But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all of Judea, and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

    Acts 1:8

Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?

Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part in me.

    John 13:6-8

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Excepta man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

    John 3:5

And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Phillip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

    Acts 8:38

And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Phillip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

    Acts 8:39

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.

    Ephesians 5:26

Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

    Acts 10:47

But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

    John 19:34

This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

    1 John 5:6

In that day shall the branch of the LORD ne beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.

And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even ecery one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:

    Word,

It says "Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Meekness, and as the old saying goes, "Meekness does not mean weakness." It means openness or receptivity. It's one of the words that Paul used for those in ministry.

It's also translated gentleness. But it means to be open. The person who's giving the word and ministering the things of Christ, that person must be more open and receptive than any other person. They can't close themselves off like they have arrived and everybody else hasn't. They have to be open.

And then temperance means self-control, or more literally the control of self. This is not self-control like trying to enforce discipline in our eating. "I've got to exhibit more self-control when I eat."

This word means to be controlled from within, to be controlled by the Spirit of God.

And then he says against such there is no law. And again, he's saying that this is the fruit of God's Spirit. There is no law against these.

    Hope this helps!

In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

    Colossians 2:11-12

Know ye not, that so many of us were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

    Romans 6:3

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the likeness of his resurrection:

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

For ever , O Lord , thy word is settled in heaven .

Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth , and it abideth.

Rest assured God is in full control and there is Zero need to save the earth . God has given his word on it . The problem is many do not know the truth of the word of God and are confused about many things .

Oh Wow, brother Earl. Did I read correctly what you wrote? "I believe none of the spirits (including Satan) that God uses are evil". And given your belief in the non-existence of hell (as from other comments), I suppose I should have expected to read what I've just read here. So, there's no such thing as evil - just man or spirit performing God's Will, which may sometimes be construed as 'evil'. If I understand you correctly, I really don't know where to go from here - I remain totally flummoxed. I need a break to gather myself together. Thank you.

    Christian Greetings!

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

    Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

    Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

    Titus 3:1-9

And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon the twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

    Matthew 19:28

Ye shall not do after all the things that we do this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes. For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth you.

    Deuteronomy 12:8-9

While he yet spake, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

    Matthew 17:5

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

    Matthew 28:18-20

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

    Mark 16:16

    You have a silly argument,

God forgives those that repent ,

But those that refuse mercy will bear their own judgement.

Rebuke those that error and sin that others may take notice .

Love covers a multitude of sins , but without correction who suffers ? The sinner . To say nothing is not acting in love .

Open rebuke is better than secret love it says in Proverbs .

God is love and will have mercy before judgement.

But those that lead into error are not working on Gods behalf but the devils .

May the truth shine in on you sometime soon !

Dear Arnold , I wish I could say that I know the Word inside and out , I have a terrible memory for chapters and verse and I have to double check everything . God is Love . If we keep this Truth in our heart and mind and keep our eyes on the perfect example of Christ , even when our memory for the correct scripture fails , we should be able to get the message across . Don't be too hard on yourself .

    Susanne,

We see this in 1 Corinthians Chapter 11. First of all, if you look at verse 3, it gives us God's proper order. The order is God, Christ, man, and then woman. That is God's order for the church and we should not violate that order. As far as covering your head before praying to the Lord, you do not have to have a hat, scarf, or any other type of manufactured head covering before doing so.

If you look at verse 5, it makes it sound like you have to wear a head covering. But here's what was taking place in Corinth at that time. This is what it's referring to. In Corinth, the prostitutes who worked the temple area, you could tell who they were because of their shaved heads.

And so he's talking about a covering for women being a symbol or a representation of the fact that she is in submission to her head who is the husband. So what he's saying here is that you put a covering on to show your submission to God's order. If you don't want to do that, you might as well shave your head and be like the rebel prostitutes that are outside. It's either one or the other!

But what is that covering? 1 Corinthians 11:15 says, But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her. And notice this, this is the key: for her hair is given to her for a covering.

What covers a woman's head that symbolizes her submission? It's her hair in Corinth! So God gave her her hair for a covering. So either shave your head and be like the rebels, or have long hair in Corinth and symbolize your submission to God's order.

What he's saying is that it's a shame and it's not right for a man to look like a woman and for a woman to look like a man. We see that in our society today. Women want to be equal. So many have tried to look like men and act like men. Some men want to be equal and they go through some changes to make themselves female.

As to your other question, the woman should not be placed in a position of authority over the man in the church. That would be in violation of verse 3.

Terry, to kill a fatted calf means to prepare a lavish celebration, often to welcome someone back from a long absence. The phrase comes from the Biblical parable of the prodigal son, in which a father prepares a feast for his son who has returned home after squandering his fortune. So the fatted calf can vary in size.

Sister Shirley, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

Romans 8:19 For the earnest EXPECTATION of the creature WAITETH for the manifestation of the SONS OF GOD.

Romans 8:21 Because the creature ITSELF shall be DELIVERED from the bondage of corruption unto the glorious liberty of the CHILDREN OF GOD.

When God has gathered all the Sons of GOD (those being born again NOW), then he will resurrect all the dead back into their flesh and those sons with him will JUDGE THE EARTH.

Isaiah 26:9 .... For when thy judgements are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will LEARN RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Obadiah 1:21 And saviours shall come upon mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau, and the kingdom shall be the LORD'S.

Proverbs 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged .....

1 Corinthians 15:28 And when all things shall have been subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that GOD MAY BE ALL IN ALL.

Does this sound like God is going to send men to hell INSTEAD OF SAVING THEM.

    Hi Rick,

Yes indeed. There's a good message you are sharing here. I think Jonah could also be included in this. God says you're going to Ninevah and Jonah says nope, I'm going the other way. Jonah was exercising his free-will. But isn't it amazing for the believer in Christ that every time we try and do things "our way," they don't quite seem to work out as planned? I like your paraphrase using the word "dude."
