Just one verse in the Bible is all it takes to refute the OSAS theory:
Matthew 12:32 "...but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."
But there's so many more verses too. Paul is the one who said we can have assurance of salvation, but what people often do is the remove the contingent part- this requires us to "follow Jesus!" A Christian is an active Jesus follower. It's a pursuit that involves effort and transforming oneself. Not being slave to sin, but to righteousness. People want their cake and to eat it too, by not following Jesus, enjoying unlimited sin, but also demanding salvation like a spoiled, self-entitled brat. Some Christians even deny this reality. But Jesus already addressed that:
Matthew 7:21-23
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
Believe it or not, there are even people who don't want to do good. They claim that it's 'bad' to do good works. One should ask, did Jesus say that? If not, does that idea come from God or satan?
John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
I think people would slander Jesus today for doing good works, just like they did back then.
Here are more verses (too many to even paste here):
Hebrews 10:26 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,"
Hebrews 6:4-6
James 2:14-26 "...faith, if it hath not works, is dead..."
James 2:19 "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."
1 Peter 1:13 "...hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;"
Romans 11
Matthew 12:31-32
Romans 14:12
1 Peter 1:5 - "...salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."
1 Cor 9:24-27 "run the race", not 'party' or sit on sofa.
Pray to God to know the truth.
God bless us all with understanding in Gods love, in Jesus Name
I thank you for your kind and honest words. I will admit I want to do so much but I have to stop sometimes to pray and understand his word. I know the Lord isn't going to lead me empty handed and the last thing he's going to do is not equip me with the sword of the spirit. I don't have much brothers and sisters in Christ so I lack in a lot of areas regarding encouragement from others, prayer groups, Bible studies etc. I have two jobs and although it's Very stressful I can't lie. But I know God has me here for a purpose I just need to study a lot harder. I went back to Matthew so I can learn more about the birth, death and resurrection. I want to be strong in the word. I want to be grounded but I know it all comes within time based on his will and me trusting him and his plan for my life. I had an idea a year ago in making business cards English on one side and Spanish on the other side and just passing them out. Right now finances have been at all time low and honestly I have no idea how I am doing but it's not me it's Christ in me. Everytime I'm on here it's a feeling of excitement and encouragement because even though I don't know y'all it's like I've suffered with you and you with me in all walks of a Christian life. Whether the end drawing nigh gets closer there is one thing you mentioned out of it all is PRAY ! There's days where I feel very overwhelmed and days where I say God why me why do I have a heart like this why oh why. He's lead me this far and has shown me he won't fail nor will he forsake.
Thank you
In Acts 20+21 is the record of Paul going to Jerusalem, 21:22+23 He's bound by the spirit to go there and verse 24 doesn't care if he dies there. He teaches the word then in Chapter 21 he goes to Rhodes to Patara then to Phenicia eventually landing at Tyre. Verse 4 And finding certain disciples we tarries there seven days who said to Paul through the Spirit that he should not go to Jerusalem. Verse ten in caesarea there was a prophet named Agabus who took pauls girdle and bound his own hands and feet [pretty point blank]said thus saith the Holy Ghost the jews shall bind this man and hand him over to the gentiles. and when we heard these things both we and they of that place bes ouht him not to go to Jerusalem then verse 14 and when he would not be persuaded we ceased saying do the will of the lord. My understanding of this in context is that God did not want him to go and he almost lost his life, but its an example of a man that made up his mind this is what I'm doing and God covers it like we do sometimes. I believe he wanted to do this because he knew the law inside out and wanted to deliver people no matter what. It says bound by the spirit any where else I don't read that. Other insights gladly welcome
What does Charles Stanley say?
Wow and Wow!!!
What a wonderful scriptural walk thru the bible with highlights on our Heavenly gift of Salvation. Great reading here, and many verses to pray and meditate on.
Personally, I look at this as a generous and wonderful gift, I'm so humbled, and appreciate all the time you spent on preparing this heavenly summation of scripture. I will print this out, so I can refer to it many times in the future.
I remain grateful, and God Bless you!
Matthew 17:15-21
Thank you.
Philippians 2:1-16,
Romans 8:35-39!
It is written that you were bought and paid with a price (Jesus's Blood) - therefore you are not your own. Thank God for this. You are not allowed to judge another man's servant - namely you. It is also written that He will never leave you or forsake you. He cannot lie and His word cannot be broken! He has come to World to save mankind.
If you believe in the Death Burial and Resurrection of Jesus The Christ then you have True Life! For it is the power onto salvation to all that Believe!
1 Corinthians 15: 3,4
John 3:16
Let us not trust in our own works our our own righteousness- But let us only Believe in His Work on the Cross!
Let's keep it simple and our Faith in Jesus - for He will put no one to shame that trusts in Him!
Praise God!!!
However, if you mean, 'did Jesus ever repent (or, change His mind) for something He did or said', again the answer would be, NO. There have been others who purportedly have found instances of Jesus 'changing His Mind', but from what I've found, those were baseless 'proofs'.
Luke 13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Matthew 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
Luke 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
(I love what Jesus says, it's so easy to understand) There is only one hope (Jesus) he said be ready.
So I really love Braeden Campbell and I have faith in your wonderful plans that I would soon get to withdraw $1300. Well Its over $1000. Heck yeah Im not going to spend it just for my happiness. I had faith in God sending me three years of the best discipline that turned out to be an adventure that would prove my romantic future with Braeden Campbell. Please God, your plan to receive $841 means a lot to me. I would save it for 3 months. I please God I want it so bad, just as I want Braeden. Its kind of sad that Braeden does not have that personality matter of fact he has the personality of a player. Heck yeah for talking to all those women.
Any work we do in His Name must be covered in much prayer & study of the Word; for in this way, we will hear from the Lord, we will sense being moved by His Spirit, & we will be emboldened & empowered to serve. Ministries can vary in style & being out there in the front in public can be for many, very intimidating. Often folk will say, 'I won't go to serve unless the Lord takes me out', so they wait ignoring any Divine compulsion as they have not been physically dropped into the 'work'.
Rather, I see it as firstly, being found busy in the Lord's business (taking up opportunities to share with others personally; serving in the Fellowship; taking or participating in Bible studies; engaging in community service using it as a platform to make Jesus known; etc.). As your desires to serve begin to release in such manner, the Lord can lead you with opportunities out there in the public. Of course, if you already have a competent leader in the Fellowship, he may well take out a group to witness their faith on the street or door-to-door. But if you're going it alone, you could hand out Gospel Tracts (sometimes it's cheaper to write up your own, have a printer prepare a plate(s) for them & have them printed - it might work out to a cent or two each, if printing very large quantities, rather than buying already prepared ones from the Christian bookshop). Hand them out & be prepared to engage in conversation. Sometimes, this is better & more acceptable than holding up a signboard or preaching, as public perceptions have changed over time. Most won't give you the time of day or think of you as a madman, so it's very important to know the Spirit's leading & enabling to carry out the work. Every blessing, Arnold.
And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall ne a defence.
Isaiah 4:4-5
Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:38
Whom God hath set forth to ne a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forebearance of God;
Romans 3:25
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Romans 3:24
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he may be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Romans 3:26
Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
Hebrews 10:8
This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Having therefore brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Hebrews 10:16-20
To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by remission of their sins,
Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
Luke 1:77-78
But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off...
2 Peter 1:9

Let's be informed. "It" can also work through men who are submitted to that spirit.
