I'll be honest with you on something. My day today was not that great. My baby son is sick my daughter being bullied at school and wife being unequally yoked is still a concern. I felt today as if everything was just hitting me at once you know ? But I know he saved me for a purpose and that's to be a light that shines in the darkness. It means alot to me to always rely on you fine folks because I learn everytime. It's a beautiful thing to have a relationship with Jesus and the brothers to be strengthened in all aspects. I know as much as my prayer life will increase much more things will happen in my life. I want to go out but maybe sometimes it's better to gain more knowledge so we can be a better witness. I'll telll you one thing. Best joy of my life is to witness to the teenage crowd at McDonald's which is my second job. From 530-9Pm I am there. It meant a lot when one girl told me to pray for her yesterday and then another boy coming to me and expressing his problems. I conveyed once of the best part of my days was to go to work with them and talk to them when I can. The Lord is working in my life I know he is but I still have a lot to go but I know he's not going to leave me. Thank you everyone may God be with you always

Hello Tony. I think of Ephesians 2:8, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God". We see here that the "Gift of God" is the whole: Grace & Faith. Both are needed from Him to receive His Salvation: the Gift of Grace & the Gift of Faith.

However, I couldn't place which verse(s) you were referring to. Both Romans 3:4 & Galatians 2:20, do not reveal what you suggest. Unless you were thinking of Galatians 3:26; Colossians 1:4; Colossians 2:5; & there may be more. I doubt if the apostle intended to infer that this was a faith generated by one towards attaining Christ, rather that the Gift being given & now existing in the believer, from which comes his varied expressions of that faith.

Well written brother Adam. We may not see eye-to-eye on everything (but then who does), but to your remarks, I agree. In fact, my perception of this type of reasoning of the Scriptures, is that Christians remain divided because some can only think in terms of God being the Creator, therefore He created all things, good or bad, & must happen because of Who He is. This is grossly erroneous as we change the Character of God to someone that no pen nor voice should ever describe or utter.

What we fail to take in as well (& rarely discussed), is the Foreknowledge of God. Could things happen, both good & bad, even righteous or sinful, that are permitted by God because of what He knows, rather than what He compels one to do? Is God pleased that sin is committed because He 'created Satan to lead man astray, thus fulfilling His purposes' OR, is God going to judge sinners sending them into eternal fire who choose to follow the words of Satan (who chose to rebel), rather than sinners choosing to listen to the Voice of God & turn to the Holy God, in Whom there is no sin? If God instigates man to sin to fulfil His purposes, what does this say of God's Character? Is this really the God of the Bible, in Whom you & I believe? May we "tremble in His Presence and at His Word". Blessings.

Romans 1:31 in King James Version mentions 5 characteristics, while all others versions mention only 4 "implacable" seems to be extra in the KJV, or otherwise, the other versions seem to have left out this point ?..which is curious, looking up the definition of implacable , it would seem an important aspect of the character they are trying to descibe here.

    see below comparisons:

Romans 1:31 - The New International Version (NIV)

31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.

Romans 1:31 - King James Version (KJV 1900)

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection,** implacable**, unmerciful:

Romans 1:31 - New Living Translation (NLT)

31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy.

Romans 1:31 - The New King James Version (NKJV)

    31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;

Romans 1:31 - New Century Version (NCV)

31 They are foolish, they do not keep their promises, and they show no kindness or mercy to others.

Romans 1:31 - American Standard Version (ASV 1901)

31 without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, unmerciful:

    Romans 1:31 - 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

    31 void of understanding, faithless, without natural affection, unmerciful;

    Romans 1:31 - GOD'S WORD Translation (GW)

31 don't have any sense, don't keep promises, and don't show love to their own families or mercy to others.

Romans 1:31 - The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful.

Romans 1:31 - The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

    31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

Romans 1:31 - The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

    31 senseless, faithless, unfeeling, unmerciful,

Brother Rick, You said spirit of truth and spirit of error can not come from the same source.

I though God was the ONLY source of every thing.

Colossians 1:16 For by him were ALL THINGS created, that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and INVISIBLE. whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or POWERS: all things were created by him, and FOR HIM.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but against principalities. against POWERS, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

All these things we fight against in Ephesians 6:12 are the same things that he created for HIMSELF in Colossians 1:16

2 Thessalonians 2:8 Then shall that Wicked be revealed.....

2 Thessalonians 2:9 Even him (that wicked), whose coming is after the working of SATAN with all POWERS and signs of lying wonders,

2 Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness IN THEM that perish; because THEY received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

2 Thessalonians 2:11 FOR THIS CAUSE shall GOD shall send them strong delusion that they should BELIEVE A LIE.

Man says this verse is talking about that ONE ANTI CHRIST, but verse 10 SAYS THEM AND THEY. That's more than one.

Ephesians 2:2 Where in time past ye also walked according to the course of this world (FLESH), according to the prince (Satan)of the POWER of the air ( 2 Thessalonians 2:9), the SPIRIT that now worketh in the children of disobedience (Satan).

2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall CONSUME with the spirit of his mouth (the WORD) and the brightness (the LIGHT) of his coming ( Hebrews 9:28).

My life testimony and experience I encountered as I walked in the Lord.

In repent got baptize and I got fill with the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongue on June 29 2008. I enjoyed my Spiritual journey with the Lord.

Next thing I encountered while being saved in the Lord: I was trapped by an enemy and I received my total deliverance through after God led me to do prayer and fasting.

I was introduced to smart phones and social media's back in 2012. Till then I got into a trap where I began to social media flirting with most of the guys online from different dating websites. It led me to watch porn videos and pictures and it led me to masturbation. I was soul tied and spiritually transferred to and from with the person I was communicating with. I wanted to stop but it was rooted and I got addicted to it. I didn't realize until after I got delivered by the power and strength of the Holy Spirit. I was spiritually tormented. During those days, I used to get depressed, doubt, fear and anxiety, I used to feel hopeless. So much anger and hatred.

Praise the Lord, in the year 2020 God led me to do stock take in my Spiritual life, Where He allowed me to remove any physical things that would hinder my spiritual life. And he allow me to delete social media account and quite watching movie, and reconcile with my family member.

    Fasting Experience

God placed a thought in my heart that I must fast the next day which was on Wednesday 28/04/2021. I followed the simple instruction from God and fasted for 5 days. Praise the Lord, God really broke loose every strong, stubborn soul ties. And he gave me clarity of mind. After that He open more Spiritual door me to understand and see things in Spiritual way. Now I am enjoying my fellowship with the Lord.

    God bless

Interesting insight very encouraging for moments we are going forward in that perspective.

I've thought of it many times as even though knowing the outcome Paul through Jesus' example was able to face adversity regardless of the outcome. Luke 9:22, Luke 9:44, Luke 18:31-33, Matthew 16:21-27, Matthew 17:22-23, Mark 8:31-38,

Thank you brother for sharing what you did - I'm sure that you have also been a great encouragement for us to seek the Lord with all of our being, to please Him in every area of our lives, & to make His Love known to all who give us an ear.

There is one aspect of reading the whole Bible & therefore gaining a working knowledge of its contents and another aspect of knowing all the intracacies of biblical Truth. I don't believe that on this side of Heaven, anyone can claim such knowledge, for often that runs very deep & we are not privy to all the circumstances, the people & the background in those accounts. Indeed, we need to always grow in the knowledge of the Word, but that takes time & shouldn't be an excuse to prohibit us from reaching out to others.

You have a very genuine love for the Lord & to share that love with others. Your testimony, your full belief in the Truth of the Gospel & the power therein ( Romans 1:16), & a readiness to speak with people where they're at in their lives, offering them the hope that you also have in Christ, is all you need. God's Spirit in you will surely delight to use you, for this is the very reason for His Coming ( John 16:8): to speak forth the Good News to those sitting in darkness ( Luke 1:79) - that you might be His mouthpiece to declare the Glory of God & of His Son & shine His Light. Yes, there will be testing times (Satan does not appreciate his dark evil domain being infused with God's Light), but "greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world" ( 1 John 4:4). Do you believe that brother? Then you can trust Him for not only that power to witness, but to minister to your family needs, job situation, rejection by others, & so on. Faith is indeed the victory that overcomes the world ( 1 John 5:4) & the Spirit in you knows this & will honour His Presence & His Word - that you will lack nothing & remain fearless in your walk in Christ. I leave this great Benediction with you - in Hebrews 13:20,21. Every blessing.

Dear Chris M, It is hard to know exactly what you are referring to, without knowing to what you speak. Unless these fond memories of yours consist of sinful pleasure, or things contrary to scripture I see no need to "reject" them. It may be, that through God's providential leading, that these lead you to Him. The Bible speaks to the goodness of God that leadeth us to repentance. I would also remind you however, that Satan can present himself as an "angel of light." Some memories can cause you to stumble. I'll give you an example, lets say one of those fond memories was having a wonderful time with a relative on a fishing trip. No problem, if say you consider a fond memory as "out drinking someone" at the local pub, and being the record holder, then I'd say "get rid of it." Make new memories preaching repentance and point others to Christ at that pub! Paul covered this in Phil 4, some great "do's and what to think upon." So many times did the writers of the New testament say "remember." "Stir up our remembrance..." remember and follow my example, Paul said. Paul also said "forgetting those things behind, I press toward toward the mark...Some memories are not bad, but not best compared to service for our Lord. "I would encourage you do a word study on "remember." Ask God to lead you and he will. Then, as you grow in grace, you will know. Being a Christian is a journey.

This message is to anyone reading this discussion. Beware of false teaching that goes against the Bible.

    John 8:44

Satan is a liar and murderer. He is NOT good. The result of his actions and deeds are all bad. Beware of any lies you hear saying that good is bad and bad is good. Satan whispers lies in people's ear and they believe him and repeat it. Sometimes even Christians believe lies so they will be deceived into disobeying God, following the world instead of Jesus. Unfortunately there have been unbiblical ideas and falsehoods posted publicly that aren't from God, including on discussions like this.

God gave mankind freewill to choose good or evil. Many choose evil. God didn't do that, man did. God loved you enough to allow you to choose, even if you choose evil. He didn't make you a puppet or a robot- if He did, you would complain about that too. He allows sin to occur and that adversely affects innocent people. This life is very short. It's sad that some lives end sooner than expected, but all will be judged and face consequences for their actions in the end and have their opportunity for reward or punishment. 2 Corinthians 5:10.

It's right to stand up for Jesus, for God's Word, and truth in the face of attacks. We live in an era of lies and we all know who the father of lies is. Resist the devil and he will flee. Love the truth and pray for wisdom and understanding of scriptures. 2 Thessalonians 2:10

A few meditations on another covering besides the hair. Paul never mentions husband and wife in his writing on a woman's covering, he only speaks of "man" and "woman". The nature of a "man" often is selfish and yet "woman" was made from man. If a "woman" who has, like a "man" submitted herself to God by faith, has a visible sign of her faith to "man",would not the "man" whom she comes from feel more accountable to provide his covering of Jesus Christ as a blessing and safety to the "woman"?

Then also, if a covering for a "woman" of faith conviction can be reasonably removed or added (separated from all other parts of being covered for modesty sake, thinking of both "man" and "woman") so when prayer is being considered or prayer service, her place in order is prepared by her own knowledge of preparation of a covering. This conviction then also causes the "man" to take notice of his current relationship with his head, Christ Jesus. Then another consideration is the world looking on. Perhaps a visible sign as a covering protects the "woman" when a Spirit led "man" is not present. When a Christian "woman" is with children, there also is covering of safety that stands out as peculiar amongst the unconverted and even as an an example to the children with the "woman".

Hi Lynda. We are in the new covenant. You have to remember, at that time Adam and Eve were perfect. So they probably were not in need of any protein. Today even those who say that don't eat meat have to get their protein somehow or they will end up in the hospital and even die. You cannot mix old wine in new wineskins, but new wine must be placed in new wineskin. Jesus said, It's not what enters the mouth that defiles the body, but what comes out.
