have considered it impossible for her to conceive. God was about to do a very great miracle in Sarah-restore her fertility and open her womb to conceive Isaac.

Hi Nic Brother there is a major difference between what you think in your head and believe with your heart, example there's times when someone can make you angry and you want to kick there butt but you don't carry that out. It was just a thought with no action, but a thought of the heart innermost part of being which is the seat of your personnel life is a whole different issue, confessing Romans 10:9+10 and believing that in the heart innermost part of your being and taking action on those scripture. Action on scripture gets results, mental accent says ill do it someday or may way but never acts on Gods Word.

  • Earl Bowman - In Reply on Genesis 9 - 4 years ago
Brother Ronald, your right we don't have much information about Melchizedek.

I believe from the information we do have we can determine Melchizedek was Christ, the beginning of creation, no beginning or end, the High Priest of creation THEN, and the High Priest of creation NOW.

My thoughts only the Spirit can reveal.

It is unclear if the length of our days and years were the same as then as now. Perhaps findings of science may shed some light on this matter. And then the scientific reasoning on what they find could be accurate or faulty. When examining scientific discoveries an the way scientist interpret the artifacts or findings, I take a a prayerful approach. God allows things to be discovered, unearthed, and/or calculated scientifically for a reason. Perhaps to test our faith in him and His Word or maybe to shed more light on what Scripture has said or perhaps even left out.
  • Jesse - In Reply on Matthew 12:50 - 4 years ago
    Nic,

Please allow me to share this with you. What does it mean to commit blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? The word blasphemy literally means to reject. You used Matthew 12:31-32, so let's focus on what's being said there. Who's Jesus speaking to? Obviously not to saved believers who have been born of God's Spirit because the Holy Spirit had not come yet.

In those two verses, Jesus is not addressing saved people who have the Holy Spirit in them that if they commit blasphemy (Rejection) against the Holy Spirit, they cannot be forgiven. He's speaking to Jewish leaders who were already in a condition of rejection.

A person comes to Christ only when God's Spirit brings conviction to their heart and shows them their need of a Savior. They begin to realize that they need to be forgiven. But why would they come to Christ to begin with? They come to Christ because the Holy Spirit draws them to Christ.

If you haven't caught on to what I'm saying, please let me explain. Let's say I am an unsaved person. I just came to the realization that I am a sinner destined to Hell. I may not realize that God's Spirit has shown me this, but I am now convinced that I need a Savior. I need Christ. Now I have a choice to make. Do I surrender my life to Jesus Christ? Or, do I reject (Blaspheme) the testimony of God's Spirit coming to me and showing me that I am a sinner in need of a Savior and turn away from my only hope of salvation?

I've received Christ. I did not reject (Blaspheme) His Spirit. All my sins have been forgiven, past, present, and future. Jesus said all manner of sin shall be forgiven except for the sin of rejecting His Spirit. Since I've received His Spirit into my life, I will never be in that pre-salvation condition of rejection. Those who commit blasphemy (Rejection) of God's Spirit, they do it before receiving Christ. They've rejected His Testimony showing them their need of a Savior. For that, they cannot be forgiven.

Have you been born of God's Spirit?

It seems that God worked differently in the Old Testament in setting a people apart for Himself than in the New Testament.

However, I believe that true faith in God as He revealed Himself in both Testaments is equivalent. When God appeared to Noah, Abraham, Moses, Elijah, Isaiah, Ezekiel Jeremiah, etc. and spoke with with them, they believed the True God they saw and spoke with, even ate with (as Abraham did). God decides who's faith is "saving faith" regardless of the time frame one lives in. This is not to diminish the knowledge of Jesus and the gospel message. Those who hear the gospel and believe it have "saving faith". Those who haven't heard the gospel due to living prior to Jesus' advent will be judged on belief in the True God as He revealed Himself to them in that time. The sacrifice of Jesus reaches back in time to the beginning, just as it is effective now and into the future.it is for all time.

    John Zindel,

The Roman Catholic Church, there are many hideous things done that are recorded. In Revelation 2 the beginning of it, Jesus referred to as Nicolaitans. I will not get in depth but give a few things you may look at and study. Please do not take as debating but from one who has been there.

Is the name antichrist, just what has been developed over the years with man-created theories? Martin Luther was convinced that the pope in his time was the antichrist. Many say it is the Papacy, looking at the history of the Roman Catholic Church and the times the beast is to make war with the saints looks possible.

If days = years, using 30-day months calculating 42 months or 3.5 years = 1260 days = 1260 years. Using recorded dates of 538AD as the time when the papacy became an established power until 1798AD when the French general Berthier, with the French army, marched into Rome and dismantled the political rule of the Papacy and took the Pope prisoner, 1798-538=1260. This could be the deadly wound to the head, but.

Prophetic years are based on 30-day months, 360-day years, that is why all these times are listed 42 months, 1260 days, and 3.5 years. Even if you believe the days = years, using 360-day year, 1260 years would be 1241.89 365.25-day years. 1260 x 360 = 453600 days divided by 365.25 = 1241.89 years so, if you start at 538 AD it gets you to 1779 AD therefore the dates do not match.

Some things paint beautiful pictures that look to be true, until we look under the covers. Revelations show us it is not just one. Satan, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit, the false prophet, and the mother of harlots the city Babylon. I hope this will be taken for something to study, not something to offend.

    God bless,

    RLW

Lord God please write your commandments on my heart and help me to do them. Let them be my compass and a light to my path! Help me to teach them to my children and my children's children and their children! And anyone else You put in my path! Let Your laws burn like fire in my soul, that I might not sin against Thee. Chastise me when I do so that I can repent! Accept my praise to You oh Lord of Lords, King of Kings. I pray it be as sweet as Your mercy is to my soul!

Hear my prayers today Father for this lost and dying world. Forgive us Father. Save us. Deliver us.

I pray also for Jerusalem today. That Your peace and protection be upon her.

Lord hear the cries of my heart this morning. Let no unbelief or doubt dwell in me . Save and deliver lost souls today. Set them free Lord. Just as You set me free! Thank You Jesus.

Please help all of Your servants around the globe, ALL of them. Hear them crying to You Father. Avenge them Lord. Let Your help come speedily. In Jesus mighty name. Amen
